We visited here a few times back pre-pandemic when there was a cafe in situ, whereas now it operates purely as a take-away bakery (although there are often some 'heat-at-home' meals available too). They also have regular market stalls at Beverley and Cottingham. The chef is an absolute wizard. I've never sampled better baked goods anywhere in the world. Honestly the dacquoise is as close to a spiritual experience one can achieve. Cannot recommend highly enough. Taste and textures all completely en pointe.

Embarrassingly I have lived nearby for many years and must have walked past this little gem a hundred times! A friend at work told me about the hand made pastries and tarts and I had friends coming over so I popped in and got a pear tart and a white chocolate meringue dessert. Both were absolutely delicious and I thought they were really reasonably priced too given that they are hand made each day. Will definitely be back for more :)

Read the reviews, fancied some nice coffee and French baking to takeaway. Chocolate croissant a bit stale, peach and vanilla custard pastries very stale, in fact so poor they went in the bin. Pecan tart was good. Coffee, poor, lacking flavour, no better than instant. All in all a waste of money. Will not be returning. V.disappointed!

I decided to order a box of patisseries for my boyfriend’s birthday. I Facebook messaged the page with my requirements and what type of patisseries my boyfriend likes. One of the lovely staff Nicky informed me they can make boxes for any amount of patisserie, and asked how many I would like in a box. She also asked if there is anything in particular I was looking for. The patisseries change each week, so she offered to let me know when the week’s menu was available. I had a hard time choosing from a coffee, pear and chocolate opera, a chocolate and orange opera, pistachio dacquois, honey and rosemary cheesecake, black forest gateau, raspberry gateau, and mango + coconut snowballs. TC also have a selection of tarts that are available every day. I decided to order a box of 4 patisseries: a strawberry tart, a coffee, pear and chocolate opera, a mango and coconut snowball, and a honey and rosemary cheesecake. My boyfriend has tried the strawberry tart (and chocolate tart) before and really likes them, but I wanted to order some puddings he hasn’t tried before as a nice surprise! It paid off as he really enjoyed everything! The snowballs contain meringue and desiccated coconut, and are a really interesting pudding, I recommend trying this if you haven’t before. A lovely young girl in the cafe commented that she had been made aware the order was for a birthday present, and asked if I would like the box gift wrapping. She did a beautiful job. I was very pleased with all the puddings and I recommend to other customers to place an order for collection! You won't be disappointed.

Whilst sadly the cafe will not be reopening on 4th July- just so small to have any meaningful self distancing - they have been doing a collection and delivery service for take away food. Top quality stuff that looks great and tastes amazing. It is much more than a patisserie and offers main course meals too. Owner is delightful and so accommodating and has actually asked clients if they would like to see specific items in stock and she will try to source. I do hope that before long they will be able to open up the cafe again and bistro in the evenings. A lovely little business that is weel worth supporting. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve tried and thoroughly enjoyed afternoon tea, coffee and cakes, Monday dinners and take away quiches and super desserts and yet I am still surprised. I had brunch for the first time recently and was delighted. The all-day breakfast menu is first class, the choice extensive, the taste wonderful and all at reasonable prices. I went for the bacon and egg breakfast basket at £6.95. It takes a little while to prepare as it is baked in the oven but it is well worth waiting the few extra minutes. You get two baskets each consisting of a home-made bread base, the sides are constructed with crispy bacon and an egg is placed in the centre. The dish is baked and served with hollandaise sauce. A delicious surprise! The Monday evening dinners are wonderful too. You book in advance and the cost is £29.95 and you bring your own booze. Unfortunately, my wife is unable to attend on health grounds, so I asked if it was possible to order the dinner as a take-away meal and was pleasantly surprised when the proprietors readily agreed. We enjoyed at home a wonderful meal of canapes, King Prawn Crepes with sweet chilli sauce, Beef Carbonnade with vegetables and a beautifully presented Assiette Gourmande. This was that part of the menu that best worked as a take-away but if you eat on the premises you have a greater menu choice and coffee, or tea is additionally included. The third surprise was that in addition to the dinners, there is also a dessert club get together, also on a Monday night at 7.30. This consists of a savoury starter followed by seven different patisseries served throughout the evening. Well worth considering if you have a sweet tooth.

I came with my neighbour for brunch and we both had the intriguing breakfst basket, which was a bottom layer of bread, the "basket" around the sides was crispy bacon and an egg in the middle and it is then baked in the oven and served with hollandaise sauce-delicious. I got a tea for two voucher for my birthday and we visited last Saturday. We have had afternoon tea before in January 2016 and visited a couple of times after that, but not for at least 2 years now, although we have bought some of their items from various food markets in the East Riding of Yorkshire. I rang up and asked if they had any availability for the Saturday, and if we could come for 2pm. I was advised it’s ‘first come first served’ and that they don’t take bookings, and they had a party in at 2.30 for afternoon tea. We got there just after 2pm and there were 2 tables free. (Although I cannot understand why I was told it was first come first serve, but the party that arrived at 2.30 pm was a party of 11, they were able to book a table (there was reserved signs on it.) I am guessing the staff don’t want to lose out on the extra money) For my drink, I had a pot of peppermint tea. The tea for two comes on a 3 tier stand, a choice of 3 sandwiches on the bottom (we had cheese, salmon and ham), we had plum brioche and provencale croissants on the middle tier, and the top tier had a lemon tart and chocolate desserts. All of the food was delicious as always. I particularly enjoyed the salmon sandwiches. The café was very hot and steamy, I found it helped when they left the door open, but other guests kept closing it when arriving/leaving. I bought a pear tart, and a cheese tart from the counter to take away. We would come again!

I have rate TC Patisserie for excellent food to take away, great monthly evening meals and smashing afternoon teas but I continue to be pleasantly surprised. Over the Christmas period my grandsons and myself were tempted by some wonderfully Christmas- themed extra goodies. There was the traditional Yule log, moist and flavoursome. If you like a full-on chocolate fix, just look at the cake in the shape of an old Swiss mountain chalet. Beautifully presented, rich, indulgent and best shared. The same is true of the attractive yellow, candle cake on a chocolate base and the Christmas bauble cake. Both are quite large and ideal for sharing. These treats really brightened up Christmas and are ideal for taking home.

We wanted somewhere quiet and quick for lunch: though there had been people in for coffee when we glanced in earlier, it was empty when we returned. We had, despite being the only people eating, a very long wait, even though there were three people on hand. My partner's sandwich was fine, but I had the special and it arrived almost burnt on the outisde and still raw and cold in the middle. If this was a big commercial operation, I'd have given it one star, but this this a family cafe and I suspect the cakes are excellent. A bit amateurish, all round: the front window was running with steam and the lads serving didn't seem confident of what they were doing, didnt know about the specials, weren't communicating with each other. Disappointed.

The Monday evening dinners held twice or thrice per month are smashing but my wife’s mobility is limited and she has not been able to participate. To rectify this, I asked whether we could order two of the dinners as take-aways to be eaten at home. The request was accepted and I took a large insulated box to TC Patisserie on the Saturday and it was passed out to me in the car at 6.30 pm on the Monday. Parking at the entrance only took a couple of minutes. Everything was efficiently packed and labelled except for the main dishes that would not fit into the box. These were therefore put on plates and covered carefully in foil.

I love this small independant cafe in Beverley, we travel from our home in Hull just to visit once or twice a month on a Saturday! Personally, I find chain coffee shops to serve coffee in huge cups but it usually tastes like dishwater to me. The coffee at TC Patisserie, whilst served in much smaller cups, tastes so much better, I always go for the TC Blend caffetiere as you can get 2 or 3 cups out of that. But the cakes are what makes it well worth a trip - they're so delicious and light so you don't even feel like you've eaten too much afterwards. And if you can't decide what to have and wish to really treat yourself, go for the Assiette Gourmande option to sample 3 separate cakes - good for sharing too. I usually have this! They also do lunches, breakfasts, afternoon teas and special evenings (which are bookable in advance). Staff very good too. My only minor gripe is that being small with the kitchen out the back, it can get very warm but that can't be helped and if it's particularly hot, they do put the fan on. Probably best avoided on a hot summer's day but it's mostly fine so go and enjoy!

The sandwiches were superb, the bread fresh and tasty. I liked the Coronation Chicken and Smoked Salmon with Cream Cheese particularly. You can order alternatives if required. There were no scones which was hardly surprising but both the savoury and sweet croissants were delicious, as were the cakes. You can have either tea or coffee. This is a very small cafe with an amazing range of meals and cakes at extremely reasonable prices. I had a delicious omelette and my partner the all day breakfast which he praised highly. My only gripe is that like many cafes and restaurants the sound of chairs scraping across the floor is horrendous and painful. I wear 2 hearing aids and have to turn them right down to block out the noise (makes conversations with my other half difficult!). I know that cafes need hard floors to make cleaning easier but it would be so easy to put felt discs on the bottom of chairs to deaden the sound. I hope that all cafes and restaurants would take this into consideration to make our dining experience more enjoyable.

It’s a small establishment, easily missed, a tad tight with not many tables and it doesn’t have a licence so you need to bring your own booze but it packs a punch well above its weight. It serves excellent food to take away, wonderful cakes, great lunches and first-class afternoon teas but its Speciality Evenings, twice or thrice monthly are absolutely smashing and such great value at £29.95 per guest. You get, for instance, canapes on arrival, a starter, main course, desert, coffee and petit fours. To give you an idea my daughter chose French onion soup and loved it. I had a delicious fish risotto and for the main course veal or duck were on offer. Cheesecake or chocolate mousse was available for dessert. All the desserts were beautifully presented, very tasty and the service was friendly and very efficient. We cannot get there early but were still able to eat from 8.00 pm. Four of us had breakfast here. We were gazing at the cakes when the owner came along the road & started chatting. He was so friendly we decided to come back later. Glad we did. Good variety of breakfast on offer & all beautifully presented. The scones are wonderful too. Only downside - the coffee is VERY expensive. Would definitely go there again though, fancy trying it for tea & cake.

Visited on recommendation of a friend. Nice little cafe with friendly staff. This place is VERY warm, even with ceiling fans on.Partner had full English and I had chicken goujons with chips and salad. Was a bit surprised to only get 5 chips, so maybe a little overpriced. However it was all cooked nicely and the tea was nice, hot and strong. We were going to buy a pastry or cake to take with us but there was very little choice so didn't bother.Would recommend giving it a try but not if you are really hungry.

We booked here for afternoon tea, the decor of the premises is 'quaint'. The afternoon was not particularly warm but the heat in the cafe was stifling, even though they have two ceiling fans this only serves to circulate the warm air, even though the front door was open. The staff are really friendly and attentive but we were slightly let down by the actual food. The food was well presented but both saucers were stained, the sandwich fillings were really delicious and tasted very fresh but the artisan type bread was clearly soft and fresh first thing this morning but by afternoon it was slightly dried. The croissants were again slightly dry but were probably softer this morning. The final sweets were lovely and they were happy to top up the tea pots with hot water. While a nice experience it was not what we expected.

TC Patisserie cooks good food and is popular. Make sure you book to avoid disappointment. The snag with the place is that it is so small and really needs bigger premises. Eating co dictionary are somewhat cramped. The food is wonderful though, continentally inspired, uncomplicated but delicious.

I've never eaten a 'meal' here, although they do look delicious. This is the place to go in Beverley when you want to do tea and cakes with a 'wow', at 'phew' prices. I say tea and cakes, but I always go for the hot chocolate which is gorgeous, and the coffee is proper french craft beverage, none of that coffee chain gimmicky stuff. If you want a delicious hot drink and some of the most amazing cakes in Beverley, come here. If it's a birthday or a special occasion, whisper it to the person at the counter, and your cake (or your friend's cake), when it arrives, will be adorned with a special message, at no extra cost. I've taken my mum here, I've taken my daughters here, I've had girly gossip catchup afternoons here, I've been on dates here. If i want a cup of tea, there's dozens of lovely cafes here. But when I want a special meet up, with a wow factor,(and it's not expensive) I go here. Order a slice of any of the cakes and you'll see what I mean. You won't' be disappointed. But you do have to find the place first. The french are cunning like that.

This is a hidden gem. Called in for lunch with my sister, who isn't local and she couldn't believe the quality of the food for the price. I've been quite a few times before so wasn't surprised at how tasty our salads were and the accompanying homemade bread was to die for. Love this place.

We love Beverley and always come to this little eatery, when we have finished shopping. The food is tremendous, always something different on The Special Board. Today we had Pan fried Sardines on a bed of Sautered potatoes, and home made salmon fishcakes. It was amazing. We often have the steak pie with veg, but decided to buy one and have it for lunch tomorrow. we can certainly recommend this quaint eatery. Service with a smile and a lovely welcome from the owners.

Our first visit to this little eatery and it won't be our last. Invited by friends to join them for one of the Patisserie's speciality dinner evenings. The food was excellent from the canapes via the starter, through the main course and ending with the sweet. Portion sizes were just right and one was left comfortably replete Service was excellent and the evening was further enhanced by a large slice of humour from the chef.Only slight niggle, which has nothing whatsoever to do with the food, is that it was absolutely roasting in the restaurant and it could do with some fans/air con units.Overall a super evening and we look forward to eating there again

TC Patisserie was recommended by a lady who lives in Beverley as her favourite cafe. I can see why. She warned me it was a popular small establishment but we arrived mid-morning to find only one other table occupied. The young waiter took our order of 2 americanos, a chocolate tart and a chocolate and raspberry gateau. The cakes disappeared into the kitchen to emerge on a decorated plate. Quite an artistic and original touch! Well, it is owned by a frenchman, hence the name!My pastry was exquisitely light and really did melt in my mouth. My husband enjoyed his gateau, too.The coffee was good despite the waiter placing it on a rocky table causing some to spill in the saucer but he quickly attended to it.I do like French cafes and the walls displayed paintings of French scenes, there was advertising for boules and all things French. As we enjoyed our cakes people popped in to buy sandwiches to take out but you could eat lunch in later or sample afternoon goodies! We shall certainly return next time we're in Beverley even though it is one of many coffee shops within walking distance of the centre. After you have enjoyed your coffee break walk the delightful streets and squares. The Minster is a stone's throw away and open to the public. There are some really good shops, too. I popped into Lakeland and Mint Velvet, browsed The Body Shop and spotted M & S along with plenty of classy jewellers!Parking could be a problem. We arrived on a Friday morning and had been advised that Tesco allows 3 hours free parking. It was a very popular parking area but we managed to find a space. It's an easy walk into the centre. This was my first visit to Beverley but I really loved it. For horse racing enthusiasts there's also the lure of the race course! It's a pretty town which provides for all kinds of tourist needs!

We called in for lunch today having been impressed by the patisserie on offer on their stall at the Hornsea Carnival last weekend. The cafe is small but cosy. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered the Eggs Royale and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Both were delicious. For dessert we chose a chocolate tart and a chocolate/lime tart. Again both were delicious and beautifully presented with pastry that was light, crisp and melted in the mouth. We will be visiting again as there were many more dishes on the menu we want to try!

I have been here a number of times now and each experience has been a delight. The restaurant is very simple and homely in appearance but everything that comes out of their kitchen is made with skill and attention to detail The service is friendly and efficient..We went for breakfast this morning. Every single customer had something gorgeous on their plate: the Scandinavian breakfast, eggs Benedict , gorgeous sweet and savoury pastries as well as traditional British style breakfasts. The teas and coffees are all wonderful too. And everything very reasonably priced. A wonderful family run business that will bring some culinary magic to your day!

Visiting Beverley, we tend to eat here as the food is always excellent and no scrimping on the portions either! There is a wide variety of dishes both for small and large appetites and various beverages: but do try the excellent coffee!Aptly named as a patisserie; the cakes, bread and sweets are scrumptious! This patisserie would do well anywhere but it all adds to Beverley's charm!

We booked into the lodges next to the Gardeners Inn and decided to walk around for dinner & drinks. The venue is decorated for Halloween which I did enjoy and we had a lovely welcome from the waitress. A few item were sold out but the menu was plentiful and the food did not disappoint. I had the sizzling hunters chicken and my partner had Korean Chicken. Portion size was fantastic the side salad & slaw was fresh, definitely the best hunters chicken I’ve had. Banoffee Pie & cream for dessert again it was better than any other I’ve tried. Lovely atmosphere, service time felt right for the number of tables eating and the price was reasonable. Would recommend 100%

First visit to this lovely little restaurant to celebrate 🍾 both Mother’s Day and my wife's 60th birthday and we were not disappointed! The setting in the window table with background music and plenty of space was perfect. We ate off the a la carte menu and we both had three courses complimented by a bottle of fizz. Each course was food heaven and the service was exceptional so we will be returning for the Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday in April. Thank you
