we have ordered share plate for 2. it looked gorgeous , meats was juicy and very tasty. my recommendations, this is really great turkish restaurant. looking forward to come back :)

Went for lunch with my wife, were first in as had just opened, service was top notch, could see food being prepared fresh, food was lovely! Will definitely return!

Tried this place at random for dinner. It's very take it or leave it. The layout inside is terrible with some tables way too close to each other. The food was mostly decent. We had two mixed kebabs and two dips one of which sadly turned out to be awful. I've had ezme elsewhere and it was always nice, this was bitter and tasted like it started to ferment so I can only assume it had gone off. For 41 quid I would have liked not to have to listen to a huge and loud party right next to me with obviously no respect for anyone else, which was explained by the fact one of them knew one of the kitchen staff.

Delicious Turkish food and excellent service. We’ve been several times and always really enjoy it. The mixed grill, sucuk and dips are especially tasty!

I rarely do reviews but my experience was so bad and the attitude of the staff was so bad I had to air my experience. The food was poor. Dry chicken livers on a sizzling plate with no sizzle and raw onions. Said in herbs and red wine. This was extremely minimal. Mixed grill chicken was unsafe as it was blood red and the pork was undercooked. A couple of ribs were over cooked. No spoons were supplied for serving. It was very difficult to get the limited staffs attention. They chose to look down rather than offering eye contact. There tone when dealing with us was clearly one that wasn't happy I complained about the starter. When we left I said by to our waiter who was cleaning a table. He didn't even look up where the table that left before us, he held the door open for them. An experience I had not had before in a restaurant. The table next to us were celebrating a 21st. The waiter tried to get everyone in the restaurant to sing happy birthday to him stating the young man was embarrassed. Say no more. They showed a serious lack of empathy throughout.

Amazing food, very good prices and exceptional service. Been for lunch and we really enjoyed it.

Just dropped in with little time to spare before my Daughter is hopefully induced with my first grandchild! Will definitely be coming back once she is born! Excellent food & service. And VERY impressed with prices. Not been to Wakefield in many years BUT looking forward to coming back!

Just had a lovely evening with a group of 13 people. We were very well looked after, service was excellent. Food was fabulous & plentiful. Would definitely recommend. Marking down slightly as no desserts were offered.

We had a fantastic lunch there today 13/12/23 we were the only customers but the meal was relaxed and unhurried. The host was charming and friendly and the food was excellent.

Just had a lovely evening here tonight. The food was amazing so tasty and an excellent menu. We shared a hot mixed starter for four between six of us. To be honest I was full at this point. But the main meals were all delicious as well. Excellent service throughout. Thanks to all the staff for a great night.

Great food, served by really friendly staff. Lovely to be able to see the grill and watch the cooking process. We visited on a Monday night, and it was pretty quiet, but nice and relaxed atmosphere made for a top notch evening. We'll definitely visit again

We have been customers since the restaurant was opened and every time we have been it has been excellent service and excellent food, nothing is too much trouble. We are presently sat in the restaurant having had another beautifully cooked meal and feeling rather full. Our waiter Harun has been exceptionally attentive as are all the waiting staff that work here. We have even had the owner approach us asking if all is okay, which is a nice touch. Please try Icmeler and you will not be disappointed, just make sure you’re hungry when you do visit as the portions are big.

Ordered platter for 2 of hot meze , the food was OK, various range of kofta, fried calmari, hallumi, falafel and etc. Ordered tea, hoping for turkish tea but got a cup of tea with a tea bag inside, it's shame to be served a tea this way in turkish restaurant, very disappointing. Wednesday evening , the place wasn't very busy, 2or3 tables taken. The waitress interrupted me and my friend few times, asking if we finished or would like something else . We felt pressured to order more or leave, need to mention that we've been there for no more then 1 hour. Bed impression, won't be coming back.

Best Turkish food in town.Gone for a birthday and they had a candle,sang happy birthday with us..what a lovely gentleman who is in charge.Food was delicious. Some of the best dishes..Will go again..

Went Saturday evening managed to fit us in as we didn't have reservation glad they did it was beautiful! Will definitely be returning. The service from arriving to leaving was 1st class. Very friendly staff and food to die for so tasty!

The most humble of restaurants, have the most authentic food filled with flavour! Their backlava was to die for. We also had one of the waiters entertaining his diners as the restaurant wasn't busy that evening. Thank You for making us laugh, teaching some of us how to make a wrap, and for the most delicious food I've had in a long time. Would highly recommend.

Its My first visit and everything was wonderful the food was very delicious, the staff was amazing very kind and very helpful. I would definitely recommend.

We went there with my partner 2 days ago. Local is well designed, there is open kitchen as well and aromas, look and spices are amazing. Service is very quick and friendly. Place is clean. We got our drinks and food quickly. Food was amazing, we had greek salad and chicken Iskender kebab with tomato bulgur, salad, a lot of parsley and so on and so forth. It was a delicious meal with reasonable price. Two things - no alcoholic beers, and music is a bit too loud. Recomend it!

We ordered the mixed grill for 2 and the hummus. The portion is huge. The hummus and the bread were spot on. I’m not the biggest fan of the mixed grill - personally felt that all the meat were well cooked but lacked some flavour. Had high hopes for the minced meat kebab but it was just alright. Would recommend the place no doubt but I’ve had better Turkish food.

Six of us in the group, everyone enjoyed their meals. Mine was a little greasy but other than that ok. Large portions, very filling. Excellent service. Will be going back. 🙂

Lovely spot, clean and food was great

We called mid afternoon. The waiter wasn't really interested in servicing us and said that he didn't speak English or Turkish btw. We settled on a meze for two people and water. The food arrived along with house toasted bread, we both bit into it, MOULDY TASTE YUK. The waiter didn't understand the word mouldy! The meze was mostly overcooked. We left feeling sick.

What a fantastic place to eat. We went in as part of a group and was welcomed by the very friendly and helpful staff.the air conditioning was on which was great as we were in the middle of the haetwave. A member of staff seated us and gave us menus and it wasn't long before we had cold drinks out on the table.we had in our party people with different dietary requirements and this place catered for everyone without any issues. The staff were so helpful in letting us know what was in the dishes and how they came. I ordered the mixed kebab (see picture) to share between two and it was enough to feed any appetite. Everyone really enjoyed their food and service was impeccable, no delays , food was straight out with a smile.i cannot recommend this place enough for dinner with friends and family or even just a nice little dinner for two. We will definitely be returning again as we may have just found our new favourite place to eat in Wakefield.thabk you to all the staff that made our dining experience so memorable.

Me and hubby went here for dinner this evening. We enjoy authentic middle eastern cuisine with my hubby being from there. Couldnt fault the food. Beautiful quality meat, fresh, tasty and seasoned to perfection. Grilled perfectly. Beautiful authentic side salads with sumac onions! Fresh bread and freshly baked lahmacun bread (season ground lamb on serisouly thin bread) Devine! We will be back and will recommend to others!

Not really my cup of tea. Food was just OK but lamb really tasteless 6 persons of my family only one's is better, other five lamb dishes nearly same taste. What a pity!

The staff were so helpful. Not being familiar with Turkish food they gave us a plate with a mix of all the local delights. Super !!!!

Really enjoyed our lunchtime anniversary meal here. Everything was perfectly cooked (props to the chef, some kind of genius I think, absolutely everything was bang on), service was attentive not intrusive, was very surprised when our bill came to about £60 for 2 starters, main course and drinks. Talking of mains: the mixed grill on bed of wheat and rice bookended by salad was... Superb. £35 on its own which is more than two separate mains but we did *not* regret it. Music was maybe a tad loud considering we were the only people in on a lunchtime but it turns out Turkish pop is excellent background dining music so not really complaining! Oh and the wine: we had a non adventurous merlot but it turned out even that was an excellent choice! Top marks. Another win for wakeys quality restaurant strip :)

First time visiting this restaurant and both myself and the hubby were very impressed. The staff were very attentive. The food was fantastic and plentiful and the price was very reasonable. Will definitely return soon.

Our first visit, popped in on the off chance of getting a table for dinner and we will certainly go there again and recommend to family and friends. All on one level with easy access to the toilet. Really nice friendly and efficient service with a smile. A lovely atmosphere with a great choice on the menu and delicious food. Also child friendly.

Absolutely superb. The service, the food all really good very pleased. Lamb chops were an absolute delight! Great portion. Chips bread and dips (yogurt and hummus) absolutely lovely. All prepared fresh meat grilled right in front of you through the window. Will return here fir sure!

First time I have eaten here. Was taken there for fathers day. The food was excellent. We had a shared mixed grill. Plenty of meat. Cooked well and tasty with salad and other Turkish non meat items that I wasn't familiar with but all very nice. Very pleasant staff and quick service considering it was pretty full. Will definitely return. Give it a try I don't think you will be disappointed.

I had chicken skewers and half the chicken was overcooked and half was well undercooked. ( i believe this was warmed uo and not fresh)The staff was rude and tried to charge for 4 pieces of chicken squares. The bread was burnt. Would never go back there not a good restaurant at all

Wow...the food was amazing. There were 4 of us and our waiter was so helpful and very entertaining. We chose the mixed grill and it was huge. There was so much meat we ended up fetching a boxful home.

I found the man greeting you at the door very abrupt and rude, he jumped down our necks asking if we had a booking as we stepped through the door. Drinks came in pint glasses even a single vodka & lemonade! Food below average, not a great experience

Went on a Sunday tea time, the chips were like they had been fried 32 times swimming in grease, my wife’s vegetarian kebab was also greasy and we were told it had been cooked in a frying pan! Then the smoke from the grill was filling the restaurant making people rub their eyes and cough!

Had the mixed Grill. Arrived on a giant platter. All the meat was succulent and we'll prepared. The breads and dips we're also very much to my liking. Wasn't going to eat that much but when you see a bargain do you let it get away?

Wow, absolutely beautiful food, the best Turkish restaurant around by far, I’m Turkish my self and it is nice to have the real Turkish food so close without having to travel to Turkey.. I have been to many other so called Turkish restaurants but left with disappointment… I don’t usually put reviews but this one deserves the recommendation. The staff are extremely helpful and polite… Fatty boom boom ( The manager ) made our night haha such a lovely funny guy made all restaurant laugh all night. Thank you guys and keep up the hard work and good luck

Great food at this place, reasonable prices, good sized main courses. The Manager (I think he is the Manager) is rather rude and unfriendly. My wife went again the following week and had exactly the same experience. This man needs to change his attitude as there are many other restaurants that will give a warm welcome. P.s. the trst of the waiting staff were lovely!

I can only rate one star because never ate there. Booked for 8pm and queuing out the door. At least 5 parties booked for same time all waiting to be seated. Customers already seated were waiting ab hour to get food so we decided to leave and go elsewhere. Stop being greedy. Book for the people you can serve and say when you are full to capacity.

The food is so authentic, as you’d expect… and tastes fantastic. In my youth, growing up, I spent many years in Cyprus, mixing with both Greek and Turkish Cypriots. I’ve tried a fair few restaurants that claimed to have Turkish food, over the past 40 years, but never really hit the spot. In passing I found Icmeler’s restaurant… one portion of halloumi with Turkish bread, and the largest mixed grill “for one” I’ve ever seen… the charcoal grilled meats were just beautiful. Authentic aromatic smells and tastes brought back so many fond memories. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. The service was also excellent, the waiter did insist his name was “fatty bum-bum”, obviously not spelt that way but, really great host. Thank you and the kitchen staff for such a wonderful experience.

Newish authentic Turkish restaurant in the heart of Wakefield. Front of house staff are a little slow but the food more or less makes up for this small drawback. The meal was exquisite. Portions are more than sufficient. Baklava...yum yum!

I had the need to visit Wakefield on business and fancied a curry, however I walked past the door of this restaurant and the smell of the food being cooked inside directed me in like a cartoon dog sniffing dinner. Although I was on my own, I was made to feel welcome and was not rushed in any way to read the menu and order. They stock authentic Turkish beer (Efes draught) and spirits which I could see behind the bar. I had an excellent view into the working kitchen and could see everything being prepared, cooked, cleaned and tidied. Having worked in a restaurant kitchen before these guys have a system which they followed which why I would imagine they have the 5 rating on hygiene. I started with grilled liver which melted in the mouth and then a lamb kebab. Overall it all tasted delicious and I enjoyed my evening away. i’m going to be working in the area regularly from now on so will drop in again next time I’m up. Other diners who were there seemed very much to enjoy the food and ambiance too. Recommend.
