Bull and Sun public house/restaurant in East Riding of Yorkshire

Just had a lovely meal with my family. The food was excellent, all freshly cooked. The staff are lovely and looked after us, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Festive fayre menu more like grotto grub. Tin of tomatoes for soup all veg on main meal cold and boiled to mush . No festive feeling in pub 1 Christmas napkin is about it

Christmas Dinner, what a joke is the best description. I would have to question the people who have marked this any higher than a 2. COVID must have destroyed your taste buds. I am going to begin with a Pate starter, 2 slabs of pate dumped on plate, butter thrown in ramekin and can clearly see knife was wiped on edge to get it in, the toast I am sure was left over from breakfast, cold and chewey. The main course was well let's say interesting, Gammon hmmmm, it was cold, Brussels sprouts zero flavour, cauliflower boiled to death along with the brocoli, cabbage like my Nan used to boil in a pot, to top it off boiled potatoes wirth skin on and had to ask for the roast potatoes as they had apparently forgotten to put them on the plate. Let's talk about dessert, a slab of cheese cake with squirty cream. £50 per person, what an absolute joke... There were 8 of us for dinner, and I'm not going to go into other people's dinners, which were just as bad..

We chose this place after checking out the trip advisor rating. I can't believe it got an average of 4.5. We paid for the three meat roast. I got one small piece of pork, 2 small peices of lamb and one was all fat, turning it over it had two veins through the middle. Why would you plate this up, it's dog food. The potatoes had black eyes through them, the cauliflower was soggy and stewed to death. Every veg was overcooked and mushy. Nothing was seasoned at all. The gravy was watery. The food was lukewarm at best. The seat back was broken so my core got a workout as you couldn't sit back. We complained but no apology at all. It cost £13 per person. It was worth a quid at best.

Had Sunday lunch, it was absolutely delicious, chef even took the chicken from the breast cos I said u didn’t like it in the bone. Food all locally sourced and cooked to perfection

Well we have just got home after our first (but definitely not last) visit to the Bull & Sun next door to the stunning Priory in Bridlington Old Town!! The interior of the pub is tasteful & impressed me a lot. The landlady is genuinely friendly & the food is excellent. My hubby had a mixed grill which was AMAZING value for money & I had a delish sirloin steak. We were delighted with our visit & will definitely be back despite moving down the coast to Hornsea.

We had our meals and was very disappointed, our Lasagna was dry and the chips were too thick and tasted bland my husband’s meat pie was lousy. The garlic bread was burnt. We was overcharged so we told them and they gave us the money back. At 10.95 per meal we was robbed

This pub is popular with all age ranges. It has a more lively bar area and a traditional lounge. The staff are friendly and efficient. The pub and toilets were clean. We were surprised there was a separate vegetarian and vegan menu which also provided vegan butter and cheese, although unfortunately they had no cheese when we visited. I had a no chicken curry which was nice and my husband went for the no chicken burger. There was the option of a few other meals including chilli, no beef burger and meatballs. You could have your food with either chips, jacket potato, rice or mash and ours came with a small side salad as well. We both enjoyed eating here and visited twice during our holiday.

We were looking for a dog friendly place to eat lunch and after checking out 2 not suitable (1 didn't do food and 1 was not dog friendly) we were directed to this place. We decided on jacket potatoes with cheese and chilli and they were lovely and such reasonable prices. Would recommend.

Visited this pub today by chance and wow great welcome good food reasonable prices and a landlady with vision and a positive attitude we'll definitely be returning.

Friendly staff, Lovely manager, the food was great, went for a big family birthday meal with kids and many adults, food was done in good time and it was good value, portions we're bigger than expected, drinks not over priced, I'd say a perfect place for afternoon with Friends and family for food or drinks, would and have recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As titled, we had 3 lovely meals here spread across six night and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Was given to understanding that the pub has recently been taken over and the new owner did have a Michelin star which bodes well. The food is lovely and each attempt to get the steak pie failed as there had been a run on it at each visit. Should have gone earlier. I think an extra staff member would not go amiss as much of anything to keep the current staff sane. they were so busy it was incredible. We will definitely be back as the food is brill and the price is right. Hosts are great. What's not to like. Best of luck to the new owners and see you again in October.

New landlord had continued with the great service. Great choice on menu of good classic pub food and some things you wouldn’t expect. T-Bone Steak. My partner and I had fish and chips with mushy peas. The fish is sourced locally as is the veg and meat. The landlord told us they will soon be serving the fish in three sizes. Was doing Bridlington old town and came across this place ,we was at seasiide so had to be Fish and Chips and what a good choice it was. Large fish nice chips and very hot and fresh . Service was fast and pleasant.

Found this hotel after looking around old bridlington,they all seemed to open after 3 pm.crossed the main road and found the hotel,had 2 gin and tonics for Ann,and I had 2 bottles of alcohol free beer,then we had Cajun chicken,and I had a mixed grill,it was huge I could,nt finish it all.was lovely.staff were lovely good prices too

I stayed in Bridlington for one night on business and the hotel I stayed at didn’t serve food on Tuesday evenings, so I went to explore. I came across the Bull and Sun and decided I’d eat there. I’m so glad I did. The vegetarian lasagna I had was absolutely scrumptious. It was a bit quiet on the evening I visited but the staff were very nice and the atmosphere felt right. I’d certainly go there again, if next in the area.

We had this place recommended so we travelled through today not to be disappointed. Nice traditional English pub, lady in charge (we presume) was lovely and very helpful with a nice way about her. The menu and special board has plenty of choice and when our meal came it was plentiful, hot and infact i could only manage 1/2 of my guiness pie!!! Would def say pop in if you are in the area.we will be back.

We've been a few times now its not a one off review, food is of a very high quality the staff are friendly and efficient nice comfortable decor along with a clean well kept dining area and not expensive.

Just called in with some friends for a drink late afternoon, after visiting the Old Town and lovely Priory Church (which is nearby).The Bull & Sun was quiet at the time, but was comfortable and clean and the Tribute beer from St Austell had travelled well and was a great pint.

Just been to Bridlington for the day and we were looking for a pub to go with the family and a little dog. Found this pub on trip advisor, and now we understand the good reviews. We had fish and chips, fishcakes and the steak and Guinness pie. The fish and chips were a good size and cooked just nicely, the steak pie had so much meat in it my boyfriend loved it, and the fishcakes were tasty and tastes homemade rather than shop bought. The staff were friendly and the service was good. Also theres a nice beer garden to the rear with doggy treats available. We recommend you go here if you go to Bridlington old town :)
