Have been a few times recently, sitting indoors on one occasion and then outside in the courtyard on another. Both are a lovely setting and very characterful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food delicious both times although I probably wouldn’t choose the goat’s cheese with cranberry toastie again as rather than a ‘toastier’ it was simply ingredients between two very dry slices of toast. But dessert was delicious (lovely homemade cakes) and I think I just made error in choice of main course. The rest of the family had lovely main meals. We finished with a visit to their gallery, and bought a few bits from the antiques emporium. Really great find.

We were a party of ten little old ladies who had booked Afternoon Tea. As the weather was fine Chris very kindly suggested we have the lovely gazebo table which was perfect for our group. It was good that we were able to choose which sandwich we each wanted and the cakes were simply scrumptious. The waiting staff ensured we had plenty of tea and coffee. We were extremely well looked after and all our party thought it was exceptional value for money. Many thanks Chris and team for looking after us so we’ll.

Just a few words to say how much we all really enjoyed our stay at Wolds Village to celebrating my mum's 80th birthday, we started our weekend with lunch, lovely homemade scones, locally sourced bread. Chris and the front of house team were very friendly and looked after us, nothing was too much trouble. My Mum was especially pleased with the surprise birthday cake that Sally the chef made. All the bedroom were individually themed, which was fun and the kids loved finding a key clue in the bedroom to start them off on treasure hunt around the grounds. We had dinner in the restaurant which you could not fault, the food was all home cooked and Chris served with style. Thanks again and we will be back.

We stayed here last night 8th September to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary and it was wonderful. The prosecco was chilling in our room when we arrived as I had requested. We had the Tudor room with 4 poster bed and it was so comfy. We had to pre order the evening meal and breakfast and state the time required which I didn't mind, there was no waiting around when in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the portion sizes very good. Everyone that we came into contact with was so friendly and helpful. There is a lovely garden to walk round with a small maze too. Would defo go back again.

I've been here for meals lots of times. The food is a good standard. It's usually a real treat to come here, however our last visit was so poor in terms of service. Initially it was fine, however we were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We said yes, and waited and waited and waited. I gave up and went and got a menu. Despite being told they would come and get our order we waited another 10 minutes. Gave up, paid and went home. They weren't overly busy and there was quite a few staff standing about at times. So disappointing.

We had a lovely sandwich lunch. Ham sandwich, coleslaw and excellent coffee which should result in a 5 star rating. However, because the waitress service was so poor I have rated Wolds Village as 3. The watress 'dumped' the first tray of coffee onto our table tray and all, and left it there. Shortly after another tray appeared with the same 'dumping' action with food atop. Am I being over demanding to expect the cups and plates to be removed and placed on the table when waitress service is the norm?

Only one of the waiting staff appeared to have an ounce of customer service, a lovely lady who actually smiled and looked like she wantedto help. Finally when it came time to pay we were not offered a receipt so have no idea what we paid for and we felt overcharged. Although the food was very good, well presented and good portion size, in my opinion it was vastly overpriced. We had one main course for myself and one backed potato for my partner, and I also had a latte. Total bill was over £31.00. I certainly wouldn't go back at those prices.

A warm and welcoming establishment, that serves delicious food at a reasonable price. The stuffed chicken breast was extremely good. I can also recommend the excellent range of desserts.

Came for lunch on a recommendation and wasn't disappointed - the steak pie was delicious and glancing at the other plates confirmed reports of HUGE Yorkshire puddings! The food was lovely and the staff very friendly. Combined with the restaurant is a shop and gallery that is worth a look around. Will definitely be going again and will maybe eat in the courtyard if the weather is agreeable.

My wife and I visited the Wolds Village to meet up with a long lost friend. It turned put to be a great venue for us, equal distance from our respective homes in North Yorkshire and East Yorkshire. On entering we were met with a friendly greeting though not being aware we should have booked a tablewe were informed that all the tables in the front conservatory were reserved and shuffled off into a back room very brightly lit. The menu was quite comprehensive and we chose fillet of place x2 and a salmon salad. All the meals were delicious and well priced. Our only observation was that albeit the staff generally buzzed around quite speedily and were generally very friendly, I think we got the one having a bad day , hard to get her attention and seemingly in her own world. Nevertheless we had an excellent lunch ,paid a fair price and would definitely go again and recommend to our friends- though make sure to reserve a table!!

We stopped in on a Tuesday late afternoon. There was only one table occupied so it was nice and quiet. We both had double scoop cones. There were loads of ice cream flavours to choose from. Yummy.

We booked into the lodges next to the Gardeners Inn and decided to walk around for dinner & drinks. The venue is decorated for Halloween which I did enjoy and we had a lovely welcome from the waitress. A few item were sold out but the menu was plentiful and the food did not disappoint. I had the sizzling hunters chicken and my partner had Korean Chicken. Portion size was fantastic the side salad & slaw was fresh, definitely the best hunters chicken I’ve had. Banoffee Pie & cream for dessert again it was better than any other I’ve tried. Lovely atmosphere, service time felt right for the number of tables eating and the price was reasonable. Would recommend 100%

First visit to this lovely little restaurant to celebrate 🍾 both Mother’s Day and my wife's 60th birthday and we were not disappointed! The setting in the window table with background music and plenty of space was perfect. We ate off the a la carte menu and we both had three courses complimented by a bottle of fizz. Each course was food heaven and the service was exceptional so we will be returning for the Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday in April. Thank you
