Definitely the best chip shop locally. The lady behind the counter is friendly and chatty, and didn't mind too much when I accidentally threw salt all over her. (Sorry!!!) They always give plenty of chips, the fish is really fresh and the scallops are lush too. Friendly atmosphere, busy, but you never queue for long, and reasonably priced.

Called here for fish & chips, recommended by a friend who told me that these were the best fish & chips he had tried. He was right. The best that I have had. Along with the friendly staff and chatty fryer I would highly recommend. Don't take my word try them yourself.

Well been tonight for the first time, all I can say, go and try yourselves, fish and chips absolutely lovely. Real nice white meaty fish, chips lovely too. I will be back that is for sure.

Lovely fish and chips but a bit on the pricey side compared to other local fish and chip shops, will still go back through.

Great chip shop, food cooked well. However alongside my food I was given a side of gammon which I found difficult to swallow. Won't be going back I'm afraid.

Under new management and you can actually taste the positive difference. Changes are being made and the menu is slowly changing. Our food was hot, fresh and plentiful. We will definitely return.

Was ok. Little greasy and the fish was on the small side. But it wasn't bad at all.

Really good shop with all the usual stuff. You get enough chips but the fish could be a bit bigger. Still worth going to and friendly staff.

Good quality fish and chips, prices are excellent. The only reason giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because they never have any fish ready. They ask you when you enter or are in a queue and then you have to wait.

Would leave 0 if that was an option. NOT hygenic at all. Absolutely awful when they are handling cash and then food without washing hands or using gloves wiping their faces etc. So disappointed

Best chippy in Stanley and lovely staff. Always chatty and have been extremely helpful. I’m quite particular with my chippies, I’ve eaten in a few, not only is this the best in Stanley, but it’s one of the best in the North.

Hygiene could be better (handling chips, answering the phone, handling chips... No hand washing in-between), but otherwise a decent chippy. Staff could be more welcoming, but nothing unusual for the industry

Having worked at a famous Whitby fish and chip restaurant, I am quite choosy when it comes to eating them. This place came recommended on Facebook so thought I'd try it. Not disappointed. Very nice fish, especially for the price. BUT, try the parsley cake. It's the best I have ever had. Five stars from me!
