The best restaurants in York Yorkshire and The Humber

This was a really good old-school locals pub that I’ve been using for over 30 years, and it still could be, but they’ve taken away the very last low-level comfy seating with tables in front of them, to make room for a pool table. Bad decision; it’s dragged your score well down.

The room was alright itself ! Could use a bit of TLC, maybe fix that shelf! The host, the bartender, the over all feeling Not sure it made the venue quite so appealing We had a funny time, maybe not for the right reasons Good luck with room for the rest of the seasons

Baby shower, with afternoon tea at The Old School Rooms in Wiggington. Fantastic food, catering for different food intolerances. Phoned me up before hand to check my gluten free options was OK for me. Couldn’t fault the service and friendliness, nothing was too much trouble. Can’t praise it enough. Shame I don’t live local, or would be using them a lot. Thank you for making it such a great event.

Very disappointed. Food could have been much better if the chef cared more. The lasagne was cold. Staff were inattentive and not at all friendly. No heating in upstairs seating area.

Vino a almorzar un viernes muy ocupado durante la mitad del trimestre, pero nos sentamos inmediatamente - un ambiente muy agradable y frío en el interior (la música era genial también! ) Pedimos el inglés completo y huevos revueltos en tostadas que llegaron rápidamente; los huevos todavía estaban humeantes y cocinados maravillosamente 😋 Mi compañero pensó que el inglés completo era sabroso. Servicio amable y volvería a comer ya que todos los platos que salen de la cocina se veían encantadores.

Visité recientemente para tomar el té y pastel y nos alegramos de que lo hicimos. El té estaba bueno y el pastel era impresionante. Mi esposa tiene el pastel de queso vasco mientras yo tenía el pastel de queso pistacho. Ambos fueron excelentes. El restaurante está muy bien situado cerca del Minster, el personal es amable y la cafetería es cómoda, limpia y acogedora.

The Chole Dosa was perfect. The dosa was cooked fresh while I waited, and served with spiced chick peas as well as sambar and coconut sauces. The price was £6 which was very reasonable. Served in biodegradable packaging.

Not that much choice for food, and it's mostly cake. But cake was good and staff friendly.

Probably the best food in the world :)

Estábamos celebrando un cumpleaños especial así que reservamos el té de la tarde para 27 personas, incluidos adultos, niños y varias personas con alergias y todos fueron atendidos sin ningún problema. Fiona era brillante en la comunicación a la derecha a través de la reserva y el día en que todo estaba delicioso, el café estaba muy bien configurado y nada era demasiado problema para ella. Recomendaría encarecidamente usar Love to eat para una función privada y sin duda volveremos de nuevo en el futuro.

Great food service spot on staff great

Stopped here for breakfast this morning and was pleasantly surprised. The service was very quick and efficient and the food was superb. Very reasonably priced. Asked for a large coffee and got a LARGE coffee, very unusual these days. Very impressed, will definitely return. Suggest you try it.

Excellent authentic Syrian food and reasonably priced (for central York). Had chicken shawarma and looking forward to lamb shawarma next time. Staff lovely too!
