Coffee very weak, milk too hot so had burned taste

How the staff manage to feed so many people every day is a miracle. Always friendly and doing their best. Relaxed atmosphere, large choice of foods and great value for money.

Fish and chip is fabulous, price and quality

I can't believe the poor quality of food and standard of hygiene is in a healthenvironment. Older female member shouting at younger female member, plenty of staff but majority chatting away to each other tables are not wiped, food is third rate....management 3 in the office chatting and laughing.....appalling.

The male staff at the till is so rude. This is not the first time I’ve encountered some microaggression from ellerby’s staff. Please do better it is not nice to treat people like that.

I will be coming to York hospital a few times over the next nine weeks but if this is the best slop ellerbys can dish up i certainly won't be using them again gammon that tough you couldn't eat it cauliflower and carrots that hard you couldn't eat them Yorkshire pudding hard and cold and after spending &8.00 including a drink this was a total waste of money and they should be ashamed of themselves dishing up such slop and trying to call it food

Sausages for breakfast like eating plastic. Chicken and mushroom pie for lunch two minute pieces of chicken in it worst l have ever had

We had lunch in the cafeteria and the food was excellent quality and very good value - less than £4 per person. Chicken madras and vegetarian lasagne were both freshly prepared. Well-spiced and tasty. Coffee was good and less than half the price of Costa's.

Called early and enjoyed a very nice breakfast. Just great the hospital has this cafe/restaurant, people are often here for hours waiting so they provide an invaluable service 👍

Ok, it’s probably not the most romantic of places to bring your partner but I opted for the noodle bar as I was flying solo. The portion size was huge and jam packed with fresh noodles, fresh veg, freshly chopped coriander, chopped chilli, your choice of beef or pork (if wanted) and topped with a meaty broth (or veg broth) poured over the top. If you were in the Shambles Market this would be the best part of a tenner but for me, not even 4 quid. Plenty of other options too, your standard fair and sandwich/snack/drink meal deal for less than 4 pound. Enjoy!

TLDR: In a rush to fill your stomach? Ellerby's just about manage. This is cafeteria food done at its most mediocre. Cheap traybakes, tasteless chips. If your intention is to fill your stomach it just about manages to do that for a reasonable price, but then again no price is too low for disappointing food! On another note Ellerby's occasionally puts something either vegetarian or vegan on the menu but it is a laughable box ticking exercise obviously. Their christmas offering was supposedly a 'Vegan Wellington' what they actually served was half an undercooked butternut squash with a thin layer of passable stuffing smeared lightly across the top. In conclusion, avoid if you can.

Es un comedor de hospital. Pero es bastante bueno. El domingo es el do Carvery y en general es excelente. Nada lujoso, por supuesto, pero muy sabroso.

We called in here just before visiting my brother. I was surprised by the size of the place and the variety of food on offer. The portions are not large, but quite adequate for the price that is paid, and it tasted lovely
