everything was great quality but one item wasn't as I ordered. Ordered the OAP special and only got fish pieces and peas no chips. luckily there was enough chips in the chip butty to put with the OAP special!. It came quicker than anticipated but we are nearby. Other than missing chips I couldn't fault this place at all. Probably the fish and chips in York

Food was far too greasy, it was absolutely dripping with oil so i couldn’t eat it, the delivery man was incompetent and literally tried delivering the food to a different house then demanded my partner go meet him after a further 10 mins of him being lost. (My property is not hard to find) Kebab was plastic tasting, chips were stale and dry, battered sausages tasted like cardboard and the cheese pattys were disgusting (and greasy) Will not be ordering from here again, very disappointed.

Ordered cod bites and chips, not cod, cold & full of old grease. Corned beef pattie & cheese pattie, both frozen in middle. Complained to Just Eat, but they wanted a photo of the food a day after it went in the bin. Never mind the fact they're serving frozen food as cooked. Disgusting food and disgusting attitude from Just Eat.

Was disappointed to find that the two large kebabs ordered didn’t come with any salad or sauce and only one of them even had a pitta bread in it. The double cheeseburger was so overcooked it was like chewing leather. The chips that came were lovely though. I have a disappointed family tonight

Food arrived on time, curry sauce was hit and miss with half being basically jelly. Food was hot but smothered in grease, it was literally dripping off the chips and from the packaging. Bought enough to feed 6 and nobody finished because the grease was just too much. From my experience as a chef I would say the oil was very old and the chips were probably sat sitting for a while before served. Won’t be ordering from here again!

First time ordering here and it's absolutely delicious, like proper sea side fish and chips! Chips were nice and chunky, the cod melted in my mouth, I bought some extra little bits as well to try and even they blew my mind. Delivery guy was nice and polite as well which is a bonus

I only just recently started going here again after being very disappointed with the standard of food and the unpleasant service I was getting from here last year. It had improved a lot recently. The chips were nicely cooked, the prices for the portion sizes (very generous most of the time) were fair, I could now pay by card which is much more convenient for me as I very rarely carry cash. The staff seemed happier and looked genuinely pleased and grateful for my custom. Well I've just been in today and I can honestly say I won't be going in there again anytime soon. I ordered a large bag of chips, a battered sausage and a portion of curry sauce. There was only just enough chips for one person and they were bitty, soggy and rather sad looking. The sausage was rubbery, pale and tasteless. (It didn't even taste like a sausage) and I had to wait for a delivery man (who came in 5 minutes after I did) to get his order sorted first before myself and a lady who came in just after me They are no longer accepting card payments at the counter due to banks charging too much commission apparently (funny how so many other businesses don't seem to have a problem with card payments!). They are more than happy to take card payments on online and on phone orders though, says the hand scrawled sign on the wall!! The man who served me was miserable and looked like he didn't want to be there even though the shop was very quiet. £7.20 I paid for that overpriced rubbish!!! Wasn't even worth half of that. Bye bye Dhillon's I'm gonna be going back to Oceans. Always much better food and great customer service.

I've got food poisoning from the Kebab meat I ate last night. Have not stopped throwing up since eating it last night at about 7:30pm. This isn't the first time it's happened. But this is the last time

It was all well cooked, chunky chips, not many loose scraps ( which made me happy as I did not ask for them)

Not bad as fish & chips go . Just remember that from the end of May it will No Longer accept card payments due too rising cost by banks.

Donner kebab turned up with no salad whatsoever

I ordered a calezone abd got a pizza.

Bought medium cod and chips and a pie. Fish and pie excellent quality. The chips however were cool and rubbery (reheated?). They were delivered but I live only 5 minutes away

Absolutely.Awesome.Customer service brilliant value for money loads of food.That was very, very tasty.And gary who served me was especially welcoming and helpful and generally a very positive happy person. Ten out of ten. I had a kebab and chips and kebab with salad pita bread and all the trimmings and it was delicious. The chilli sauce and garlic yogurt was incredibly tasty. Quite possibly the best kebab i've ever had.

No salad with donna kabab .no sauce nothing .loafs of meat but when you order a donation kabad you expect the trimmings . Very disappointed

ordered a garlic kebab special pizza, which was supposed to come with kebab meat, salad and chilli sauce, did not recieve this. the chips were awful. and the mushy peas were luliquid. paid near on £45 for this and its just not nice..!

Just popped in for some chips 06/02/24. Got home and looked like I was given some leftover chips from the day before. They were dry, cold and no potato left in them. First and last time I go there.

Poor service, the cost of the food is absolutely ridiculous and the portion sizes are disgusting. A portion of donner meat, bag of chips, chicken nuggets and a jumbo sausage should feed 4 people you'd be lucky if it fed 2 people it is shocking I wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business it used to be a really nice place but now has gone down hill dramatically. I won't be going here again and I'm sure another of people won't either. While I was waiting in the queue someone ordered fish and chips before me and I watched them box it up they ended up breaking the fish and still continued to put it in the box and not even asked if that was okay if that was my food I would of sent it back and got my money back. And outrageous place and they will probably be out of business by the end of the year.

Food was late. We had ordered haggis and chips. When he arrived the driver told me they ran out of haggis so replaced it with a battered sausage. Pretty poor that they’re still selling something they’ve run out of (it’s still available to order right now) and I only picked this restaurant because they have haggis, but okay. Then I opened it up and found they didn’t even bring the chips! Literally just a battered sausage. About as incompetent as you can get really.

Fish so overcooked it was just burnt batter with hard fish inside (what was left of the fish) mushy peas once drained of all the water you could count 8 actual peas. Chicken was passable chips ok in a butty -spam fritters passable but very very greasy - would not order again

Really fealty place. The food is too greasy but not crunchy They don’t change the oil regularly I would rather go to cod father where it’s a proper chippy shop

My husband got two pizzas with extra toppings on which they didn’t do and the kebab meat on the pizzas was burnt to a crisp. One of the pizzas didn’t even have any cheese on and we was still charged for the extra toppings. Shame cos I used to like the pizzas n everything from here. I won’t be going there again!

2 hour wait and heard nothing, rang them and was given a delivery time of 7 minutes, food arrived around 20 mins later. Clearly forgot about our order. The pizza was cold upon arrival but it actually tasted very nice. Fish and chips were also cold and soggy, the only thing that was hot was the Donna kebab. Sadly I wouldn't order from here again due to the wait, but the food did taste very nice...after a 2 and a half hour wait

I had doner and chips the meat was really good and not too greasy. Portion size is good and prices are fair. Inside looked clean, with friendly staff. They prefer cash, there is lots of parking outside. I would order the meal again, it was very nice.

Not only my food came cold but also found a staple in my haddock under that batter disgusting if I’m quite honest as my kids could of swallowed that and ended up in hospital won’t be ordering from here again

Chips were perfect as always but the last two times I ordered the jumbo sausage has tasted horrible, if the recipe has changed or something I can't say I'm happy about it.

Well i ordered fish chips and gravy ended up getting gravy and fish they forgot the chips i rang them up and they said leave a note on here and next time you order from here we wont charge u for chips.Then i said no so he asked for post code so thinking he would send them out but nothing

Terrible service. Waited until I went grey for a delivery & I am talking 3 hrs plus Bad telephone manner- and quite frankly my dear they didn’t give a flying fish when I rang twice and complained. Dodge it like a cougar in Flares! Only plus was portion size was huge- just arrived cold.

I don’t understand why you’re delivery driver thinks it’s ok to ring me and ask me to come to his car outside, I pay you for delivery and I expect my delivery to the door, as i payed for delivery then I should be called to come to the driver’s car, I’m very disappointed because the driver seem to be full of excuses why he should have to leave his car 😡

After the cod father closed down i tried Dhillons chippy. The first two trips for large cod and chips were great. However my third trip the fish was small and thin. The chip portion was very small. The unfriendly woman that clearly had zero interest in working there put the fish in the box first and sprinkled a few chips on top of the fish. Now i am 62 years old could say i have been to many a chippy in my years and always they chips first fish on top. In these days of high prices i feel justified expecting top quality. Sadly not to be. Dhillons has not only lost me as a customer but all the people friends and visitors that i talk to also. Very short sighted Dhillons...... I telephoned to speak to the manager when i got home to my pitiful £10.50 meal only to be told on the phone by the same unpleasant member if staff who had served me that he was not in tonight...... That i doubt. Buyers beware Dhillons offer poor value take you hard earned cash to another chippy

Customer service was not the best! Served by a guy behind the desk and he took my order which was fine until he said 2 minutes and then disappeared (didn't see him for the rest of the time I was there), another member of staff took my order again which I explained that I had already ordered 2 large Donner wraps with lettuce, onion and garlic mayo and a fish and chips with curry sauce and a bread roll, this particular staff member did not smile once while I was there and this has been the case in previous visits, she proceeded to sort my order out and then got the wraps wrong, she put every bit of salad on there and not what I asked for then when i mentioned it to this staff member she then said that i said that i wanted salad! Yes i did want salad but only lettuce, onion and garlic mayo which was on the original order which i mentioned, then a different member if staff came to the till and said dont worry we will sort it out which to be fair she did and was very apologetic, the fish unfortunately wasn't great either and they managed to forget to put the fish and the bread roll with the rest of my order to begin with. Overall not the best experience I've had at this takeaway and it is a shame because they are normally brilliant there hence why it is a 3* rather than anything lower.

Delivery great. Pizza was beautiful and the fish and peas were lovely. Only criticism is that the chips were way too hard and dry and had more eyes than a spider. Again, everything else was beautiful and the scraps were the best we’ve ever had. Will definitely be back as everyone can have an off day!

Was very hesitant about ordering due to the mixed reviews but glad we did, good food & good portions….the only negative was the watery mushy peas. Shame or it would have been a 10/10

Food was lovely, had to wait a little longer for delivery and portion of chips missing from order with no option through just eat to state it was just chips not full meal. Would definately go here again though, portion sizes are really good and value for money! And food is nice!

Huge portions good price nice staff

Work surface in the backroom was contaminated with food crumbs, someone's dirty rucksack on top of the surface. While waiting for the chips to cook someone was scraping black/ dark brown and grease from the chip holder then wiping it with paper before putting it back so he could put the chips in it. Didn't wash his hands before serving the chips.

The worst fish&chips ever, and the most horrible customer service

I've been here many times over the years and I have to say that the other reviews don't do it justice. Yes, it can be a little disorganised if Kat isn't running the show on that particular day, but the food quality has always been great for me and the value is second to none. Portion size is great too! The pizzas taste great, the Kebab meat is tasty and the fish and fish cakes are lovely, although sometimes can have too much batter. I have to give the staff their due... they work incredibly hard, the shop is literally around the corner from the hospital and they are always so busy. Each member of the team that I've met has been fantastic but It is definitely Kat that makes each visit worthwhile because she's incredibly friendly and organised and will do whatever she can to help.

Used to really rate this place but after yesterday rubbish. Ordered online, 45 minutes before I wanted my order. Not ready when I went as the system was playing up. Then they seemed more interested in looking at the system!! Finally got my food after having to leave my mushy peas as my server kept stopping to talk to other customers instead of getting on with mine. Food was also rubbish, soggy batter on my fish. Won't be going again. Ordered through Foodhub.

Well asked for small fish and chips what I got was a fish that looked like it was cut down the middle and fried in batter looked more like fish finger hardly any fish inside big glum of batter total rip off comes in a box now hardly any chip dry bland over priced avoid

What's going on in this place. It's gone down hill. Bad communication Bad food really cold and potion sizes have halfed with bigger prices. I would have give this a Four or Five star not that long ago. And I think one star is generous.

Ordered haddock and chips and curry sauce.couldn’t believe it cost £13.60. The chips were incredibly greasy and tasted like they’d been cooked in very old dirty oil which made them inedible.the fish size was ok but also tasted so badly of rancid oil I couldn’t eat it.the fish was cooked to order but the chips had definitely been cooked a long time before.I feel thoroughly ripped off and am so angry I’ve joined trip advisor to warn people never to go near this place unless they want to be poisoned. Threw 99% in the bin,curry sauce ok.I don’t enjoy writing a bad review but this place deserves it.If I could have given a zero score I would.
