My partner and I visited The Pepperpot with a couple of family members for Sunday lunch. We took advantage of the three-course set lunch (priced at £20.95) which had a good choice of roast meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes included

Gutted because this was my favourite chippy in Edinburgh but it appears to have closed. Cannot find a listing for it anymore on JustEat etc and was shut last time I went past.

Nice restaurant and nice atmosphere. My oysters didn’t seem right I ordered Whole lobster thermidor at £68. Very disappointed. It wasn’t whole. This lobster had no claws. It was dry and served on it own on a plate with a side tin of fries. No garnish to dress it up or make it look special. I didn’t complain because it would ruin the evening Wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend The bottle of Rioja was nice. My wife’s dish looked lovely.

It was an incredible experience. As seafood lovers, the tasting menu was a lot of fun. Some highs, some lows (mostly to do with salt), but overall, we were very happy. The 'corn dog' at the beginning was delightful, crispy, smoky, hot, and slightly spicy. The second course was my favourite. I called it shreddies with fish. I've never had such a well-balanced and tasty bowl of shreddies! I would say the petals were a little unnecessary. It was such a different style of dish than I've ever had before, with the cubes of trout delicately nestled at the bottom of the bowl that . More pickles would have been welcomed, though. The third course was the difficult one for us. We love mussles! And I absolutely adore fresh tarragon, so the flavours were spot on. The only issue was the broth. It was so salty that we were craving something unsalted to balance it. I decided to order bread. which, as a standalone course, was fantastic. It was a paprika foccacia that felt like cornbread and tasted smoky and salty with a smoked salt butter. So delicious! But it definitely didn't work or help with the mussel broth. The fourth fish course was absolutely amazing. The fish melted in the mouth. Again, it was possibly a little salty and needed some more sharp flavours to cut through it. But overall, I couldn't get enough of it. The dessert, despite being far too full, was one of the best desserts I've ever had. They managed to make rhubarb not slimy! And that sharp lime flavour was so tasty and very welcomed after all the sodium we had indulged on. We would love to come back!

Great food, excellent service! The lad at the counter was so very nice and helpful, got the best fish and chips I've ever had (though I'm a tourist and haven't had that many) portion was huge and just for £12.5 only downside is that there is only one table inside right by the frying station, but there is bench outside and it was actually quite nice to eat there
