We didn't have food so can't comment so will give 5 stars as not to detract from their score. Thoroughly enjoyed the place, great atmosphere, lovely pub, can't wait to visit again

Always a good night in the red lion, friendly bar and door staff, prompt service. No complaints.

Lovely pub but a bit loud on a Saturday night for us old fogies. Be great if we was 50yr younger. 🤣

We just popped in for a pint. Didn't eat there. Nice atmosphere and clean.

Usually love this place but after sat night we went in for birthday night got 4 pints and asked young girl behind bat if she wanted a drink and must of bought everyone a round a 4 pts plus hers came to 35 quid. Think this was greedy of her and won't be offering again in there

Fun place for a great night out

Review edited since pub has changed hands. Much better than previous times, much better since big outdoor seating area was added and most importantly there doesn't seem to be any idiot door staff making you feel unwelcome. Would happily return to the all new Red Lion.

Lovely pub lol in another pub we was in they told us that this pub was haunted that there was a door that was allways shut cause it had hauntings but when we asked the bar man he said nah hed never seen or heard anything any way it was a very nice welcoming pub got a lovely big beer garden definetly will visit again next time we are in pontefract

When asked to facilitate and support a local fundraising event in support of Help For Heroes the massive generosity, hospitality and support from Scott, DJ Dingle, chris , Danny and the bar and door staff at the Bass House and Red Lion was excellent. Thank you for helping to improve the lives of injured veterans and their families.

Clean and tidy, large outdoor space

This place is by far the most happening place to be for great atmosphere and friendly reception. Karaoke on steroids where everyone joins in. Great night out.

Amazing venue with wonderful staff from Door the bar I felt very welcomed has a wonderful beer garden Great selection of drinks available and great music

Lovely beer garden. And gin selection. All bodes well for a drink or two, all we need is some nice weather, come on mother nature treat us .

Not great in the way of social distancing and some of the other customers were just unwelcoming. Toilets were a state and impossible to social distance, very unclean. However bar staff were great!

£3.40 for a Carling... Need I say more. Extortionate prices for a rundown place in a town where the average price for a pint is £2.50 at most. Don't waste your time and money there.

Lager was disgusting. Sent 1 back cos it was like vanilla and full of floating bits. Don't know why w go in

Pint pot in toilet apparently someone told me it had been there since Thursday full of wee in the urinal think that two star should be one.

Erm I suppose it really depends what you want out of a pub, this is definately an acquired taste xx

Fab night put on for the kids for Halloween. Free hotdogs pop and crisps. Kids dance the night away and the grown ups lol big thumbs up from me 👍👍

Jean is a class lass, bar staff are all friendly and play some wobblers now and then nice for staters.

Although I don't remember visiting this place, I know there's not a great deal of seats and the staff are so good lucking you'll want to leave out of self shame for not having a face sculpted by Zeus himself.

A lovely pub with friendly staff and fair prices. There's a pool table and a DJ. Sometimes has live music from local musicians.

Needs a landlord to get it by the balls this could be a fantastic pub.

It was New Year's Eve it was a good night the music was not too loud as well
