Lovely cafe with friendly staff and good quality cakes. But today it was like a dog sanctuary. Dogs smell and the dog at the next table kept jumping up at me. Are dog owners so selfish!? Surely dogs shouldn’t be in cafes where people are eating? How can that be hygienic? Shops like Next don’t even allow them in, but places serving food?? The waitress couldn’t even serve at the next table as the dog kept getting in the way. Will probably not go back due to that policy. Shame.

Though it was really busy as it was mother day the staff and the service were really good, Very friendly and reassuring. The coffee and food were really good and great value. Will definitely be visiting again.

I have been going to curious cafe for many years and have enjoyed my coffee, food and the atmosphere on every occasion. Whilst visiting on Sat 13th Jan around 1pmish I noticed a gentleman put his full hand into the tub of mini brownies without using the tongs, even though the tongs where there. Albeit the brownies were going into a liquidiser it was still unpleasant to see whilst waiting for my take away coffee, especially as his hand had touch other brownies in the tub. I politely decline mine on this occasion. I feel this gentleman is letting the cafe, and the rest of the staff, who are all amazing and work very hard down. A quiet word to the member of staff should hopefully stop this from happening again. Hence the reason I still rated the 4 stars.

Popped in for breakfast on our first trip to Haxby. The cafe was busy but we were soon shown to a table and our order taken. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. The staff were all very efficient and eager to please. Would thoroughly recommend

We had to queue to get in for over half an hour, we needed a table for 4. However it was well worth the wait. The food was fantastic.

The service was very friendly, efficient and quick. We had chilli beef on chips with cheese. Lovely lean chunks of beef and chips homemade. Flexibility on the menu. Wouldn't definitely recommend and go again. This place was recommended by my son who had previously had a good experience.

Great coffee, great food and lovely staff. We generally treat ourselves to the cheese scone with caramelised onion and a dollop of sour cream. Butter also comes with it, but we decline that. This is absolutely delicious. The other food on offer also looks very tempting. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Stopped for lunch here on the spur of the moment as our usual coffee stop was closed. The staff were friendly and the service was very quick even though the place was full. The food was delicious and home cooked and a good choice of cakes which I will leave room for next time.

Always get great food here, staff are rushing but we always get great service. Thanks for feeding us most weekends!! Quirky decor, eggs Benedict is the top choice. Coffee and hot chocolates are fabulous, and always have a few different brownies to choose from.

Staff seem unhappy , stressed . Very warm to eat in side . Coffee great . Felt like we had walked into someone's house uninvited !

Just had a lovely bacon sandwich and scrambled egg for our brunch. Catered very well for gluten free needs with top quality food. Brilliant service and friendly staff. Will be visiting again!

Party of four called for drinks and something to eat and sat outside on benches with a clean table. Three of us had bacon sandwiches and were bowled over by the amount of bacon inside. One of our party wanted gluten free bread and this wasn’t a problem. The coffee was good and strong without being overpowering and bitter. We haven’t been here for a few years due to poor service but today’s crew were on the ball. They were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient and the drinks / food arrived quickly. Paying the bill was unusually quick too. A very pleasant sojourn

Always take part in pizza night, they are stunning, beautiful base, lovely choice. Husband had pasty pizza with garlic oil and I had my favourite chicken ceaser salad, it was delicious. Often call in for coffee and cake, French toast and bacon sandwich. Lovely food and staff, they allow dogs which is great for us, and we're supporting local. Highly recommended

I am a regular visitor to the CCC. I primarily go for the excellent flat white and brownie (lots of different types - all delicious), however the savoury food is lovely too. Last week, as I ordered a takeaway in my CCC bamboo cup, we noticed a crack. Eddie happened to be on site and replaced it free of charge. It's this kind of service that keeps me coming back, not to mention the food, drink and friendly service.

Had a coffee and just the best bacon sandwich I’ve ever had this week. Downloaded their app which gave me £10 to spend for just a fiver. Works so easy and ordering ahead ready for collection with no queuing is ideal in these times. Staff excellent too. Will be back

Went on a long walk today and ended up in Haxby. I hadn’t tried the curious coffee company so we decided to get some brownies and hot chocs! Such a great selection of brownies and drinks. The staff are ever so friendly, and explained their new app to us. Felt very safe ordering, will have to use the app next time for contactless pick up! Will definitely be coming back.

We usually go to curious for the pizza because it is outstanding and homemade. Additionally, we also go for lunch/brunch and the cheesy chips are to die for. The dessert counter also has a lot of choice and the desserts are amazing. The servers are extremely friendly and the food comes in an acceptable amount of time.

La ensalada César es una gran opción, pero esta vez probamos algo un poco diferente Shakshuka. ¡Fantástico! ! Y rematado con un obligatorio brownie.

This is one of the nicest coffee shops we have ever been to! The service is absolutely amazing, the staff are extremely friendly and the food is fresh. Definitely will be returning again and I highly recommend this place!

Called in for brunch, believe me you won’t be disappointed. A real taste sensation. Even though I had to drive across York to get there it was well worth the trip.

This is my favourite coffee shop. There is always a warm welcome & service is very quick, even when it is busy. Social Distancing was very good.

Vine aquí especialmente en un viaje a York. No estoy seguro de cómo nos enteramos, pero no nos decepcionó. Se llenó rápida y fácilmente una página de seguimiento y rastreo "sin complicaciones". Las tostadas de aguacate con tocino y halloumi eran deliciosas y tenían una excelente relación calidad-precio. Rocky road y capuchino después igualmente asombrosos. Este fue un lugar súper pequeño para almorzar con una cálida bienvenida y un servicio atento. Es fácil ver por qué este lugar tiene críticas tan fabulosas. Bien merecido.

Last night myself and 2 friends went for a catch up at the pizza night that curious coffee company hold and we had a superb night. The atmosphere was amazing and the food and wine was incredible. I will 100% be booking on for the next one. I would recommend to all.

Wide range of teas. I had the rhubarb tea and a mixed platter which was delicious. Quite large portions which I couldn't get through. Leave space for the brownies too!

I absolutely love this place. It is such a hidden gem. It is so reasonably priced. All the food is good quality and the cakes are to die for, especially the brownies. I can't get enough of them. I highly recommend this place. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.

Breaks the mould! Second visit and had a beautiful coffee and a platter of tasty goodness. How a ploughman’s should be, meaty sausage roll, fresh bread, chutneys, creamy cheese. Other half had chilli... think big chunks of slow cooked, melt in the mouth beef. Fabulous place

Called in today for lunch had to wait a little while for a table as the place was full, we were kept informed thru out how long it would be. Got our table and our order was taken promptly and our food arrived shortly after. All 4 dishes tasted and looked fantastic. I got a flat white and brownie to go and they to were great. Thanks guys

Después de haber visitado la curiosa mesa en Easingwold muchas veces, nos emocionó descubrir que Haxby tenía la suya. Regularmente visitamos para tomar un brunch los fines de semana y nunca decepciona.Por supuesto, luego tomamos algunos brownies por la tarde (no es que siempre duren tanto).

We went for the pizza night and it was fab, we had a cheesiness pizza and vegan mozzarella alternative one and both were really tasty. Just wish they had a vegan cake for afters!

Had a great evening at the recent pizza night. Was lucky to get a table thanks to a cancellation that day and it's easy to see why it's so popular. Went with hubby and daughters (age 12 and 9). Was surprised there was a kids menu, so 9 year old chose from that. Pizzas were delicious and such good value. Staff were lovely - attentive and welcoming despite being very busy.

Lovely scone, still slightly warm, coffee and tea both great. Staff nice and freindly. One slight down was the female staff wearing nail varnish (no latex gloves covering) - not sure how that got by in an establishment with a top (5*) hygiene rating?

We are regulars of this little coffee shop and we always love going for breakfast or lunch. Their Pizza Night event we went to recently was brilliant! Amazing quality Pizzas with a calm enjoyable atmosphere. Amazing as always.

I had some free time and needed a brew, so I popped in to this delightful little place, I had tea and a toasted tea cake with butter and jam, it was well presented, clean, yummy and the staff were fab, lively little place and fantastic shops nearby, I will be returning x

Cafe in the pedestrian precinct. We need lunch to suit a gluten free and a dairy free diet. Very helpful server checking on ingredients, all food is made up fresh and they were willing to be flexible, substituting mayonnaise for the caesar sauce. My earl grey tea came in a cute cast iron teapot.

My husband and I had lunch here today and it was brilliant. I had a chicken caesar salad and he had a panini - both delicious and big portions. We also had a smoothie and milkshake - both amazing too. The staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is really nice too. Highly recommend.

We've frequented the Curious Coffee Shop and good few times for breakfast / brunch, and have never been disappointed. We were therefore thrilled when they decided to open their doors for dinner.

I can't believe I have left it so long to visit this cafe, I will be making up for lost time. Today I enjoyed the best chili ever bar none! My daughter had the Curious Platter which was just amazing. Relaxed friendly atmosphere and brilliant place for families as plenty of room for buggy and highchairs provided. Highly recommended

A spacious place set in a small shopping area quite off the beaten track. A good range of drinks and snacks with friendly service and some atmosphere. Popular.

The staff are friendly and helpful & the dime bar brownies, banoffee milkshake and honeycomb hot chocolate were all DELICIOUS! Extra bonus for me is that it is dog friendly too! Highly recommend!

Lovely visit for brunch with my 6 month old. I had avocado on toast with Yorkshire squeaky cheese and it was very tasty, as well as using local ingredients. The coffee and brownie was top notch. The place has a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. I will be regularly returning and would highly recommend. They also run a pizza night which I'm really keen to try! A hidden gem for Haxby.

Visiting family in North Yorkshire, this place was recommended, we visited there on a Saturday afternoon, everything was first class. On my way out I purchased a few items, a mustard, onion relish and a chutney, brought these back home to Essex, they taste absolutely wonderful.

We’ve had several visits to this cafe & are never disappointed. The staff are lovely & the food is always excellent. Would particularly recommend the french toast, falafel wrap & brownies. Good facilities including baby changing & space for prams.

Regular visits to this cafe have not detracted from its appeal. Situated in the Haxby shopping centre, always met by courteous staff. Service is usually pretty quick although understandably can be a little longer at really busy times. However worth waiting for. Great food which is improving all the time, enjoyed every visit. Came in with my husband and two week old baby - our first public outing other than a midwife appointment and it was such a lovely experience! We were made to feel very welcome, breastfeeding friendly, jolly staff and delicious food! We even stayed for a slice of cake after brunch and it looked (and was) so yummy! Would definitely recommend and will return again soon!

The coffee is the best in the area! The service is always with a smile and they can never do enough. The cakes are LUSH, as is the savoury food!! I frequently go in with my 1 year old and never feel out of place with her! Lovely coffee shop

Went for brunch today, very nice! All the choices on the menu were amazing and the decor inside is lovely. Such a nice little cafe. Smoothies were very tasty too. I am gluten free and they have gluten free bread and were very cautious about making your food gluten free if you are coeliac which is great! The normal toast was huge like doorstops! Great atmosphere will definitely be back soon! Only problem is they don’t do a full English, however i think they will cater for whatever you want!!

Went here recently whilst out cycling and had coffee and cake. Was brilliantly looked after and the coffee was the best I’ve had for ages. They take real pride. Menu was varied and seemed to be doing all sorts looking around, we had homemade cake from the cabinet where they had a variety on display. Was superb!

My wife treated me to breakfast here as she's visited a few times before and really enjoyed it and it didn't disappoint.

We finally managed to get to one of their much-anticipated pizza nights last night and were not disappointed... Lovely food/wine at reasonable prices in a really nice environment... We will be back!

Looking through the café windows the interior looks comfortable but ordinary. What you don't see is the excellence of the food you are about to enjoy!! I chose a delicious bowl of homemade Beef Chilli with Crème Fraiche and Grated Cheese, with my Guest had a Hot an Ras el Hanout Beef wrap. We finished off with indulgent cakes - my was a Lime & Coconut slice. Really friendly Staff, and prices very acceptable.

Visited here on a Saturday morning to have some breakfast and a coffee and we were not disappointed. The decor is lovely and everything looked very clean. Table service is offered and the blonde lady who took our order was really friendly. Even when speaking to colleagues she seemed very happy and friendly which just makes the atmosphere even better. I had the sausage and bacon sandwich and my boyfriend had the brie croissant and both were delicious. We relaxed with some coffees which come with a few brownie pieces and were checked on to see if we needed anything else. This place is great value for money and I would definitely come back.

Well, a lovely and courteous welcome today. This cafe s usually so full we can't get a seat but we were lucky today. We enjoyed a lovely cup,of coffee with a complimentary little cake. Can highly recommend.

Visited here weekday late lunch with my mum - waited a little while to be served, very busy, as this place has a good reputation. I have visited Easingwold and loved every minute of being in the Curious Table. My mum was most pleased to see the blueberry scone with lemon curd was on the menu and ordered this straight away. I asked for a goats cheese salad to be made up - this was fine. We waited about 10 minutes for our tea, which to be honest, was lukewarm when it arrived. We drank the tea, as we were ready for lunch by then. We waited half an hour, nothing. Then 45 minutes, still nothing. The waitress said she thought our food was just about ready - it then appeared that our server had not given the order to the kitchen staff...... to say we were mortified was an understatement. I know it's not that big a deal, but we'd plan this day on a very rare day off for me and ended up with nothing. By this point, we had to leave to collect children, on an empty stomach.

We always make the effort to visit when in the area. Food is of a great standard and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The brownies are to die for - if you can’t manage one while you’re there be sure to take one away.

We often pop in here for coffee when in Haxby. Coffee, food and service consistently very good. Today we were accompanied by our dog who was also made very welcome. We really appreciate this local cafe and it’s happy and friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble for them.

Popped in for a coffee and some breakfast and it was very good. Coffee great and the bacon roll was very well cooked with condiments on the side. Was my first visit but would definitely visit again if I’m in the area.

Went here on a recommendation today and had a lovely lunch. The place was ultra friendly the service excellent and best of all the food was excellent. All the food was fresh made from a lovely choice on the menu. We will definitely be returning here.

To be honest I’m a regular in this place, a) because I love it and b) a lot of my friends request that we meet there for coffee and catch ups after I’ve taken them in once.

We have just moved into Haxby and decided to go out for breakfast this morning and discovered this fantastic, fabulous place and we love it! Amazing food and just the best customer service ever! We will be regular visitors for sure xx

We visit quite often and IMO they serve the best tasting coffee in Haxby. The food is very good too, the friendly and helpful servers make for a good experience all round.

I stop by the Curious Coffee Company most days for an amazing coffee and one of there lovely range of brownies! Highly recommended to anyone locally or visiting the York area!

I have been in a few times and it has been stunning. This time I got the goats cheese panni and it was lovely. Great price, great coffee and the staff are just very helpful too would recommend it to anyone. Keep it up guys and I will be in again soon.

My parents live in Haxby and I grew up here, so I was excited to see Haxby had a coffee shop that I thought was going to be the real deal - serving great coffee.

We've visited here for breakfast a number of times and the food and the staff have always been great.

I had lunch here today to catch up with a good friend. We were originally going to have coffee and cake, but I was quickly pursuaded to have bacon, brie and cranberry panini and a latte. The food was freshly made and delicious. The coffee was good quality (I'm particular about my coffee) and the atmosphere was buzzing. I will definitely return here again and would highly recommend.

New fang led type of coffee shop. The coffee is fine staff interact poorly with customers Bacon sandwich is swamped by the bread. Should be better.

I was there for a Pizza Trial evening. The Pizza was excellent as was the starter - mozzarella & tomato salad - and delicious dessert - vanilla ice cream & lemon sorbet. Better than any ice cream/sorbet I've ever tasted. Could eat it all again right now - mmn. Really welcoming staff, lovely interesting interior & good ambience. Will visit again soon & highly recommend.

Visited this cafe with my mother we asked for extra hot latte,s but they werent hot.Mother put up with hers,i took mine back and the lady re-made mine and it was Hot then.Toast with butter and jam was nice.Seats were nice and nice decor plus this is quite a big cafe.

Got invited to this wee place for a pizza trial night, wasn’t disappointed from start to finish, got selection of fresh starters and pizzas, they even had their famous brownies for dessert, will be back once they start their pizza nights, great job guys keep up the good work

I`ve visited three times now in the last two months - once with my aunt and twice with my mother (who is celiac). The gluten-free menu is extensive & superb ~ much care has been taken to ensure each meal was safe & suitable for mum with added extras. I think virtually everything that can be, is home made/baked ~ the chocolate brownies are to die for!! (and gluten free!!!) I love the atmosphere, their choice of music, the decor is casual & laid back and the staff are lovely, friendly & happy! (Ruth, Sue and Steve in particular) This is a truly nice place to be ~ thank you x

Recommended by a friend, we were not disappointed. In need of comfort food and boy we got it. First a bowl of fresh beef chilli on homemade chips, warming and comforting. Then coffee...proper coffee, flat white as it should be, made with their own blend from a local coffee emporium. Sue had plenty of time as she was working to chat and her enthusiasm for the coffee making process was impressive! Homemade Chocolate and Guinness cake on St Patrick's day was perfect. Such great quality didn't break the bank either! Thanks guys, we'll be back.
