Just watched Beauty & The Beast. It was throughly enchanting and wonderfully acted with an interesting concept. The staff were very helpful and made our 1st visit to the theatre welcoming, Terry's likened to a naughty Elf!
We would definitely recommend the Panto for all ages and the theatres facilities. Delicious Icecreams 😋

Thank you Michael and all the staff at the Yorkway motel, our stay was excellent from the moment we checked in, can't wait for another visit hopefully soon
A wonderful two night stay. The staff were very friendly and professional. The restaurant dinner was excellent. We shared a porterhouse steak for the main course which was cooked to perfection. We will definitely return.
Fantastic beers!! Also great, knowledgeable, friendly and obliging bar staff. Really appreciated the warm welcome and got advice on beer choice. Thanks 👍

Great food, drinks, and staff, but an uncomfortable experience with management
I've visited JJ's Bar and Restaurant a few times before, especially since we love staying in the lodges nearby, and it’s always been a solid experience. The food is fantastic, the drinks are top-notch, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. On this occasion, however, things were slightly overshadowed by an unfortunate interaction with who I can assume was the manager on Saturday night.
While we were dining, he loudly reprimanded a staff member right in front of several tables, which created a tense atmosphere. It made my table, along with a few others around us, feel really uncomfortable. In fact, one group chose to sit outside (in January!) just to get away from the situation. Another comment from the same man, after we mentioned we hadn’t been served yet, was “I’ll slap whoever it is.” This only added to the uneasy feeling.
I understand that managing a busy restaurant can be stressful, having worked as a bistro manager myself. But I’m not sure if this particular individual could use some additional training in handling staff and maintaining a positive atmosphere, especially in front of customers. Despite this, I have to give props to the rest of the team — the chefs, the servers, and everyone else — for their excellent service and food.
Overall, I’ll definitely return, as this experience was more of an isolated incident. Hopefully, the management team can take a step back and reassess how to better handle pressure situations going forward.
Lovely Sunday lunch at great prices in our local pub.
Reasonable wine prices (and French to boot), great beer and lagers and superb roast dinner (beef, pork or turkey). Not to mention my pâté starter.
We didn’t have room for a dessert. Next time! Thanks team.
From the selections we made from the menu everything was perfect, in particular the calamari, cooked to perfection. To match the calamari the service was to the same standard. We can recommend without hesitation and will return. Thanks very much for an excellent dining experience.
If they put their prices online I would have not visited. An Americano and a ham and cheese toastie nearly twelve pounds! For that price I am used to choosing what type of bread it comes with? Sourdough or granary etc but it came on some bread that was just meh, a small handful of crisps and a rocket salad. Nothing special, the coffee was very weak IMO and tasted rather drip coffee. The cakes did look delicious but again the prices were astronomical. Perhaps they’re specialists and cater to a niche market? If you’re planing to go with two or three friends expect to part with fifty to sixty pounds for a coffee and/ or cake or toastie. I didn’t notice how much the jacket potatoes were but I’ll have a guess they’re not reasonably priced.

Our first time back in many years, having moved back to the area. The staff are friendly and nicely accommodated our two little dogs and our baby boy. Nothing was too much to ask for, on our first visit we tried the festive specials and more recently this new year the traditional breakfast, all delicious and home cooked. Amazing choice of unusual drinks too, love the cherry beer 👍🏼

Visited this place many times and usually all ok BUT when myself my wife and our granddaughter visited today (sat 22/02/25 )one of your staff was so bad mannered as we entered we waited downstairs for a table at this time some customers was leaving and left the door open so one of the staff looked at me and said in a loud voice CLOSE THE DOOR my answer was I didn't,t leave it open I would have closed the door but only with a please a member of staff with a bad attitude that's going to cost you customers.
I’ve been several times with my walking group and it’s one of my favourite places to stop!
Always welcoming and the food is fresh and delicious. I’m told the scones are the best around (and we visit a lot of tearooms!)
They are always very accommodating when I message to book for walkers, reserved for 10 persons the other day!
Most recently I had the tuna melt panini and it’s amazing.
I’d recommend booking if you want to be sure of a table at this popular tea room.
