The best restaurants in Craven Yorkshire and The Humber

The worst beef sandwich, really chewy , dry . Staff rude and was not a very welcoming . Was not asked if our food was ok . Positive , clean toilets.

We stayed for two nights and our room was unexpectedly upgraded, so we had a large space, comfy bed and magnificent views across the Dale. The hosts were friendly and really helpful, giving us tips on local walks etc. We ate there for one night and had a delicious homemade cottage pie and steak and kidney pudding. The pub itself is warm, welcoming and full of traditional features. A really lovely place in the heart of Yorkshire. We really recommend it!

Excellent country pub. We have visited several times over the last 3 months and each time the food and service has been fantastic. Our grandson has dairy and soy allergies. The chef and landlady were extremely helpful in offering an ice cream that had neither ingredients. The menu is very clearly marked for allergies which is brilliant. I also eat lower carb and they are happy to accommodate my requests. It has a lovely cosy ambience and the staff were friendly and helpful and there is a really good range of drinks both alcoholic and non. I can’t wait to go in summer and sit on the beautiful roof terrace. Thank you Dog & Gun staff and well done. We will be back soon.

Lovely pub, fantastic friendly service and great food! What more could you want or need?! We had a big dog with us and they were great with him, giving him treats and attention, we also asked to move near the fire and they moved tables to accommodate our party of 5... really lovely pub, next time we visit Yorkshire we will be back!

Took almost an hour to be served with the worst mac and cheese I've ever tasted. A big busy pub that only appeared to have 3 people working in it. Won't be back.

Online menu offers a selection of hot beverages. Staff said they do not serve tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. Staff very rude so all 5 of us left. Seemed odd that a hotel would not serve these on a cold wet December day. It will put us off going there again.

Superb food and service. The food at Aagrah is the best I've had. Utterly delicious. Went for vegetable Madras: without doubt, the very best I've ever had. Great service throughout. Very highly recommended.

The service we received during a very busy teatime was amazing, we ordered the pizzas and they were better than anything you would find in a local restaurant, our drinks both ordered at the bar and using the app were served promptly and by very accommodating staff, huge shout out to the bar manager Conor. All in all a great experience and we can highly recommend this place.

Not really the best idea to be cocky and rude to locals when your pubs on its backside as it is, awful landwoman, hopefully shuts and gets new people to run it as a friendly local pub like it's been in the past

Sophia is excellent at the bar and serving food. She's a credit to the buisness. Very friendly. Also great food great service. Set next to a canal. So as your eating you see barges passing. Best around great price too. Wonderful layout. Davie 😇

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, we both had the black and blue smashed burgers. Lovely staff and great atmosphere. Wish we'd found this place in the first night of our visit to Skipton and not the last.

Absolutely disgusting, asked for a chip butty plus other things, arrived home there was four quarters of brown bread under the chips, they never even said they had no rolls Terrible service, terrible food

Great pub but very busy at weekends, great food, great location, and free to park the camper overnight, no complaints at all.

My daughter and I came for Sunday lunch and we had one of the best roast dinners. The food was piping hot, served efficiently and it was delicious. We will certainly return again.

We stayed for the May Day bank holiday weekend. This is a great location for walking in the Yorkshire dales. Room was nice but the jacuzzi bath was amazing. Suzanne and her husband clearly work really hard to produce nice food and look after their customers. My only thoughts is that they need more help and support. I don't think this is an independent pub .I think they are working so hard for someone else and I hope it's appreciated, they made are stay really good.
