Visited here with the family whilst out in York - four adults and five kids (4-14) - it was a wet Sunday and didnāt have a reservation but we were found two tables close together. As time was pressing we mentioned this to the staff and they pulled out all the stops - we had sharing pizzas and regular trips to the salad bar. Overall very good in every respect, compliments to the staff for looking after us. Restaurant was busy when we left.

Decent place to stay, our room wasn't one used in the pics but it was still decent enough, the shower was pretty rubbish mind, would stay again no issues.

Amazing! The food was fantastic, really well presented and tasted divine. The portions were generous and they do an amazing hot chocolate too. The service was outstanding, staff were attentive without being intrusive. Everyone was friendly and polite - the establishment has a generous outdoor eating area but we opted to eat in the cosy indoor space. Yes indoor does equate to small here but that is a common theme in York with the abundance of listed buildings. Well worth a visit

Visited today and what a lovely tea room and lovely welcoming service. Came for afternoon tea and the food was delicious. Had a great selection of cakes to choose from with a nice cup of coffee. The staff were very nice and friendly with excellent quick service. Would highly recommend š

Decided to pop in as passing and saw the sign about children and dogs on the way in, having just visited Whitby the dog rule was welcome lol. Lovely looking pub, with booths, the staff served us quickly and were friendly. We saw the rest of the rules on the beer mats when we sat down, fine pubs are allowed to enforce whatever rules they want and it was nice not having to listen to other people's phone calls, or football matches. Would of liked a bit of background music but it didn't spoil our evening.

Thought Iād go here for a quick drink whilst I waited for the ghost walk to start outside. I was on my own and was immediately met with hostility, with the bar staff not very subtly pointing at me and talking amongst themselves. I asked if I could have a cola and was met with an incredibly patronising āyou can love but can we see some ID firstā. They suddenly stopped talking to me like a child when they realised Iām nearly 30. Then I sat down and put my phone on the table as I donāt like to keep it in my pocket and was told I wasnāt allowed to use my phone (I wasnāt actually using it) and a sign about it being a ādigital detoxā pub held in front of my face. I realised Iād made a mistake at that point and it was almost impossible to exist in there as a solo customer. I felt very awkward and the atmosphere was terrible. Also out of the 3 womenās toilets, only one locks AND you have to deal with the toilet seat coming off when you sit down - grim All in all terrible experience - didnāt finish my drink and am writing this from a cosy, friendly pub round the corner

The Roman Bath Pub is a great city centre pub that always a joy to drop into. This is a really interesting looking pub, interior is superb,an island style serving bar, great decor and furnishings,tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options, the most distinctive feature of the pub is the great artwork around the walls depicting scenes of Roman life alluding to the Roman museum in the basement ,it's a proper chill out pub. We were here on a Monday evening, pub was busy,we ordered John Smiths Brewery bitter ,served in pristine condition,we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. I enjoy a good bitter,a much underrated beer style but when served iced gold as in this pub it's a totally refreshing brew. We both really enjoyed our visit here ,only stayed for one each before we moved on. The Roman Bath Pub is easy to locate on St Sampsons Square. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from 11am. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
