Great food and top notch service. We sat down at 8pm and a fair few people were eating, left at 9.30pm and we were the last ones in. This place should be busy all night. Reasonably priced and the quality of the food was bang on. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

This is the first time we have entered a Japanese restaurant. There was a lovely welcoming when we arrived. Food and cocktails were excellent. Will come back here again

Myself and my wy wife were on a cruise recently and one of the speciality resteraunts was sushi. We were not impressed. We know sushi can be better than that We arrived at hi sushi on an impulse outing. There we were met by Ben who is an interest colourfully character in all sense. He guided us through the menu on our likes and dislike and we made a fabulous choice for us. All the fish we tried was superb and I really mean it. It was so fresh and tasty and once you get past the raw word I would much prefer it this way. Such a delight. I thank Ben and his colleagues for his guidance and service. Will definitely be back again for a wonderful meal. Thank-you Ben.

I'm struggling to understand how this place has 4.6 stars. Our order was terrible. The fact that the restaurant was completely empty at 7pm on a Saturday evening was good sign of what was to follow. Nothing was fresh and clear made well in advance. The tempura prawns were definitely not fresh and most likely frozen meal and not prepared onside. I would have to state this should be more like a really bad takeaway and not a restaurant 😫. Maybe people in Wakefield have poor standards when it comes to food going by the positive reviews, I'm really confused. Avoid wasting your money and go to a bog standard takeaway, you will get much better food.

Second time I've been now and can't fault the food, the staff, or the mood set in the venue. The food is perfect and possibly the best on the area and the staff make you feel like you're a regular whenever you go in!

Have ordered delivery from Hi Sushi before and always been pleased with the food, but this is the first time I've actually been. Really good food and service. Don't go if you're expecting Yo Sushi prices, but then you're not getting Yo Sushi grade food. This is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for". Will be heading there again very soon.

AVOID AT ALL COST! Absolutely shocked with the customer service from the guy in skirt and pink her. I ordered 2 miso soup, hot box and beef ramen. - first miso soup came out VERY tasty, second one came out it looked a complete different different colour different taste - the beef ramen came out, the beef was raw all I could taste was blood. So I went off of my food and had to share my sisters food and complained. Came to pay … they charged the ramen full price even though I did not have any of the ramen and they had the audacity to say “it’s your taste bloods you didn’t like it” “the first miso soup was from earlier and the new was just made now” To me they either give out old left over food or they don’t know they’re recipe’s So much for customer service. Could Also be because I’m brown 🤷🏽‍♀️ this was a horrible experience WILL NOT BE GOING BACK

Left very fat and very happy. Staff were so lovely and the food came out quickly. It was really quiet when we first went in which is such a shame because the food and service were both A* - highly recommend

1st time for me and my wife going to Hi Sushi and we were both very impressed. The place is very clean with good decor, staff are very welcoming and the food was excellent. We will definitely be returning.

First time visiting this little gem and was seriously blown away! The best sushi I have ever had! The espresso martini was also one of the best I’ve tried. The staff were on top form, so friendly and accommodating. We felt completely welcomed and we absolutely will be back. Recommend to any sushi lovers!

Ordered a gluten free delivery, I had a call half way through asking about allergens and they made us a special sweet potato sauce in placement of teriyaki. Really good service and delicious food. Just moved into the area and I will be a regular of this place. Never been to a restaurant that cares so much about allergens and still produces high quality food 5/5 from me

My family and I shared a lovely meal together here. We all have specific dietary requirements (I'm vegan and my Dad's celiac etc), and the staff were very accommodating and good humoured. They went above and beyond to meet all of our needs, including checking fryers and providing gluten-free soy sauce. Wonderful food and fantastic service, we'll be back.

Food was great. The unagi (eel) don buri was absolutely delicious. Would very much recommend. The various sushi offerings were also great.

It's a very beautiful restaurant for sushi lovers...I was amazed by the decor and it gives you a nice vibe. I ordered seafood ramen, salmon sushi platter, gyoza , vanilla mochi ice cream and a Japanese drink. Ramen and mochi ice cream both were very yummy but the sushi and gyoza were average taste. The service was good. What I didn't like is the 2.5% extra service charge. Even though the food was pretty much expensive this extra service charge was not expected on top of it..But overall good experience.

Wonderful Japanese restaurant and the food is amazing! Highly recommend! Several friends had recommended Hi Sushi, and I've been here twice now and both times were brilliant. The food is so good - between me and my companions, we had various sushi, a bento box, and several dishes with thinly sliced beef and rice (e.g. don buri), and a chicken wing starter, and everyone loved their food. The only thing to note is that some of the dishes are on the smaller side, but since the prices are very reasonable, if you are a big eater then it's no problem to add a few extra sushi or starters :) We can also recommend the mochi ice cream and doriyaki pancake desserts. And the sake is delicious and can be served warm. The service is always great and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. The food came out in a reasonable time and everything was well presented, especially the sushi! You can book a table online and the interface was nice and easy to use. The resturant itself has nice decor and a fish tank with happy looking fish :) Overall, highly recommended and I can't wait to go back!

We came in late in the evening (9PM). Ben our waiter was a fantastic host despite the lateness. Just the right level of interactive, attentive and friendly. He was a pleasure to be served by. The food was fantastic. Delicious and wonderfully presented with an excellent variety on the menu. We had a set meal for 4 between 3 and left very stuffed. I would happily come back again and fully intend to.

Real Japanese food in Wakefield! Superb food at a very reasonable price. Well presented on the plate, fast service, great staff. Lots of choice on the menu for all tastes. Highly recommended and will call again.

Ordered over the phone and then picked up. Car park across the road was perfect place to park up. Food was pretty much ready when I got there. Toilets clean. Food bags were separated in two: hot & cold. Due to the amount we ordered it might have been worth spreading the load because as soon as I left the bag split! Food quality fresh and tasty, will defo be back. Recommend anyone to check out the fish tank!

Visited Hi sushi for my daughters birthday. Didn't think it was really my thing but wow I was wrong. The food was amazing especially the noodles. I'll definitely be back. Fab service also. 100% recommend.

Just had a great meal at Hi Sushi - really was five star. Excellent food - had Gyoza starters and bento boxes. Friendly waiter, great food and quick service - what's not to like. Will definitely be going again.

Expensive for a takeaway but worth it

I ordered food on Uber Eats and they didn't give chop sticks. I wrote in the order to give it, they said their chefs can't speak English so couldn't read the order properly. They said I need to walk to the restaurant to pick them up myself. Unbelievable

The worst food I ever had . I order food from them . I try to call and tell they forget to put my items and they reply whit rude attitude “ we forgot to put the desert “I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. ! Worst stuff whit!

30£ for a platter were very little sushi, for that price i would expext much more. Sushi rice if it was sushi, were not sticked well. Its delicious, feels natural, but still there are much better somewhere in UK! Hopefully. Goodluck with improving specially price=amount of food.

Really enjoyable meal with great selection of drinks and food. Service was brilliant. Marked as 4* on account of being given something we didn't order, which was taken away but still added to our bill but removed when we pointed it out. On the whole though, looking forward to going back and absolutely recommend it to others.

1st time ordering at Hi Sushi, went in and ordered for takeaway. Owner was lovely and very helpful, however the barman in the white shirt was rude. Asked if there was wasabi, ginger and soya sauce in the bag he said yes there would be. We asked if we could have extra as we had ordered a few items he then said we should have asked for more before be sealed the bag. Straight out rude, it just spoils the whole experience.

Food is amazing, but EVERY. SINGLE. TIME either myself or my partner has had to call back to ask for our missing items, do you not have someone to double-check the order being sent out before handoff? This is the third time we have ordered and had to call back to ask for the rest of our stuff.

Took our money, website accepted the order (also checked the delivery radius to be sure), then called to say we were too far away. Thanks for leaving us out of pocket for 3-5 days while we wait for our refund. Update: still no refund 9 days later… Starting to think this is a clever money grabbing move.

Just ordered 2 Katsu Curry's and a Chefs platter. Sharing with my brother who has never had Japanese food and he loved it! Wasabi and sushi was fresh and katsu was outstanding! Will be coming again :)

This place has pretty good tasting food but my all veggie sushi and a portion of gyōza cost £35, took 90 MINUTES to arrive on a Wednesday (so not like I expected it quickly on a weekend or anything like that). It wasn't even enough for 2 people and the portion sizes are very small, e.g. 2 inari (each bite sized) is one portion and it costs £2.90 each. Very disappointed and probably won't return which is a shame as I love Japanese food and local eateries.
