Had a lovely stay. Room was clean and spacious. Great value for money with a lovely breakfast included. I stayed with my two children who are under 10. Our room was lovely and quiet. We slept well. I would recommend

Food was really really good. The Mediterranean soup was delicious. The steak pie was the best I've had. And amazing portions. Real value for money Would highly recommend.

Arrived in Stonehaven a little later in the afternoon than planned for a camper trip in November.... first two restaurants in harbour area had stopped serving food at half 2 so we were happy to find The Belvedere hotel were still serving food all afternoon.....we're even happier after a great meal with awesome friendly service.... all homemade.... fantastic burger with chips and roasted vegetable tagliatelle.... check it out

This place does not shout at you from the outside, but it was really a find. The room is warm and homely, the service was excellent and the food was not fancy but really tasty. A really cozy place that does not pretend to be anything other than it is.

The room was large and clean with an en-suite shower room, the bed was comfortable and the room had a sofa in the bay window with manual leg lifts. The breakfast was excellent with as much or as little as you wanted. In fact all the food in the hotel was excellent with many non-resident guests coming for lunch and dinner. The hotel has a free car park and is a short step away from the town centre and the beach.

Ate here last night and ordered the "Hungarian Sausage Casserole" which was on the Specials Menu. Turned out to be 5 bland tiny "pigs in blankets" in quite a bland paprika sauce with a blob of mashed potato on the side. Would have been a sad primary school dinner. Total cost of ingredients probably 50p but was charged £13.45. So, a clear ripoff and actually ridiculous and insulting. Will not be back and would advise all others to stay away too.

First time I’ve had Cullen Skink, beautiful. We both had the Sunday Roast, best roast beef I’ve had in ages! Excellent service, very friendly.

Visited with the family. Nice location which is dog friendly in the bar and external patio areas which are well covered and lit. Good variety on the menu and they cater well for vegetarians. Friendly service and good value for money. They also helpfully provide options for standard and reduced meal sizes which are priced accordingly. Would recommend.

Good quality food, friendly and efficient service and a nice atmosphere in the bar. The beer garden has plenty of shelter and interesting plants. Covid measures are sound. Overall an excellent visit - well worth trying out post-lockdown.

We enjoyed a lovely relaxed meal here on our day trip to Stonehaven. There was a good range of food available, even for children and vegetarians, and staff were very friendly and helpful without being overbearing. It was refreshing to enjoy such a warm relaxed atmosphere despite Covid precautions being in place.

During extremely difficult times Sheila and Mick and there excellent staff took great care of us and fed us well. Thankyou so much guys. Especially Charlotte who got us special ingredients for dietary breakfasts and Erin who makes the best coffee.

Went today for a family meal for my dad’s birthday. All the food was really good and the service was fantastic. The chocolate and raspberry brownie sundae was amazing. We will definitely be back 😀

I had a sirlion steak with the half price up to £10 deal. I felt disappointed. There was a slab of meat, chips, and under the slab some mushrooms. I did not ask about sauces and the waitress did not mention them. The £20 steak was reduced to £10. I just found it unexciting. On the other hand, we were able to eat in the Beer Garden which in these Covid 19 times, is a real bonus. I have happy memories of an exceptional music night I attended years ago.

Me, my wife and son visited during the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. Booked table in advance and looked at the menu before going to save on the contacts. Tables in bar are well spaced out and felt safe at all times. My wife had a steak and we had fish and chips with mushy peas. Steak done to perfection, batter on fish dry and crisp - perfect. Staff were welcoming and were disinfecting tables as soon as diners left. Condiments were individual servings and contactless was available.

Purtroppo era un sabato sera e il locale era tutto pieno (i tavoli nella sala non erano molti); dopo qualche incertezza, forse dovuta al gap linguistico, ci hanno proposto di sistemarci in un'altra sala, più dimessa e isolata. Abbiamo accettato, sollevati di non dover cercare un altro posto. Peccato che ci abbiano lasciati almeno 20 minuti senza prendere le ordinazioni; intanto l'unico altro tavolo nella nostra sala è stato occupato da un gruppo di giovani visibilmente già alterati dai festeggiamenti del weekend... Non è stata una cena tranquilla, peccato perchè alla fine abbiamo mangiato un'ottima cullen skink, una zuppa di pomodoro troppo acida, e due buoni secondi, polpette di scampi e di pollo; anche la birra era buona, come già sapevano i nostri vicini di tavolo...Anche pagare è stato complicato, ma almeno abbiamo scoperto che la parte del locale destinata a pub, al di là del bancone, era molto più accogliente. Abbiamo speso 34 £, poco per quello che abbimo mangiato, peccato che l'ambiente non ci abbia permesso di apprezzare appieno le pietanze.

Met some friends for lunch here. There is an extensive menu to suit all tastes from veggie meals to sandwiches, baked potatoes, main courses and daily specials. We asked for half portions which was not a problem. The food was excellent as was the service. There is also a lovely beer garden for when the weather is good. The only negative is that the decor is rather tired. Would certainly recommend.

Took the 11.20 am coast rider bus to Stonehaven. arrive 1.05 pm. Took a walk up Evan street to the Belvedere Hotel for favourite lunch . soup and a sandwich.Hotel very quiet but it was a Monday afternoon inFebruary. We both had the delicious carrot and corrieander soup.also a tuno mayo sandwich with brown bread. cost £7.50 for soup and sandwich. a bottle of carlsberg cost £3.10.Yes well worth the 10 minute walk up the hill.

Went here for lunch on Christmas Day. Was not disappointed. The food and service were excellent. The staff are a credit to the management. Will definitely be back for a meal the next time I am in Stonehaven.

It was a quiet lunch and our food was delicious. The menu is standard bar fare with plenty of choice all at a reasonable price. The staff were pleasant, helpful and service was quite quick.

Rooms were sweet, en suite, good for small families. We enjoyed the full Scottish breakfast as well as a delicious dinner.

A very good 3 day stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are small clean and a bit dated and can a challenge to reach if on the top floor however the bar was lively (Good music) and breakfast was excellent. Excellent value for money and a good base to explore Stonehaven.

As I was planning our second family reunion meal for 19 family members from Stonehaven, Banchory, Montrose, Oldmeldrum, Denny and Manchester I had to be sure the venue was right. We used The Belvedere two years ago and the food and service were excellent! So, why fix it if it’s not broken? When I rang weeks in advance to book I was told the date was on the busiest weekend of the summer, the Stonehaven Folk Festival but, our booking was duly taken. We prebooked our menu choices and arrived on the 13th July to a busy hotel and bar and a very warm welcome. We spent the next two and and half hours eating drinking and having a great time. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. They knew exactly who had ordered what with no hassle. The content and presentation of every dish was so very good! Portions were generous. Everything was just right! Our compliments to the chef! . The lady who looked after us for the entire meal was so friendly and professional but had a bit of banter with us all. I must apologise for not remembering your name (I’m rubbish at remembering anyone’s name!).Take a bow Belvedere Hotel. Everyone spoke highly of the event. I can’t recommend this hotel restaurant enough. 5/5

This was our favorite of 3 places we stayed in the area - great location and value. Cozy, friendly atmosphere. We had a nice view from our 3rd floor twin room. Comfortable and quiet at night. Really lovely beer garden.

Good food hotel but a bit pricey on the drinks , beside the local library , also not much parking ..

Popped in for a meal with my friend. Had the chilli and it was so good. One of the best I have enjoyed. Great service and they really don't rush you out. Definitely one to go back to.

We stopped here for dinner last Tuesday hoping for a quick and tasty mid week meal. 10 minutes after arrival we were shown to our table, a further 45 minutes passed before we received our starters. Attention to detail was non existent as one plate had dressing on the salad and the other didn’t. All in all, the food was average, the dining room was cold and the wait was unacceptable. Won’t be hurrying back.

Ho avuto modo di fermarmi con la mia famiglia in questo hotel. Camera tripla adattata a quadrupla. Confortevole e con spazi adeguati. Bagno in camera piccolo (non tutte le camere lo hanno). Mancano un po' di appendini, per il resto tutto ok. Colazione con dolce e salato. Forniscono un elenco di cose tra cui scegliere a fianco delle quali è indicato il prezzo. Questo può ingannare, perché in realtà per chi ha pernottato è compreso...questo ha creato qualche confusione anche a noi. Abbiamo anche cenato e devo dire che le portate sono buone, anche se non molto abbondanti. Prezzi nella norma. Personale molto cortese e disponibile. Per noi di sicuro un'esperienza molto positiva.

Been in here a few times, gets a bit smelly stale grease etc. I ordered a steak well done, it came dripping with blood. I asked the waitress to re-cook seconds later she returned the blood was gone but now my steak was covered in grease, they had deep fried it. SHOCKING catering skills.

Went along with friends for a snack lunch, as it was a lovely sunny day we decided to have lunch in the Beer Garden. We all chose various sandwiches which were lovely and fresh from the extensive menue . The waitress who served us had a lovely personality.

Wir sind hier essen gegangen auf empfehlung. Das essen war ok. Hatten frittierte shrimps mit pommes und Salat. Als Dessert haben wir uns für Creme brulé entschieden. Diese war sehr fein. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Einrichtung des Restaurants ist etwas veraltet und man sollte es mal einwenig auffrischen.

Have eaten here a few times and booked again for a meal on New Years Eve. We were seated in the bar. Place was very busy but service was quick. Food was hot and as good as usual. We will eat here again. Recommended.

I had dinner here with my nephew who lives in the area and he made a good choice taking me to The Belvedere the staff are extremely friendly and efficient and most of the meals have the option of a smaller portion. Went for an evening meal in a party of five. I was impressed throughout my visit. Unlike some of the other local hotels, the Belvedere had more of a choice on the menu as well as a specials board. When the food arrived, it was good sized portions and very tasty. None of our party could find any fault in the food. Staff were pleasant and would go there again.

Went for first time tonight. Food was excellent and Staff very attentive and polite. It was our Daughters 9th birthday and a large table who were also enjoying there Meals sang Happy Birthday. Will certainly be returning very soon.

Went here for an evening meal with family. Staff very attentive prior to food arriving making sure we were ok for drinks . Meals were very nice and our party of 8 (4 kids ) cleared our plates . My eldest who is 6 said to the waitress "tell the chef mine was lovely " . Can't get a much better review than that .

I came here with family and I'm pleased with the service and food. The waiting staff were kind and talkative, and they checked in with us regularly, asking if our food was ok and if we needed more drinks. The wait for the food was short, and the food itself was very high quality.

Not the friendliest place after a hard day, left us all standing between kitchen and bar for ages as they wanted paid upfront before letting us in! We were a charity bicycle event, think that was obvious by our attire, hardly going to do a runner!

Met with a great welcome at the hotel. We were a bit early for evening meal but had the choice of eating in the bar or restaurant. Meals start at 5pm but my husband had finished his meal before 5pm. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Food excellent. Lovely beer garden at back too.

Första dagen åt vi Fish & Chips och den var god om inte annat lite smaklös. Lite salt på så ordnade det sig. Andra kvällen besökte vi restaurangen då Tolbooth blev en besvikelse. Åt då en mycket god och mättande Cullen Skink. Gammaldags inredning men mysigt och snabb och vänlig personal.

I regularly visit the bar at the belvedere with friends for food and/or a beer. It's friendly and welcoming, the food is honest pub grub, nothing too special but decent quality. The beer garden out the back is glorious on a sunny day.

We stayed at this hotel over the easter weekend and had a nice time. The Hotel is on a main street close to the town centre but far enough away from the harbour and beach so that we were not awakened every morning by noisy sea gulls. We ate in the hotel dining room each evening and were served by very friendly staff. A lot of locals seem to eat here which in my opinion is a sign they must be doing something right. Our room was on the first floor and had a view over the hotel gardens/beer garden. I suffer from coeliac disease but found plenty of gluten free food on the menu to keep me happy. I certainly would recommend this family run hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Arrived on Easter Monday four of us ordered morrocan lamb soup wich was really good then haddock and chips 4 drinks and a bottle of Chardonnay £80 good value for money will definitely be back.

We asked a fellow outside our Airbnb to recommend a restaurant we could walk to and he directed us to the Belvedere Restaurant. What a very good choice! The special of the day was Cullen Skink. I had to ask the waitress for specifics because a "skink" in the US of A is a small snake-like lizard. She laughed and quickly explained that it's a smoked haddock soup with potatoes. I decided to give it a try and was very pleasantly surprised at how delicious it is. I've since ordered the soup elsewhere, and while very good, it was nothing like that at the Belvedere. My wife had the baked potato with cheese and a small side salad. She called it "comfort food" and said it was excellent. We recommend the restaurant, definitely.

Had a light lunch - hot sandwich type lunch - service was reasonably quick to give menus and take drinks orders. However having to wait over half and hour to get our food after ordering was a bit disappointing - especially as it was lunchtime when most people have to get back to work. The food was tasty and well presented and worth waiting for but on a normal day I probably would have had to leave before it came out to get back to work. The dining area was clean and tidy and well presented. The one person serving and doing the bar was friendly and quite chatty. There was an extensive lunchtime menu. Worth a visit if you are not in a hurry. Would have had a higher rating if the wait had not been so long

Hubby and I were staying in Stonehaven for the weekend and the weather turned out amazing. We were looking for somewhere to have lunch that had a beer garden and we came across this place. The hotel seemed busy inside but we sat in the beer garden which is a walled area so a lovely sun trap. We did have to go inside to order and pay at the bar but the food was brought out to us. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Half portions were also available.

The bedroom was clean and tidy, he resturaunt had quite a good menu and the staff was very pleasant and sociable

We were a party of 10 looking for a late lunch. The owner who had just popped in to have her own lunch stayed to help out and arranged for a private room for our group. Our grand daughter Olivia received her meal for free (a special deal available that day). Two of the drinks were dispensed from the piped drinks dispenser in the bar and we were only charged for dashes of cordial. The menu clearly indicated food which was suitable for those with special dietary needs ie gluten/dairy free and vegetarian options but we were also made aware that the chef was willing to prepare a special meal if required. The chief managed to cope with all our special dietary needs gluten and dairy free.We played a quiz game while we waiting for our food, which all arrived promptly together. The food was hot, good portions and very tasty.All the staff were very friendly and the service was great.Highly recommended

As a local I have enjoyed countless meals and drinks, family celebrations, Christmas works parties, cocktails, afternoon teas and even a wedding here. I cannot recommend the food highly enough and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly.

We visited here today for lunch .. a great varied menu We were initially in the bar but it was so cold we had to move through to the dining room. I did mention this to the staff who stated that they had had workmen in and out all day and that the heating wasn't on .. if it was my bar and restaurant I would be supplying heating for my customers as I can't stand being uncomfortably cold whilst having lunch .The food itself was good and two of us had the lasagne with chips and coleslaw The other two had chicken gougons which were fine but unfortunately they were not homemade. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for x Overall if the heating had been on I'd have really enjoyed it .

Went in here for a spot of lunch today ,with cousins for a wee catch up ,hadn't been here for ages but we all agreed our meals were lovely , nice little bar and pleasant surroundings , typical pub grub , lasagne , gammon steak , and chilli burger were all scoffed up along with fudge cake and apple crumble , nicely sized portions and value for money , the service was ok , we will return

We visit the Belvedere at least once a week. There is a good varied menu, half portions available on bistro meals, and the "specials" change every day. The staff are friendly and efficient and remember our likes and dislikes. For a relaxed and friendly meal, I can recommend the Belvedere.

Having lunch at the hotels pub is a great experience. The Food(we had Fish'n'chips) was really good, and it seemed that this was a place for the locals, cause it was really many there at lunch time an early Friday afternoon.

Went to this establishment 2 nights in a row. Warm engaging pub and restaurant. One of the few places I've been able to find, where you can eat on the pub side also. Many establishments won't let you eat on the pub side. The pub area, also has a nice viewing area to the garden area in the back. Both nights, my wife and I sat next to some fun loving local women. The local Skink was great and the ales were great. The young lady serving us was fantastic. Wish I could remember her name, but as it turned out, she was from St. John's, Newfoundland, in Canada. Words don't really do this place Justice, if you're looking for a warm, Scottish Pub experience. I'm a Canadian, who will be telling my Canadian friends about Stoehaven, surrounding area and where to go and enjoy a nice evening out, at The Belvedere Hotel.

Stayed here for one night, room was comfortable, clean and well set out. We ate in the friendly bar, varied menu and reasonably priced. Food quality was very good, liked the fact they offered smaller portions for most of the choices. All staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was very good and well presented.

Stayed for 2 nights ,Family run,friendly,good Pub food,rooms clean,park car and walk to Restaurants,weather was fine so able to enjoy beer garden,off street parking,would recommend .

Guy at hotel bar was really nice and helpful, but the breakfast service lady was a total desaster. Asked for two "light bites" (a croissant with jam for each of us) got a plate with one small croissant. After I waited a couple minutes I asked for another one, the lady told us THEN that this was the last one... refills on coffee are a diy! Worst service in a two weeks journey! Ruined the whole stay at this hotel!

I've eaten here various times and have never been disappointed.They do really nice soups and sandwiches at a lunch time and the evening meals are always really nice! There is a great atmosphere when you eat in the bar area which can sometimes be lacking in the restaurant, but that's just my personal preference. Will definitely be back.

Wow what a selection of lovely home bakes and sandwiches . All fresh and delicious. Washed down with some lovely Prosecco( or tea,coffee if preferred) .A super afternoon spent catching up with friends. Made very welcome .

I can't recommend the Belvedere hotel enough! Situated a short 4min stroll from the beach. Wonderful, friendly staff! We stayed in a large & Immaculately clean room. Superb breakfasts served by a friendly and chatty lady each morning.A lovely bar run by the friendly and chatty owners. If we are ever in the area again we will stay again.

We've been here today; we ate a soup of the day, deep fried scampi, steak and ale pie but also haggis parcels with Drambuie sauce. Waiters were kind and prices were correct. In the back there is a nice beer garden. I recommend it.

Très bon accueil, malgré l'odeur de friture des cuisines du restaurant, qui a disparu dès l'arrivée dans la chambre. Cette dernière spacieuse (la numéro 4) et très propre, peut accueillir 2 à 6 personnes. Elle est équipée d'une petite salle de bain privative et parfaitement rénové. C'est calme, convivial, le petit déjeuné est copieux on y retrouve le typique full scottish breakfast, des œufs, des céréales et des toasts.

Good place for a beer outside. Secluded garden which catches the sun. Prices reasonable. Food is good varied menu with daily specials. Handy for further up the Town. Staff are friendly and there a good local atmosphere.

We were staying here for 2 days but sadly only ate here on the Saturday wife and I had the home made pate you could see it was home made and not cut to order I had the fish and chips man what a plate fish cooked to perfection chips so crisp you heard them crunch wife had the scampi and chips it was just the same perfection this was followed by a creme brule superb asked the man who was serving us to pass my thoughts to the chef. There's someone in that kitchen that knows how to cook not just what we had other diners where saying the same and a thanks as well to the waiting staff who couldn't do enough for you

Really lovely little pub that has a delightful beer garden full of beautiful plants, unfortunately it was raining when we were there.

We went along for a local couple & sat in the bar area although could have used the bistro area .Very good choice of local & traditional dishes along with a specials board which included a daily curry .On par with the area they do a mean Cullen skink !We all had something different & all enjoyed what we had . The service was excellent & friendly , we were sitting enjoying a chat & they apologised for the wait as a bit table had ordered before us , it didn't seem a long wait but I thought it was a nice considerate touch .We enjoyed our meal with several rounds of drinks but weren't at all rushed . Most of us had 3 courses & we all had several drinks , the bill came to under £120 so I thought it was very good value

We had dinner in the very comfortable and spacious dining room and although we were too early for the dinner times, the staff were most helpful by making sure we were served with a tasty and enjoyable meal

We parked in their off street parking and first thing out of the car was the wonderful smell of cooking. Checking in quickly and dropping bags I the very smart room with new furnishings carpet and ensuite we went to get food, rib eye steak was fantastic, onion rings battery tasted like doughnuts (yum) chips were crispy, peppercorn cream sauce was divine, pint of real ale washed it down nicely. Beer garden would be fantastic in warmer weather. Breakfast was tasty and the staff were excellent. All round five stars.

We had a reunion at the Belvedere Hotel and the Food was out standing and the room we were in was fantastic, the meal also was very good value, been many times, and will go many times more.This hotel serves Couples, Business, etc..

Accueil chaleureux de la propriétaire, ambiance so scottish, patron très sympathique, qui n’a pas hésité à faire goûter trois bières différentes pour mieux choisir selon notre goût (la best !), service impeccable, cuisine savoureuse et copieuse (deux possibilités de portions : une petite et une grande). En résumé, un excellent rapport qualité prix ! A recommander.

9 of our family had a wonderful meal here this evening. We had booked the table the day before and was advised they were extremely busy so our table would have to be in the bar. Despite having a 1 year old and 6 year old with us I was happy to be in the bar as it's a very friendly atmosphere and not at all rowdy. Whilst taking our order we were advised that the table was required back at 8pm (we were booked for 5.30pm). I didn't have an issue with that but would have preferred to have been told at the time of booking out of courtesy. We all generally had 3 courses and the mains varied from chicken fillets to t bone steak. Every part of the meal was delicious, fresh and plentiful. The staff were attentive but not over bearing and extremely friendly towards my 1 year old. My brother in law noticed the cocktail menu on the table. Big mistake - as the cocktails were delicious and now I know I do them we will definitely be there more regularly!!!!!My only 2 niggles were (as I am recovering from surgery I am unable to lift or change my daughter so it's husbands duty) there is no baby changing in the gents toilet (the staff very helpfully allowed them into ladies to change) but in this day and age there should be baby change in the gents. And my daughter wasn't offered vegetables with her chicken and chips. However, a wonderful meal and experience which confirmed to me that the Belvedere is by far the best establishment in Stonehaven.

A big thank you to Sheila and staff for all help and attention last night at birthday party. Food and service was outstanding and good time had by all.

Wir kamen sehr spät in diesem Hotel an (ca 23:00Uhr). Wir hatten nicht vorhher gebucht aber es waren noch zwei Doppelzimmer frei. Eins mit Dusche auf dem Zimmer und eins mit Gemeinschaftsbad. Letzteres haben wir genommen. Es war sehr alt eingerichtet und der Teppich sah sehr schmutzig aus. Außerdem war die Dusche im oberen Stock kaputt und somit mussten wir ein Stockwerk tiefer (etwas umständlich aber dafür war dieses Badezimmer renoviert). Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und das Personal sehr freundlich.

We had dinner here with the family and sat in the restaurant as opposed to the bar area. It was quiet but as it was a Tuesday night maybe this was to be expected. Food arrived quickly and my fish n chips were well cooked and really enjoyable. Unfortunately the kids meal fish n chips appeared to be cooked in different batter and this wasn't as nice. However the staff were attentive without being overbearing, friendly and efficient. We'd go back, but maybe pick the kids meal more carefully next time.

Had lunch here on a Saturday with friends. Can definitely recommend. Something on the menu for everyone, good choices and variety. They also have a 'todays special ' in addition to the menu. Service excellent.
