We had a weekend trip in York and whilst we were visiting the shambles we stopped at the Shambles Korner for lunch. Very nice place with a very good atmosphere! A big shout out to Masum for being so welcoming and attentive, as soon we stepped in he helped us finding a table, he walked us through the menu, our drinks arrived fast and the food was very delicious. Masum is an example of how customer service should be: he is very friendly, he is engaging with all the customers and he is always smiling! P.S he recommended us the Shambles pancakes which to be honest was the highlight of our day! Thank you, Masum & team!

Visited in December 2024 while Christmas shopping. Ordered a toastie, fishfinger sandwich and shared a portion of chips. All the food was lovely. We would both have had the fishfinger sandwiches if I had known they were breaded. It said battered on the menu. We ended up sharing each dish. The chips were seasoned and really tasty. Friendly staff. Would definitely visit again.

Food was amazing !!! Really friendly polite staff. Food for two with drinks and little one so good price too. Will come again, didn't manage photos too busy eating.

Fantastic gem of a place! Had the eggs bene croissant, the shambles brekkie and maple chai latte - they were all delicious. Excellent customer service and friendly staff. This place is halal friendly which is an extra bonus for us. If you are looking for a cosy place that offers brunch, this place is definitely a go to! Will definitely go here again!

Had an amazing brunch here - run by a lovely family providing a range of halal food. Very cosy and can get quite busy. Drinks were lovely too - really enjoyed the mojito and maple chai latte.

Lovely little cafe with interesting options

A little gem which we found by chance on a day visit to York 30th December. Both my husband and I had breakfast which was very fresh and tasty. The girl who served us was extremely friendly and welcoming. She definitely made our visit. Would highly recommend.

An absolutely excellent experience. On arrival very warmly greeted by staff and instantly shown to seating with very helpful and friendly waiter service. Excellent customer service, an excellent Menu with a vast range of food and drink. Excellent range of freshly cooked meals. Very large and extensive range of both hot and cold drinks and food. Situated in the very heart of York and located on - looking the York market area. Would completely recommend and definitely for a very nice chilled and enjoyable experience. A definite must. Were very lucky to get a table considering it was weekend and Christmas Market was still on. Had a great cup of coffee and some brunch. We had the veg breakfast and eggs benedict. Great service and lovely space Pet friendly. Would recommend.

Estaba caminando por York y le apetecía una taza, buena cerveza y personal educado, buena ubicación también en el centro de York, estaba muy ocupado y un poco superpoblado.

Llamé para un té crema. Costo £ 5 - 95 cada uno para mi esposa y yo. Nos sirvieron 2 tés sin preguntar tan obviamente estaba incluido. Al pagar la cuenta. Pagué más de 17 libras en mi tarjeta. Pregunté la cuenta y me dijeron que el té es extra. Él no se echó atrás. Incluso después de que Google declare en qué consiste un té crema. Muy insatisfecho con el servicio. Vuelve el viento.

Shambles Korner did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a relaxing atmosphere and soothing ambience that made for a perfect start to the day. We opted for the Full English Breakfast, and it was nothing short of exceptional—easily a 10/10! Whether you’re visiting York or a local looking for a great spot, I highly recommend Shambles Korner for a relaxed, high-quality service and food!

Called in here today 2/12/24 Ordered Afternoon Tea Approx £5-75 We were asked which type of tea we would prefer. We just said, ordinary black tea please. Two cups of tea arrived. 10/15 mins later a scone with small amount of jam/cream came. When we went to pay the bill the total amount was £17-50. I obviously questioned this and was told, Afternoon tea was the scone.!!!! Afternoon tea is suppose to include a cup of tea, isn't it? If I'm correct I think the owners need to alter their description to Scone/jam/cream Wouldn't go back

Visited for breakfast and had the Eggs Royale. Lovely dish and well presented with a good amount of food. Service was fast and friendly. The place is not huge so you may find it full especially at busy times. Recommended.

Perfect in every way. Spinach smoothie was amazing, great med salad and pizza. Great service, great food - and very relaxed!

An absolutely great place to have brunch in York, well placed just out of the way of the Shambles so you can have the bustling atmosphere without it being too noisy and overwhelming. We sat outside and it was lovely. The food was also great, large portion sizes and nicely cooked. Had the spicy hash and fish finger sandwich and loved both. Service was also top quality, all had a smile on their face and were super friendly and helpful. Would 100% recommend and commend them for not putting prices up and lowering food quality just because it’s in a tourist spot. Very pleasantly surprised!

Shambles Korner could definitely be not only named after its location but mainly for food that is being served up there. I cannot recollect having such poor food for a very long time while eating out. My son's shambles burger looked and tasted as it would have been the cheapest and poorest quality of meat, while my fish finger sandwich had two small, overcooked and super fatty fish fingers of very questionable quality. Chips tasted as would have been cooked in oil that was used for far too long. A very small portion of so called spaghetti bolognese, which I ordered for my 2 years old son, was minging and cost us almost £7. The only positive when it comes to food was asparagus halloumi. Service and atmosphere below average. Even if I was very hungry I would not be back here again. Shambles.

What a find!! Right in the heart of the Shambles in York. Shambles Korner caters for all foodies, coffee lovers and everyone in between. Great calm atmosphere, superb food, excellent coffees and absolutely lovely staff. So polite and welcoming. Prices are very competitive and vegan options available too. What a lovely place to eat. even better.... dogs are welcome too. A must visit.

This is an absolutely brilliant place for brunch. The food is amazingly fresh and presented well with lovely background music. The staff are very polite and helpful, talked with the owner who was very enthusiastic about the food and the cafe, a very friendly gentleman. Fully recommend this place. You should definitely try.

I went to this fabulous cafe near Shambles a few days ago. What an absolute gem of a place to find! I had halloumi and pesto sandwich, and considering the taste and service, I would come back for more!

Amazing coffee, scones and brownies! Visited here with our friends and the coffee was fantastic and the scones were warm and full of flavour. The brownies were absolutely incredible. We will be back, thank you!

Nice cafe on the edge of the Shambles Market. Only had a drink so can't comment on the food, but it looked nice - standard fayre of lasagne, fish fingers and chips.

in expensive for York with quick service and some very good food (especially the fries) means this is one of the better Cafe/restaurants in York for those on a budget. also the location is really nice just excellent for grabbing a bite while shopping

Everything is sooooooo good! From pizza to pasta, to salad and many more! We kept saying that foods are delicious while we're chewing them! Staffs are also nice and friendly! 😂 💯💯

We had a great breakfast on Sunday 18th August, served to us by Lilly, who was jolly and friendly, describing things to us we weren't sure about and making good recommendations. We had eggs royale and Shambles Scrambles, with a smoothie and a lassie. A great start to the day!

A gem of a cafe to escape York's often busy streets. We were wandering the streets of York around lunchtime and passed many busy restaurants and cafes that seemed busy and unappealing. Shambles Korner stuck out immediately as a quaint and quiet cafe just off the market square. The cafe is quite small, with six or seven two person tables inside and a further three or four tables outside. This was perfect, however, as it gave a lovely quiet and relaxed experience inside. This was guaranteed with the calming music inside and the delightfully gentle manner of the waiter that served us. The contrast with the busy streets outside was perfect. We had a light lunch, with one person having a chicken burger and chips and the other a grilled halloumi and pesto sandwich with chips. The meals arrived quickly, fifteen minutes or so, and were delicious. The chips were cooked well, but were a bit crisp. This seemed likely due to the choice of potato variety rather than the quality of the coking. This is a very minor criticism, however, as the overall meal was very flavoursome and attractive. The latte I ordered was also one of the best I've had in my life. Perfectly smooth and not too bitter. I would come back to Shambles Korner just for the coffee, and will happily return for another meal on my next visit to York.

Visited this amazing little Cafe today. A good range of food served from breakfast, brunch, pizzas, pasta and desserts, brilliant service and very kind staff. We had the halloumi asparagus and chicken asparagus pizza; which was delicious. Thank you, we will be back again 😊

Perfect spot for brunch, Delicious and 100% Halal Brunch at Shambles Koner; enjoyed a delightful brunch that included chicken asparagus pizza , halloumi asparagus and Nutella special sundae. The restaurant has a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. It's a great spot for meal with friends or family.The food was absolutely delicious. The chicken was tender and flavourful, the asparagus was cooked to perfection, and the pizza was mouth-wateringly good. I was particularly impressed by the fact that all the dishes were 100% halal, which is important for me and adds to the appeal of this restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great halal dining option. And the service was on point. Would definitely come back.

We went to this restaurant couple of times on our visit. The place is quite small, however, on every occasion there was only one person serving. The Bombay style and the chicken burger that I tried was just ok. Nothing to rave about. No highchair available!

Fantsatic full english breakfast that set us up nicely for a day out in York. Huge plateful of tasty food - sausages, bacon, 2 eggs, beens, tomato and sour dough bread. Even had salad on the plate which whilst strange is non offensive. Table next to us had salmon eggs benedict, and wow, it looked and smelled amazing too. Breakfast for 2 including tea and orange juice was £30 - great value for what we had, especially in comparison to the Shambles market stalls selling a pasty for £6 and a cup of tea for £5. Lovely owner, and excellent service. Would absolutely go back again.

Had a wonderful time here with my bff, we don’t often find cafes that serve halal food and also have such a wide variety on the menu. The staff was super nice too, really helped when we had questions about the food and everything.

The food was to die for and it was so comforting and aesthetic to dine and drink from classy plates and presentation in a small, quaint cafe near the market. Me and my family ordered bruscettas, Calamari and a few other side dishes as a sort of tapas and it didn't disappoint. The Staff were so welcoming to us and our dog I would wholeheartedly recommend it!

The food I had was amazing and the child friendliness was on top too and everyone was so nice. Shambles korner is a nice place to hangout and it’s a nice quiet place to do things!

I had the strawberry cheesecake and the Affogato here. The food and the presentation were really nice. The portion of the cheesecake was generous and the strawberries were fresh. I ordered the freshly made bread for my baby and he enjoyed it. The staff are really nice and the food is reasonably priced. Totally recommend

Wonderful Service, BEST brunch ever. 100 percent halal, not many places like this around York however we were welcomed with wonderful smiles and staff who were very accommodating. Left feeling very full, and delighted in the wonderful brunch we have had. Friends commented ‘I have never been so impressed with a brunch place in York’ Will defo be back! We all got the English Brekki !

First time visiting shambles korner really nice banofee waffle.

First time I’ve been to Henshelwoods in 5 months. I used to pay £4/4.5 per sandwich. I however went in yesterday and the same sandwich I used to get was £7.50. I don’t normally review places but o was very disappointed in the price for a sandwich

Delightful single origin espresso from Peru! Cute shop with what looks to be quality goods. I could definitely see myself coming back to pick up gifts.

Got charged £4 for a salad and hummus sandwich which was the only vegan filling available. The woman serving had just prepared a beef sandwich and didn't bother to change her gloves despite me asking for vegan options.... Very disappointed, won't be returning.

To begin it is worth noting that this deli is open, maybe the Tripadvisor account needs to be updated? Great selection of stock, really varied. Got a lovely chorizo and Manchego sandwich today for the train, well worth a visit!

I went in to try and buy a jar of onion marmalade. They had no jars, but kindly gave me a small pot from the jar in their fridge which they use in sandwiches. Great service. I'll be back soon to actually buy something .
