Visited 4 times in last few weeks. Savouries look appetising and coffee was good, but.... Last 2 visits left a poor impression. The cake selection was minimal. Staff need to focus on customers. I don't want to be ignored while staff chat with each other, nor do I expect to be ignored by someone intent on studying her phone!

My brother took me for a surprise Birthday lunch at the Corn Mill Tea Room in Bainbridge and with the quality of lunch and service we received, I can see why this particular establishment gets so busy. (It was certainly busy over the weekend with walkers, cyclists and bikers). My brother treated me to the Wensleydale Cheese baguette with Raydale Preserve which came with a side salad and crisps. The Wensleydale and preserve perfectly complimented the baguette and the salad was fresh and tasty.Alongside this, I had a Speciality Latte with Ginger which served as a nice accompaniment. As it was my birthday, I decided to treat my brother to a cake. He had the Malteser Crunch Cake and I had the Yorkshire Cheese Tart which served as a nice round off for the meal. The service was friendly, warm and welcoming as the surroundings which was also a great place to relax.Given the Corn Mill Tea Room's location to places like Hawes, Askrigg and Hardraw alongside the wider Wensleydale villages such as Muker, Gunnerside and Reeth, it's the perfect place to recharge and relax.

Many thanks for such a fantastic spread of assorted sandwiches, quiches, cakes, tray bakes and scones (with strawberries and cream) that you provided for Mum's funeral tea at Sycamore Hall, Bainbridge on Friday afternoon. It was just perfect and Mum would have been delighted so many friends and relatives came to enjoy the sad occasion in her memory and were fed and watered so brilliantly by yourselves. Being in the WI she loved home made cakes and a proper afternoon tea. Your service was most attentive and efficient and we particularly appreciated being given carefully arranged platters of some leftovers, which we are continuing to enjoy at home now. The sandwiches were freshly made and came with a side salad, coleslaw and crisps. We shared the sarnies and both were delicious and just the right size for us. The cappuccinos were spot on for taste and 'frothiness' The interior was clean and all the usual Covid restrictions were in place. The service was quick and the staff pleasant. We ordered a sausage baguette, a bacon baguette, a coffee with hot milk and a pot of tea for our lunch. We SPECIFICALLY asked if both the sausages and the bacon baguettes could be well done. When they arrived, the sausages were barely cooked and we were worried that they looked almost raw! We asked if they could cook them a bit more, to which the waitress(?) replied "i'll see what i can do but i'm not sure if i can get them any more well done"! Unbelievable!!! After a few minutes, it came back looking exactly the same! We left half of it as it tasted awful and we were concerned that the sausages weren't cooked properly. The bacon didn't fair much better either - this was also undercooked, very salty and 'wet' looking. As for the baguettes themselves, they were extremely 'pappy'. It might have improved things a bit if they'd been toasted, or at least warmed. The tea and coffee were average. We have been to this tea-room once before, many years ago, but we don't recollect it being this bad. Needless to say, we will NOT be paying a third visit!

We visited as a family of five. We all ordered different sandwiches and cakes. Every item of food was really fresh and very tasty. Excellent value for money. Will definitely revisit if we are in the area in the future.

We stay nearby a couple of times a year, in a self-catering cottage but always make a couple of visits to the Tea Room. Familiarity DOES NOT breed contempt here ... because the staff are always so friendly and helpful. It is a pleasure to give the Tea Room our custom. We have never been disappointed with the food we have either eaten in or taken away.

Motorcycling through Yorkshire Dales and called at this fabulous, unpretentious tearoom. Lovely location adjacent the village green; choice of eating inside or outside. Café/Tearoom is clean, attractive and well decorated. Food excellent and nicely displayed. I had apple pie and cream with a large coffee. The servings were generous and the pie was perfect as was the large mug of coffee. Friendly, courteous people who make you feel welcome. A good selection of jams, pickles, cake etc. available to "take-away". Managed to squeeze a couple of jars of jam and some flapjack into the top box. We shall be back when next in the area. Just off the main road so don't miss it. Well worth a visit.

We called on a Sunday morning after camping nearby for the weekend, we had no breakfast things with us so we called in to the nearest place we found! We very happy that we called in the Corn Mill Tearoom! Food was delicious and very filling! Was reasonably priced as well considering the location! Staff were all very friendly and it was nice to see it run by a family!

Missed out on first visit as closed, so made a detour to try the fruit cake and cheese. It was delicious along with very good scones, cream and jam. Generous pots of tea too. Great after a walk in the Dales

I ordered some of the traybakes by post last week so that we could have them on Father's Day. We had family visiting too. The cakes were lovely and very much enjoyed by all of us. Very good service. We did also visit this teashop on 2 occasions when we were staying in the area in April. Had lovely meals and service was excellent too. Will definitely visit again if in the area.

I had a wonderful spa experience at Forest Spa and a decent stay at the lodge yesterday. I really wish I could give the estate a 5 star rating, but there were a handful of things that just didn’t quite meet the mark. For starters, it was very confusing how to get to the spa - signage definitely needs to be increased. Once in the spa, the lockers are located in the waiting/dining room which was odd in my opinion (I’ve been to a ton of spas and never seen this before). The staff were extremely friendly and my massage/scrub/facial session was amazing, which is why I wish I could give them 5 stars. For those that come for a spa day, you preselect your lunch choices at check in. It was clear the snacks were a separate charge, but the form made it appear as though the dessert was part of the package. At checkout, I was surprised that I was being charged 9 quid for a small scoop (seemed like half a scoop honestly) of sorbet with a little bit of granola. Pretty absurd. As for the lodge itself, check in was extremely confusing as it was hard to find the reception desk in the dark (since it gets dark around 4pm now) and then once checked in, they give you a map and leave you to find your room on the massive property (not just one central building). After lugging my bags to the reception desk (most of the way was gravel so had to carry my suitcase), I had to lug my bags back to where I started and ended up going in circles trying to find my room in the dark since there was little signage or help available. I ended up having to go back to reception and confirm where I needed to go and eventually found my way. This definitely put a damper on my spa day and completely reversed the relaxation I experienced earlier. Once in my room, the shower looked like an accessible room type shower (even though it was definitely not an accessible room since on the second floor with no elevator) with no door or barrier dividing the shower floor from the rest of the floor and I knew that was going to be interesting - I was in fact right once taking a shower. The bathroom floor was soaking wet after my shower, but thankfully it was only me staying in the room so I was able to use the extra towels provided for a second guest to mop up the water. The room was spacious and cute and the bed comfy, however, the pillows had a weird smell to them that almost made me think they weren’t clean. Dinner at the Coach House was nice, however, I paid 50 quid for a drink, water (that I didn’t ask for) and a main dish - seemed excessive, but I guess that’s what you get when staying at a place like this. Overall, the staff and service I received at the spa, lodge and restaurant were all fantastic. Just really wish the estate was able to meet the mark on all other areas.
