Absolutely.Awesome.Customer service brilliant value for money loads of food.That was very, very tasty.And gary who served me was especially welcoming and helpful and generally a very positive happy person. Ten out of ten. I had a kebab and chips and kebab with salad pita bread and all the trimmings and it was delicious. The chilli sauce and garlic yogurt was incredibly tasty. Quite possibly the best kebab i've ever had.

Just popped in for some chips 06/02/24. Got home and looked like I was given some leftover chips from the day before. They were dry, cold and no potato left in them. First and last time I go there.

Poor service, the cost of the food is absolutely ridiculous and the portion sizes are disgusting. A portion of donner meat, bag of chips, chicken nuggets and a jumbo sausage should feed 4 people you'd be lucky if it fed 2 people it is shocking I wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business it used to be a really nice place but now has gone down hill dramatically. I won't be going here again and I'm sure another of people won't either. While I was waiting in the queue someone ordered fish and chips before me and I watched them box it up they ended up breaking the fish and still continued to put it in the box and not even asked if that was okay if that was my food I would of sent it back and got my money back. And outrageous place and they will probably be out of business by the end of the year.

I had doner and chips the meat was really good and not too greasy. Portion size is good and prices are fair. Inside looked clean, with friendly staff. They prefer cash, there is lots of parking outside. I would order the meal again, it was very nice.

After the cod father closed down i tried Dhillons chippy. The first two trips for large cod and chips were great. However my third trip the fish was small and thin. The chip portion was very small. The unfriendly woman that clearly had zero interest in working there put the fish in the box first and sprinkled a few chips on top of the fish. Now i am 62 years old could say i have been to many a chippy in my years and always they chips first fish on top. In these days of high prices i feel justified expecting top quality. Sadly not to be. Dhillons has not only lost me as a customer but all the people friends and visitors that i talk to also. Very short sighted Dhillons...... I telephoned to speak to the manager when i got home to my pitiful £10.50 meal only to be told on the phone by the same unpleasant member if staff who had served me that he was not in tonight...... That i doubt. Buyers beware Dhillons offer poor value take you hard earned cash to another chippy

Customer service was not the best! Served by a guy behind the desk and he took my order which was fine until he said 2 minutes and then disappeared (didn't see him for the rest of the time I was there), another member of staff took my order again which I explained that I had already ordered 2 large Donner wraps with lettuce, onion and garlic mayo and a fish and chips with curry sauce and a bread roll, this particular staff member did not smile once while I was there and this has been the case in previous visits, she proceeded to sort my order out and then got the wraps wrong, she put every bit of salad on there and not what I asked for then when i mentioned it to this staff member she then said that i said that i wanted salad! Yes i did want salad but only lettuce, onion and garlic mayo which was on the original order which i mentioned, then a different member if staff came to the till and said dont worry we will sort it out which to be fair she did and was very apologetic, the fish unfortunately wasn't great either and they managed to forget to put the fish and the bread roll with the rest of my order to begin with. Overall not the best experience I've had at this takeaway and it is a shame because they are normally brilliant there hence why it is a 3* rather than anything lower.

Had Donner and chips, My Pal had fish and chips, I'm very happy. It was cheap as chips (no pun intended 😜), super fast service, and amazing food at great prices. Although we did order from the lunchtime menu.

Huge portions good price nice staff

Work surface in the backroom was contaminated with food crumbs, someone's dirty rucksack on top of the surface. While waiting for the chips to cook someone was scraping black/ dark brown and grease from the chip holder then wiping it with paper before putting it back so he could put the chips in it. Didn't wash his hands before serving the chips.

Used to really rate this place but after yesterday rubbish. Ordered online, 45 minutes before I wanted my order. Not ready when I went as the system was playing up. Then they seemed more interested in looking at the system!! Finally got my food after having to leave my mushy peas as my server kept stopping to talk to other customers instead of getting on with mine. Food was also rubbish, soggy batter on my fish. Won't be going again. Ordered through Foodhub.

What's going on in this place. It's gone down hill. Bad communication Bad food really cold and potion sizes have halfed with bigger prices. I would have give this a Four or Five star not that long ago. And I think one star is generous.

Smashing food always go there when fancy a chippy dinner. But went tonight and the woman serving was a bit rude. Had to ask for a bag and she was more concerned about talking to her friends

Good haddock chips and peas as always

Fish was delicious. Way, way too many chips. Had to stop the lady giving me more. The young girl couldn't work out my change. Needed help with calculator and then get some one else to check.

It is the best chip shop in york. Nothing is every greasy just great.

This is the second time I have been here and I've never been disappointed. I have only ordered pizza and kebab on both occasions and the food is amazing, the buy one get one free pizza deal is well worth it and they are loaded with your choice of toppings. The kebab, well what can I say, I get the large one and it never fails me, it's massive, it taste fantastic and you can choose what you want with it eg salad etc. I don't normally recommend food joints/takeaways because we all have different tastes but Dhillon's is far the best I've had in a long time and it's value for money, which makes me go back and I will carry on doing so.

2 fish and chips and one sausage and chips £29!! Avoid there are better fish and chips for a lot cheaper. The fish was poor and felt I’ll after I ate it. You have been warned, I won’t be returning

Poor blonde lady literally does everything on her own. 20 mins for cheesy chips and gravy because the other staff are lazy and ignorant.

Best kebab in York , all fresh salad , sauces are delish so are the chips and absolutely loads all for £6 it's an 11/10 from me.

Where do i start, i ordered fish butty and got fish soup was an absolute mess, had to eat through a straw. The sausage was not a sausage and tasted like dogs leg, i wouldnt even give this to my dog. Chips were soggy. Would not go back!

I went in as normal asked for pie chips peas special I always have my peas separate in pot which I asked and when my meal was ready he started pouring the peas on my chips I replied I didn't ask for them on the chips his reply extra for your peas in a pot 5 years I've been coming here always been rude staff but we liked the food won't be going bk here again

Amazing food! And the best garlic sauce in york by far!!!! Never had a bad meal from this place and I am a loyal customer! The portions are very very generous, fresh and tasty! Absolutely in love with the food I’m served and always amazing customer service time after time. Would highly recommend

Very disappointed, always loved this chip shop but not on this occasion, fish was rubbish, chips were hard, one curry sauce missing( was payed for) also didn't get chips with haddock which was £5.70, definately going elsewhere next time !

Lovely fish and chips shop! I found it buy accident on the to hospital. Good friendly staff, total covid19 safe. You have to order your food from the door and they shout you ,when your food is ready. The nice man , who sold me 2 large portion of chips for £4 ,also gave me free drinks for my girls. Really nice and friendly customer service. 👍👍👍👍. Will go there again

Wow!!!! Wonderful quality of food and service. All staffs are very cooperative. Lovely sense of humour. The cod are massive and are well cooked. Definetely recommend this place. Best in york ans town!!!

Quick service good size portion

1st visit and good and bad. Ordered 2 kebabs at £5.70 each and extra pot of chilli and was charged £12.40 in total which I thought that £1 for a pot of chilli was a bit much. Then staff said I needed to pay a £1 for the extra pot and I told her I'd already paid the other lass £12.40 but she said the receipt said I'd paid £11.40 so obviously pocketed a quid. Nice little earner if you do it to enough customers. Couldn't be bothered arguing over £1 even though I knew I was right as I know wot was in my pocket. Only saving grace was that the food was good.

Ordered 2 large fish and chips with curry sauce but when we got home we noticed that we had only been given a small fish and a portion of chips that must of been half a scoop. Other fish and chips were missing but they still got charged for what we originally ordered. Used to love going here but I'm not paying for items I did not receive

Hreat value for good food. Want a pizza, here you get 2 for the price of 1 and I've never had a bad one here. Fish and chips are excellent value, and the best I've tasted in york... really well worth a visit if your looking for good honest value. Harry the owner and his staff, especially Kat are lovely

Great food and choice. Not happy however when I was told by owner to bring Cash next time when paid on card. They accept card so not know what issue is. Yet next customer also paid by card and said nothing. So take cash with you so you not guilt tripped. Customers first,including their needs ,not your own.

Pescado de buen tamaño. Bateador ok a la mujer le gustó pero un poco empapada para míPero un buen tamaño de la porción y la comida es mucho mejor recomendar una visita.
