Very sad that this restaurant in Rouken Glen Park has closed. It has been a great little oasis in the park with many happy events held there. Having the covid lockdown soon after opening on top of other issues would have been challenging. Despite that would like to thank all the staff especially the chef, drivers and staff who brought top quality food and restaurant experience to the southside. I wish the new owners every success in the future.
My wife and I are visiting from the States and all our friends back home claimed that food in England was bland. At first I thought our friends were right when we dined at one of the tourist restaurants along the Royal Mile yesterday. But, tonight we stumbled upon Vesta Bar & Kitchen after visiting Dean Village nearby, and wow, I’m so happy to prove how wrong our friends are. We feel like we finally have a taste of what Scotland truly has to offer. What a delight for our stomachs and hearts. The manager, Declan greeted us with warmth, introduced me to Innis & Gunn (my new favorite lager), and recommended our main dishes that were as beautiful as they were delicious. I had the slow braised pork belly on a bed of broccolini and mashed potatoes, and my wife had the linguini with king prawns with olive oil and generous sprinkle of capers. We finished our dining experience with a chocolate cheesecake topped with a raspberry sauce. What an experience!
A very very pleasent experience anbd great scram We arrive as they were closing, but they stayed open, got everything going again and gave us a great time. Highy reccomentds (and some good second hand books to)
Visited the Restaurant for a Birthday Meal
Food was excellent
Staff very welcoming and friendly
Staff went above and beyond to help, getting a small candle placed on the Birthday girls desert!
Well done to all involved and working there as the atmosphere is great and you can see this with the mix of clientele from young to old!
Great variety of food from fish, beef, chicken, et. And vegetarian option
Great taste and size, we were full at the end of the visit!
My partner and I visited The Pepperpot with a couple of family members for Sunday lunch. We took advantage of the three-course set lunch (priced at £20.95) which had a good choice of roast meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes included
The Potting Shed bistro is a hidden gem. We have been several times over the past couple of years and lunch here makes a lovely day out from our home in Edinburgh.
The food is really good and we've always found the service friendly and efficient.
It has a quirky, rustic setting which adds to the atmosphere. The menu includes sandwiches and cakes or options for a full lunch. They even tweaked the menu for me. I would definitely recommend for informal eating.
