Still has that that feel of a traditional pub I recognise from when I lived in the town forty years ago. It isn't genteel, but it is welcoming, to dogs too. If the Chilli is on the specials board have it, rich, freshly made with chopped not minced beef, definitely one of the best I have had eating out. Amazing value too.

After a summer recess White's is again open. Once more the menu (Experience Menu) is a deliciously delightful surprise. The amusee-ing starters are a kaleidoscope of fabulously filled croquettes, mousse that wants to float away, salad dressings that supplement, brown shrimps, lamb, beef, chicken - what is not to like? The later courses are simply superb. Having enjoyed a decade worths of scallops at Whites, I try not to eat scallops anywhere else. The chef, John Robinson, sources sumptuous products and treats them with care, skill, experience and passion, consistently setting a remarkable standard that never falters. The charming waitress was attentive and cheerful throughout, which only helps further. Six stars? Still not enough.

Visited Beverley with a friend today and decided to drop by this bakery purely out of curiosity as we walked past ! Took home a strawberry tart and a lemon tart - they were both amazing ! One of the best I had ! Will definitely be back for more ! 🙂

Stuck a pin in a ( google) map to find a breakfast one hour away from leaving holiday accommodation. What a find. Interesting decor showed off the home made cakes and savouries whilst we waited a few minutes for a table. Breakfast avocado with poached eggs on sourdough bread, sun dried tomatoes, chorizo and pea shoots was divine and substantial. Staff were friendly and obviously enjoyed serving and cooking as much as we enjoyed eating. Make a detour. Worth every mile and every penny.

We had been to the Hotham Arms a couple of months ago and found it to be an extremely quirky comfortable place to have a pint and a meal. At that time the food was absolutely spot on and would take some beating. Well I was wrong, we returned yesterday 12/11/4 and was met by a waitress who took us to a table of our choice. Swiftly we received our drinks order and our food order was taken, My wife ordered the sirloin steak and I went for the steak, onion and black sheep pie. When our meals arrived I was in awe, a huge portion of proper hand cut chips, veg of the season, of which the parsnips were the most tastiest I have ever had. My wife's meal as similar the steak was cooked to perfection and she also enjoyed the hand cut chips. She had also ordered a side dish of battered onion rings and thought she would receive two or three, instead there was a large bowl of them. She said the batter on the onion rings was the best she had tasted and invited me to assist in eating them all, yes they were very moreish. We was going to forego a "pudding" until we saw what the two ladies behind us ordered passed by, again we were both impressed with our "afters". On speaking to the waitress, she informed us that two new Chefs had started work there this week and she had also been impressed at the plates they were producing. Well worth a visit, I was highly impressed with the food, service, cosy atmosphere and quirky decor.

I really enjoyed my time here, shapla Indian is the best India around, ready nice staff, especially mizzy, he is very kind and considerate, he really cares about his customers and deserves a raise/promotion. This is by far the best restaurant I have been too, I am very happy with my food and once again mizzy has made my day!!
