Had food here 3 days on hols. Hubby loved the spaghetti bolonaise. Fab chips and love the salad..had ice creams, tea etc from the window for the beach in the 9 days we were on hols. Everything piping hot in the cafe ,good portions as always etc. Staff all friendly, working very hard in that lovely weather, We were so lucky to have. Well done and thanks. Every year we visit bridlington and we always go here for lunch and usually dig in for an afternoon of drinking, the food here is amazing, the views are awesome and staff are incredible plus they give veterans discount, you can't go wrong here trust me

food was nice, had the bolognaise jacket potato and large portion that was nice however staff need basic training in communication as they were rude and one even spilled the food down my shoe as she was trying to clear plates. poor from the staff.

4 of us go out for lunch once a week and as Richie's has always been nice we visited again and absolutely lovely food lots of staff around didnt have to wait long at all for 4 meals then went back for a drink and that delish apple pie and few mins later it was on the table Thank you once again Hillary, Dawn, Pat & Irene

Really disappointed, for seaside food this was rubbish. Chips were anemic, fish was overcooked and batter crispy and hard. Left over half of it. Avoid a waste of £30!

The service and poor hygiene for handling of food is a concern here. After ordering 2 well done bacon rolls and 2 hot drinks, I was advised to wait just outside and listen for my order number to be shouted. I waited patiently for 20 minutes with no news on my order. The lad who took my order then asked if anyone order a latte and a black coffee, I heard this and said I did but also ordered 2 bacon rolls. The lad said we’re very busy and there is a delay in getting bacon ready. I waited in the cafe with my drinks for a further 20 minutes and saw some people who had come in after me getting their full order (drinks and food). After 45 minutes, with my drinks getting cold I asked how my order was progressing, to be told that we’re just waiting for the bacon to be well done. It should be noted that whilst stood in the entrance to the cafe, it could be seen that the kitchen staff were handling raw and cooked food with their hands (ungloved) with no use of tongs, etc. After 1 hour another lad appears at the counter and shouts 2 well done bacon butties. That’s me I said as other customers entering the cafe were seeing the extreme delays of 40 minutes upwards for a sandwich and saying they wouldn’t bother and left the cafe. Meanwhile the other cafe staff were dealing with orders for “eating in” and getting upset as food was being returned that was not their order or was cold, probably as it was stood there for several minutes waiting to be taken to the customers table. I know this cafe is popular given its location and we have supported it for many years but after this experience will be looking elsewhere for food in future. 👎

Trip to Bridlington to see Race the Waves.Ordered two potions of cheesy chips advertised at £4.50 each. The lad behind the desk charged us, £10.50 I paid in cash, when I questioned the price I was told that the prices advertised on the price board of which there was at least 2, were incorrect and that was the new price. Having just moved to the area I’ll give this place a miss in the future, added to which the potion sizes were small, definitely not value for money

A great dog friendly cafe right next to the beach. Stopped in for lunch while out for a walk with my friend's dog. Had a lovely bowl of delicious Leek and potato soup.with a toasted ciabatta. Followed by an amazing portion of Apple pie with ice cream The food was tasty and well cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

The staff are very friendly, the prices are great, you are able to sit in or sit outside the restaurant or up top on the terrace bar and admire the amazing view. Richies will be a regular visit when I come to Brid, which will be often!

We had lunch here with family so 4 adults and 2 dogs... what a mistake... After queueing for the food for for 10 minutes I was told I should be at the other end of the cafe.. Went there and no one around and another customer had been there 10 mins. At this point if we hadn't been with family we would have left. There were just kids in the background in the kitchen - not working - just chatting and on their phones. Eventually I got served and ordered 2 x fish and chips and 2 x baked potato and cheese and coleslaw. I had to ask three times for the rubbish from the previous punters to be removed and the table cleaned. When the food arrived the fish and chips were not good,. greasy fish and soggy chips.. the men ate them as they were starving but both commented very poor quality. the baked potatoes were far worse... they were stone cold and looked very old - you know when all the inside flesh is also brown. Must have been a week old at least. I sent them back. One of the young girls took them back grudgingly and replaced. She didnt replace the extra cheese we had ordered so when asked for she literally slammed it down on the table... At least the cheese did melt a bit on the potatoes this time. It was truly awful - I would recommend avoid.... they have children working in the kitchen, children working tables and the end product of something that should be a simple dish was abysmal...

We had 41 people in our group (we run social groups for over 50s) some members have mobility problems and some have other needs. We were well looked after. The staff ensured we were able to sit together and that we had everything we needed nothing was to much trouble. Everyone enjoyed their food especially the fish. The service was excellent and we didn't have to wait long for the food they were efficient and on the ball. Thank you Richies cafe we will be back!

Sat out side having a cold beer beer is a good price too sat watching train & the world go by clean staff friendly dog friendly too

Food was ok but way over priced i had the Yankee burger came with chips and salad, chips were fine the burger however was lile it came out of a tin. I paid £11 but was only worth about £5 won't be going back.

£5.20 for a chip butty what a joke hit chips on top of cold disgusting 🤮 not what it used to be. Tourism rip off

Breakfast was rubbish cheapest sausage you can buy margarine on toast asked for butter said don't have it then an other customer had scones with butter asked for dry toast and butter portion got that eventually ordered big breakfast included was toast and bread and butter that never came even though asked 3 times granddaughter wanted sausage in toast the toast was all burnt what an appalling experience none of the staff seemed to know what they were doing never again will I or anyone I know go there

Always a warm welcome, particularly today when the weather was awful. My wet dog was also welcome. Best cup of tea in Bridlington and hot food is prepared to order. Always visit this cafe when I come to Brid.

We stumbled across this little place during a long weekend in Brid early in the year. From the out set the bar maid ( is that PC these days??) was great and pretty much treated us like locals. She was lovely and very chatty. They serve a good selection of bears at prices that are akin to you non seaside local boozer. Our Sao was welcomed and the clientele friendly. We didn’t try the food but the menu prices were agreeable. All in all definitely one to try if you’re in Brid. I’d like to see it in full summer as the outside seating looked spot on overlooking the beack.

Excellent food and plenty of it, recommend the burgers and the chips are proper very dog friendly what more can you ask for.

Called today and had the seaside favourite, fish and chips. Service was prompt,food good ,tea, well Yorkshire tea bags would have been nice instead of the bland tasting cuppa we had. All in all a decent lunch . Will definitely call again.

Location fantastic right on the seafront. Food poor quality, tried apple pie as looked lovely in the display unit, with I hadn't bothered, was definitely days old, nothing fresh about it at all. It's ok to stop off for a coffee but I'd avoid the food altogether, I've tried their ham & cheese toastie, again disappointed in poor quality. My main issue is the staff, no one smiles, they grumble thanks under their breath. Need to go on customer service training with immediate effect either that or their p45s. They have a prime location yet clearly bad management as if I owned/ran this I'd make sure my staff were customer focused, plus sack the chef

Right on seafront. And I mean right on ! Only a wall and some walkway separating Beach from cafe. In area working at hospital as Locum and advised to go by BB owner at Marina just over the road. Seating outside with the sea air was a great change from the smog of the city where I live .May even return for a holiday in summer.

Unfortunately this popular cafe got it very wrong today. I think there water boiler was not up to full temperature when they served our tea and when I advised them of it, the response was a very simple “oh” such a shame

Having a lovely walk along the front. Decided to call in for a coffee ☕. The young girl are helping and polite. It was a lovely coffee. Didn't have any food. But it looked really good. If your walking past definitely worth calling in.

Visited this week and sat outside with our dog. A man cleared the table and saw us waiting to dit down. He did not return to wipe the dirty table. Also in the takeaway que an elderly gentleman was stood so close to me and eventually noticed me edging away from him. Social distancing is not sinking in with some people. The lady on the till was miserable and did not challenge him.

Fabulous service, beer and food at good prices. I still need you bolognese recipe please.Nice to see the same faces, staff and regulars. Very dog friendly, a sausage or just water for the pooches.Menu good and a nice mix of healthy salads, jacket potatoes or on the other side the best burgers, especially the Baby Italian Keep up the good work guys and will see u next time we are in Bridlington x

Breakfast stop before the beach. Far to expencive, give it a miss and grab a better cheaper brecky elsewhere.

Dog friendly cafe/bar well used by friendly locals. We visited twice and will visit again next time we are in Bridlington. Bar prices are reasonable as are the food prices, the food we had on both days were good portions and served by the pleasent young staff and in a reasonable time. Nothing really more to be said except thank you to the owners and staff, see you again.

Called in for two “homemade scones” with jam & cream & two coffees.Never again. Scones were burnt, very dry & tasteless.The cream wasn’t even cream, it was very thin & runny (out of an aerosol).We had our coffee & left the scones.I told the waitress politely the scones were not nice & she said “oh dear” & walked off!!

Sadly this was not the best place i chose to eat while on my holiday. Though it was conveniently situated on the promenade, i was not impressed in most other areas. The menu is limited and is all junk food, billed as not fast food, however in my opinion it was fast food, just not as fast as other places as we sometimes waited 30 mins. The prices were a little outrageous too, considering we could have gone in McDonalds and had the same food much quicker + cheaper. Social distancing was almost non-existent and only 1 member of staff had a mask. The saving grace of Ritchies was the food was very tasty and had sufficient portions. However i would rather eat in many of the other cafe's if i ever return to Yorkshire.

We were staying nearby for the weekend, and due to the weather Bridlington sea front was very busy. I have to say Richies were doing an excellent job with smooth service and distancing measure in place. We stopped in for drinks a few times, but no food. The food we did see being served, looked excellent, so we’ll give it a try next time we’re there. The management of distancing is done well. One door in, one out, see through barriers at bar points, hand sanitiser and tables well distanced, particularly up on the terrace. Queuing was managed well too. Always felt very comfortable. Pint was decent too. Looking forward to coming back.

Called in this evening, Ist thing we noticed that there was NO social distancing.We ordered fish and chips with mushy peas and tea to come with the meal.When the meal arrived the batter was like concrete !! and you could hardly see the fish inside it..Overall the meal was very disappointing !!!

just finished work picked my six year old son upHe hand nuggets and chips proper chicken I had fish fingers proper just like getting a flaky fish and the beans was lovely and sweet and soft just like been back at schoolcan't wait to come back prices was good too.

The seaside is wrapped into this wonderful cafe. Excellent food, hearty portions, the choice of liquid refreshment a bonus...5* recommend

Wouldn’t give an extra cup for a 7 year old to go with a pot of tea. Was considering having lunch here, gave it a miss after that.

If you're looking for a no frills, dog friendly café that serves decent food, then come here.My partner, I and our Cocker Spaniel walked up from Fraisthorpe beach and found Richie's to be perfectly adequete for what we wanted. A nice meal in a comfortable environment that allows dogs. I even managed to position myself so I could sneakily watch the early kick off on the TV whilst nodding in agreement to whatever my partner was saying.Yes, the staff may be young and inexperienced, but they did their jobs well and even threw in a free sausage or two for the dog which was very generous.No complaints and will come back.

Just went for a walk with my son and and little dog . Got as far as riches bar that's as far as I need to go had a drink sit down staff was fantastic prices was good my son had a ice cream what a lovely end to my day. Keep tp the good work.

Visited after a walk along the beach. Plenty of tables with tables in the bar area as well where food can be ordered. Plenty of friendly staff to help you. Very good choice on the menu for hot and cold meals and drinks. Lovely selection of homemade cakes. There is a takeaway part to it as well and plenty of seating outside. We both opted for a very tasty bacon bap and a coffee. Reasonable prices.

We keep visiting this café because of the fabulous food and coffee, plus the friendly staff who are always welcoming. Fantastic location and clean with a great arrange of food and drinks also outdoor seating.

Lovely staff, great food and allow dogs what more do you want from a eating place. Clean, bar, toilets and love dogs ( sausages for the dog ) nice gesture.

Great cafe on Bridlington seafront, sit in or outside in the sunshine. Very busy,but still get served quickly, simply order, take a number and your food is brought to your table. Had breakfast there on bank holiday weekend, opted for bacon bitty with mushrooms and tomatoes, delious, hot and plenty of it. Have also enjoyed a chilled glass of wine on the top deck on a previous visit. Best of all it's friendly!

Visited for drinks, sat on the rooftop terrace, the sun was shining and it was lovely. Great view of the beach and plenty of seats available. Seating also available downstairs in the main cafe area. Seems a popular place to eat & drink, always busy. Recommend.

It was our first trip to Bridlington with the family and we spotted this beach side cafe for some fish and chips. We were very impressed with our meals. The fish was lovely and fresh. The batter was amazingly crispy and the chips were nice and chunky. Kids loved it and so did the adults. Will definitely come back to this cafe should we make a trip to Bridlington again.

Went to Richies for lunch a few weeks' ago and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was good, the staff were friendly and helpful and there was a lovely atmosphere. The younger ones who were obviously helping out during the school holidays were working very hard and are to be commended, as so often these days they do get a bad press.

We came here, to the takeaway part one sunny Sunday. Freshly cooked to order, we didn't mind waiting. We had a mix of fish and chips, chips and gravy, chips with party and just chips. All perfectly cooked And crispy. Great value, considering at the sea side. Friendly staff and helpful.

Ordered a full breakfast, a bacon roll and beans on toast. The full breakfast and the bacon roll were delivered, no sign of the beans on toast they hadn't cooked it on querying it ! The big breakfast went down ok, the roll was cold and the beans on toast when finally arrived was ok. Twenty quid for this plus coffee and two cokes, won't be returning.

Cheap eats in a basic cafe type bar. Lack of staff and queues and younger staff getting a bit stroppy. Visited last year but this year although the food was ok it took ages and part of the order was forgotten and we had to wait forever.

Went down after work with my 5 year old son . VERY friendly staff always happy to see you and say hi how are you. Find that nice in this day and age . Had fish and chips with curry sauce for 4 pound how good was that and bread and butter on the side . Should me got my son one as he had most of it. Drinks well priced and very nice. Average but decent enough cafe with bar and great balcony seating. Food portions large if that's what you are looking for. Ploughman's salad was huge.

We live locally, so it's a good place to come for lunch and a drink from the bar. The only criticisms I can make is that there are sometimes men swearing around the bar, which isn't great since its a family restaurant. Also the loos aren't always pleasant. Food is great though, so we put up with the flaws.

It’s absolutely terrible they let kids in till all hours and the clientele are skummy and rude and the staff are not much better. I left

We ate in and had Fish and Chips for 3. I’ve had take out fish and chips before here many times which is handy when you’re renting a beach hut and the apple pie is amazing.

First time here, food was reasonable and not too expensive. Staff friendly enough. Used the toilets which need a proper clean! Pwwahh!!

Stopped here today for a late lunch. Wide menu on offer. Shame no specific gluten free but I had an omelette which was nice. Husband and daughter’s meals looked lovely. A ciabatta pizza and a chicken burger. Good hot, tasty and quick. Friendly staff. Could take dog inside too. Sports on TVs was perfect as had GP on and tennis and cricket. Right in sea front too. Could sit inside or outside. Would recommend.

Wish I had found this place before I had eaten. Fish and chips looked lovely as did other food all at reasonable prices. Had apple pie with cream. Home made lovely. Then sat there on the promenade for a few hours with some beer. If I ever go to bridlington again I'll eat there

Eat,drink even a glass of wine if you require! It’s lovely to sit out on the roof and watch the world go by! Perfect in summer! If you have a beach you can grab food to takeout! Everything you need under one roof

Just had the loveliest ploughman's meal here in Brid at Richies followed by the most delicious apple pie.Cant beat the amazing views from the spacious and comfortable balcony area overlooking the sea, where our food arrived freshly prepared and is always served by friendly staff . A real gem, which on a beautiful summer evening takes some beating.Can highly recommend.

Always get lovely food here, it’s not fine dining by any stretch but it’s good food, very reasonably priced, great portions, varied menu & the view is beautiful, right on the promenade.

We always call here for fish and chips after walking our dogs on the beach. If it's fine we go on the roof which is great for us as our dogs take up space! Always good food, reasonably priced!

We had a staycation at the South Shore chalets so Richie's was very handy. We seemed to live on egg and bacon baps for much of our two week stay. They are well set up for take-away as well as dine in or outside. Friendly and helpful staff made out stay very comfortable. Must make a point of going there on the first Saturday of the month for the Veterans breakfast.

Fantastic location sat right in front of a glorious stretch of golden sand. Cold beers, ice cream and hot foods available. Also they honour the forces discount card and blue light card. Which is always a bonus in my eyes. Well worth a visit.

Looks a little rough with no particular frill but food and service is cheap and excellent.

If you're hungry I would recommend Richies. Initially on looking at the menu we thought it was a bit pricey. However the portions definitely make it value for money. We all had toasties which were very tasty and very filling. The downside was it has a bar and when the football is on can get quite noisy. It is dog friendly inside which even though we don't have dog we didn't mind. Worth a visit.

Elevenses on a walk on the prom, called for lunch after the walk back, Huge! lasagne meals, one would have been plenty to have between us!, Picked up some takeout sandwiches & apple pie for our tea later in our hotel room, got discount on both our purchases by using a Brid Passport card given to us by our guest house hosts. Richie's is a good all round cafe / bar & restaurant, with efficient & friendly staff, clean loos, good for people watching, as well as dog breed spotting, they are well behaved and welcome here.

Pop in here often for coffee or a light lunch. Staff always friendly. Good food and drink. Great prices. Right on prom so can enjoy the sunshine and watch the world go by. Takeaway drinks and ices. Just has everything you need.

Sat in filey trying to remember where this place was because we liked it so much from our last trip to filey. Finally remembered it was in Bridlington lol. Missy got a yummy sausage which kept her quiet for all of .....1 minute. Will be back again. Thank you all

We have been several times and it is good value for food and drink and with views of the beach. It is dog friendly and the staff are friendly.

Only had coffees but they were very nice and good value. Lovely warm winters day so sat outside. Overlooking the beach. Menu looked good. Also had seating inside. Staff were very friendly.

After taking the dogs for their Sunday morning walk this is a stop off for breakfast. Bacon sandwich with tomatoes has become a regular thing. Best bacon butties in Brid.

Great value for OAPs fish supper. Restricted to one day per week I think but there is a voucher in local paper and on leaflets. Good standard, great service and friendly staff.

Visited with friends after a walk along Bridlington beach. Plenty of friendly staff, clean and plenty of seating inside and out. Dog friendly as well. Very good choice on the menu of hot and cold drinks also a licensed bar with separate seating. We just had a coffee and a cake but the food we did see being served looked very nice. Good views over Bridlington beach.

Don't know it till you try it. 2 adults plus. 2 infants. Busy spot as the sun was out. Good ice cream, good quality snack, speedy service , pleasant staff on duty(21/10/18) We'll be calling again sometime, definitely!

We happened upon Richie's Cafe-bar and so pleased we did, cakes brilliant, coffee excellent, and very dog friendly. We had coffee and cake and I went in and asked if I could buy a cooked sausage for our Spaniel to be told they are free, I couldn't believe it, we got one and as we didn't have to pay we put a tip in the cup for the staff. The staff excellent, atmosphere excellent, yes we would recommend and we will definitely go back, when we go to Bridlington we will not go any where else, Well done Richie's cafe bar :):):)

This is a lovely cafe on the beach front. Plenty of seats and suitable for all including families, dogs etc. The hot chocolates are really big with cream and sprinkles...perfect treat. It has a lovely view of the sea and it's always got customers in.

The landlady from the Royal Bridlington recommended we go here as we had a dog and the weather meant we couldn’t sit outside anywhere.

Decided to try Richie’s for lunch on comef’tday trip to Bridlington. We weren’t disappointed. The fish and chips were the best we’ve had in a long time. Lovely light crispy batter. Thanks also for the very friendly service and to the gentleman who entertained us with jokes! Our dog Mabel also thanks you for the sausage.Great experience . We’ll be back to try the famous apple pie which looked delicious.

Dropped in on 5th Sept for a Brew and breakfast bap (I made my own tea to my liking without going on YouTube!) Prices are fair, service is good and the staff dish out free sausages to the dogs. We didn't have a dog but I wouldn't say no to a freebie. Overall ideally located on the south beach to cater for everyone's taste. If we come to Brid again would definitely pop in.Recommended

Called for a coffee while strolling on the prom, hot & refreshing, before resuming our walk,and a spot of people watching [one of our hobbies]. We called again for some lunch a little later, hubby had a pensioners fish'n'chip special, with peas + bread/butter, I went for the regular omelette, with 2 toppings plus cheese [I chose onions+mushrooms]. My omelette was very nice, I had a bottle of water to go with. hubby enjoyed his lunch with a coke. Our guest house host gave us a discount card [20%] which we used for our lunch payment as well as our sandwiches & apple pie bought for our tea later on. The staff are nice and efficient too, Our sandwiches & apple pies were enjoyed in our hotel room for our tea, whilst watching TV. The cafe loos are clean and spacious, we used the roof terrace as a handy short cut to the South Cliff road near to our guest house, Thanks!

Really good cafe bar/restaurant. It is what is says on the box. Seaside food, generous portions, friendly staff, clean, good value for money. Right on the sea front and very dog friendly. Our caverpoo loved it.

Pop to see an old friend infrequently but he always brings me to this beachfront cafe and we always have bacon sandwich, coffee for me and a pot of tea for him. I am not a creature of habit us we both enjoy this little ritual and it is an inexpensive treat for us both. He comes here at least once a week which is a recommendation in itself for a local.

Richie’s is our ‘Go To’ place when we want to chill in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere... food is great, there is a good range of reasonably priced drinks... always clean.. you are always made to feel welcome as is our dog...staff are fab... always have time for a chat.... and a tip top sea front location. Don’t change a thing xxx

Absolutely love this place, food is great, well priced and always served with a smile. Richie is an absolute gent, a true star who goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. Thursday night fish & chips is a must, cheap and helping raise funds for a worthwhile charity. Also a big supporter of the RNLI. Great food, great location, great guy!

Visited here last week with my family, 9 of us in total. The location is great with a lovely sea view and a nice atmosphere with the music playing. I had sausage and chips which was okay but didn't like the cheap ketchup provided. The service is what dissapointed me- the waitresses just ignored us they literally put our plates down and walked off. Didn't expect much from a busy cafe but a simple smile would have been appreciated, especially because we were a large group!

The bar is in a great spot right on the promenade. The food was great and the staff are very friendly - it was no trouble for them to move tables around to accommodate our party of nine. Highly recommended!

Our family of 4 ate here on our first day in Bridlington. The cafe was dirty, greasy and had dogs in. The kids meals were ok but my jacket potato was brown and soggy inside with a rank taste. This place is well over priced and basically run by kids. Avoid!
