stayed here with my wife and 2 small children staff on reception were very nice and helpful room was very clean and enough room for us all breakfast was good and worth every penny definitely stop again

Like another author on here, having a meal in a department store seemed to me to be a bit "old hat", what with all the other dining opportunities there are about the place these days. But, knowing that the House of Fraser store in the centre of Hull will be closing shortly (see below) made me especially nostalgic so when the opportunity arose to visit I welcomed it with open arms. I won't claim this to be the swishest place in town. For a start, it's in the basement which means there is no natural light, nor do you benefit from the rooftop views which are common to many department store cafes and restaurants these days. But the atmosphere was friendly and there was a choice of conventional tables or comfy armchairs to sit in. There was the usual range of coffees and teas on offer, and a modest selection of cakes and sandwiches. I chose a chicken and bacon panini with caramelised onion jam. This was toasted to order, served with a small side garnish, arrived within a few minutes and tasted delicious! The staff were very friendly and chatty and it is sad to think they will lose their jobs in a few months' time - readers will probably know that this particular store has been axed by House of Fraser with a provisional closing date of 19th January 2019. I for one will be very sad to see it go - I remember back to the days when it traded as "Binns" (part of the family group which operated in the north east of England) and - even further back in the mists of time - good old "Hammonds", another local family firm which actually built the store in its prominent location opposite the railway station the early 1950s. Time marches on sadly and the days of the conventional department store may be numbered. But there is still time to pay a visit to this pleasant hideaway in the centre of the city.

i love love love this place. their food is immaculate and everything is just so perfect about them. 100% recommend

burger was supposed to be half pound but was a quarter. asked for no salad and garlic sauce on the kebab and got salad AND chilli. not great on an order of two things if you mess them both up drastically.

The store wasn't clean table needed clearing bad attitude from the staff. Not very good this time. My wife has a disability the staff was rude to her as she was struggling on the self service screen

Prawn crackers delicious , starters of sesame prawn toast and spring rolls delicious, main course of sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style, chicken and pineapple with egg fried rice and salt and pepper chips absolutely amazing, will definitely recommend and return

Ordered food to be delivered. Delivered earlier than expected. Absolutely delicious. And a bag of prawn crackers thrown in. Definitely recommend the chicken chow mein. 😊😊😊😊

Called by to and ordered a a meat feast pizza and popcorn chicken. The pizza tasted disgusting and had a very strange taste to it and the popcorn chicken was more overcooked than anything I have ever known. A total waste of money. Never again.

También la tarta de chocolate súper suave, capa gruesa de chocolate, galletas manchadas y mi tarta de queso de galleta favorita es perfecta, muy recomendable. Había sido un día ajetreado, con hornos que no funcionaban uno pensaría que estarían estresados. Sé que lo haría, pero eran animados, felices, agradables y parlanchines. Solo un ambiente tan agradable y un equipo amable, enorme gracias a la joven que ordenó mi orden de pastel, mis hijas y amiga estaba zumbando 😀

As always we had a great time in this lgbt friendly cafe bar. Friendly chatty staff fun atmosphere (there's often a drag act on or dj) and most of the prices are cheaper than weatherspoons.
