Great local bit welcomes outsiders like myself real friendly people 👏 🙄

Stopped off at nearby cl site on way to Cadwell park. Popped in for a quick pint and possibly some eats. Pub very welcoming so had to view the menu. I went for the Yorkshire pudding with liver and onions as the wife hates it. It's a real treat for me and was cooked to perfection. She had the gammon, also up to a high standard!! Will be visiting again.

We first visited this excellent community pub and called again on our next trip. It is very friendly and welcoming staff and customers. Good food at very reasonable prices. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday carvery dinner here, the beef was cooked perfectly and great portions. Friendly and welcoming and the cheesecake was one of the best we’d ever had!

Sunday lunch, a carvery, is really excellent. Very generous portions - I recommend pork and beef 'bit of both' plus the horseradish and superb gravy. Yum! Can't do it at home for two at the price. Dogs are very welcome, and our border loves it at the B&S. His jedi mind powers (cute deprived look) usually gets results. The best Theakstons outside of Masham. 10/10 😉👍

Best carvery in a long time, nicely cooked and good size portions. Friendly welcoming staff, would definitely recommend.

Amazing little pub. We went for fish and chip night whilst holidaying near by. Staff were really friendly and the food was great and good value for money. Hoping to go back soon.

Lovely little Pub, just called when passing, very friendly landlord and really nice village

We stopped in here on our way back home after the village fayre day for quick refreshment. It was a beautiful sunny day and there was a lady offering out free ice lollies to cool everyone down such a nice touch 👌

Decor is rustic,but friendly atmosphere, very good service and food.Competitively priced.

Love it here. Honest grub at sensible prices and the friendliest service you could wish for who are absolutely great with children. Save room for pudding!

What an excellent pub. We stumbled actroos this pub when lost after getting off the bus at the wrong stop in the middle of nowhere . A massive thank you to Lauren behind the bar, Robert who kindly shared his taxi driver and Don for taking us back to our holiday home! Lovely to see there are kind people in our world xx

Was driving by and decided to stop for Sunday roast. Very friendly and accommodating. Very generous with portions of beef and pork. Roasted tatties were Aunt Bessie's as were the Yorkshire puddings....in Yorkshire.... that is sacrilege!! Offered horseradish and apple sauce for both of us in 2 little sauce cups like you use for ketchup at McDonald's!! Too tight me thinks. Please sort these bits out and your on to a winner.

Lovely little local pub in a set back area of North Yorkshire. Even though we're slowly eating out of lock down they still kindly offered me gluten free gravy and Yorkshire puddings at their Sunday carvery. Friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Lovely quaint village pub. Nice to find a traditional independent pub with authentic decor. Food was very reasonably priced and hearty portions. Staff couldn't have been more friendly.

I am sure it is a great village pub, but went for a lunch time drink, supposed to be open 12-5pm but all shut will try again later.

Very friendly pub, they make every effort to be a centre for the village community. There are various events: local market, coffee mornings, board games, quizzes...

Lovely meal, prompt friendly service, lovely Theakstons bitter. (Beer of the Gods) and gravy bones for the dog! Perfect.

Good home cooked food nice clean pub

First time for Sunday lunch we are disappointed after reading reviews meat was very dry as if had been left out and a frozen Yorkshire pudding was expecting a proper Yorkshire
