iKitchen Chinese restaurant in Scarborough

First time trying this takeaway as our regular was closed for Chinese New year. Will not return. Food was cold. Beef was slimy. Duck was not crispy and tasted of very strong cinnamon. Told 20 minutes. Waited nearly 40.

Staff are amazing here welcoming and friendly very down to earth, food portions are generous, always ready to collect quickly although they do offer delivery service I just haven't used that as yet , food is delicious and cooked perfectly , highly recommended

Hands down the best Chinese Takeaway in Scarborough! Tried other places but by far this is the best (personal opinion). Never had a bad meal. Hot and Sour Soup is the bomb and their curry sauce is next level! Food is always piping hot and lovely staff!

OUTSTANDING food! Best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had! Very fast friendly delivery- crispy salt and chili squid is incredible. Also all the ginger and spring onion dishes. Noodles and the garlic chili prawns are out of this world. BRILLIANT

Food was ok. My satay was very salty. Ribs were good. Crispy duck was more like a power. Might have just got an off day, I would try again.

walked 2 mile for restaurant experience. NO only takeaway for the last 3 year, had plent space to order takeaway and eat inside but NO. Lady pleasant enough recommend somewhere 2 mile away.

Excellent. They said delivery would be 45 minutes and it arrived in 20 minutes, hot and freshly cooked. Very tasty food 😋

Anglicised chinese food from the 1970s. Red colouring and far too sweet for me. Might have just made poor choices from the menu. Disappointing.

Very good takeaway...I've just had special fried rice with some side dishes. Didn't take long to be delivered and it was very tasty and food was hot .

Not a good experience at all with this one. Ordered noodle box and got a dish so sweet it almost gave me a sugar rush. My wife and one of my son's ordered salt and chilli chicken with chips and what they received was borderline inedible. Over cooked chicken that was hard work to chew, and then there was the chip's. Where to even begin with the chip's..... I'm not honestly sure I could replicate them if I tried for a week. It was as if they were leftover from yesterday and then reheated with a hair dryer.

Amazing Chinese. Every thing is so full of flavour. English lady on the phone is very nice, and so are the rest of the staff. Would 100% recommend. Delivery drivers are lovely too

Arrived in the UK from Australia at the start of a lockdown. iKitchen Menus were everywhere in my AirBNB so I gave them a try and iKitchen gladly delivered safely to my door. Hot and delicious (all through winter.) I have since bought a house and iKitchen catered for our first 6 person socialising outdoors. The food is excellent every time we order. (which shamelessly is most weekends!) It truly is the most fantastic takeaway. I uploaded some high def 2020 menu scans today. Hopefully they get posted in an easy to read size. First time ordering and sadly the last, took over an hour for food to arrive and then later in the evening my husband & I have both had bad stomachs running to the bathroom

I phoned Ikitchen this evening to order a mixture of meals for our party of seven adults, and I asked for them to be delivered to our holiday home on the outskirts of Scarborough. The lady who took the order was delightful, explaining clearly all the options for each meal (she even phoned me back soon afterwards when she discovered that one had just sold out, so we quickly made a slight change to the order). The total price for the order was less than £50, even with delivery included (mind you, that was amazingly only £2 anyway!). That's certainly good value, and made me wonder what the quality of the food would be like. I needn't have worried - the food arrived earlier than expected (with several free items) and turned out to be excellent! I asked everyone to give their meal marks out of 10, and the grand total came to 67 out of 70! We will certainly be ordering from Ikitchen again every time we holiday in Scarborough.

I kitchen normally offer a fantastic service, we use them regularly. But this evening we ordered a meal, the meal wasn't delivered until one hour and 45 minute. The first time we been let down. later

THE best Chinese around. Being veggie I love ordering from this takeaway whenever I visit my partner, as the variety is fantastic! Great portions, temperature is always perfect, and the staff are lovely! I’d give it more stars if I could!

Heard good reviews about this place but dissapointed.Think they slipped with the salt pot!

My favourite as a vegan is salt & pepper Tofu & garlic broccoli, I get them with the mini spring rolls. The mixed vegetables with vermacelli in black bean sauce is also yummy, add fresh chillies for a kick 😋💚

Had food from here many times. The order is always correct and ready quickly. Really tasty food and big portions! I am vegan and would only get Chinese takeaway in Scarborough from here.

Absolute horrendous chicken curry and chips.....the chicken had obviously been microwaved separately as was almost nuked to oblivion, and tasted bad. Chips were so random in colour and cooking depth they must’ve just chucked a load of scraps together that had been previously abandon the day before, and again I’m sure they were chucked in the microwave. The curry sauce had minimal flavour, what a waste of money 🤦‍♂️

Ok then , I ordered the crispy duck as a takeaway , £16.50 as a main on a large order , they told me it would be ready for pick up in half an hour, so I turned up payed and then proceeded to wait another fifteen to twenty minutes outside ,I received sorry after sorry for the wait , whilst people turned up ordered there and then and got theirs within ten minutes , I finally got mine, took it home to find that the Crispy Duck was very poor indeed , mostly shredded duck skin with very little meat involved and hardly half a duck in volume , as it was late , I decided to call to complain and was completely fobbed off by what sounded like the chef whom showed no interest in my complaint, so I wonder ,why is it cash only , now I know why, I will take my custom elsewhere .

Visiting Scarborough last week , loved it. Having read good reviews about iKitchen thought we might give it a go. Restaurant was closed but was still doing takeaway so ordered special menu for 2. had to wait over 35 mins because they forgot about me (you have to wait outside) eventually got our me and I could have eaten a scabby horse (which seemed to to be included, as it happened) I can't remember being this disappointed in a chinese meal. the starters seemed like they had been purchased from the local Iceland and cooked and reheated, fried rice was over cooked, prawn szechuan consisted of prawns & sliced chillies in Bisto gravy. I Could go onI can only think that the chef was taken ill and the only cover they had was old Doris the dinner ladyHonestly, I wouldn't eat from this place again if they were giving it away

Absolutely delicious would highly recommend this establishment, on my first visit to this town I would definitely return to this takeaway.

We have had Chinese food from all over this globe and the food from I Kitchen is just the best ever. We struggle as vegetarians to get a good curry but here they have got it just right. Please give it a go you will not be disappointed.

I had a problem with a specific part of the meal which caused some problems, I rang to inform them about this and was called a liar by an exceptionally rude lady if you want problems and be treated well please don't eat here.

I get takeaway from here from time to time and sometimes it’s really nice other times it’s really not very good. Yesterday I got one and it did not taste right at all but just presumed that it was a different chef on or they changed something in the ingredients. I woke up later violently throwing up, with crippling stomach pains and with a severe migraine. I was up constantly and have never thrown up so much in my life. Will never be using this takeaway ever again. I recommend going elsewhere.

Had a lovely takeaway delivered to our apartment while staying in Scarborough for a short break. Food was delivered on time and was very tasty. Driver rang when he arrived outside apartment so we could pop down to collect. Very efficient and great food too.

Ordered food to be delivered. Fast and friendly.Chow main lovely. Eive and chicken box inedible. Far too salty. I am sure that this was well over the daily recommended allowance for salt.

Food was tasty and my partner said the gravy was so nice. He said he thought there may have been red wine added to it. Nevertheless he was so pleased with the flavours.

Pretty average. The food is quite salty and tasteless, but they are good portion sizes. The manager treats her staff horribly.

Would never go again ! Soups were thick and glupy, ribs were supposed to be salt and pepper but weren't, far too busy answering the phone to see to people eating in. We waiting another half hour for our mains that didn't come the hot plates they had brought for the food had gone stone cold.when we said we were leaving and just paying for starters she went ape and started to push us out .They had forgot to bring the meal it was at the side of the till cold .would never go again very rude woman

Use this place when we stay in Scarborough. The quality of the food & delivery service is always top class. Absolutely stuffed 3 very hungry people for little over £30. Best salt and chilli ribs I've ever had!

It does not look very glamorous on the inside.However the food was truly outstanding and the people in the restaurant were genuinely nice people.Trust me I have tried a number of restaurants in my 55 years. This one without a shadow of a doubt is the best.Thank you

This chinese is a gem of Scarborough and should be congratulated for caring about its customers! Its mainly a takeaway but we ate in and more people should know you can eat here too. Their vegetarian men u is vast and they ensure that you can have what you order telling you if it has egg for example. They can also cook without msg and food cooked without much oil. Thank you for an excellent dinner. We are eating it again for our second meal in Scarborough. Staff are so kind. Highly recommended!

Had a takeaway delivered from ikitchen for the first time and I couldn't fault it. The lady on the phone was lovely and thorough and made it easy to order. The food arrived in good time and was piping hot. We ordered the munchie boxes and we were not disappointed, both the quality and quantity were fantastic. The ribs were meaty and tender, chips, rice and noodles cooked just right and the chicken balls were good quality also and it was all seasoned perfectly. I will be back!

Decided to try Saturday night after talking to the owner who told me about her relatively new venture and excellent feedback from friends who had already been to I kitchen. I ordered a mixed starter and king prawn noodle box which I had delivered hot and by a very pleasant man for an extra £2.It was all delicious especially the spare rib, the noodle box was very tasty and had loads of king prawns in it. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

I have used I Kitchen half a dozen times, it is well priced and the food is great always hot and tasty, only grumble is I asked for prawn crackers instead of chips or rice and was told no, simply bought crackers and binned the chips, fantastic food though

This is perhaps the best Chinese takeaway and restaurant I've experienced so far, and easily the best and most varied range of vegetarian and vegan options I've seen. We ate in their simple and clean restaurant, food speedily served and beautifully cooked, lovely fresh flavours. Friendly staff too. Deserves to be a big success in Scarborough, wish I could order from back home in Sheffield.

Just had a takeaway from ikitchen and Loved it!! Ordered and collected within 20 mins. It didn’t have the usual gloopy greasy taste and it was yummy! We ordered tofu Kung po, vegetable chow mien and sides of garlic broccoli and prawn toast! Delicious! Will definitely be returning! The only slight down side was that the chips were slightly rubbery (we still ate them) and we eat too many anyway so will be happy to just have rice for a healthier option! See you soon ikitchen! I am a vegan and often find it difficult trying to find a takeaway that caters for my dietary requirements. However this Chinese was amazing! The food tasted fresh and did the best tofu ive ever had. Thank you i kitchen. Keep up the good work and I'll look forward to trying new dishes soon ❤❤

Relaxing this evening with my favourite from here, Tofu Noodle Box with a few extra chilis *nom* As a vegetarian of over 30 years, I stopped eating Chinese food 30 years ago as to a veggie it was just tasteless slop. I tried Ikitchen in September when they opened on recommendation by a friend. Really tasty & a variety! (Whatever next) I just keep coming back! :P

scabby characterless little place.food was okay though sauces a bit gummy with the usual MSG additives. will only accept cash for payment - this always sets off warning bells for me and worries me about the quality of everything on offer.they have no alcohol license either, and suggest going to the shop next door - which is okay until they add £2.00 "corkage charge" for a screwtop wine bottle! when queried they said it was for the use of the wineglass and the cost of washing it after use. bad experience at the end of several poignant days in scarborough's fallen grandeur.

Ordered 3 meals. When delivered there was only 2. When called shop very rude and unhelpful.... Chips awful.....very overcooked. Curry was terrible.. inedible. All thrown in bin!!!! Avoid.

This is our 2nd visit to ikitchen and as before the food was great we had just been to watch the tour de Yorkshire and it was cold out and we thought we would eat in it was very busy with take outs so we sat at a table and we got served quite quickly they have put pitchers on the walls which give a bit more feeling but the heating was not on so it was cold this is the only thing that lets the restaurant side down. Please put some heating on so people can enjoy your food in comfort.

We went for my daughters birthday and had the set menu for 3. The mixed starter was delicious. The best pawn toast I've ever tasted. The satay chicken was tender and tasty. The portion sizes was generous. Our mains were equally plentiful and had the right amount of seasoning. I didn't find any the meals oily or greasy. We will definitely be dining here again!

The food here is delicious. We opted for takeaway. The vegetarian choice is brilliant,and it was one of the nicest Chinese meals I've ever had. My friends ordered meat options, and also agreed that their food was lovely. Really fresh tasting and delicious. Will be visiting again.

I’ve been stuck ordering chips and curry sauce from Chinese takeaways for a long time until we discovered this place, their vegetarian menu is amazing and is full of everything you could think of to fulfil that Chinese food craving! We have been ordering from here for a few months and have never been disappointed. Decently priced, always delivered within a good time and always soooo tasty! The only problem we ever have is calling up and not getting through due to ‘user busy’ but that’s nothing I can fault the restaurant for. Would definitely recommend!

Had our first takeaway from here today, and boy we were not disappointed. I cannot comment on the small restaurant, but the takeaway food is amazing. Speedy service. Vast menu to choose from. Very good food and good portion size. I'm not vegetarian, but if I where, I would have nothing to complain about as there are plenty of options for you to choose from. All reasonably priced. I particularly enjoyed the chicken Kung Po..... delicious!!.

I usually use a Chinese takeaway nearby, who reluctantly make me a vegetarian curry despite it not being on the menu. And they dont half make you know how much you are putting them out. I even stopped using them for a while because of it.

Most selection I've ever seen for veggies, my meat eater partner loves it too, food is always lovely and little freebies if you're ordering lots makes you feel like a valued customer. Love this place

No problems ordering and the meals were delivered after about 40 mins which for a Saturday night was good.We hadn't tried this place before and were very pleasantly surprised with the selections.As a veggie I had so much choice which is unusual for most Chinese restaurants.My husband had the King Prawn fried rice and was amazed at the amount of prawns he had.My Tofu and crispy noodles were delicious as was the side dish of mixed veg. We will definitely be ordering again as we were so impressed plus Thank you for the enormous bag of prawn crackers you gave us for free. Nice One!

Finally a take away that caters for vegetarians. The food was very nice and very filling, easy to order over the phone and was delivered within 30mins. Will only order from here now defo my new fav Chinese takeaway. Well done IKitchen

This place has not been open long. Ordered via phone just after opening time then walked to pick up. Food ready at time they stated. Was very hot even after walk back. I thought price good, portions of a good size. (leftovers for a warm up next day). Tasty. There is lots of choice on the menu. Our family have used several times already with no problems.

I called the takeaway service during a quiet time. Received the order within ten minutes of the expected time. Very tasty and plenty inn the box.

I have been and eaten in it was as the weather was changing and had droped cold and in the restaurant it was very cold the saving grace was the food was very nice.

Tried phoning to place an order no answer the phone had been taken off so don't rely on a delivery. My daughter decided to go in instead. She waited just over an hour, for the food. Five dishes one of which was chips. We ordered mixed meat rice and when we got the order back to our holiday home it was not with the other dishes. No way we're we going to return, I tried phoning but no answer. This was Saturday 6th october. The food was nothing exceptional, the service was atrocious.

This is a fairly new establishment, and I had been hearing good things about it, so I thought I would check it out.

Picked up a menu from the doorway when walking past last week. Tried calling to order for a collect, 10 goes later still no answer and mainly went to an unattended answerphone so decided to walk around and place the order in person for collection.

Me and my parter Ordered the munchie box, crispy chilly beef and the appetiser for one. Delivery was 45 minutes and they were bang on. Delivery staff were lovely and polite. Smells amazing, tastes amazing, lovely portion sizes. Only reason for not a 5 is the ribs are very tough and the prawn toast a little to greasy. Other than this it was absolutely perfect! Will deffinaltey be ordering again and is now our go to Chinese best in scarbrough.
