Flames in Scarborough

Highly recommend this place! Not only was the service excellent but the food was 10/10….food was made fresh and portion size was great. Will definitely be coming back soon. Ordered the mixed kebab and it was delicious :)

Two good pizza takeaways in town and flames is one of them, there's a shop on the other side of the road so usually buying beer whilst it's cooking, Atmosphere hmm not sure

Ordered a couple of Burgers and Chips to pick-up, it was ready when I arrived. Good service, decent price, and the food was good.

decided to purchase food from this takeaway as no local pubs near here serve food.food absolutely 5 star.waited 10/15 mins but was definately worth the wait.hot,tasty and plentiful.nice staff here.it sells kebabs and pizzas mainly ,all reasonably priced.ordered kebab with donner and chicken,salad and pitta bread included and donner,chicken and chips which also came with pitta and salad.decent salad (as not just your usual limp lettuce and tomato.)also came with 2x chilli sauce and 2x garlic mayo sauce in those little tubs.highly recommended.paid under£20 worth every penny.

Been a long time since I've been in glad they still do the garlic butter pizzas which are great .

Still the best in Scarborough since I first went 30+ years ago. I am suspicious of some of the 1 star reviews. They are either the sad people who have one minor issue and put 1 star or are the people that prefer cheap crap over quality. So the kebab meat is not the usual elephants leg, the slices and seasoning and meat is just like an authentic Turkish kebab. The burgers are great and think still from a local farm, flame grilled taste! Pizza have superb ingredients with their garlic sausage being the best. I moved to Leeds from S’boro 28 years ago but still come through once a month and my whole family and friends who join us from Leeds say the same, Flames is the best. We always have a laugh with the staff and to boot the prices are very, very reasonable. It’s just a must with 3 good pubs close by, Cask, Ramshill, Highlander and a bar call Marleys… darts in everyone with pool in Rammy.

Best pizza I’ve had in a long time. The garlic mayo was especially good, way better than Dominos. We will definitely come back next time we’re in Scarborough.

This is an average take away, the food is decent but nothing special. The service is excellent and it’s good value for money.

Pretty bland doner, salad and chips fine , all presented well in tray , Gentleman serving was friendly and helpful and all seemed very hygienic. Doner meat was just tasteless unfortunately.

It's Unbelievably good, great amount of toppings the kebab meat was real fresh. Also reasonably priced,very nice staff.

Food very greasey and staff not polite they said you get what you pay for wouldn't visit again or reccomened to friends or family

Flames has consistently been the best pizza place in Yorkshire for over 20 years. Great pizzas and great value. Went in December and they have really cut back on the quality of the ingredients they use with virtually no cheese or pepperoni on it. I'm going back up in February and I'm hoping it was just a one off. It would be such a shame if they have spoilt something so great for a few pence... I would gladly pay more, just go back to how it use to be PLEASE

Really enjoyed our take away. We enjoyed our pepperoni and bbq chicken pizzas, garlic bread and kebab meat with chips. Friendly staff

Love this place best pizzas reasonably priced all cooked fresh.

First came here over 25 years ago and they were the nicest pizzas we'd ever had. Came ever year until we gave up the caravan. Came twice in one weekend last year and again this and the STILL are the nicest pizzas I've ever had! Why would anyone go to a 'chain' pizza shop when this fabulous independent is in the town? Be back next year during next year s Scarborough jazz festival.

Pizza was awful, just ingredients laid on top of base with no thought

I am from Scarborough and this pizza takeaway has been around since I was a child. The best pizza in Scarborough. Don’t shop around Flames is the place. Delicious fresh baked pizza full of delicious toppings. These guys don’t deliver because they don’t need to. Plus they want you to pick you pizza up fresh and delicious not sat around with a delivery car going cold.

Sorry to say the pizza was very average quite dry with loads of small pieces of garlic on it ( like out of a tube) chunky chips were nice. Will try somewhere else next time.

Always enjoy the pizzas from Flames, the burgers are pretty good too. I’m not a fan of doner meat generally but I quite like Flames’ doner, so that says as lot! Staff are friendly too. Very happy to have this as my local take away.

A great burger as always. Cooked fresh, with the lovely flame grilled taste. Even added some jalapeños at my request. Still recommended 😋

Asked for no tomato due to friends allergies, came home, she bit into it and hey ho, she swelled up, horrible! (They had given the whole pizza a tomato base!) Disrespectful of allergies and plain right ignorant! Wont be coming here again or in the future, be sure to tell others the same thing!

Just down the road from Pizza Hut and far superior Flame is not only authentic and friendly but makes dam fine pizza. Only accepting cash when this is posted there is a cash point 80 meters up the road and on the other side. Best take away pizza I have eaten in an age.

Feel like it’s only a decent takeaway if you order when it’s not busy, every time I have gone my order has been wrong/things missing, pizzas burnt. Ordered yesterday and asked for no garlic on my pizza, came smothered in garlic and burnt. Also think £32 for 2 pizzas a burger and garlic bread is very overpriced.

Fantastic takeaway always hot and loads of it. You can ring and order and they are always ready when you get there.

These guys have made a million pizzas. As a veggie I used to always come here* I've been vegan now for nearly 3 years & started making my own pizzas. But last week took vegan mozzerella (Morrison's) & vegan parmesan (Lidl), they made me a pizza with these on &, my! It was delightful! Time to but in that vegan cheese guys! 💚💛🍕

Tonight 2nd June I ordered tomato garlic bread flames special and Donner calzone pizza Not been here for a long time thought I'd give ago well I was so disappointed garlic bread burnt and wen bit it all black bits special burnt pepperoni and over loaded with onions to cover all dry bits up can't say much about calzone as it was my son but dough very dry he said . It cost me £18.90 Unfortunately we won't be back .it was such a waste

The staff are ignorant I live local and wanted a portion of meat for a two year old not a full kebab and was spoke to like get our full kebab or nothing lucky I didn't react for his sake terrible customer service

Hand made pizza base. Prepared in front of you. Looked really clean and staff were very polite. Glad I chose this place it was by far the best pizza iv had in a long time. They come in size 11inch which I shared with my daughter.

Genuinely the best doner kebab I've ever had. The same can be said for their burgers! Pizzas aren't bad either. I like that you can have garlic butter added to pizzas too. The only drawback is there's no delivery but it's always worth the drive to collect. Keep up the good work guys 👍

My friend said he knew of this place as we drove over for a day out from Leeds. I looked at the menu, and decided right away that it had to be the donner calzone. Now, I had all that journey and a few pit stops to build up enough expectation to guarantee disappointment, but no. This thing was magnificent. I am writing this review in its warm afterglow. I may never be so happy again for the rest of my days. Do it.

The worst pizza and burger ive ever had we couldn't eat it..i have put the pizza hut beef and onion pizza picture on to compare we were stunned at how awful the pizza was!

Best doner kebab in Scarborough.

Been visiting this place since we stumbled on it in 2010. While the pictures of Tom Jones and Cilla Black have long gone the food is still fantastic. Fresh bases made in front of you enough topping to feed the largest of appetites.

I was in Scarborough for one night through work. Just happened to see Flames as I was passing. Decided to get something to eat. Now I'm a big fan of chilli burgers and garlic bread, so thats what I ordered. Best I've had in years. I really hope to be back soon.
