Have not been here for a while so decided to give it a try.
Neither of us was impressed with our meals. Chips were very very greasy.
Fish undercooked & watery
Place was busy but mostly with drinkers
Definitely gone downhill since last visit
My mothers 95th birthday was here at the lovely restaurant- steak night snd fabulous service
It was amazing.
Amy looked after us so well we loved the attention we received and the atmosphere was perfect
Our food was well cooked and well presented
No problem bringing our own cake either and they would’ve cut it for us
However we were all full after our very good steaks
It was so lovely
Thank you kings croft
She really had a lovely time we so appreciate how you made it special
Really nice selection of traditional meals, all made with locally sourced produce. Staff were friendly and attentive without being fussy. Food was great and on par price wise with others. Would highly recommend but also suggest booking to avoid disappointment.
Only got 1 star cos there's no 0 rating. Advertised gluten free vegetarian sausage sarnie. On receiving the bread was fossilised. Not just stale it was harder than toast and uneatable.took it back to change and was told all the gluten free is the same! Ate some of the sausages cos I was starving, they were total cheap cr@p as well. Park fabulous, cafe I'll never use it again
Quick/efficient. Asked for gluten free bread, staff washed hands, changed gloves, cleaned worktop and did my sandwich alone as not to contaminate it. Shop could do with some music playing as it felt slightly awkward being very quiet. Would recommend.
When booking we asked if they could offer gluten free options. They asked “how gluten free?” Erm… gluten free is gluten free! It was explained that 2 people attending had Coeliacs Disease. We were informed at the time of booking that the fryer used for gluten free was out of action.
Upon ordering gluten free braising steak we were told it was unavailable. Second choice was a gluten free beef burger only to be told 10 minutes later that the patty wasn’t gluten free! The chicken burger was offered as an alternative. When the chicken burger arrived it looked delicious. Wrong. The chicken/bacon/cheese was tasteless and the gluten free bread tasted & smelled like pure yeast.
We thought having the gluten free chocolate orange brownie would make up for the disappointing main course. Gluten free chocolate brownies ordered. 15 minutes later we were told they were unavailable.
I won’t be recommending this restaurant on any of the local Coeliacs websites. If they can’t offer a realistic gluten free menu then they shouldn’t advertise that they can.
Not surprised this restaurant has closed. They describe their cuisine as fine dining but they obviously do not understand what fine dining is. Slow service, dreadful pizza with undercooked dough (how come they can't produce a good pizza in an Italian restaurant?), tough chicken, lukewarm vegetables. Poor choice for vegetarians.
