The best restaurants in Ramshill Scarborough Yorkshire and The Humber

I have visited Miller's twice since my initial review and sorry to say that whilst I really hoped I could upgrade my four star review to five stars, I'm afraid a downgrade is in order. On the first of my last two visits, happy to say that the portion size of the chips had increased significantly and they were excellent quality. The fish was just as good too, but it's downhill from there though! The counter assistant seemed more interested in chatting to colleagues and looking at her phone than in serving me. She invited me to add my own salt and vinegar, which was fine, but then wandered off to chat with her colleagues again, rather than wait and finish packing the box after I'd added condiments, which was not fine. No 'thank you very much' and no 'goodbye' either, which is simply ignorant. The floor was dirty, the counter-top was greasy and grubby and the condiments tray was full of spills and food debris, but obviously chit-chat takes precedence over keeping the place clean! On my most recent visit, although it was cleaner, I got the same treatment from the counter assistant, although I'm not sure it was the same person as before. The chips portion size was still good, but they were overcooked and the batter on the fish was indifferent, whereas before it had been excellent. There's plenty of competition for fish and chips in Scarborough and if outlets don't stay on top of their game, they'll quickly fall out of favour. I'll give them one more try, but if standards continue to slip, it'll be my last.

Highly recommend this place! Not only was the service excellent but the food was 10/10….food was made fresh and portion size was great. Will definitely be coming back soon. Ordered the mixed kebab and it was delicious :)

The hotel was inexpensive and we took our dog so you cannot expect a five star establishment. The breakfast was very good and the staff were pleasant. I have to say that the room could have been updated and there was only one plug socket and that was taken up by the kettle. All in all it was a pleasant stay as we very much like the south side of Scarborough.If you are looking to take your pet and not wishing to break the bank then this is the place for you.

Haven't been here since my uni days, but it's just as cosy as I remember. Snake oil on tap, and good pub Sunday food.

Why do you advertise barista coffee then serve it out of a pushbutton machine?? A waterery warm apology for a cappuccino! Disappointing to say the least

If you want fine dining you should go elsewhere. The menu was okay but more like pub grub in a restaurant setting. Would we eat there again. Probably if it’s pouring with rain and we couldn’t eat elsewhere.

Alway great pizza , hot and plenty

Excellent takeaway while staying in Scarborough. Quick delivery service with lovely driver, nice and hot food, tasty too, good price. Would highly recommend.

I don’tknow if this place is any good. After 15 minutes waiting at the bar, only 1 person got served - by the 2 staff. The 1 ‘serving’ then left 6 of us waiting and went outside to wipe down tables. Rude, surly, we up and left.

We visited twice during 1 week because it was so nice. 1st visit was lunch - mushroom cheese melt and a bacon sandwich and tea & coffee. The food was gorgeous and not a long wait. 2nd visit was full breakfast (veggie for one) and tea and coffee. Both times the food & drinks were very nice and piping hot. Lots of content in the breakfast and quality ingredients. Set above cooplands, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Just ordered threw uber eat my order is wrong asked for garlic crust it's just original crust and my ice cream is the wrong one and wedges were cold inside 😔

I went for lunch with my son and baby granddaughter on Monday 23 October. The food was good Scampi & chips and Fish & Chips. Most impressive though was the welcome and service. A high chair was quickly brought out and we were offered a lovely table in front of the fire which was especially welcome as it was a cold damp day. Thank you to Julie,Michelle and Josh. We will be returning.

We had a fabulous dinner at the Scarborough Arms on a busy Saturday evening (reservation essential). We skipped starters and had the salmon (a special for the night), BBQ ribs and sirloin steak. Throughout the evening, Derek and his team took great care of us. The food was superb, accompanied by good wines (Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec) & a draught Moretti. Thanks to everyone for making us so welcome whilst staying in the town. Highly recommended.

ok if you want quiet and like watching golf on tv.entertainment only on a friday.£4.40 for pint of lager which is about the same as everywhere else in the area.no food served here which is a shame as plenty of room and tables but not overly so, but only the standard crisps, nuts.spacious pub with pool table but younger ones tend to be using it.average pub nothing too bad but then again,nothing too great about it.
