Me & the wife had a lovely evening celebrating her birthday. The food was so tasty & the mocktails were very refreshing. Nice surprise by the staff who were great throughout the whole evening. Will definitely be back

Wonderful food and service is this small and warming little restaurant. Highly recommend to anyone, we had the lamb biryani and de baga house chicken curry, both exceptional. We'll definitely be back soon.

The restaurant has a great happy vibrant atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and helpful. There is a lot more room in the restaurant than it looks from the front. It’s lovely inside. I have coeliac disease and have no issues getting gluten free food here, the staff are aware.

Great food again this evening . We arrived just as they were opening and were made to feel very welcome. Much bigger inside than it appears from the road, a lovely ambience and decorated to a very high standard. Staff were all attentive and friendly as usual. The jewel of Chapel Allerton.

Just had a really nice meal here. We ordered two starters and two mains which were all delicious 😋 the mains took a while to come but that shows how fresh the food is. The lamb in the biryani was so juicy and tender and the green chicken curry is chefs kiss 💋 to top it all the service was excellent. Every single member of staff had a smile on their face and always ready to assist. The manager was also really friendly and witnessed him going that extra mile with guests. Thank you de baga, we will be back again!

This is one of the best Indian restaurants, you will not be disappointed! Staff are great and the food is super tasty! De Baga chicken house curry is my fave and a must for newbies. Can thoroughly recommend ❤️

Went with my husband to Rafi night. What a night amazing music, singer was spot on with the songs. We had a buffet meal. It was little disorganised but that's due to customers all going for food at once rather than waiting. Food was lovely but nit alot of choice in the buffet. It was very limited and there was only one dessert gulab jamun [without ice cream!!]. I had seen menu on social media and was really hoping to try something different from Goa foods but was disappointed with the menu choice. It was the usual Indian cuisine. Perhaps next time have more selection or alternatively allow customers to order a 3 course of their choice in the price.

Food was great and nice locally brewed beers. Staff were very friendly. House curry was delicious.

Food is delicious with dishes not seen on your classic British Indian menu. We’ve visited multiple times and everything on the menu has been delicious, and much lighter than classic heavy curries. Service is always wonderful and very friendly. Would highly recommend and we will definitely keep coming back!

De Baga is an absolutely superb Indian dining experience. The food is incredibly tasty and authentic in a lovely upmarket environment with engaging and helpful service! It's rare to find something of this quality. You must try it if youve not been already. Well done to the owners and staff. And especially the chefs!

I've been to many Indian restaurants in & around Leeds & this was my first time to visit De Baga at Chapel Allerton & won't be the last. This place is excellent. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the lovely decor & beautiful smell of food. The choice of food & drinks are fantastic. The service & quality of food is first class. I would go as far to say that this was the best Indian food I've had. Well done & keep up the excellent food & service.

Arrived early seated straight away , waitress very pleasant , ordered poppadoms and picked which were ok, starter mix sizzler which was fair the garlic dip was shop bought , mains then were the big let down 40 minutes after the starter we were sat looking round and other tables were been served main was fair but , not in the same league as jodhpurs kirkstall road in my opinion

Had our first visit here after seeing family. Absolutely fabulous food and genuinely authentic. Great service, super friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Fabulous fish starter, and delicious mains. If you want the best in Chapel Allerton, and good value for money, seriously look no further. Thanks for a fab evening, will be back when visiting again. A

We were a family of 6, we weren’t rushed to our table which was lovely as we could have a drink first. We were seated and promptly asked if we wanted anymore drinks. The waiting staff were very good. The food was absolutely delicious everyone had a different food choice and they all had different flavours. They did miss one order out but quickly sorted that out. We can’t fault it at all and we will definitely be going back.

Food was gorgeous but the price was way too high for the portion sizes. Service was slow and the music was so loud we couldn't hear the waiters.

Tip top. It was a super choice and i will Be back. Our servers were new but full of smiles and authentic concern for us to have a great experience I have an enormous client base struggle in UK to entertain my vip’s from India! This place is the solution and not least for attention to details but for authentically spiced and flavoured staples, minimal use of oil instead cooking meat with ghee to temperature not time means the chicken biryani and the mutton curry were honestly out of this world Not sure about the butterfly thing on the coconut ice cream but we will let you off! 🤣😂

I was excited to try De Baga. I thought the environment was lovely, both inside and out with its own charm. The service was attentive and pleasant. I ordered a non alcoholic cocktail with black salt which was a mistake but I saw quite a few people drink so personal taste I guess. The starter was lovely, a fried aubergine and broccoli dish. We waited a long time for the main but my husband ordered lamb shank so I guess that is to be expected. He was happy with his dish, I however, wasn't. I ordered the Dhal Makani. It was under the main curry dishes so I thought it would be substantial. It was really just a bowl and nice flavoured curry sauce, there were very few lentils or beans in there. It just didn't feel like it was an adequate meal. The flavour was good but it lacked the body of a dhal. I always think a thali plate is wonderful if you prefer vegan food as it gives variety. Just a thought.

I bought a vegetable biriani for £10 at the Chapel Allerton festival but it was essentially rice with no vegetables.

De Baga is such a nice place to eat, I’ve been here several times now with friends for different occasions & it has never disappointed. Went here recently with a friend for her birthday & the food was amazing, we were made to feel so special, the staff checked on us throughout & made personal recommendations for dessert which was superb. It’s not often you find an establishment that ticks all the boxes in terms of delicious food, amazing staff & beautiful decor. We will be back again soon!

Good lively place. Decor and bar to a high standard and good service, which was reasonably attentive. Seafood samosas to start were too sweet and jammy. Seafood sizzler to follow was fine. Good but not spectacular. Both dishes would've been better for some more sauce.

Watched the euros final here. Staff were so friendly and got us great seats. The food was absolutely amazing, beautifully prepared with fantastic flavour. Probably the best curry I've had in a few years at least, can't wait to return.

Sat there for 45 minutes waiting for someone to take our order. Asked twice, waitress came over to ask if we were ready, then disappeared. Ended up leaving without even being offered a drink. Incredibly disappointing and a huge waste of time. Chapel Allerton has far more attentive restaurants to offer.

Visited De Baga Indian restaurant on a bank holiday weekend. The size of the restaurant is quite deceptive looking from the front. Ordered some poppadoms, was surprised these only came with a couple of pickles/chutneys. Skipped the starters and went just for mains, had NH66 mutton curry and daal Bukhara curry with coriander and onion naan. Not had mutton before, it was quite a strong, almost gamey flavour. It was a nice dish but seemed to lack complex tastes and flavours. The service at de baga was really good, all the staff were really friendly and polite. There was a karaoke night on which made for a lively atmosphere in the restaurant.

Fantastic food!We had about 7 different dishes and they were all delicious!Shame they didn’t have any okra dishes but hey , hopefully next time! Service is fast, staff is very polite and the place is clean. Highly recommended

Dined in here for the first time. Got off to a bit of a shaky start as my cocktail was spilled and it took a long time for our order to be taken. However the cocktail was absolutely stunning, got to be in my top 5 cocktails ever. I think it was the "Tabula Beach" one? Hopefully remembering right! It was sweet but not too sweet, aromatic and refreshing. For my starter I got the Baga 65 which was just okay, didn't wow me. My partner had the squid which he said was nice. For my main I ordered the Goan lamb shank. WOW! It was phenomenal, amazing flavours. Big portion. I would highly recommend ordering it with the sweet naan and / or saffron rice (I had it with a bit of both, in fact we ordered another sweet naan) I originally had it with plain rice and it was not as enjoyable as with the delicious sweet naan and saffron rice. It was so tasty. My partner had the mutton curry and said it was lovely. I personally found the mutton taste too strong, but that is just personal preference. The bartender waitress with glasses was lovely, friendly and very prompt when I wanted to order another of the delicious cocktails. Will go again some time in the future.

Usually order from here. Items were incorrect and the quality of the food was awful today. Very disappointing since usually the food is great. Maybe the chef called in sick today. Deliveroo didn't help either, no refunds

Exciting new dining outdoor/indoor space. Watch the world go by as you dine with friends/family. Vegan options especially the thali was exceptional and hope that is never removed from the lunchtime menu. A new menu has been introduced and has many options for all dietary requirements. If you've not tried it yet add it to your list of go to places in Chapel A, you won't be disappointed. All the staff from Management to front of house are very friendly, attentive and strive to make sure your dining experience is a pleasurable one. We'll done!! 10/10 😉

Curry was outstanding and naan was sooo smooth and buttery

We have ordered food from this place many times. Food used to be very good, that is why we did multiple orders. But the last 2-3 times have been a bad experience. Simple veg dishes did not have enough salt or spice, like as though nothing was added in the first place. Food sent was very cold as well, like it was just out of the fridge.

This place is hands down the best spot of indian food in Leeds city and possibly whole UK, the service is amazing and so energetic, thank you “Anisha” for the wonderful service provided by you. the food is so sp good and fresh I absolutely love it, I've been here now four times since we first went and I absolutely love it. We had the weekend roast. As a vegetarian it was paneer which was perfecly seasoned and cooked. The whole plate was delicious. Thisbis not a traditional roast but an asian twist which works. My suggestion would be ditch the fries and do some sort of south asian roasted potatoes instead. Also a bit more veg. Had a mocktail. A great range to pick from Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Finished with gulab jamun and icecream. Deffi be back!

A nice atmosphere, The food is one of the best ive had,the taste is unbelievable,ime sorry to say it is let down by its penny pinching going on,tiny poppadoms n pickle,sauces, the small amount of meat,in the curry is noticably low, the size of nan breads are small ,rice portions small,its as everything single item is scrutinised to the hilt to make sure you order more when for the amount charged one would think it,d be decent sized portions it is not ,i dont think the food leaves the chef without a micrometer being used its that precise ,waitress service hasnt a clue who ordered what or where, drinks are to expensive ,its a shame because it could be much better,staff on the whole are good ,decor and feel is also v good to high standard.

First Vist last night for dinner with my family. Gorgeous building with a fantastic atmosphere. Great service with a friendly smile. Because it was the weekend I had the weekend roast selecting the lamb shank. Started with tandoori Broccoli as well as poppadoms abd the popcorn. Popcorn a different level completely, truly delicious! The roast was,SPECTACULAR and huge! I am a man who lives large plates of food but this was massive anxd truly delicious Will be returning snd recommend the restaurant to everyone!

We were looking for a fantastic place to celebrate my birthday and the reviews for De Baga looked great. Well... to say we were blown away would be putting it mildly! The effort and welcome from the staff was incredible.. I was presented with lovely flowers and a card from the restaurant and a beautiful banner was above my seating area. That's even before we got to the meal! I've been to many restaurants, including Michelin star restaurants and so I feel qualified to say the food here is absolutely top notch also. Not just tasty, but artistic presentation matching the impeccable service. Seriously .. if you are looking for somewhere special, where you can dine and be treated like Royalty.. look no further! Thank you De Baga for an amazing meal and an unforgettable birthday. We will see you again soon!!

Attended a Diwali party last night. Was sceptical about going but by the end of the night, I didn't want to leave. The ambiance, over and above service, excellent food and entertainment finished off with a superb fireworks display. The staff worked hard to ensure the customers enjoyed the experience. I must recommend the cocktails on offer and would definitely recommend eithe the Goa or Indian Breeze. Deliciously indulgent! I'm looking forward to returning to De Bags very soon. Well done guys. You have a winning recipe. Keep it up 🙂

It looks small from the outside, but like the TARDIS it is big on the inside. Good selection of meat, fish and vegetable mains. Melt in your mouth food. Excellent service.

Absolutely gorgeous resturant calm atmosphere really beautiful inside and clean, we had a fantastic anniversary meal here staff were so pleasant manager look stressed but the food was outstanding the chicken was one of the best curries ive had in years! We visited for lunch on a Saturday. The food is exceptional. I would recommend to anyone wanting to explore Indian/Goan cuisine. The staff are always happy to recommend dishes, which was great because I got to try some Portuguese king prawns.

Literally the best fusion Indian cuisine I’ve ever had to date. Excellent unique food, big portions, lots of choice, beautifully cooked and spiced and presentation top notch. Amazing Indian restaurant. Been here quite a few times, and the food is always excellent. In my opinion it is better than Dishoom. Great range of soft drinks, cocktails, starters and mains. The fried sticky chicken starter, and mutton curry are delicious. Excellent friendly service, and good value for money. There are cheaper places to get a curry, but like everything, you get what you pay for. Special mention to Anisha for always taking good care of us.

Excellent place for a express lunch. They have several options available veg or none veg. We opted for a meat express lunch serviced perfectly in an thali (Indian tray). The food came with a bowl of Chicken curry - Keema peas - Mixed dal - Rice - Roti - Yogurt - Mixed pickles - Popadoms and for desert a Gulab Jamun. The food was 10 - 10 for flavour and oil free (very healthy). The food was well seasoned and not overpowering with chillies and a great outstanding thanks to the Goan chef. The complete meal was less that £15:00 outstanding valve for lunch at a top notch restaurant in Chapel Allerton Leeds. Please see enclosed picture as this tells the full story.

Omg!This place is amazing i felt that when i even stepped in, one of staff members escorted us to the table ,i have never tried this much delicious food ever before, its like finger licking good, staff are so respectfull & polite, one of the young staff member Anisha served us so well which begins with a cocktails, starter and curry recommendation are so good i ‘ve been to many different places but this restaurant is absolutely blow your mind away with awesome food keema and onion coriander naan and liquors choice. I am definitely visiting second time soon Highly recommended 👍🏿👍🏿

our meal here was so special! the service from Arjun was absolutely perfect, very polite but also friendly and warm and very helpful too. the food though was spectacular - we loved everything we had. as vegetarians there was enough for two of us to have a great meal - our favourite things were the sev puri and the okra bhajis, some of the best I've ever had. I'd recommend de baga to anyone, it was such a lovely evening for us both - thank you!

Came on a Saturday evening and it wasn’t too busy, the atmosphere was lovely with the fairy lights and the instrumental music. We got sev puri, the meat sizzler platter and paneer steak platter and a mocktail (which I wouldn’t recommend but we aren’t too bothered by this) The portions were huge and the food was amazing - my husband loved the meat sizzler and said the highlight was the lamb chops. Lovely service from Arjun and the team - we will be back :)

After an issue with my earlier delivery, I had reached out to De Baga directly and the wonderful Mandeep delivered a new order from this branch to me personally. The chicken briyani and chicken65 were delicious! I was very impressed by the amazing customer service as well as food quality.

We visited for a family meal and left absolutely wowed by the food! Everything was absolutely delicious. Between us we had a range of dishes and sampled each others, everything was absolutely beautiful. Lovely staff and nice atmosphere, we will definitely be returning!
