Baby shower, with afternoon tea at The Old School Rooms in Wiggington. Fantastic food, catering for different food intolerances. Phoned me up before hand to check my gluten free options was OK for me. Couldn’t fault the service and friendliness, nothing was too much trouble. Can’t praise it enough. Shame I don’t live local, or would be using them a lot. Thank you for making it such a great event.

We are thrilled that we asked Tealicious to provide afternoon tea for after my son's christening today. This was their first event in Wigginton Old School and it was absolutely perfect. The venue looked fantastic and was the perfect size with a separate little room to set up some children's activities. The food was delicious with many of our guests commenting that it was the best afternoon tea that they'd ever had. Heather & the team were so lovely and welcoming and made everyone feel comfortable. We would highly recommend using Tealicious in Wigginton Old School for events such as christenings and baby showers etc- you won't be disappointed!

I just want to say a huge huge thankyou from myself and my4 friends for top notch service. Booked for afternoon tea for our friends birthday and wow what an amazing time we all had. The kindness and support from all the staff was out of this world. Birthday candles and the entire tea rooms singing not once but twice to our friend. It just made the day more special. We visited today for breakfast, something we don't do very often. We couldn't decide between Tealicious and the cafe opposite but opted for Tealicious as there was plenty of available seating. The staff were very friendly and efficient and had soon brought us our menus. Unfortunately, other than fried/scrambled eggs on toast or beans there was no veggie breakfast or veggie breakfast bap, other than egg. As we were already sat and my husband had ordered I went with the scrambled eggs on toast at £6,50. Our breakfasts arrived and I appreciate there isn't much you can do with scrambled eggs but it really wasn't very nice. The texture and taste were "odd", but certainly not off, and at the price we paid for two slices of toast and the eggs it was very disappointing. Because of this I didn't eat the eggs and had to have half of the beans left in the pot that went with my husband's brekkie. It's a shame there is no other veggie option given that breakfasts are served until 11 am and there is a full kitchen available to cook in. Shame because we have eaten here a while ago and it was nice, but lunchtime.

First visit here & will be returning. Usually visit the café opposite but thought we’d try here. I wasn’t disappointed. Great service. Dogs welcome & even a treat for them! Ordered an americano , and as I don’t like it strong they happily brought me a pot of hot water. Had the half breakfast & my friend the scrambled eggs on toast. Both lovely. Staff were friendly & accommodating. Keep up the good work & will be telling my Friends about.

Serves good coffee and lovely hot sandwiches. Fair price and good service. Different look than the pic above, which is much more less formal, very cozy.

We were very impressed with the quality and value of our afternoon tea. Full sized sandwiches crammed with tasty fillings, delicious 'proper' home-made scones and a selection of cakes and brownie. The tearoom is quirky and fun with helpful, friendly staff. I definitely recommend afternoon tea here, though I have no idea how they make any profit on it!!

Enjoyed an informal business lunch, delicious food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Was lovely to sit out in the sun - can highly recommend. Better that a high street chain for sure! Can recommend Home Made Coronation Chicken which was delicious and great coffee too.

Had my Daughter-in-Laws baby shower here today and it was fantastic. Heather and Eric the owners were so accommodating and friendly. Food was lovely, room a great size ideal for a party of 20-25 people. Definitely recommend. Thank you!

Got to say I had heard great things about this business. I went in this morning and it was totally empty with 2 silent unwelcoming staff behind the counter. I asked if I could look at the menu before we made our mind up if to stay as I am gluten free. We decided to stay and my daughter asked if we could just pick a table. One of the staff grunted at us to sit at a table for just 2 although the place was empty, we told her we were waiting for 2 friends to arrive and she still was very stern faced. I instantly ushered my daughter out and said we would knave as I did not like the atmosphere. I was very disappointed with our poor welcome.

I arranged for an afternoon tea to be delivered for my mum and son the day after mothers day. The communication throughout was quick and friendly. Delivery was on time and everything was really well packaged and presented. Both of them loved the food and cakes, there was even enough left over for me when I got home from work! Thank you so much

We were treated to afternoon tea by our workplace and it was by far the nicest afternoon tea I have had. I now have to follow a gluten free diet and things can be hit and miss especially with bread and cakes. The portions are very generous and I couldn’t fault anything I had, it was all absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning customers. Thank you again for such a lovely afternoon tea.

Truly A hidden gem of a cafe very good covid measures, we ordered bacon and egg butty and bacon butty lovely in bloomer bread you can have your tea in cup and saucer or mug. But bone China idea recommend anyone to visit

El 26/09/2020 celebré aquí mi baby shower. Fue simplemente asombroso. El personal era muy servicial con nosotros, que iban desde niños pequeños hasta comedores y bebedores exigentes. El té de la tarde estuvo delicioso. El personal participó en la evaluación de nuestro concurso de crecimiento de bebés. Gracias por hacer el día tan especial.

¡Un lugar que en realidad tiene un cuchillo y un tenedor para el té de la tarde! Visité este encantador lugar con mi madre para tomar un té por la tarde. Reservé con anticipación y estaba tan bien como el lugar estaba lleno. La selección de sándwiches era buena, con una variedad de tipos de pan. Los pasteles y bollos individuales eran claramente caseros. Una buena taza de té de hojas sueltas que se reponía, a pedido, con agua caliente sin cargo adicional. Encantador ver que la vajilla de porcelana vintage resurge y se utiliza para su propósito original. Joya de lugar.

Visited Tealicious whilst in Haxby and I’m very pleased we did. It’s a lovely shop, a really authentic English tea room with quality food and drinks to match. The service was excellent and friendly too.

Happened to be in the area and found this place on tripadvisor. I don’t often leave reviews but I have to say that the staff at Tealicious couldn’t have been more accommodating, the ambiance was perfect and the coffee and lunch was excellent. Highly recommended!!

En la situación actual en la que nos encontramos, tengo que decir que el salón de té se sentía muy seguro, había desinfectantes de manos en las mesas y el personal también usaba máscaras faciales.En general, un regalo encantador. Solo quiero comenzar diciendo que creo que, dado el clima económico actual, el propietario de un negocio debería tener más cuidado con sus actitudes hacia el servicio al cliente. No solo fue incómodo para aquellos con quienes estaba, sino también para los clientes de los alrededores y otros miembros del personal.Supongo que debería haber tomado la obra de arte de Golliwogg como una bandera roja antes incluso de sentarnos. Luego escuchamos al propietario, muy audiblemente, ser grosero con nuestra solicitud a la camarera, diciendo "no tienes otra opción".Cuando llegamos a pagar la cuenta, nos cobraron 2 tés de la tarde a pesar de haber pedido solo 1, porque lo compartimos. Entonces, el propietario decidió que estábamos equivocados y que habíamos cometido el error de pensar que al pedir 1 té de la tarde pagaríamos el precio de 1. No puedo evitar pensar que este es un plan para ganar dinero durante el sistema de "comer fuera para ayudar". Visited today with a group of friends,service was excellent. Food outstanding,ambiance is quirky lots to look at while you are waiting for your food. We felt really safe as staff all had face masks on. Lovely place highly recommend, will definitely be returning.

Llegamos 20 minutos antes, sin saber dónde estaba el local y dónde aparcar. Aparcamos a poca distancia y caminamos por la encantadora ciudad de Haxby, un lugar muy bonito lleno de encantadoras cabañas de ladrillo rojo.A nuestra llegada nos recibió el propietario que no se inmutó por nuestra llegada tan temprano. Pronto tuvimos una mesa, nos trajeron té y nos prepararon nuestros bocadillos. Llegaron los bocadillos y los pasteles. Los bocadillos eran buenos, sin embargo, los pasteles eran excepcionales. Los bollos eran de fruta y sencillos con mermelada y cremas. Un bollo de crema siguió y luego una rebanada de Bakewell. El resto no pudimos comerlo, así que nos lo llevamos.Volveremos con la familia la semana que viene.

Mi hermano y mi cuñada le habían comprado a mi madre un vale para el té de la tarde para 2 personas por su 90 cumpleaños en noviembre pasado. ¡Mi mamá no había tenido la oportunidad de ir porque se había sometido a un reemplazo de rodilla en diciembre pasado y luego con la pandemia de Covid! Bueno, llamé por teléfono y antes de haberles explicado completamente la situación, dijeron que respetarían el bono a pesar de que se había agotado en abril. Bajé a recoger el té hoy y fue encantador e incluso pusieron una hermosa rosa en la caja. Recomiendo encarecidamente este encantador café, ya que creo que van más allá con su calidad y servicio al cliente.

Mañana ocupada y luego de compras con ganas de una buena taza de té y un lugar para almorzar, llame aquí, aunque cerraba a las 2 pm y eran de 5 a 2, no hubo problema, nos hizo sentir bienvenido y sírvase con té y un sándwich, sin prisa. comer y salir mientras dejamos a otras personas entrar y obsequiarnos en el mismo lugar fabuloso y comida que vale la pena visitar> Me sentí muy seguro, una gran distancia social.

Lovely homemade soup ! The staffs seem forgot our order and miscommunication. Think because whole member family came. And all are deaf. Good price too and nice place

Lovely cafe, with a good range of meal options and friendly staff! Also the decor looks fab and unique.

Three of us went for lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere created with them using antiquey pieces to decorate and they used pretty old china teapots cups and saucers etc. It was very busy and they had run out of some things on the menu but the tuna and cheese panini i had was absolutely delicious, and it came with a lovely very fresh salad and home made cole slaw. We all enjoyed our lunch and would definitely come here again.

My mum & I decided to try afternoon tea here a couple of months ago. We took my 2 year old and newborn baby in with us and the staff were so accommodating to get the pushchair in. The afternoon tea is SO good I’d 100% recommend it. The carrot cake was delicious! The staff are really friendly too

We called in at lunchtime, very busy, which is always encouraging. We had the soup 7 sandwich combo, great value. Both the soup & sandwiches were delicious. We had to sample the cakes obviously, a very generous portion of carrot cake and the Victoria sponge, both 10/10. Might be worth reserving as tables filled upon quickly-says it all about this lovely little teashop.

It lives up to it’s name with a lovely vintage vibe. Excellent soup and sandwich. Great to be served tea in a real vintage teapot. Excellent staff. My first visit but I will be returning.

A lovely little english tea shop with great food ideal for small groups of friends or family to have get together over some lovely home cooked food and cakes. afternoon teas are very popular. very friendly staff . some outside seating for the nicer days. Just off the main street nestled in a small shopping area.

Was a lovely unique place in Haxby for afternoon tea. Not sure what’s happened to this lovely place but it is unrecognisable and is very in inviting and a miss match of looks!!!! We miss the beautiful tea shop this once was.

Stopped by for breakfast. Decided in the poached eggs and a latte. Poached eggs were perfectly cooked with a runny golden yoke and served with thick freshly cut granary toast with butter.a all served with a friendly smile. Will definitly be back for cake later!

Well, fellow Trip Advisors! Must say that this little tearoom is perfect for that morning coffee, afternoon tea and lunch! We usually go on a Friday morning when we are served by the delightful Jackie - She always gives us a lovely welcome and we do not bother having to order - she knows what we want - fabulous customer service. Thank you! The rest of the staff are pleasant, friendly and really can’t do enough to make the experience pleasant. Jessica and Freddie love their Friday mornings, as do we! The tea room provides colouring books, pencils and a few little toys for small children. Well done!

Visited for a full English that wasn’t cooked very well at all. Bacon very fatty and stringy. All seemed very rushed and undercooked to us. Coffee was just par really, not bad but coffee has got so good recently at a lot of independent places you expect more. Partner had a cake which was enjoyed and probably the best bit. Outside area looked like and afterthought, if you want to sit outside there’s a place opposite with a much better area.

This is a great cafe...one of the nicest I've been to. The food is completely delicious but it's the little touches from the pretty individual crockery, to the friendly service and general nice atmosphere that makes this place a plus 5 rating and definitely a place to return to.

Super nice tearoom with very friendly staff. I love the vintage theme and the mismatched vintage crockery. Had a wonderful and fresh piece of lime and pistachio cake and a very nice cafe latte.

My friend and I went for afternoon tea on Friday 24th May, we had reserved a table in advance. It was busy when we arrived so I was glad we had booked a table. The staff were very friendly and happy. The afternoon tea was served swiftly and was a strong 10 out of 10. Gorgeous fresh grainery bread, lovely egg and cheese and coronation chicken sandwich fillings, salt and vinegar crisps, still warm scone each with jam and cream, then a small Victoria sponge, lemon cake, carrot cake and chocolate brownie, all washed down with tea. I think I have found a diamond of a tearoom for a treat. As a side note, plenty of parking at the front and rear of the tearoom.

I have just had my baby shower here and it was fab, great venue, lovely afternoon tea and the customer service was second to none. Highly recommend. The staff are excellent so friendly and on the ball.

Eight of us had afternoon tea & spent a good couple of hours here. We weren't rushed away & service was very good. Dietary requirements were catered for.

Treated my mother to Tea for Two and Wow. Absolutely delicious sandwiches, cakes and homemade fruit scones with beautiful jam and delightful clotted cream. So yummy. Lovely atmosphere , clean and very friendly lovely members staff, everything we asked for we got including soya milk as mother is allergic to milk. Pot of tea went on and on. Highly recommend this delightful delicious cute little lovely decorated place with smiles all round. They do other food too, not just tea and cakes. Definitely will be returning. Visited Haxby with my mother and as it was lunchtime this looked an ideal choice. Menu is not extensive but there’s sufficient choice to cater for most tastes (jacket potatoes/soup/sandwiches etc plus afternoon tea). Jacket potatoes are certainly a filling meal here (we would have had two but there was only one left when we ordered). Interior is eclectic (40s based), light and airy plus staff chatty and friendly - there’s also a couple of tables outside. It’s just nice to give custom to a local independent rather than a “usual suspect” coffee chain of which there is one close by (Costa).

Absolutely fabulous place. We had afternoon tea for a Baby Shower, a specially private function that was held on a Sunday. We were made so welcome, nothing was too much trouble and they were so pleasant with a great sense of humour. The food was delicious, tastey fresh,and scrummy. What more could you ask for. This is definately a great discovery and is going to be the place I'm going to visit in the future.

Visited this tea room for a surprise Baby shower today, what a wonderful venue, lovely friendly welcoming staff, fantastic afternoon tea, wonderful relaxed atmosphere, lots of tea and coffee, cakes and sandwiches were amazing and plenty for everyone, would definitely recommend you could not be disappointed .

What a Great! We popped in as keep seeing the social media on this place and had not managed to go yet. The place is cosy and friendly, we got a nice corner. The staff were friendly and we ordered a got drink and a sandwich each. The foid was so fresh, delicious and ample of it. The homemade coleslaw was lush and we left totally stuffed. We opted for take out scones s they looked so good! All this,for under £20! We will return soon! Thank you.

First impressions when we walked in the door was a welcoming

I visited here yesterday with my friends for afternoon tea, they had thrown me a suprise baby shower. The venue was perfect, it's very quaint and pretty. The owners had hung some baby clothes on a washing line above our table which looked very cute. The service was quick, there was plenty of food to go around, infact we couldn't eat it all. They kindly gave us some paper boxes to take the extra cakes home. There were plenty to choose from with regards to sandwiches and cakes and we all left full and feeling content. The owners and staff were all really helpful, friendly and accommodating. I had a lovely afternoon and I would say the venue was perfect. The price was extremely reasonable as well. This place is a hidden gem, tucked away in beautiful haxby. I would highly recommend checking it out.

Just attended a surprise 60th party here where we were served afternoon tea. The selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones was absolutely fantastic. The selection of different teas was great, the service was fantastic nothing was too much trouble for them they catered for gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan. Although they are normally closed on a Sunday you can hire the place for special occasions. I would definitely recommend you give this place a visit you will not be disappointed.

Came here last weekend for breakfast with my sister. It was so lovely. The food was great and staff very friendly. The decor in the cafe was amazing! Half of the cafe is set up to look like a war bunker and everything is rustique and vintage looking. They’ve even got some old newspapers you can read. They serve PROPER TEA with the little filter to put over your China cup. Seem to have had a revamp since the photos on here as these don’t do it justice. Absolutely worth a visit!

Very nice cafe and good choice of food. Cafe based on world war theme and very interesting place to sit. Staff very pleasant. Very clean. Breakfasts served plus a good range of cake, sarnies, jacket potatoes etc. Outside seating when weather good.

My second visit to this lovely tea room. I was there for a baby shower and our whole group enjoyed our lovely afternoon tea. It was at the end of a busy Saturday but the staff were friendly and very efficient. Thankyou.

100% my favourite tearoom that I have ever been to. Have been plenty of times now, we aim to go every month, my favourite is a panini and of course my daughter loves the cakes and milkshakes. Staff are always quick and friendly, all is well priced and lovely decor. Will definitely be back again!!

We went for afternoon tea here as my mum had received a voucher as a present. When we arrived the tea room looked lovely, very quaint and nice decor. When ordering earl grey from the afternoon tea menu we were told it was 50p extra, I queried this as it was only 20p extra on the menu, a man on another table near us (I assume manager or owner) then started to explain that it was 50p more as it cost more?? And that £11 per person was very cheap compared to other afternoon teas. (I have been to many afternoon teas all over the country and world) and the lovely Wiggington farm shop up the road does £15 for 2 people and is 100% nicer) . He was very rude and said if we didn't like it nothing they could do as that's the way it was. Accept it or don't. Very strange to have a mark up when your buying extra. A breakfast tea was included at the price of £2,25 earl grey was 50p more even though only £2.45 on the menu.

Visited this cafe with my mother,We were given a very friendly welcome.All the staff seem nice.Service was a little slow as they couldve brought the coffees first.We asked for cheese scones but they were plain tasting but we didnt comment or complain.Latte is nice.I like the oldie worldie feel.Think we would return.Dont like the fly,s buzzing round.Suggest they keep the door closed.

Couldn’t fault Tealicious at all, myself & 3 others organised a baby shower here for 29 people & it was perfect! They even added little banner decorations, afternoon tea was gorgeous, selection of cakes & sandwich’s! Staff lovely, kept topping up tea & coffee & checking on people where needed! Would def come back for tea & a cake & would recommend to anyone having a private function!

We were visiting friends and wanted to go out for breakfast and they chose Tealicious. An excellent choice of cafe! Vintage style cafe decorated with care. Created with photos, China, toys, wallpaper and artefacts. We ordered two lots of scrambled eggs on toast, £3.25 per portion and two lots of bacon sandwiches (£3.95 per portion) Pot of tea, American and decaf cappuccino for drinks. It was all served on floral porcelain crockery. Delightful! The toilet even had a vintage cistern and pull chain! The cakes in the chiller cabinet looked very interesting. The staff were happy, charming, friendly and helpful.

Old fashioned tea room located in Haxby. Very friendly and great to meet up with friends and family. Lovely atmosphere and good service. Lots of choice on the menus. Looking forward to the gin tasting evenings coming soon

The service here is excellent and its lovely to get away from the big chain coffee shops and have a quaint tea room with wonderful cakes. Definitely a relaxing place to visit

Currently staying near to Haxby we visited last year and enjoyed thought we would back for another delicious treat.

I had my baby shower here on Sunday (29/07/18) there were 24 of us all together and it was such a lovely afternoon. We booked the venue for 2hrs but were able to go in earlier to decorate if we wanted, it really isn't needed as the decor is absolutely stunning. The owners had even hung out vintage baby grows which looked fab and were a lovely touch. The afternoon tea itself was 10/10 the sandwich flavours were a great mixture and the cakes were tasty and a great selection. There was also a choice of plain or raisin scones with cream and jam. The food here is fresh and plentiful, we were all very full. The owners were there serving and interacting with everyone, they are lovely people and I really hope this venture is a massive success for them. There is a car park just at the door of the tea room which is really handy and it is quite secluded down an alley of a few shops, I liked it that it was not a busy city centre street.

I quite often pop in here and i am always greeted with a smile from either Eric or Heather and the staff are great too. The food is always freshly made and delicious and the cakes are to die for!. There are alot of tea/coffee places to go in the area but Tealicious is by far the best. Well done ...keep up the great work.

Lovely decor ,love the china cups and saucers that are miss matched you can't beat tea out of a china cup and very good tea.Beautiful made sandwiches with lots of delicious fillings.Good selection of scones and very yummy cakes and lovely staff as well.We wi. be returning

Lovely tea room! visited this week with friends to celebrate 2x60th Birthdays. We had the afternoon tea and it was lovely Sandwiches( of our choice) crisps,scones with jam and cream and LOTS of cake!! We were even given a box to bring away the cake we couldn't eat. Great Place !!

Lovely tea room with a very quirky feel. Wonderful atmosphere. The food is prepared for you personally. Everything from a bacon butty to afternoon tea.

Great attention to detail, fab atmosphere & decor & very welcoming. Not my first visit here with friends not my last as the service and quality of food is consistently good! A great place if you have time to go.

Visited this week with my husband and 2 granddaughters . It was one of my granddaughters 8 th birthday . We went for afternoon tea . The staff were very friendly and very accommodating tailoring my granddaughters tea to suit an 8 yr old.

After coming here for lunch and really enjoying it, I arranged my sisters baby shower here last month. There was 20 of us having afternoon tea. I cannot put into words how much effort they went to to make it special. They even added extra decorations when I said I would provide them. All the food was as fresh as can be and just delicious. The staff and owners were so polite and helpful, they made us feel right at home in this beautiful little cafe. Highly recommended for special occasions, for lunch or even just a cuppa.

We were in the area and came across this place - It was a wonderful find! Great lunch soup and a sandwich - Would have had cake as well but we were in a rush. Will we go back - MOST DEFIANTLY

The staff were pleasant perhaps a little too fussy. The food was average which wasn’t enhanced by the decor and jumble of ‘bits’. Felt like I was in a glorified outdated dolls house.

So many people had told me how wonderful this place was. Well, I couldn't agree more!! What a fantastic place with a wonderful atmosphere. The owners were very personable and the service was excellent. The Afternoon Tea was delicious, 4 x sandwiches each (many options to chose from), 4 x cakes and 2 x scones. We will definitely be back!!!

Whenever visiting family nearby feel the need to visit Tealicious for a bacon sarnie, coffee and a crack easily the best café in this location.

Second time visiting this delightful tearoom. Brilliantly decorated, one steps back in time to a collage of Britannic past, With reminiscent music to match. Very welcoming, friendly staff, immaculately clean, exceptionally fresh. Tealicious, DELICIOUS!

Visited with two children (11,13) on a wet and cold January lunchtime. Place was full. Fortunately I had reserved a table for afternoon tea. What a lovely, warm ambiance and service with a smile. Good menu. Good price. Delicious food. Good music too!. Kids enjoyed the experience very much. Highly recommended. Can't wait to return.

My friends and I had been looking forward to trying this lovely looking cafe out and the decor did not disappoint! Unfortunately we were spoken to in a rather curt fashion upon our arrival and told they would be closing early. The early closing time (unadvertised as far as we could tell from the website!) was still just over an hour after we had got there, and there were still a fair number of tables of customers with fresh drinks and snacks left. However, the staff started to clean up around us in a very deliberate fashion, making us feel like our custom was not at all valued and that we would not be able to sit and enjoy a coffee and cake comfortably. As a result, we went elsewhere and are not inclined to return.

Went here with my mum and couldn’t believe the amazing service and explosive flavour from the soup, panini, clotted cream and jam scones and the milkshakes absolutely fabulous

I have been to this establishment on a few occasions with both family and friends. A very nice welcome awaits and the service is warming and friendly. Today we ordered hot crumpets but unfortunately they were served on a very cold plate, which meant they soon went cold. However the tea and coffee were right on the ball. A nice atmosphere to sit and chat with friends with no undue pressure to move on. Thank you for a nice experience. Music was lovely - we will return.

Still the best place in Haxby for tea and cake! I visit Haxby once a year and I'm delighted that this little gem hasn't been pushed out of the market by what seems like a growing number of cafes nearby.

We came here with a group of friends for afternoon tea. Everything was perfect from the tasty sandwiches, delicious scines and gorgeous cakes. Will definitely be visiting again.

I popped in for a quick bite to eat. Lovely food and service. The decor is delightful as is the traditional attire of the staff. I will be back.
