Absolutely beautiful just like it always is !!

Absolutely DELICIOUS food. The sauce in all the dishes has fantastic consistency and the flavours are great. The chapatis are perfect, so many other places make them too thick with underdone dough. I don't visit any restaurant that charges over £1.50 for 1 single chapati. Although Bengal Palace may not look modern chic, it has a calm vibe and it definitely wins in the quality cuisine department. It also has a licensed bar. 1 of 2 best Indian restaurants in Wakefield city centre.

We ordered 2 different dishes and they were terrible. The sauce on one was bitter whilst the chicken was chewy and weird. The breads were lovely however. No idea why/how the rating was so high but won’t be ordering from here again

There’s nothing sadder than bad Indian food :( mango lassi was fire, papads were great, but man all my mains were so very disappointing. The okra was very large & hard, just generally bad quality. And considering it was an ingredient in basically all my dishes that really was tragic. Spice wise it was very mild, despite asking for Indian spicy.

food arrived hot and the taste was bob on. only gripe was the lamb chops were overcooked and a bit dry. I lathered them in mango chutney to eat them. Will deffo order again

The best curry in Wakefield. The Lamb Balti was the best I have ever tasted.

Food was really good as usual, unfortunately our portion of chips was forgot and not in the bag.

Don't usually review anywhere unless it is really special. Ordered the chicken tikka balti with boiled rice, extra chicken tikka and two glass bottles of coke. Nearly 30 pounds and what arrived was probably the worst and most tasteless indian ive ever had. Might as well have been water with bits of tastless chicken in it. Definitely wont be ordering from here again.

Very nice! I like the madras, personally; hot enough, but not so hot it burns your mouth within 5 seconds and makes it inedible.

I have never in my life had such a bad Indian food, I specifically mentioned i need tood spicy but it hardly had any salt. The karahi chicken was sweet the prawn chicken tasted raw. The biryani was like boiled rice. The naam was in a poly bag and on the top on it I got the food in a cloth softener Comfort box. I never give bad reviews but the food was just so bad. Apologies to the chef but they need to start making food which is Indian food instead of serving garbage.

Really enjoyed the food, the only feedback would be that we like our curries a bit spicer, so if you like it hot ask for it extra spicy, we would definitely order again, meat was very nicely cooked and portions were good. Thank you

Nothing amazing really, starter was good but curry was bland the chicken had a very strange texture, some pieces where nice but some were really rubbery. I think the rice was reheated microwave rice too.

The chicken tikka Hyderabadi is the best thing ive tasted in my life. Always been a fan of korma/butter chicken but this is now the favourite. Top quality food. Gonna be hitting that re-order button soon

Don't believe the menu prices. There are some small posters in inaccessible places stating that the menu prices are wrong and you will be charged more than the stated prices. So if you don't want to be ripped off by these grifters, make sure to ask the waiters for the actual prices, rather than the published prices.

Always excellent, can’t fault the food or delivery - the only place we buy from !

I have ordered from here numerous times however the quality of the food lastnight was very poor. The lamb was chewy and had a lot of grissle, the potatoes were hard in the spinach dish and the starters were extremely dry. The whole meal was very dissapointing and tasted like it was food which had been previously made and just reheated.

Really good food. Friendly staff. We're eating here often. The only issue for me .....toilets. Need good clean, at least.

Order came quicker than expected, nice and warm and not greasy which is a plus for a takeaway will order again!

We always have a warm welcome here and the food is always exceptional. The mixed starter is a full meal in itself and very enjoyable.

The food is amazing and the people who work here are always welcoming and friendly.

Friendly staff, large resteraunt with plenty of spaced out tables. Poppadoms with a jug or yoghurt mint and a selection of onions, sweet chilli sauce and mango chutney. We then had the sharing starter for 2 which we heard before we saw as it came sizzling to our table. And some onion bhajis, which were some of the best we have had. Of course I had to have the draft, Cobra Lagar to wash it all down with. As we were off to a gig over at Venue 23 over the road, we didn't have time for mains but what we had was more than enough, and the next time we're at a concert we will be back at the Bengal for a curry.

Two Different dishes ordered by my wife and myself tonight.. and superb as always, we really look forwards to our Friday night treat from Bengal Palace.

One of only three Indian restaurants I will use in Wakefield The food and service has always been bang on. These guys are my go to. A++××

Great as always, no where else to go

In my opinion, this is the only curry house in Wakefield worth eating in. The food is proper! It's always excellent tasting and the prices are great. The family have been serving great curries in Wakefield for knocking on 40 years. Other fur-coat-and-no-knickers outfits have been and gone. Long may they continue to do so.

Been going here since the mid 90s, and they still have most of the same staff working there. Went again on New Year's eve, and although they were busy, the food came out pretty quickly and of good quality as always. Our go to for a curry in the Wakefield area.

I was a little disappointed tonight because the medium balti I had ordered was hotter than usual which spoiled it for me as I couldn’t eat my portion. My husband was fine with it, so he finished my half off. Having said that though, we order from here every time we fancy Indian takeaway and it’s always lovely.

When I lived in WF1 this was my staple take away. 5th order in 5 weeks in WF4 with delivery and it’s as good as it always was... In new year will be taking a break but I am going to be moving back to WF1 so will be good to have these on my doorstep again. There has been a single issue but that was with the delivery contractor and not the restaurant or the food. However, this single issue proved that they care. They got a replacement meal to me with super speed with their own transport. 10/10

My order never arrived. I ordered late in the evening and thought they might cancel the order but they accepted it. Got to 23:00 and the app said it had been delivered, it hadn’t, tried calling the restaurant however it was closed at this point. Waited 20 minutes, still no arrival. I had to order another takeaway, still got charged for this one though. Tried to call them back the day after to explain the order hadn’t arrive, they denied it, were rude and said it “definitely” had arrived - this wasn’t the case. My family has ordered with them many times before, I’ve eaten in the restaurant twice and recommended the place to others. We know one of the people who work there (Sid) and this has never happened, so I thought I’d try to explain this and just to let them know about what had happened with the order rather than outright complain however they did not accept this at all and had nothing to say in apology but instead just denied what I’d said and were rude about it. I’ve contacted Just Eat to let them know. I would like a refund or at least for on a phone call like that for them to validate one poor experience out of many good ones - I cannot believe they outright denied what I’d said without asking any questions.

Went for my birthday last week beautiful Indian onion bhagis are fantastic best I've had and the sauce going to try and go once a month love the place.

Great food great service friendly staff nothing too much trouble would highly recommend.

Use this Restaurant often for Takeaway, but we decided to have a bit of a family get together actually at the Restaurant as we hadnt visited for a few years now, we certainly weren't disappointed..we all enjoyed the food and the service we received. A great place we won't leave it so long next time.

My husband and I and our friends go regularly to Bengal Palace. We love it. I always have a mild, fruity curry that is delicious.

One of curries was very very watery, all the order was luke warm at best, and the onion bhaji was just a ball of greasy oil. Was told by a friend to order from here but deffo won't be ordering again. Feel very disappointed and hungry still. Hopefully it was just a bad day and not their usual standard 😑

Paid an extra £2.00 for a lamb dish but received chicken. Requested a mild chicken tikka masala which tasted of nothing but sugar. Everything was just bland. Prices on just eat are more expensive than direct from the restaurant. Waste of money will not be ordering again. This place used to be nice but it has gone down hill.

Fantastic food as always Benghal Palace. My only complaint was the delivery charge we booked through Just Eat) I checked on google maps and from Benghal Palace to our house it's a 5 minute drive, but we charged £5:50, surely this can't be right?

The 'set meal for two' (or four) is great value and great quality, and is available 7 days a week. Staff are very friendly.
