Tiro Sicilian Street Food in York

Delicious street food, had the pesto arancini and calamari. Couldn’t fault it. Would definitely recommend for something different, fresh and tasty

I'll start with the positives - I have eaten here a few times - food has always been fine. However, on my last couple of visits to SPARK my table was near this outlet and having seen the lack of hand washing and basic hygiene it has put me off ordering again. Which is a real shame as the food had always been great.

I've given a one star review purely due to seeing a staff member petting someone's dog who jumped up on the counter, give it food from the food containers, pet it and then didn't wash his hands and continued handling food... Absolutely gross hygiene protocols. The vegan arancini I had were great but totally puts me off seeing this kind of things.

I notice on Tripadvisor there is a review about poor hygiene and no hand washing, so this is not a one off either!

Had the Arancini Melanzane and it was great! The arancini were tasty and delicate with a crisp shell and tasty dipping sauce. Good value for the filling portion. Staff were quick and very kind.

We did not eat as this food outlet in Spark but were sat opposite to eat our food from other vendors. The hygiene standards at this place are appalling. We witnessed one of the staff eating chips off plates before he out the rest of the meal on it, wiping his hands down his top, rubbing his mouth with his hand and putting his hand threw his hair. Not once did he wash his hands.

Lovely vegan foccacia and very nice chips! The focaccia was pretty greasy and could do with a little extra something for an extra kick of flavour, pesto would be a good addition! But would definitely still have it again

Haven’t tried whole menu but it’s pretty far from good Sicilian food, arancini was by far the weakest food in the menu, nowhere near the quality you would get in the streets of Sicily, it’s small and lacks any good filling, opened one expecting a good amount of filing but instead there was barely any minced meat and cheap cheese, for a dish that is a so simple and ingredients easily available anywhere there is no excuse to be so poorly executed. haven’t tried the sandwiches so arancini alone is not worth it.

Great spot within Spark. Fresh focaccia, and good vegan options. I went for the vegan steak and wasn’t disappointed!

Not an extensive range - its basically arancini, foccacia (with or without fries), beer and soft drinks. Judging by the reviews I should have gone arancini! Had foccacia and it was tasty and the fries were very good too. Sunny Friday afternoon lunchtime, there were still benches available. Good lunch.

Had the pistachio arancini. They were delicious and came very quickly. Staff were great and very friendly. Thoroughly recommend.

Super tasty arancini in a great atmosphere at Spark, York. Would recommend! nice to have a nibble with a bev without having something super greasy.

Never tried an arancici before but after seeing the colourful stall and the lovely staff I had try give them a good and in glad I did. I could’ve had many more portions m. My girlfriend had to tear me away from the place. A must visit next time I’m in York.

Visited Tiro with some friends last week. We tried the pistachio arancini which were to die for. We also had focaccia with chicken milanese which was full of flavour. Food is definitely value for money and the Sicilian guys who run it are lovely and very passionate about what they are doing. We'll definitely be back and he highly recommend!

Amazing food, the best arancini I ever tried and I'm huge fun of them. Focaccia milanese just an explosion of taste. Also vegan options. I really recommend that place, York needed something like that.

Visited tiro yesterday with my boyfriend and was blown away not only by the food but the service as well. Best Arancini I’ve ever had and the garlic Mayo combo was to die for. Staff are super friendly, approachable and professional. Will be back for more very soon!

Stopped by Spark at the weekend as they always have interesting vendors on and wow, I think I've found my new favourite! The service was super fast and friendly. Nick and Carmelo seem like really great guys and they know their stuff about their food....

Went Christmas shopping with my mum and tried this place as we are both huge fans of Sicilian food. Great atmosphere in Spark and ordered easily through the app. Both the focaccia and the arancini were amazing, enjoyed the different variety of drinks as well. The guys running this place are really friendly and clearly passionate so a really great place to support, can’t wait to go back!

Can’t generally walk past an arancini without trying one. Had some pretty poor examples in the UK, but this place was the real deal! Really tasty, satisfying & they measure up to arancini I’ve tried in Sicily. If I lived in York I would be...

These guys are doing it right! Had the Arancini and Focaccia and was not disappointed - the guys running Tiro are lovely also which made the whole experience that much better. 10/10 will come again 🇮🇹

Big eater, I ordered the milanese focaccia. Amazing, first and only authentic focaccia I have had outside of Italy. Would definitively recommend to everybody popping into sparks. Cannot wait to go back in to try the arancini, they look out of this world. See you...

A friend told me about this place, but didn’t realise it was actually new. I have to say I was so happy with my choice to go here. The food was delicious and good value. Will 100% be coming back and recommending to more friends!
