A great outdoor hideaway place, for walkers, visitors to area. Wonderful/safe view of Falling Foss. We called on our way home from Whitby. Didn't get chance to do a walk but will next time! Space for little ones to have a run around, few play items. Delicious snacks, cakes etc. and great coffee. Delighted that a chaffinch came near to our table looking for crumbs to eat?!

Lovely family run cafe in a fantastic location. Short stroll downhill from the car park which is free !! Sat in the sun on both occasions this week and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. Family and staff all friendly and professional. Great value for money 10/10 !!! Sadly docked one point as first visit was exceptional food , faultless ... photo 2 roll.. Second visit sadly the same roll was a slight let down... photo 1 roll.. Will be back to try something new.. :)

Went to Falling Foss today. Easy parking but a steep walk down to the tea garden. When we got there though, it was well worth it. Pretty waterfall and lovely outdoor garden area with great range of delicious food and drinks. The scone was lovely and my partner enjoyed his food too. Sweet little birds flitting about by the tables, I could have stayed for ages. We walked up by the river but didn't go as far as MayBeck today but we will definitely return

We parked in village hall carpark and walked through the woodland to the falls and tea garden. About a mile and a half, quite muddy (need boots), uphill with lots of steps but very pretty. Tea garden was amazing, three of us had scones which were delicious, my husband had a BLT which was declared the best ever, really well filled roll. Toilet facilities were beautifully clean and well serviced. We then walked back to the cars. Fabulous day out for our wedding anniversary. Thank you so much.

Sensible footwear strongly advised, be aware, their is a quite steep walk down to the cafe & falls view point from the medium sized car park.Access to the bottom of the falls is possible but not sign posted as it’s unofficial I believe.. adult supervision of children is a must !! Absolutely beautiful quaint location, beautiful tea garden, serving cream tea, sandwiches and hot food, the nachos were amazing, good toilet facilities The enitre place is very hilly, quite a slope down from car park to tea garden and definitely a steep climb back up to car park Came here once before and it was all closed, so check opening times before coming, think it's seasonal so April - September However even if tea room is closed you can still walk the beautiful trails that are around the location Although on my first visit here (when it was closed) we were unable to locate the waterfall, had some lovely walks but could only see waterfall from the top Second visit here (in season) there was a small note on the tea room shed explaining the bottom of the waterfall wasn't on a direct footpath and they recommend against trying to get there Well it had been my mission for so long so we started the walk down, this is quite a long walk and at some points on quite a small footpath only wide enough for one person so if taking children i wouldn't let them go running of ahead! The walk down is quite steep but there is a clear footpath heading down Once down you see the river to your left, you need to cross the river and carry on upstream, however it really isn't on a footpath and you do need to cross stream a few times to be able to get to the bottom of the waterfall so I recommend wearing sensible, waterproof shoes! Although the route isn't on a footpath i wouldn't say it was overly difficult as long as your prepared to do a bit of climbing and ducking and crossing stream you'll get to the bottom, the walk back up is harder! But it is worth it
