Excellent hotel…comfortable rooms, nice bar, great restaurant with an excellent menu…and fantastic freshly cooked breakfasts….

We were staying on the boathouse campsite and had the pensioner’s lunch. Fantastic value, great food with very good choice, ample plateful. Friendly and attentive service. 3 courses plus tea or coffee £16 each on weekdays.

We stayed one night in the boatyard campsite just down the road. The pub is just round the corner and it was great. Good service , good value and the food was excellent.

L’hotel si trova ai margini di una larga piazza utilizzata come parcheggio, a pochi metri dal mare. L’accoglienza è professionale, ma gentile ed efficiente. La camera è tra le più belle di sempre: spazi adeguati, mobilio moderno e funzionale, materasso alto e comodo, bagno pulito e curato. Se pensiamo che la camera con la colazione ci è costata solo 90 sterline, siamo sicuramente molto soddisfatti della scelta – anche considerando il luogo in cui siamo, che ci ha regalato tanta meraviglia durante il tragitto per raggiungerlo. La colazione in hotel non è a buffet, c’è un menù da cui possiamo scegliere il piatto che preferiamo. Abbiamo scelto le uova alla Benedict con il salmone, ma in cucina avevano finito il salmone – abbiamo ripiegato sulle uova alla Benedict con il prosciutto cotto. Con caffè americano e latte freddo, questa è stata in assoluto la miglior colazione della vacanza. Le uova erano cotte magistralmente, il tuorlo fuoriusciva morbido e si sposava alla perfezione con la deliziosa crema Hollandaise che ricopriva le due uova. Una vera delizia per i nostri palati padani! Il ristorante dell’hotel, a nemmeno venti passi di distanza dalla nostra bella camera, è risultato essere una buona scelta per la cena: il servizio è stato attento e cortese, e abbiamo speso 60 sterline per una buona cena a base di cocktail di gamberi, bastoncini di mais, manzo alla Straganoff con riso bianco e verdure, un tortino di pesce e tre pinte di birra – tutto buono, con ingredienti freschi e saporiti.

Good pub grub. Beef burger with black pudding and bacon. Cajun chicken with carbonara. This is a great dish, highly recommended. The stand out thing was the staff. Really really good service.

Feine, ruhige Unterkunft. Wie wurden herzlich Empfangen. Da wir erst um 18:00 ankamen, beschlossen wir auch dort zu Essen. Die Zimmer waren sauber und gemütlich.

My wife and I went here to try the seniors lunch and we were amazed at the the choices available and how good the food was, The service was first class and the two ladies couldn't have been better - so friendly. It is good to see the Davron offering such a good deal for older folk. We will certainly be returning.

The food here ( carvery ) was excellent definitely no complaints. Unfortunately the service never matched it. Over 20 mins waiting for a drink to be delivered to our table . That was the last time we had any interaction with any member of staff till we paid our bill. Not once asked if everything was ok , no offer of another drink or dessert. I hate leaving a restaurant without giving a tip but on this occasion I felt totally justified. We won’t be back but as we were totally invisible to staff we won’t be missed.

Restaurant very busy so booking advisable (we rang Saturday lunchtime and managed to get a table for the evening). I think this speaks for itself. We had Cajun Chicken Carbonara an interesting combination which worked well, and one of the burgers. Initial table service (drinks, starters etc) was v quick and it was good to see restaurant properly resourced which makes for a positive customer experience. We didn't really wait that long for main meals even though it was busy. We had cheesecake and Banoffee Mess.

Eight of us went here for dinner early on a Saturday evening and expected it to be quiet but it was very busy which tells you everything. The food and the service was excellent. Everyone had a great time and there was a really good atmosphere at the Davron. Will definitely be returning.

We had a recommendation to go here last night, so happy we did. Food and service were both really good. I had the muscles and they were so tender, very nice. The meals are reasonably priced which is a big bonus

Stayed for four nights with friends who were visiting us from Canada. The hotel was absolutely spot on, the rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really nice with a good selection and the evening meals superb and the staff lovely. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area. Visited with family. Service good. Portion size and presentation ok. Unfortunately ALL the meat in the dishes poorly cooked , tough and chewy. Dissapointed with the meal overall. Looked good, just never passed the taste test :(

Excellent food, haddock cooked to perfection. Lovely room with nice ambiance. The table service was superb.

Everything was good, apart from the small problem of the stairs. My fault really but bags having to be carried up 3 floors should be something highlighted somewhere. Lucky enough to be be given a view at the front of the hotel which was lovely to overlook the sea. Wind blew hard during the night but that wasn't the fault of the hotel. Staff were all great, breakfast was fantastic and overall a hotel I would be happy to return too once I built up my fitness level.

Stayed for three nights in Room 7, on a bed and breakfast basis. Very happy with all aspects, clean and comfortable. A bit of late night noise as the room is directly above the bar and in the excellent weather a lot of people spent time outside with their drinks and smokes! Excellent varied menu, good quality and well presented food. Breakfast service and check in particularly friendly. Beer garden very nice, although not sure about some young guys inflicting their choice of ‘music’ on other customers! Thankfully the restaurant area is lovely, so moving inside wasn’t a disappointment, despite the lovely weather! Never had an alcoholic shake before, but the Tennessee Boozy Shake is highly recommended! On street parking (free) available outside the hotel, no problem in getting a place each day.

This is the best hotel we have stayed in the Fraserburgh area. The couple who own it are very helpful.

Worst spare ribs I have ever had more fat than meat with the meat very tough and chewy with one piece inedible and because the chef said it was all good no recompense was offered stay clear.

Lovely hotel with great staff especially Jajia and Caitlin who were so friendly and welcoming they really gave the hotel a home away from home feel. Food was also lovely. Highly recommend and will definitely use again

Went here for a family lunch on third January and we all had a great time. The food was really good and the the two ladies who were serving were just excellent. I didn't know what to expect given it was just into the new year but everything was great. Will definitely be returning.

A great family oriented hotel. The staff were friendly, the location in a peaceful small town is a blessing. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel owns a great restaurant at its back door. It’s a bit out of the way hotel, but surely we will back once we are in the area. The only problem is that the hotel misses an elevator, which in our eyes is a necessity these days.

We have just had a very enjoyable meal here. Hubby had the breaded prawns & noodles followed by coconut & jam sponge & custard.Ihad the vegetable thai green curry, extremely tasty & white chocolate & raspberry creme brule. We both enjoyed every mouthfull. The staff were lovely too.

We chose Davron due to it's great food reviews - and it did not disappoint. Luckily they had a room left (standard double bed -clean and comfy with a great shower). Booked in and thoroughly enjoyed a GnT with a game of pool before supper....

Ate here recently whilst staying nearby. Good pub food and generous portions. The staff very friendly. The chips were good home cooked chips, which you rarely find these days. So good and not greasy at all. They even had take away cocktails, to enjoy later....

Stayed one night with friends, room lovely and clean and great friendly staff but all found the restaurant food of poor quality, chips on the side were left on the side as inedible, stale and greasy. Breakfast in the morning was very good once again served by excellent staff.

So I for the first time visited The Davron Hotel with 2 friends. First Class Service. First Class Food. Very Reasonable. The Most COVID conscious I have visited. Excellent all round and a most pleasant evening.

My wife and I were visiting old haunts on the Buchan coast intending to lunch in the Pennan Inn, which is sadly no more. Heading towards Fraserburgh we thought we might get stranded as the time was pushing on. We were relieved and delighted to stumble across the Davron, which was still serving. All we had were sandwiches and a soup for myself, but the quantity, quality and price made them excellent value. Staff were friendly and all in all it was a very good experience.

had 2 haddock and chips cost 11.90 as the 50 percent off thing with government and the fish was very nice. will be back. the staff nice enough and the tenants was tasty.

I had dinner here last night. The village is really scenic. The two young quines serving were helpful. I went for the steak pie and it was really nice. It arrives really quickly after like 1-2 minutes. It was a huge portion of beef and came with pastry, tatties, cauliflower and broccoli. I cleaned the plate and I was stappit fu. The bill was just over £10 which was good value. There is also free Wi-Fi available. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Popped in for lunch having failed to see anywhere remotely inviting in Fraserburgh and so glad we did. Both of us had haddock and chips - one breaded, one battered and both fish were exceptional. Sticky toffee pud for afters was lovely also. Generous portions, well priced. Heartily recommend.

Had our dinner here the last night of our stay in New Aberdour and it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was great enjoyed everything we had especially the dessert the mint aero sundae was fantastic. If we return to New Aberdour will definitely be visiting for dinner again.

Popped in for breakfast before 7 hour drive back to England. Lovely waitress, chef came out and said goodbye, breakfast great, well presented and well cooked, decent price. Had been drinking in hotel bar all week, welcoming people and great hospitality.

Really impressed with the menu. As a vegan , choices are usually really limited but this menu was impressive, plenty of choices and it was well presented. The staff were lovely and welcoming too. Looking forward to going back and sampling the impressive gin and whisky menu.

We arrived, soaked to the skin after a terrible ride over the mountains/hills, torrential rain, strong winds and mist/lowclouds. We were on motorbikes with nowhere to stop in safety so we pressed on slowly inching our way to the hotel. Two cars just pulled off the road into a driveway, they did not go up it so i can only assume they were having a rest from the storm. Upon arrival we had a lovely welcome and were given a lovely room number 6 plenty of space, above the bar. we had a nice view over the sea, a huge bath in room number 8. We ate in the restaurant, which was nice then retired back into the bar, a duet was on they were pleasant to listen to, no charge, good value for money hotel. Fab breakfast.

We had lunch in the Davron Hotel midweek and although it was quiet, the food was still really good. The menu has a lot of choice as well as the daily specials. The food was cooked fresh and the ingredients are mainly sourced locally, so you get to try the best that the area has to offer. It's not on the main road, so you need to take a slight detour, but it is very worthwhile to visit this excellent friendly family run restaurant. There's plenty of on street parking and it's disabled friendly. There's also a nice sun trap of a beer garden if the weather is good.

Eaten at the davron on many occasions over the years and have always had great food. The vegetarian menu is great and if there is nothing I like they will suggest other options. Great food and great place to take the family for a meal.

We were in the area and stopped for lunch. The food was excellent and all made on the premises including the coleslaw and mayonnaise, risotto and lasagne. The restaurant which doubles up as a function suite was clean and fresh and the staff friendly and very helpful.

Home from another great meal at my favourite restaurant in the area. I have been a frequent visitor since the place has opened. I’ve never had a bad meal here and would always recommend people come and make the journey to rosehearty as it is well worth it.

My family held a funeral tea there. Everything was well prepared, polite friendly staff and good prices. Local people recommend this place also, so can't go wrong.

Touring scotland...3 couples on motorcycles...plenty parking outside of hotel. IGNORE the exterior appearance and walk right in..,the staff are lovely and welcoming..,the rooms and overall decor is beautiful....the owners have obviously spent time and effort in their business...,Dining room...have to see to believe..,,,a Tardis comes to mind...the food is excellent...this chef applies his trade with heart and soul...a good stopping off point.

Food good and plenty of it. Staff very polite. There was a large group of us and everyone was catered for. Down side not enough serving staff and people were waiting longer than you would expect.

Rosehearty on the coast of Buchan is an interesting place to visit at any time of the year and friends' recommendation of the Davron whetted our curiosity for a meal out. Easy parking in the Square, a warm welcome inside the door of the large restaurant, drinks ordered and menu picked out from a comprehensive range of choice, with prices ranging from the Day's Special to more expensive meat dishes. From starters of scallops/brie to an excellent large medium rare steak with chips, onion rings, etc/pork stroganoff, we had a combination of excellent value and flavour, so much so that we opted out of any desserts, instead having a hot chocolate and tea with lemon. A meal at the Davron is certainly worth the travel and proves to be a real gem in the North-east of Scotland. Our friends' recommendation was spot on!

You are greeted straight away when entering, we arrived without booking and was accommodated for, would recommend booking as this place can be quite busy. Meals ordered and relatively no waiting each table served accordingly. Staff friendly enough with the usual smile and if everything was ok for you! Toilets are upstairs which can be a pest but are accessible in the carvery dinning. Cant and wont fault this eatery as have been several times and meals have been good

We made a quick stop for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the tasty fish and chips and burger. Nothing more than typical bar food, but exactly what we needed at the moment!

I visit The Davron fairly regularly, it is in my opinion, the best restaurant in the area when considering the combination of quality of food and value for money. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and surroundings are really nice without being too formal. Food choice is excellent with something for everyone, and the haddock and chips option is without a doubt, the best value for money in the North East. I've never come away from the place less than very happy with my experience.

Lovely menu and great meal. Service was excellent. We were a party of 23 and the friendly staff served us all very efficiently.

Have eaten here several times & enjoyed tasty evening meals all reasonably priced. Recommend the Chicken Maryland, very generous portions & my husband always enjoys the good quality fish dishes. The Sunday Carvery also very good value, serving quality roasts & delicious homemade yorkies, far better than the "bought in" inferior ones often served at other hotels. Staff always very welcoming, friendly & provide service with a smile.

We visited in a group of 5 adults and a 1 year old on Sunday for a birthday lunch. Very impressed with the overall restaurant as had never been before. There is a fantastic childrens play area that kept my 1 year old entertained the whole time we were there!

Went for lunch the restaurant was bright and lovely decorated .the menu had allot of choice , friendly staff smiling is always a plus ! Food didn’t take long to come and was very good , would definatly recomend the Davron 👍🏻

Went along looking for a place to eat. Restaurant was quiet, we never had a booking and were turned away. Could see no reason why we couldn't be seated so went to Findlays in Fraserburgh. Great service there and great food. Guess which one from these 2 establishments I would or wouldn't visit again?

Stayed at the Devron two years ago and had a memorable meal as good as we have had anywhere. Came back again for that reason and wasn't disappointed. Good rooms friendly staff and excellent food. And a fast and SECURE internet connection. At the risk of repeating myself, the quality of the internet connection is usually inversely proportional to the pretentiousness of the hotel. Hotel chains wake up to yourself if you think you are catering for business travellers and can't provide secure internet. Anyway, the Devron is great and cannot speak highly enough of the service, staff and food.

Went here tonight for my mums birthday. Polite staff very friendly. Amazing food and child friendly. Clean and modern place deffo be back, highly recommended.

First visit to the new restaurant / function room

We had an excellent lunch. The portions were huge. Diningroom was spacious and clean. Staff were very helpful. Would certainly recommend.

We visited the restaurant of this hotel, for a birthday meal. Although we booked a table, we had to wait, a few minutes,as this place is obviously very popular with locals and holidaymakers, being situated in a small seaside village.

Good value, friendly staff. Food was freshly prepared, quite a varied menu and specials. Nice environment.

Stayed here for 3 nights when the beast from the east hit.great food friendly staff nice bar area,huge restaurant offering nice food at reasonable prices.the rooms where clean and tidy with plenty of hot water.The breakfast is the best one I’ve had anywhere in Scotland over the last 2 year.only down side was the rooms where cold as the radiators have a digital control which shuts it off after 30 mins.But it was minus 5 outside.would definitely stop here again

My partner and I came here after a friend recommended it and I’m so glad she did. There’s something on the menu for everyone. The atmosphere and service were wonderful, I left feeling so relaxed. The food was delicious couldn’t fault it at all, and prices weren’t ridiculous. We can’t wait to come back soon :)

Food was tasty and warming on a cold day and staff friendly and helpful. outside of building isn't very inspiring as it looks like an old working men's club but the restaurant was comfortable and much nicer on the inside.

Just had high tea for 4 people. Great choice of quality food served by friendly staff. Couldn't believe the amount of scones etc that followed! Well worth a visit.

I stayed here for 2 nights recently. I have passed this hotel many many times and never really given it a second look. I now wish I had actually went in a long time ago. This hotel is superb. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are well sized and decorated to a good standard. Comfortable beds with tea and coffee in the room. A television with free sky tv in each room too. The shower was brilliant with loads of roasting hot water and loads of water pressure. A thing many hotels fail at and a spacious bathroom to boot. The breakfast was 1st class with all local produce where possible and the main bonus for me was Stornaway black pudding with the breakfast as standard. The food in the restaurant at night was also 1st class. Well presented and very tasty. I would recommend this to anyone living up in the Fraserburgh area as it’s the best small hotel I have stayed in up in that part of Scotland.

Spent a lovely 3 nights in the Davron during November while visiting family. A great reception as always from Sharon and David. The dining facilities have been upgraded since our last stay with the reformed bar and eating area at the rear of the hotel. We ate two out of the three nights there and were delighted with the well thought out menu making the most of locally sourced produce, the black haggis scotch egg was a particular treat!!!!!

We arrived at the Davron at around 4.45 and as the restaurant doesn't open until 5pm we decided to have a drink in the bar. The bar was cosy and we'll decorated and the barmaid very friendly and attentive. There was only 5 or 6 people in the bar and within minutes we were chatting away as if we had met before!

Came here with friends to celebrate a special occasion. The staff were friendly, nicely dressed although a little unused to mid range dining niceties. The food however was above standard, there was eight of us in our party and there was only two meals the same. Everyone finished their plates off and all enjoyed their meals. I would be happy to return here. Am told the Cullen Skink was superb and that’s from an aficionado.

Nice enough food, and a few vegetarian options. The chickpea risotto was very good. The staff were very nice, and a credit to the hotel. The downside was the decor which is gloomy and makes the restaurant look small and dark. The chairs were low and uncomfortable when eating.

Fabuloso hotel en sleepy Rosehearty, cerca de Fraserburgh. El desayuno era excepcional y la cena era fabuloso. Teníamos una variedad de torta de carne, pescado y pasta de pollo plato. No puedo esperar a volver.
