Food was excellent, restaurant is nicely furnished and staff were polite and friendly. Not cheap, at just under £300 for dinner for 3 people- we had a couple of drinks each, starter, main and dessert. A place for special occasions. A few niggles which, if ironed out, would have made it a 5 star experience: my £12 Aperol Spritz (without ice) measured about a third of a wineglass, which seemed rather mean, very little prosecco in it and it was room temperature. Two of our desserts were forgotten completely, with a half hour wait between mine arriving and my family receiving theirs - only a brief mumbled apology from the waiter. I think a bigger apology and/or discount should have been offered as it spoilt the flow of the meal. It would be nice if they'd offered to take our coats on arrival. We did really enjoy the food, but the niggles might put me off returning.

Ordered one of the new grills….absolutely insanely good!! The chicken was tasty, the rice and sides and sauces were all so good, the hummus and tzatziki was all fresh. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend.

A decent and charming little guest house not too far away from the old city wall of York. We booked a room at Grange Lodge for a weekend while exploring York and the region of Yorkshire. Its location was good and convenient not being too far away from things and being in a somewhat quiet neighborhood. The room however, is as small as it can be, but you get what you pay for. It was decent and alright and it definitely had its charm, but it was sadly not too clean and not very isolated either making it possible to hear all your neighbors in the lodge, especially when they check in/out or do «nightly activities». All in all an alright experience, but keep in mind the size of the room and how easily sounds travel in the old building. It is also not operated and you check in/out and more by yourself.

I'm afraid I won't be returning. Is it such a big ask to get a large portion of egg fried rice with curry sauce? Very disorganised and unwelcoming.

Did not enjoy our meal there at all. The interior was messy. The business seems to have closed down now.

Excellent location, very close to the center. And exquisite treatment from all workers. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and enjoyed it very much.

We would just like to say a massive thank you to Joe and his team! The pizzas were amazing! We had so many complements on how nice they were. Joe catered for all our guest with special dietary needs such as vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. We would 100% recommend you in the future to all our friends who plan to get married they really did go down a treat. Thanks again Joe.

Hola, es fácil llegar a este hotel en auto A 64 hacia york, luego tome la A 1237 para llegar a la rotonda A 19, gire a la derecha en York y verá 2 millas aproximadamente a su derecha. Disfrutamos nuestra estancia el día de Navidad y encontramos el hotel muy limpio. El personal era muy amable y se desvivía para hacernos sentir bienvenidos. El hotel era muy cálido y acogedor, el desayuno era muy bueno. Nos alojaremos aquí de nuevo

Very good place for a variety of food

The best Costa in York. Helped me out with skimmed milk when I was in hospital two years ago very ill. They are all lovely whenever I'm in there, very helpful to me being in a wheelchair. Tea skimmed milk

Chicken was seasoned beautifully and very tender and chips were nicely spiced, quick service as well 10/10 👍

How the staff manage to feed so many people every day is a miracle. Always friendly and doing their best. Relaxed atmosphere, large choice of foods and great value for money.

Prices have gone through the roof. Food that used to cost £25 last year now costs £35. Not worth it anymore , il go elsewhere.
