Had the Campagne and garlic bread it was amazing !!! Ryan and the team are brilliant and the service was spectacular! and special mention to Darcie; she was so welcoming and looked very happy to help, love her jeans 🫶🏼 will be coming back!!!

Excellent service and lovely food

Great fresh food, staff were nice. Toilets disgusting- back of loo was covered in weeks of fur, hair and grime. Floor was equally filthy. Let down a near perfect experience.

Called in on Friday night dead on our feet in the vain hope of finding a table. We were greeted warmly and fitted in but told we only had an hour. The pizzas were delicious and the Montepulciano did not disappoint either! Speedy service at a very good price. The highlight of our meal though had to be our server, Shelby, warm friendly and very accommodating. Proper warm norther hospitality at its finest. Non of the scripted Americanised spiel. Just good honest northern lass doing her job very well. We will be back and management should make sure the retain the staff as they were all brilliant!

Absolutely shocking, never complained before but felt I needed to this time , served starters ok , then had over half hour wait for main courses to be served only to be told kitchen had forgotten them , 1 came hot and 1 came cold along side garlic bread , told the waitress who promptly took it away and said I will get you a fresh1 , on return my partner had almost eaten her meal , I commented on the bread now being cold , only to be told “ well it was hot when I served it “ needless to say we won’t be returning,

What a place to eat. The food was very nice definitely worth any wait at a busy time. The staff were very kind and made sure you were satisfied with your food. One of the waitresses Olivia was especially nice. The atmosphere was great too. It wasnt too loud and at the same time it wasnt too quiet. Very nice place definitely worth the cost. Would 100% recommend.

Poor service. Food wasn't even average. Atmosphere was poor and felt like we were not welcome. Other Zizzi restaurants I have been to are miles better. Sorry York but that was my experience.

Busy pre-Christmas meal with the ladies. We arrived earlier than our booking time and was warmly welcomed even though fully booked. Really great service. Special call out to Bea for her friendly comforting welcome. Varied menu with lots of vegan options for me. Nice selection of wines. Definitely recommend.

If you like your food cold and you like to watch the carry out meals being served first then welcome to the holy grail of indifference. Have previously eaten in other locations with good service and satisfactory cuisine but this place is downright terrible. Don’t spoil your evening (and others in you company) by spending hard earned cash in this joint.

Phoned to change our booking from 6pm Saturday to 6pm Sunday via a phone call and was accepted and sorted but trying to get our table on Sunday after explaining to the woman front of house didn't believe our booking even though we explained the situation wasn't having it so we walked away went to miller &carter down the road and spent £180 and had a good night out lovely meal fine wine shame on zi zzis

Warm welcome & great service. The food was great - what you expect from a decent chain restaurant. The only minor criticism is that it could have been a little cleaner - we had to wipe down our seats before sitting down.

Was a lovely place but I wanted to write this review to say a big thank you to our server, Holly. She went above and beyond serving not just ours but everyones tables. I could see how much work she was putting in and she still managed to be absolutely lovely.

A quick stop for food on a visit to York and what a treat! The Calzone Piccante was supreme and my wife had a pasta dish that was also excellent. The staff (especially Caz) were great too. I’m pretty sure she was the only staff member on the floor when we were there but her customer service skills and speed of delivery were top class. Highly recommended.

A lovely restaurant, great staff and amazing food. Loved the two mains with sides just enough for a lovely evening meal.

Visiting York for 3 nights with friends, we went to Zizzi as a known "Italian" style restaurant - first night, no booking, as if we knew what we would get, albeit not spectacular. - Italiano falso. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was drab, although we accept at 7pm it was perhaps a bit early - but it didn't improve. The drinks were not a good start - no Prosecco; they don't do Negroni - why not ? standard components: gin, Martini Rosso, Campari...and of course with no Prosecco to replace the gin they wouldn't be able to do Negroni Sbagliato. They had Aperol...they had Martini Rosso - because two of us had them, plus Peroni beer and red wine. Some pasta crisps as compensation - average - in my opinion, "they say it can't be done", is accurate. Bruschetta, pasta ragu, pan-fried sea bass, mushroom risotto, courgetti fritti. All edible but the mains were overcooked - the sea bass looked dry, the risotto was a sticky blob instead of the creamy, loose dish it should be; I thought the courgetti fritti may be one of my favourites, zucchini fritti ( in tempura) - they were zucchini but mini fries ( not quite the same). The lemon & blackcurrant cheesecake and classic tiramisu were very nice. No cheese. So, average. Poor situation not to have any Prosecco. Overcooked food. Timing is everything .

What a fantastic place this is we finally found a proper place that serves a wonderful thin and crispy tasty pizza and the staff are equally brilliant

We went to Zizzis for a 50th Birthday meal as a group of 5 friends. Our table was booked for 8:30pm and we ordered food at 8:40pm it did not arrive until 9:50pm. It seems that Zizzis put priority over takeaway orders rather than restaurant customers as the delivery man came in and out 3 times whilst we were sat at our table. The restaurant was not busy so we could not understand the long wait. We will not be returning as we felt we had been forgotten about.
