Lovely place, actual gem I came here on my uni break and enjoyed every moment will definitely be going again.

We've lived in Wakefield for 17 years and finally got round to visiting Prego for the first time. I don't know why it took so long, but safe to say we will be back soon. We only had a pizza each (which were excellent), but we will definitely be back to sample more of the menu. Great food and great service.

Fantastic cafe with good food, friendly staff, and a lovely exterior with seating in a nice area. Serves a range of toasties, sandwiches, breakfasts items and other cafe food along with drinks and cakes etc.

Stumbled into here whilst visiting the Rhubarb Festival and glad we did. Great to have so many veggie/pesce options. Really enjoyed our lunch and the rhubarb and cream cake was delicious 😋. We were unrushed even though the cafe was extremely busy and service was welcoming and friendly.

Pretty much standard cafe food but priced higher I guess because of location and cafe decor! Food was basic and the sausages tasted like they were veggie and not pork!

It’s a shame that the service of this restaurant lets the whole experience down as the food is delicious. It was Mother’s Day so we knew it would be busy, but the service really was not good enough and there was not enough staff to cope with all the tables. We were sat for 15 minutes without menus. We asked for menus and then had to ask again for children’s menus. After 30 minutes, we finally ordered drinks. They arrived and one of our drinks was missing so had to ask again for it. Ordered food and asked for children’s meals to come with the starters. Starts arrived and children’s meals did not. When the mains finally arrived, one of the children’s meals was wrong so it had to be made again. One of the side dishes was also missing which never arrived. One of the dishes was meant to be a pasta dish but lasagne was served instead. Ordered more drinks which didn’t turn up so had to ask again. The children’s meal eventually arrived after being in the restaurant for 1 hour 20 minutes - bearing in mind we’d initially asked for it to come with the starter. The meal eventually turned up and we attempted to order another drink, which again, never arrived. Ordered coffees and desserts which took another 20 minutes to arrive. Spoke to the manager about the mishap with food - no apology - was just told it would be taken off the bill. The food (when we eventually got it) was delicious but the service was awful which is a real shame. Unfortunately, it has really put us off from wanting to return.

Loverly staff and fantastic food, the door is around the back but easy to find once around there.

Booked the bottomless brunch for a hen party 4pm on a Saturday. Great atmosphere, staff were fantastic. DJ playing some tunes. Super quick service and endless cocktails available. Waiting staff are super attentive and your never without a drink. The food was amazing and tasty. Highly recommend and will be returning.

Absolutely DELICIOUS food. The sauce in all the dishes has fantastic consistency and the flavours are great. The chapatis are perfect, so many other places make them too thick with underdone dough. I don't visit any restaurant that charges over £1.50 for 1 single chapati. Although Bengal Palace may not look modern chic, it has a calm vibe and it definitely wins in the quality cuisine department. It also has a licensed bar. 1 of 2 best Indian restaurants in Wakefield city centre.

We’ve eaten here on many occasions and cannot fault the food or the service. BUT, tonight we were seated next to a table of four blokes who not only were loud and raucous but their language was appalling. It spoilt what should have been a very pleasant evening out. What a shame!
