On a cool but sunny Sunday morning Cafe V was doing a roaring trade with lots of customers inside and also at the tables outside. It was lovely inside with lots of tables for two and nicely decorated with a variety of artwork. So much choice in the cake cabinets! My husband had a slice of what has to be the largest custard ever made!😹 In theory I wasn’t having any cake myself but I ended up helping my husband to eat his custard… Pleasant and efficient staff; will be back!

Pequeño restaurante encantador en el casco antiguo. Menú refrescante que ofrece más de lo habitual lasaña, hamburguesas etc. La comida fue disfrutada por todos y el personal era amable y servicial. Solíamos venir mucho cuando Ellie Mae volvía en su día y me preocupaba un poco que me decepcionara... ¡pero qué equivocado estaba! La comida era deliciosa y los postres divinos.

Segunda visita aquí y los mejores fish and chips de la zona. Porciones de gran tamaño tan sabrosas. Encantador lugar dirigido por la familia muy amable. Gran relación calidad-precio!

We had 3 wonderful nights here over the Easter break. Cleanliness, staff and food were all excellent. Especially the Proper Pie!

After visiting for food was really surprised to see that the place has recently received a food hygiene rating 1 I would not expect this from such an establishment

Very poor quality of food and level of service for the price.

Simply JJs Allerthorpe Golf Club. This has been our daughter's wedding weekend. She married locally, and a number of our family guests stayed in the lodges. As a very central location for all our guests who were all staying in the area, we asked JJs if they could provide a buffet brunch for our close friends and family the morning after the wedding itself - just to prolong the party for a bit longer! JJs did this for us, providing the most wonderful cooked brunch for 41 of us, allowing us all to 'eat out' on our marvellous day. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Thank you so very, very much.

From the selections we made from the menu everything was perfect, in particular the calamari, cooked to perfection. To match the calamari the service was to the same standard. We can recommend without hesitation and will return. Thanks very much for an excellent dining experience.

Lovely Sunday lunch at great prices in our local pub. Reasonable wine prices (and French to boot), great beer and lagers and superb roast dinner (beef, pork or turkey). Not to mention my pâté starter. We didn’t have room for a dessert. Next time! Thanks team.
