Pizza Hut in York

Friendly and very accommodating staff.

Pizzas were coming out quite regularly. Not much options but it was to be expected.

Quickly greeted and taken to a table. Our server was a very lovely lady who checked to make sure we knew how to order through the QR code on the table (if we wanted to) and pointed to where the salad bar etc was. Went for the buffet which all tasted lovely and was quickly refilled as soon as anything became empty . Very clean restaurant and the toilets were very clean. Also noticed that as soon as someone was finished and left the staff were incredibly quick to go over to clear and clean the table .

The ease of ordering from the table and the quickness of the staff bring over drinks and plates etc.

The food was piping hot, and fresh! The salad bar was well stocked too. Cleanliness was perfect, with no issues at all. Top-tier service which was quick and helpful.

A fairly standard chain restaurant with the normal food choices to be expected from Pizza Hut. Whilst there are better independent pizza restaurants in town, the salad bar was fresh and well stocked and the staff were very helpful and efficient, this helps make this venue a popular choice for folk who appreciate decent enough food in the centre of town.

The great customer service and value for money. The location was also good.

Food was ok, server got our order wrong twice which wasn't really the issue it happens, but for the staff member to argue was unacceptable. First and last visit!

Handy pizza hut in the middle of town.

I couldn't figure out what to order for a long time, even though I love pizzas. The types of pizzas that were on offer were mostly with a lot of meat. The pizza itself is very thin and quite greasy. Also the waiter seated us at a dirty table in a half-empty restaurant

It was very busy the day that I went. It was half term. A few people were queuing outside. They stood with the door open. It was very cold and windy outside. All the heat from the restaurant went out of the door. We were seated right in the strong draft. There were no free tables to move too. We were asked to order online from the QR code on the table, however, I had no Internet. It took an age to catch the attention of the waitress for her to take our order. When I said that I couldn't order via the QR code due to no Internet signal she said 'oh yeah, it's often like that in here.' So why were we asked to order online if it's common to get no signal in there? The food was definitely mediocre. Underneath our table we're the remnants of the last people's meal. The salad bar looked like a bomb had hit it with mayonnaise all over the floor nearby. I do think a lot of these issues were to do with the fact that it was half term and the restaurant was really busy, however, I won't be going again.

Tried to dine in we are 3 people with one baby they don't have space they said wait for 25 mins so we been waiting for about 10 to 15 mins then 3 people come they let go them go in like hello we are 3 people as well coz the baby gonna seat on a high chair , they make it different treatment to the other nationality . We have money to pay same other people do . Very bad service not same other pizzahut we've been . Be fair to other people .

A very busy place but I don't blame people. Very very hard working friendly staff, a nice atmosphere, a wide selection of sides, drinks or ice cream and delicious pizza!. I enjoyed my experience here. I recommend eating here!

Called in on a windy, rainy day. Only one other couple seated. Seated by miserable, unsmiling server. Children (7&8) not offered colouring sheets. Staff pointed at table and said we could order via our phone. We said no thanks and menus were reluctantly handed to us. We checked over the menus. Ordered 1 pepsi, 2 cream soda, 1 water a sharing pizza (just less than £30) and three sides for £15.99 (fries, onion rings, cheesy garlic bread). Server went off put our order through. Not having been to pizza hut for years we had to ask if the bowls on the table were for the complimentary salad and if we could help ourselves. This was confirmed and we filled up the four bowls. No bread rolls. Drinks brought out. No water. Assumed it had been forgotten and given the unfriendly service, we didn't bother asking and I shared a soda with our youngest. Later informed (when paying the bill and asking for the water to be removed from said bill) that you help yourself to water from a self-service drinks machine near the ice-cream machine. Pizza and sides arrived. We had used one of the salad bowls to help ourselves to mayo from the salad bar. Was not offered any additional sauces on service. Pizza was nice, but very small for the price. Chips nicely flavoured but limp and cold. Onion rings and garlic bread ok. Husband asked me to check at the salad bar if there was any hot sauce - there wasn't. We asked the server and he said all the sauces were at the salad bar. Well, they weren't - no ketchup, no barbecue, no hot sauce. Husband politely asked if there was anything with a bit of spice. Told no a few times before reluctantly offered a hot sauce, which he then brought to the table. Not asked at any point how our meal was. Ate pizza. Cleared aside the plates. Asked if we could order ice-cream for the boys. Bowls were brought out, again, no instructions, just go and help yourself. Toilets are available down very steep stairs. We put on our coats to leave and asked to pay our bill - around £56. Not unreasonable for a family of 4. Given the lack of service and the lack of explanation regarding buffet, self-service drinks, etc, we will choose to eat elsewhere when we are next in York.

accessibility of the store in terms of location is good, the staff were friendly and warm, food portions were tasty and tummy-filing as well. Loved my overall experience, will try to come back to another pizza hut outlet soon.

Greeted by server and given table. Asked for a menu. Waiter handed us menu, told us everything is done via app and disappeared! Went to a Pizza Hut restaurant to sit in for service ,,,,, not to do it ourselves on our phones! Could've done that from our hotel room! Felt like we were an inconvenience so left without ordering! No thank you Pizza Hut!

Taking reservations even when they're close.

Absolute rubbish. The salad bar was a joke. Pizzas could have been from the freezer section in a supermarket. Fries overpriced. So over priced for what it was. Never going to back to the Hut!!

The orange juice was delicious. The food was a touch overpriced, especially considering the pizza had hardly any dough on the bottom. Very busy. Very dirty. There was food all over the seats.

A convenient location in the centre of York and a menu with vegan options made this a good choice for an early lunch on a busy weekday.

Don't bother, save your time & money, the only thing I did'nt do was cook my own pizza! Service? What service!!

Didn't even sit down, we were asked to wait until the waitress cleared a few tables - fair enough - but she wiped all the food from the table onto the floor, they had obviously been busy but the salad bar which is by the door was also very messy and not been cleaned or replenished, really not a very good 1st impression at all, we went elsewhere.

Relaxed atmosphere and easy dining experience, access to varied pizzas on the buffet is good and a well stocked salad bar means you get all the food you need with ease.

Had bottomless ice-cream here with a friend! Was great

Cheap and cheerful good value and plenty of toppings. Our server (Julia) was very friendly. The Garlic bread was a bit dry so they changed it very quickly and we were happy

A much slicker version of the sit-down Pizza Hut restaurants of my youth, but the same tasty food. I like the self-serve salad bar and the deep pan pizzas arriving in their metal pan in a wooden board (traditional but kept modern). Probably old fashioned, l am approaching 60, but in my opinion pizzas are best served after being freshly prepared in the restaurant and served immediately out of the oven. You can order via the staff, but the QR code on the table allows a much quicker ordering and payment process on your phone. Post-covid although fewer staff, glad to see the same good food and that the staff are still available to advise or help if needed. Really liked this restaurant and it's food.

Despite only being a Pizza Hut it was one of nicest meals had in a long time! Ingredients fresh and pizza base was excellent. Sharing meal deal also excellent value. Staff friendly and accommodating.

Really good food, wasn’t too long of a wait and the waiters were really friendly but the food was a little to expensive. Overall I would recommend.

We tried to do a same day booking here as our original booking had run out of food (yep... run out of food, but that's another review). We were told the restaurant cannot do same day bookings, it's a good job we arrived for dinner as early as we did because the place did fill up quickly. Sadly we did get seated and were told to order our food from the QR code on the table, the QR code seems to be pointless as I still had to navigate the website to find the restaurant and the table, it may as well have just given me the pizzahut website and cut out me pointing my camera at the table. Ordered 2 pizzas and 4 bottomless drinks, 1 meat feast and a margherita, the grease from each pizza was off-putting to say the least, we left unable to finish the food and the pop became flat almost instantly. Needless to say we won't be in a rush to return.

Absolutely appalling! If I could give this a zero rating I would! Ridiculously overpriced tasteless food in a cold badly decorated room which felt like a throwback to the worst of the 1980’s. Staff were friendly and helpful but orders had to be ordered via phone which I personally despise. Service was painfully slow which was excruciating as we were very hungry. This coupled with the total lack of any ambience made the whole visit extremely lacklustre. Very noisy, screaming children present which also dampened the experience. The best option for this establishment would be to close it down. I recommend that you avoid at all costs. Please don’t waste your hard earned money in supporting a business that has zero interest in the customer and the customer experience.

We had the buffet lunch. Family of 5. Had to wait 20 minutes to get in Plenty of tables empty. I'm not blaming staff just so few working. The ones that were , were run off their feet. Pizza's were ok but nothing to write home about. But the final cost was ridiculous (£72 and one child only having one slice of pizza) for mediocre food and poor service. Will not be going back to Pizza hut

We went to a travelodge and they had no pizza so we had a look at the town and came here the people were so friendly and were very nice to my autistic son.

Just ordered a pizza from deliveroo its the worst pizza I've ever had in my life wasn't even cooked properly NEVER EVER AGAIN complained to deliveroo got 80p refund what a joke

Had the G O.A.T. pizza with stuffed crust. It was most excellent. I don't like QR code menus though and you order and pay on the phone. Almost no staff interaction (but the staff are really nice and helpful)

Decent food, like most places it's mostly self service but the guy who helped us and brought our food was friendly and attentative 😊

Went in it was quiet. Met by lovely waitress who seated us, but staff interaction from then on was non existent. Said we had to order on app which was fine,but some parts missing including juices (they had bottomless but not the same) ordered food. Drinks took a while to come but coffee was nice. Food came eventually, had one pan pizza and one thin pizza. Pan pizza lovely, piping hot and lots of toppings. On the other hand the thin pizza was burnt one side and very stingy on toppings, bland no taste to it. Dissapointed.

You’re kidding me right… £27 for a large Pizza Hut pizza??, self service, order at your table, QR code nonsense. Pizza Hut used to be the great. A sad dismal experience we gladly avoided, we went in, saw the price, experienced the lack of staff, experienced the lack of atmosphere/ happiness, and left before spending our money. Do not bother…

Standard Pizza Hut in the heart of the city, convenient.

The waitresses were lovely but our pizzas were terrible. We ordered the thin base pizzas. It was over 20 minutes before they arrived even though we were the only ones waiting for food in the restaurant. When both pizzas arrived they were like cardboard, very obviously been in the oven too long. The restaurant was very busy with delivery orders and I'm guessing priority is given to those orders before . It was more than disappointing as it's not cheap at £16 &£17 pounds each. Not good enough at this branch Pizza Hut!

The York pizza hut was good a little small tbh as soon after we got in at 1145am a que had formed outside had the buffet meal and the pizzas refilled quickly as was pasta and salad

Went to York city centre pizza hut with my two sons. Was shown the table by the manager. Ordered the buffet meal and advised him we are vegetarian as there was only limited choice in the buffet. He was so accommodating/friendly and full of energy! (No wonder he was the manager) he made sure there was plenty of choice in the buffet and ensured we knew when more pizza was ready. Thanks again for the wonderful experience! Manager needs promotion!!

The staff here work incredibly hard to make sure everyone has a great meal, but I'm not a fan of having to order via the app, just takes something away from the experience of dining out x

The food was delish-really recommend the chocolate cookie dough! The only thing I would say is that our server didn’t verbally give us the option to order face to face, and so we had to order online. Unfortunately after several attempts our payment details would not go through via the online website, so we had to pay manually !

I was family of 7 so bill came to £110. food was what's expected. BUT when pizza hut doesn't offer table service you got to order off app I strongly feel visit any restaurant it should be waiter service. Its like pizza hut on cut backs Pizza hut needs to put customers first. It's a joke

Food was really good friendly staff . But these ie a but when I'm paying over £100 for meal I do expect to be waiter's service not cash less order you food by app I gave 3 stars for this must say food was OK but not having waiter's service is a must in my opinion pizza hut please sort this out I for one will not use eat in pizza hut while there no waiter service

Good pizza hut. Quick service and food was hit and tasty.

Walked in on a Saturday because the Pizza Hut wasn't busy at all, only three people eating and four staff. After a wait we were eventually shown to a table and given a menu, then after a further twenty minute wait the waitress appeared with someone elses order, we decided not to sit there all afternoon and gathered our things and walked out - the waitress passed us on our way out and never said a word. There were two members of staff standing there doing nothing, one clearing a table, which took him about five minutes and someone else hanging about at the back. We won't be returning or recommending this place to anyone and it wouldn't surprise me if it was closed down next time we visit.

We went while in York it was a really busy &hot weekend but the pizza was not great & the salad bar was not in great condition selection & quality wise.

We arrived and there was only 1 other table, the server took us to our seat and told us they were a cashless venue and to scan and order in the app. We had meerkat discount code so I knew that couldn’t be done on the app. We weren’t given menus so I went and got my own, server took order and didn’t take long to arrive and was nice. Whilst we were there a table of 4 came in (I think grandparents and grandchildren) again told to order on the app. After 10 minutes and no one even giving them menus or offering to take an order they upped and left. Same thing happened with a couple with a baby in a pushchair…. 7 covers walked out - and there were only 3 occupied tables so no excuses. They need to sort out staffing.

Everything about the visit was pleasant from the greeting by staff at the door, to leaving. The young lady that greeted us was very polite and attentive as we worked our way through our first time using the online ordering system. We arrived after 9pm on a Saturday night and there were only a few people in, but we were still pleasantly surprised when our drinks were brought over within seconds of ordering and we didn't have long to wait for our food which was piping hot and well presented. Not one bad thing to say about the experience.

Have always enjoyed Pizza Hut deep pan pizza - and was not disappointed here. Very tasty and served quickly. Staff were working hard during a busy period but were friendly and helpful. Usual menu, soft drinks over priced, toilets very clean.

There was a loud kids party happening at the time which did ruin the atmosphere a bit, but not the stores fault! I was visiting on business and ate alone, the staff made me feel welcome and I would return if I'm back in york

Dine in Pizza Hut was nice for a lunch, had a salad buffet with refillable drinks and gf pizzas.

Plenty of space and staff were great. Food was good. Ice cream machine is good but the ice cream melts way too fast. Pizzas only come in 2 sizes which is a shame. Price could be cheaper though the salad bar is great.

The server was very nice. Food yummy. Atmosphere not so good. A table of young ladies were making a lot of loud noise. Very rude!

The staff was amazing! They were so polite and handled a large crowd of over 50 people there on a trip( plus all the other customers) There were only 3 people on but they hustled and smiled the whole time !

Automated service. Food ok but nothing special. Staff ( much reduced) looked scruffy and fed up. Absolutely no atmosphere. Won't be back.

Very friendly staff, asking how our food was and if we needed anything else. Plenty of choices on the buffet. Pasta was lovely and still very hot along with the pizza. Plenty if choices too.

We had lovely family time at Pizza Hut. Fresh pizza and salad, nice ice cream. Really nice manager.

The food was fine. Pizzas weren't rotated quickly which left lots of people who had the buffet taking 4-5 slices once the pizza came out. But then you'd have to wait 10-15 mins for a slice and had to be fast!!!

We stopped in for takeaway since our son was hungry. They had stopped seating customers, but we were able to put in a takeaway order. The very friendly server who took our order pointed out that the things we were ordering could be entered as a deal, so that saved us about £5—thanks!

Haven't been to a Pizza Hut for years but the last time I went the tables were clean, the salad bar was full and there was good customer service. Sadly, none of this today. Won't be going back.

The good thing with pizza hut is that you know what you will get! Hot food that was served quickly and had plenty of taste. Our server was lovely and engaging.

We visited at lunchtime during half term and the restaurant was extremely busy. Despite this the staff remained calm, efficient, happy and friendly. The pizzas for the buffet were delicious and there was a steady supply of fresh ones. Our server, Isobel never took the smile off her face and was whizzing about keeping everyone happy. We had no complaints at all.

Tried call, but the mandem on the other end of the phone hanged up. Cannot believe this DISGRACE as it is my son's 36th birthday and really really really enjoys this pizzeria. Definitely will NOT be calling again. Very very very disappointed

Arrived around 12 noon. Restaurant empty. Only 2 pizza out for buffet and no pasta dishes at all. Salad bar was standard Pizza Hut fayre. Toilets were not clean. Overall, pretty poor. Wouldn't recommend and nit as good as some other PHs.

Overall good experience..! Compared to other Pizza Hut’s visited in london or different parts of UK, this place has very few salad options..! Also the sauces were empty on New Year’s Day..! Pizza quality good as expected..!

We ordered a delivery via the website only for them to put it as a collection. Then when we tried to call them no one ever bothered to answer the phone (the only means they give to contact them). If you're ordering a pizza takeaway, Pizza Hut is the last place you should do it from.

Had an excellent buffet meal on day trip to York, self serve buffet, plenty to choose from and Pizza was topped up regularly and excellent choice. Staff were helpful and friendly although very busy kept all customers happy with their efficient service
