Very popular Chip shop and its easy to taste why, Only negative is the chip portions are a bit smaller than most but still very tasty never the less. Good choice, but remember to order non standard items when you first arrive. I always go for Spam fritter on the side as well.

Found this place a few months back when we were heading away on holiday and really enjoyed it. the fish was lovely and really good size portions so today we decided to make a day of it and head the 20 miles for a second helping and we were not disappointed.

First time at this fish shop there was a queue when I got there which is a good sign the staff were very quick ant and the queue went down quickly and the service was friendly and most importantly the fish and chips were excellent best I've had in a very long time

Has to be one of, if the the most stingiest chip shops not just in Yorkshire but the whole of England. If you’re really hungry either take plenty of money or go elsewhere. The smallest large chips I’ve seen in my life and too top it off not all that good so god knows why they hold back on their portions. I know things have gone up in price but wow, disgusting

Cash only. Lovely staff who said hello and bye which seems to be a rare thing nowadays. Great portions, crispy batter and I highly recommend the gravy.

First time here today with my boys lived in fev years ..anyway omg wow the fish and chips are absolutely beautiful as are the staff beautiful clean 5 star place the boys had fish bits they was delicious... so fresh my fish was huge i thought it was half a whale lol... i will definitely be back soon the staff are so nice professional but lovely shop was spotless im well impressed best one in Fev by far see you soon guys,,,,, Davina x😊😊🥰

I am sorry!!! I moved locally four years ago and only heard about this place two years ago. Despite me wanting to try this place our paths never crossed due to my work hours. Well today I managed to get down here! I didn't know what to order but the friendly staff helped me... Even with the sauces...I got mushy peas gravy and curry a in one tub!!! Genius idea!!! I.got home and boy was I happy. Still wrapped in newspaper how it should be and what smells like fat dripping, correct me if I'm wrong. Chips was shift and slightly golden goes they should be, fish... Little bit dry, however the batter is really tasty. The sauce combo was the icing on the cake. Highly recommend, and wish I started coming years ago

Used these for a few year and drive out of our village for them but I was really disappointed when I couldn’t use my bank card and was told to go round a corner and there was a cash machine ...I asked a few times “on the left or right” but no further directions So I set off and I was baffled?? I asked someone and they pointed me over a busy main road to a blacked out shop that looked closed down I went in and the cash machine was near the counter and I paid £1.99 to get £10 out! It would have been so easy for the man in the fish shop to tell me to cross road and look for a blacked out shop with cash machine inside ..will stick to hillside chippy in future at Ackworth where I can use my card and the staff are really helpful Doesn’t cost much to be friendly

EEH BY GUM, At first look a small and questionable place,Really good fish & Chips cooked fresh while you wait .served with a smile the people are polite up north even asked if I wanted scarps ( bits of left over fish batter) served in newspaper worth driving the 150 miles. I will be back next Thursday, me duck

Of all the heart attack enduring methods of killing yourself via fast food outlets this is one of the best. Just don't order the kids a burger cos it looks like a skin graft.

This should be a 5 star score, we really enjoy the fish n chips from here, however, tonIght we had to run the gauntlet of youths hanging around smoking! Consequently in trying to get through, my husbands 'hollister' t shirt has a burn hole in it! They need to be moved on, if they are there next time, it will be us who move on
