The best restaurants in Scarborough Yorkshire and The Humber

I was struggling to find somewhere for my Daughters 16th birthday, a lot of places don't hold events for young teens but Xanders came to the rescue. Not only do they offer the full space for private parties they provide the entertainment, (games, mocktail classes, quizzes etc) they provide snacks or buffets which we were all really impressed with, the food wasn't the cheapest they could find to save costs it was fresh fruit and other delicious treats, such a wonderful spread! The staff are super friendly, fun and very helpful. I had even forgotten the cake candles but they found some to save a run to the shop! Absolutely fantastic evening, adults and the kids all had fun, we learnt a lot about making mocktails and just really enjoyed ourselves! The party didn't break the bank either, brilliant prices for all you get. 100% recommend, for everyone!

Fresh food produced by them, own cheese etc. Excellent standard. Spacious, pleasant surroundings. Good portions and prices.

Went here on a whim and so glad we did! The food was so nice and such generous portions to the point we had to take the rest to go. Staff were very friendly and attentive, would say it’s one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to and will definitely be coming back.

Fabulous quality of food with wonderful sea views. Onion bhaji burger & scampi excellent, & fish’n’chips of Magpie Cafe standard.

Some of the best food i have ever eaten, the lamb and aubergine i had were cooked to perfection, the starters were all marvellous, and all the service was incredible. I would recommend to anybody looking for somewhere to eat in Scarborough. Perfect restaurant

Stumbled upon this place on a Sunday noon and we enjoyed a very warm welcome, they could still offer us a place in the beer garden, inside was fully booked. The food (Sunday roast of course) was magnificent, nice atmosphere, prices were good, service impeccable. Recommend this place!

Good value and excellent meals and snacks

The summer of 1976,brilliant pub we met a couple from Scotland, Archie and Brenda, they were staying in the pub Archie played the drums. Returned 2 years later and bumped into them again, hence saying we had 2 brilliant holidays and spent most of our time in the Ship, it looks as if it's still going well, A lot older now but we're going to drop in again soon.🙂

The Frigate is very nice and has a great range of cider

Una cafetería absolutamente fabulosa, tiene una gran selección de menús, las patatas fritas son para morirse, y la ensalada de col casera es una gran ventaja añadida! personal tan amable, lo recomendaría encarecidamente, han sido numerosas veces y la comida siempre perfecta, desafiantemente será de nuevo.

Outstanding quality food with sea views from the restaurant's cliff top position. It was a shame that there were only 4 diners this evening and service was slow. The food was exceptional in both quality and value for money. I'd recommend the Yorkshire chicken and apple crumble cheesecake.

A must visit place for Ice-creams out of this world. Attentive staff. I love their food, my favourite is their ham sandwich. Toasted T cakes are top notch. I highly recommend the Harbour Bar.

I'm writing this review so that people understand there is not a cafe or pub tea/beer garden here. It's an open area with a few tables & brollies over and a small covered area for rescue from the elements, & snacks only are served from the stalls. The options are limited, but the food is lovely, though not inexpensive. There's a little kids play area & the waterfall is nearby the house. Public toilets are 2 small wooden shacks with no windows in the gaps, but they are spotless. T.paper, soap, sanitiser is all provided at the little sink in the middle. It's a stunning stunning area at the bottom of a steep bank & there are various forestry walk options nearby. On the day it turned really cold and poured down, so several people were caught out. There are places which wont be easy for those with mobility issues. Keep tight hold of your dogs & children as the walkway is not fenced in & theres a heck of a drop ... its a fab and au naturelle adventure ramble through the woods. Just be prepared more than we were. We thought we could go for a nice walk and then have a nice lunch after, but no that's not the case. Parking is also very limited. It was really busy early on. A few ignoramouses even parked in the passing places, selfish idiots as usual . But in nice weather it would be a proper little sun trap & there is loads of wildlife and birds to spot. the lucky owners of the house there are in a very secluded spot in a beautiful area and have almost become fruitful forest guardians.

well we found rusty by a lucky chance we'll what can I say the staff are very friendly the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is so warm and .it's a qurkey place and the court yard is very inviting to sit in and dog friendly too.
