The best restaurants in Yorkshire and The Humber

A lovely modern take on an Indian restaurant with goan style food. We had the chat starter, dal and 3 diff curries (including a fish curry), all delicious. Service could have been a bit better, but I would for sure go back.

We went to the Bruno Mars Tribute night yesterday, disappointing is an understatement, there were 6 of us and 2 of the guest were regulars, initial thoughts were that the restaurant looked inviting, décor was quite appropriate for an up market diner and the staff were pleasant. That's were the compliments stopped, the table service was slow, I ordered a simple G&T, three times she came back and asked if I could change it as they had run out of things, this was the start of the evening not the end. The Sea Bass Starter arrived and it was very well presented but over cooked, the Pork main course was very slow to arrive, but when it did it looked very nice but after tasting it, it was disappointing, fatty and stringy. I went to the bar and ordered 6 porn star cocktails, one for each of us, I was asked to pay £66 upfront for them, this felt very insulting, maybe the owner thought I was doing a dine and dash, now the group I was with are all very seasoned cocktail drinkers, but not one cocktail was finished, everyone of us after tasting them refused to drink them, they tasted disgusting. Normally I would just let this ride but having had the upfront payment debacle I decided I should mention this to the waitress, I very politely told her the situation and she assured us she would speak to the owner, that was the last we heard of it, not a sorry or even an offer to remake them, nothing. Shortly after this we left even before the act had finished. As a tribute act, Bruno Mars was great and the ladies loved him, as for the Dining it was so disappointing, the bill with a few drinks came to almost £700 for the 6 of us, in our opinion, not worth anything like that.

El personal era muy atento nada era demasiado problema. La comida fue ejemplar cocinado a la orden. Buen producto fresco casero. Nos alojamos 2 noches de cena bed and breakfast y sin duda volveremos de nuevo. Hotel impecablemente limpio con una historia realmente interesante. Decorado con buen gusto. Gracias a un equipo de personal encantador.

Nice place, food was good value but the service was very slow, waited 1hr and 15 minutes for our food, asked twice, no apology until we paid and they were challenged.

Great hotel. Fantastic location a short walk from the city. Pre booked the parking space. Had cocktails in the bar. Also breakfast on Saturday morning. Good variety of options and table service. Lovely bed and lovely furnishings. Very enjoyable stay.

Good meeting point or finishing point if you travel by train/bus as not far from the station.

What a beautiful village Bainbridge is and with a Tea Room/Bakery in a prime location. A huge disappointment was not at all what I was expecting.. No welcome when entering the establishment. I sat at a table observing that there were five other patrons, two tables of two and a single gentlemen. I read the menu and was looking forward to ordering a cooked breakfast. I sat for a total of 23 minutes whilst a young man served tea, bacon rolls and scones to the other patron he never ONCE acknowledged my presence. I eventually decided to leave. Not sure how to draw a positive from this experience, but I shall not be recommending it in my reviews here or elsewhere. Visit 27/03/2025

Great coffee, staff are very friendly and welcoming.Would definitely come back for lunch as it looked and smelled lovely.

Really nice little restaurant. I had the spicy chicken sandwich which was delicious! My son had Bolognese which he said was 'the best'. The atmosphere was nice, lovely easy listening music. The staff and service was very good. Thank you.
