Excellent little gem in Stonehaven. Friendly office service. Excellent quality food. Good variety to suit all needs . Would definitely recommend for lunch or quick coffee and cake.

On my mission to get eating out in places on my own, I opted for this wee cafe last weekend. It’s such a nice setting, the staff are so lovely and the food was absolutely delicious. I will for sure be back here in the near future and would highly recommend this place for a bite to eat!

We visited this lovely cafe during a trip to Stonehaven and we (and our dog) were given a very warm welcome. The cafe has a very nice atmosphere is very tastefully decorated and comfortable with very pleasant and friendly staff. The menu choice is excellent and the food we ordered (breakfast rolls) were delicious and good value. We would definitely recommend this cafe and wouldn’t hesitate to return if visiting the area in the future.

The food was excellent, the service was lovely. We went out for a walk with our dog (spud) and stopped in for lunch. We got a great table inside and spud was given some little treats while we ate. Will be back the future with more friends.

Took a trip to Stonehaven with a friend and went to The Villa Coffee Shop for lunch. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and found us a table although it had been booked for 1.30pm so we could only have it for an hour. However as soon as another table became vacant a waitress kindly moved the reserved sign there, so we could have our table for longer. I had a lovely sandwich and side salad and my friend had a panini. The cakes and tray bakes looked lovely although we didn’t have any. The coffee shop is nicely decorated and has a charming ambience. I would definitely come here again when in Stonehaven.

We found this absolute gem of an establishment on a wee walk around Stonehaven We were very much welcomed by the lovely staff and quickly found a table We were a group of three friends and we all had the chicken curry ( just so tasty) followed by beautiful coffee and scrumptious homemade cakes . Served by very polite and friendly staff who we enjoyed friendly banter with and gave us some local knowledge. We would all throughly recommend this lovely wee gem and will return.

Visited for lunch with my daughter. This was the first time that I had visited The Villa however had visited many times previously when it was Arbuthnot coffee shop. I had the stovies and my daughter had the bacon, brie and cranberry panini. Although we were both full we made room for a victoria sponge and mandarin cheesecake! All the food was delicious and service was friendly and efficient too. Certainly would recommend a visit

Doesn't look much from outside, but I had done my research and found it was dog-friendly, so we headed there for a bit of lunch. Inside the place was warm & welcoming, we were greeted with a smile and a table was available within a few minutes. The service was lovely, and the lunch of baked potatoes was fab. We were too full up to have coffee & cake and, sadly, we ran out of time in our holiday to return. If you holiday in Stonehaven, would recommend you pop in for coffee, cake or lunch, you will not be disappointed 10/10

What a lovely wee restaurant! Went with my mother in law for a wee spot of lunch - delicious soup with the softest bread and a very good cup of tea. Cakes looked very tempting and the menu was varied. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Will definitely make this a regular place to visit when I am in Stonehaven.

We were a group of five ladies, cousins who were meeting up for the first time. We had only recently discovered the family connection and found The Villa, we were welcomed warmly and the staff found us a very nice table where we were able to chat, and catch-up, we enjoyed a lovely lunch, the staff were were very kind and friendly. I would recommend this delightful cafe.

Lovely little restaurant tucked away in Stonehaven. The lunch was great and the service very friendly. The baked goods were wonderful. It was a pretty little dining room and felt very cosy.

My wife and I were travelling up North, feeling hungry as it headed to lunch time. We phoned ahead to book a table in case of a lunchtime rush. The table was kept for us. We had a beautiful light lunch. Paninis for both of us. Cheese and ham, which my wife enjoyed, for myself, haggis, and cheese, which was wonderful. Staff were friendly and efficient. Nice, cosy atmosphere, and good prices. Would recommend to anyone if you're hungry pop in and enjoy The Villa Coffe Shops menu. Will be back next time we pass. Mr & Mrs MacDonald

Visited the Villa today with 3 friends for the 1st time. Very friendly and efficient service and delicious, very reasonably priced food. We will certainly be returning. 5 stars in every department.

This is so friendly, lovely tasty freshly prepared food, spotless kitchen and toilet facilities. We were so lucky to find this little gem on our way to Dunnottar Castle. We arrived at 12.00 thankfully early enough to be guided to table, soon after no table were available. We had hoped to return for Tea and some delicious cake after our walk, but last orders are 3.30pm. Lovely excuse to come again now we have found such a lovely place.

The Villa never ceases to amaze me, I will never tire of the macaroni cheese from here. Such generous portions, and extremely tasty!!! Felt very safe under the current coronavirus guidelines and will continue to visit regularly! Thanks to a great team xxx

Just spent a few days in Stonehaven and more than a healthy (for the waistline) number of visits to the Villa. Coffee is excellent, service is excellent, cakes and scones to die for (GF included) and dog friendly as well(!!!???) Well worth the calories!!

Before heading home after our staycation we stopped here for breakfast, we all had coffee with a roll all enjoyed it, the woman that served us was very friendly

Went here for lunch with my other half. The place has a nice feel to it and after reading reviews, we had high hopes. However left slightly disappointed. The menu was very limited and only offered a vegetarian burger with no option of a meat/poultry...

Love it here. We went in just looking for a toastie or panini. We ended up both having the Haggis, neeps and tatties. Was a fantastic lunch. As always.

Stopped for lunch - macaroni and cheese was tip top and the coffee was good - service and prices also hit the spot - we will be back - thankyou.

We're regulars here, never had a bad visit in all our time of visiting. Working our way through things we like on the menu but always get drawn to the specials board as theres something good! Great value for money, great food and very friendly staff who are always up for a bit of a chat when you're in.Downside? We're always too full after lunch to have a cake, even if we want to try most of the cake cart!Steak pie special from the other week in the photo has been a favourite of mine!!

Lucky to get the last available table for lunch. Welcoming, friendly, staff and delicious food. Definitely not just“standard coffee shop fare”! Excellent selection of light meals and larger meals with a cake trolley groaning under the weight of a fantastic selection of home bakes. Excellent prices for great quality and quantity. Looking forward to our next visit.

Busy wee place, glad we booked. I had the soup, hubby had the scampi. All good, no complaints and no seasoning required. Hubby had apple crumble and custard, good size serving. I tried a cinammon waffle with ice cream, never had a waffle before in my life and it was light and very tasty. Recommend. Staff very smiley and friendly.

Visited for the first time today for lunch. Friendly service. Excellent for coffee and cakes. Lunch was ok but basic fare.

Lovely filling lunches here. Lentil soup was homemade and delicious. Baked potatoes were soft and fluffy inside and good size with plenty of filling and salad. Staff were very attentive. Great choice for lunch.

Popped in about 3pm, an hour before they closed after touring the castle. Bright, clean and attentive staff. My wife had the hummas and roasted red pepper toasty with soup and raved about the sandwich. Soup was also excellent. I opted for the latte and crumble, not the most nutritious lunch, but it was served hot with ice cream. A couple of blocks from center of downtown so we found parking easily and then walked around the town. Highly recommend this for casual lunch.

We went here because of TA reviews . Not disappointed . Greeted by a wonderfully friendly hostess ( seldom the case in Scotland ) . Tiny , perfect little room . Very interesting menu . I chose macaroni and cheese from the “pensioner’s special” expecting to have room for sticky toffee pudding . That did not happen . The M&C; , the salad and the chips were all great and abundant . I couldn’t finish. My wife had shrimp and loved her’s as well . Great service . Very reasonable price . Over the top ambience . Loved it .

Lovely little cafe with home baking. Lovely and helpful staff. Prices very reasonable. We could not make our mind up what to have and the member of staff brought the entire cake trolley to us.

We popped in for a morning coffee and were greeted by friendly smiling staff. Once seated we were served quickly and we ordered coffee from their selection on the menu. We were then offered a choice of delicious looking cakes from the trolley if we wished. We both chose a scone and did not regret it. It was warm and really delicious, served with plenty butter and jam. The coffee was very good also. We regret not having visited here before and will definitely be back.

Popped in here for a light bite. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. We had Toasties with salad. Very good, salad was very fresh and one of the best I have tasted at a lunch sitting.

We had just popped into town for a quick lunch, coming over the hill from Dunnottar, and spied this place. We got there just before the Sunday lunch rush, so getting a table was no problem. We encountered exceptionally friendly service, excellent food - since we were seaside we thought that something aquatic was in order, and a cake trolley they happily wheeled around for us to make a takeaway selection from. I’ve yet to eat the custard cream, but I am very much looking forward to it. Superb experience, made my day.

Went there twice for breakfast. It is usually quite busy at the weekend and space is limited. Pleasant staff and standard menu. It is quite traditional and probably aimed at the older market therefore. Popular with locals.

Was looking for a dog friendly cafe and came across the Villa. Was made to feel very welcome and dog was given a fresh bowl of water. Was too late for sandwiches etc but had a lovely pot of tea and scones. Orange and cranberry scone was lovely. Great little garden out the back.

Called in for tea and ice creams, very nice setting and good ice cream. However of all the staff that we did see , I think four , not a smile between them. It does make a difference , so smile please.

Once again team villa served up a lovely lunch for 11 people after our Sea Safari trip yesterday. Arriving a bit late, it wasn't a problem for this hardworking happy family and out came the food all freshly done and beautifully presented. This is a cosy coffee shop offering light meals and baked goods. Also has outdoor area for better weather. Staff were very friendly and service was super quick. Large variety of baking on offer as well as lunches

Came in for teas & coffees and were pleased to find it was possible to order portions of icecream by numbers of scoops so we could indulge without over-indulging. The range of cakes also looked very good.

Excellent service lovely fresh cooked food using locally sourced produce, varied choices on the menu to suit most tastes from light snacks to full meals. Prompt service without making us feel we were being rushed.

This coffee shop is a shining star in Stonehaven. The homebakes are delicious, and the vast menu of main meals, coffees and desserts are outstanding! Smiley helpful staff! And very accommodating! ❤️ Everyone who visits Stonehaven needs to visit the Villa coffee shop! X

I love it here. I never have a bad meal. The food is always top notch, the cakes are beyond amazing and the service is fantastic.

We were given a voucher for lunch at this lovely restaurant. i had a steak and cheese panini with salad and crisps plus a small bottle of wine, my husband had a tuna mayo toastie with salad and crisps and a bottle of wine. It was absolutely delicious!! the service was excellent too. Afterwards we walked round the harbour and along the boardwalk. What a super afternoon! Well worth a visit.

Back in the days (1960s) I used to visit a friend’s granny when the building was six flats. I like what they have done. The Villa has excellent fare. My mother and her friend both had the scampi and I had the steak sandwich. The meals were well presented on the plates and were excellent. The management were friendly and their staff are a credit to them. I did not that when sold out, the specials board was updated with the new choice.

Els had the best Macaroni Cheese for a long time. My chicken filets and fries were good Excellent Apple Crumble for desert The service and the Cafe were lovely

Le meilleur endroit où l on ait pu déguster une cuisine locale faite avec des produits frais. Les assiettes sont copieuses et les accompagnements proposés sont variés. Une cuisine familiale vraiment très bonne.Le service est rapide et le personnel agréable. Les prix sont très corrects. L endroit est cosy et d une propreté irréprochable. Je recommande vivement le steak pie qui y est succulent.

Only popped in for just a tea and coffee. Had a couple of small freebie cakes and they were yummy. The staff were some of the most welcoming I’ve ever met. This place is warm, friendly and homely. Didn’t try the food but it looked first class.

We visited this place for a coffee on a very wet day recently but, as it was so wet, we stayed for soup and a main course for lunch. Two wrongs certainly made a right in this case as the food was simply excellent and we will certainly return in the near future. Staff were lovely and friendly and could not have been more helpful.

Had been to the V&A; Dundee with a friend, & having finished there earlier than expected we took the coast road back to Aberdeen & on her recommendation, came here to eat. Lovely, quaint spot n a gorgeous old building. Busy, too, which is always nice to see in a local business. Good menu choice & every option seemed to be available: my husband had a sandwich with accompanying bits & pieces, our friend had the Brie wedges from the starter menu & was asked if she'd like it upsized to a main, which she declined but the offer was there, & I had the veggie soup - all delicious, where relevant made/cooked to order, & service was friendly & polite.

This was my first time in this restaurant. We arrived about 11 and had a bacon and egg rolls and a cappuccino. Service was so friendly and efficient. We were thirsty and asked for pints of water to accompany the coffee and these came promptly with ice and lemon. What a great find. We will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu!

Never been before so popped by today for a quick brunch to try it out. Glad I did. Loved the food, the feel of the place and the decor. Service was excellent and very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended. Will be back.

The food is always good. The cakes are lovely and so are the staff. You should try the macaroni it is delicious.

We always visit Stonehaven when in the area but have usually headed to the harbour for fish and chips...this time we decided to have a cuppa first and we were very impressed with The Villa. The welcome is very warm and we were offered a fresh bowl of water for the dog as soon as we had ordered our drinks. Our dog was treated like a VIP and the hubster announced that it was the best coffee shop he'd ever visited (the mocha and the carrot cake must have been good...my latte was lovely). There were a fair few tables reserved so this must be a popular place. Thanks for a lovely experience and we will definitely head back if we are in the area again.

Haven't been here for some time but visiting Stonehaven to look up good friends and had lunch with some of them today. Soup was excellent, bread lovely and fresh, and cakes to die for! Kevin and Jeannie are so dedicated to the business and it really shows. We'll be back again sometime!

Dit vonden wij echt top. Typisch tea-huisje, zeer mooi ingericht en zeer netjes. Super geschikt om een lekkere versgemaakte kom soep of een broodje te eten als lunch. Laat wel plaats voor een stuk cake want dat is hier een must! Druk bezochte plaats maar wij hadden alvast geluk en het laatste tafeltje.

Just went for a Sunday run to Stonehaven and decided to go for something to eat, there were a few nice sounding cafes but this one looked lovely.

Lovely wee tea room we had soup and bread which was very nice but slightly overpriced. However the meals looked good value for money. Loved the cosy atmosphere would recommend.

Visited here for lunch earlier in the year and it was excellent. We decided to stop by again just for some coffee and scones but ended up ordering a full breakfast. It was easily the best fry up I have ever had! The meats were top quality and eggs cooked exactly how we asked. Ended up with a couple of the apple and cinnamon scones of the day to go as they were just out the oven.

The environment was so familiar … looks like your are going to your grandmother leaving room... love the service and people really friendly …. food is amazing too!

My friend and I went here today to have a good catch up. She lives in Scotland, I live in KENT and we haven’t seen each other for about 12 years. Her mum recommended this cafe. The cakes are to die for and the coffee was excellent. Very friendly staff and wonderfully clean cafe. Very efficient service.

Had an excellent lunch here with mother and family. Carrot and parsnip soup was superb. Kids can be fussy (awkward??!) but also gave a big thumbs up.

Visited here again for coffee and scones. Well worth the trip. Lovely selection of cakes displayed but we went for scones, the orange and cranberry was especially good. Filter coffee comes with a refill. Service is excellent and staff friendly.

Visited The Villa a few times now with family and it's always a good meal. Good range of affordable lunch options, whether you're in for a bowl or soup or a full fish and chips, and generous portions too.

Light lunch with a friend - very good value for money and friendly service. Tends to get very busy around lunch time so you may have to wait a little while for a table but worth it. Will definitely return.

Very welcoming and accommodating of the four legged friend. Home made garden pea and mint was excellent. They also provided water for the dog with no prompting or request from ourselves. Well worth a break here
