The best restaurants in Scotland

Did have an issue with my fish and chips, chips very dark and greasy, but was rectified fast and food was delicious.

This was a chipper we would never go by when we sailed into Girvan as it was so good. We were going through there on Sunday afternoon by road and decided to get our supper and eat it further up the road to our destination. I bought 2 fish suppers and when we opened them (the 2 bits of fish were burnt and you could hardly make out the fish from the batter and the chips were not cooked long enough) . They were unedible. If I was passing through there again and went in I would hope the quality of their product was vastly improved.

Qué fabuloso almuerzo del Día de la Madre que acabamos de disfrutar. Comida deliciosa con un excelente servicio de Logan - que gran activo para el negocio. Disfrutamos del parfait de hígado de pollo y entrantes de salmón ahumado seguido de la carne asada y compartimos una tarta de cidra. Cada bocado estaba delicioso. Buen toque de un Prosecco comp para las mamás. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestra primera visita y sin duda volveremos y lo recomendaría encarecidamente como un gran lugar para comer en Edimburgo. Excelente relación calidad-precio también.

Enjoyed a fabulous night at No. 5 Inn, Alva. We were a party of over 50 in number, and every single person had a super meal. That takes some organisation to have everyone served with hot, home cooked food at same time! Food was great value, excellent portions and freshly cooked. Lovely, friendly service too. Altogether excellent!

Excelente almuerzo de aniversario. Todos los platos eran deliciosos, amable y atento personal y buena relación calidad-precio de la comida. Burrata, gambas de chile para empezar, seguido de pescado de mercado (merluza - delicioso) y salsa de salmón y langosta pasta. Helado de afgota y menta y bollo choux de chocolate para terminar.

This used to be a great wee place. It's sadly gone downhill. Told we had to wait, which was no issue, but when we got to our table, we had to another 10mins, only to be told they were only taking drinks orders. Ordered a coffee and a soft drink, and it arrived and was drunk before the food order was taken 15mins later!! It's tasty food, but the portions are small, and it's expensive for what you get. My hubby stood at the till for 10mins waiting to pay. Staff were coming and going, and not one apologised for the delay. It used to have a lovely atmosphere with the staff being chatty and helpful. All that is gone, and we are sad to say that we won't return in a hurry. Such a shame.

Disappointed…went for breakfast. Discovered that they no longer provide gluten free bread/ bagels. So went to Abbey Fine Wines who do delicious gluten free scones.

Very tasty dish, charming waitress. Very good value for money!

Había pasado por Cairngorm Coffee un par de veces antes, y hoy decidí parar y comprar un café. Después de pagar por mi café, miré hacia arriba para agradecer a mi servidor y la cogí mirando hacia mí. No tengo idea de lo que hice para merecerlo. Cuando estaba esperando mi café me di cuenta de varias moscas en el área de preparación de alimentos, y si me hubiera dado cuenta antes habría salido sin comprar nada. El café estaba bien, pero hay varios cafés en Edimburgo produciendo café mucho mejor por un 25% menos y con personal bien educado.

Was as good as promised! Very clean, cheery, and comfortable interior to have breakfast in, lots of great food, pastries and coffees, perfect 👍

Great place to meet up ! All had breakfast rolls or light lunch and ice creams / sundaes. Plenty of choice and a good price. The play park was perfect for the kids. Definitely be back.

Not good if I’m honest. Night and day compared to last week’s SS+S at Dyce. Ordered fish supper and Mac pie supper and some misc items. Fish was wet/ batter was soaking ….chips greasy …. Every thing needed another 3 or 4 mins. Pie was great and the only positive. Puts you in a mood when you are paying £21 and drive from one part of town because you fancy a SS+S because it’s supposed to be great.

A wonderful ice cream parlour with great coffee and home baking. The ice cream flavours available are amazing. The home made cakes cater for allergy intolerances. Worth trying out some of the tropical and asian flavours.
