The best restaurants serving Italian food in Guildhall York Yorkshire and The Humber

It's a nice building and the interior is smartly decorated. Service started off well, but when they got busier got a bit sporadic. The set menus (available lunch and dinner) keep things within a budget. However, fundamentally I don't think the food is that great. Between us we had calamari, pate, garlic mushrooms, pizzas, calzone and an arribiatta and it was pretty much OK.

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience here. The food was delivered upstairs without any cutlery. I didn't mind and went downstairs to get some, making sure I went to be Tiro so I was taking cutlery from the place I had ordered the food. The 2 chefs were busy, one had just brought the food to my table, I took a knife and fork from the counter and the man who had just delivered the food snapped my head off. I explained that I had just ordered from him and he hadn't brought us any cutlery... He had just been at my table 2 minutes before so I would have expected him to recognise me. He continued to look at me in disgust and shake his head at me... I found it hard to understand why someone could get so angry over disposable cutlery. I will not be ordering from here again.

This restaurant was a great find. Food was excellent. We had a mixture of steaks, fish and pasta dishes with a lovely side selection of vegetables. All cooked to perfection. Dessert's were good to. All reasonable priced. Would recommend Silvano's.

My husband and I went for lunch for the first time today. From the moment we stepped inside it was good. Max, the waiter opened the door and showed us a table. When the food came. My pizza was obviously freshly cooked and my husband had chicken in a mushroom sauce with tiny roast potatoes and green beans. He said it was delicious.. That's all we had and it was reasonable priced...both for 23 pound. We shall definitely go again in a couple of weeks time. Max and Julie were excellent. Highly recommend

Visitamos la semana pasada como una familia de 3 adultos y 1 adolescente. El personal era muy agradable y amable y la comida era encantadora. Todos disfrutamos mucho de nuestras comidas. La única razón por la que solo di 4 * fue que los baños dejaron mucho que desear, no digo que estuvieran sucios, pero había papel higiénico por todo el piso y no creo que pudieran haber sido revisados durante algún tiempo, pero esto no nos detendría de nuevo. Tengo una tarjeta Blue Light Card y recibí el 25 % de toda la factura, pero solo se puede usar en el menú principal, no en el menú establecido.

The best ask we've been to. The building is stunning, the food is perfect and came ridiculously fast, we were taken to our table immediately. The raspberry lemonade at the table was a nice touch and the warm brownie dessert was beautiful. Best place to eat in York

Friendly and super-efficient service, even for our (pre-booked) group of 50! Food was amazing - fresh, delicious, and hearty. Portions just right: generous but not overwhelming. Highly recommended, wish I lived nearer so I could eat there regularly.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place was a total disaster from start to finish. The atmosphere was dreadful — loud, chaotic, and uncomfortable. We waited for nearly an entire hour for our order, only to find out they had completely forgotten about it. When the food finally showed up, it was stone cold and completely tasteless. I’ve had frozen pizzas that were better than this. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Total waste of time and money.

El lugar perfecto, en un edificio georgiano muy grande. Llegué un poco temprano y Dan y su equipo era muy acogedor y amable. La comida era perfecta, bien presentada y deliciosa y los tres miembros más jóvenes de mi familia realmente disfrutaron de su comida al igual que los tres adultos. Estaba en una excursión de un día a York, pero sin duda volveré a visitar.

Food is good quality however the portion size is very small, prices are high for what you get. Service was quite good but for value for money I wouldn't recommend.
