Stayed one night in our Camper. All the staff were super friendly and there was a great atmosphere in the pub, the fire was roaring. It was really busy but we managed to get a table as they only allow groups of 6+ to reserve tables. The food was lovely. The views and walks are great. We would go back.

You come this far to see the viaduct and the windswept walk to get you there leaves you thankful that you had the jacket and cap! The walk back to the car and you discover the Station Inn and the atmosphere, warmth of greeting look of the menu and beer leaves makes it a must go to place!

Whilst the food was ok, the rest was pretty awful - smelly, unclean, poor service. If you want a quick pint this would be ok - anything more I would suggest to find an alternative venue.

After walking around the viaduct with our dog,we went into the pub which was fairly busy but there were tables available. We started by sitting on the end of a big table with another couple. We ordered food and drinks, but were then able to move to table 1 with a view of the path to the viaduct. Steak and Ale pie was lovely with veg and mash, washed down by a pint of Lager. Great atmosphere in the pub, with friendly staff…

A brilliant pub! The service from booking onwards was great. We were kept informed with emails and calls for booking dinner and to confirm any extras we may have needed. Used the bunkhouse which was perfect for our 8 strong group; inexpensive, clean and with all the basic facilities we needed for our group. Andy and Jono were great in the bar; service was great and they couldn’t do enough for our big group. Food was served quickly despite being busy and was delicious pub-food - and the perfect accompaniment to the beer we had earned after the Yorkshire Three Peaks. We’ll be starting and finishing here in the future rather than the usual Horton commencement. A Yorkshire gem.

Just popped in for some lunch after a walk around the viaduct and it was spot on. The last behind the bar was good crack and really welcoming. We managed to get a table for food which was reserved for 3pm, (we were there at 12 30) and ordered and some cracking food cake out really quickly and was delicious. We were asked to let the lady behind the bar know when we were finished as the 3pm group had arrived early, we were NOT rushed in the slightest they just wanted to make sure it didn't get taken. We moved as soon as we were done so they could get the table and the sound bloke serving came and told us we were more than welcome to have the table till 3, and was genuinely concerned we had been ushered off which wasn't the case. It made us feel like really valuable customers, and showed they weren't just interested in turning the tables over quickly. Lovely service, lovely food. Keep up the good work The flooring could do with changing (I own a flooring company, please get in touch 😁😁)

Uncoordinated with holding drinks, I managed to knock tags off the beer pumps thankfully it caused some humor and my embarrassment was minimal..Such a relaxing venue that we stayed for dinner and had the most amazing huge burgers,(accommodating the ‘no cheese’ please) best we have ever tasted. Eric enjoyed some local real ales and Poppy the dog biscuits and fresh water. So attentive were the staff and yummy food and ales that we returned after our trip up Ingleborough the following week - weren’t disappointed. We popped in here for lunch after a walk It was pretty busy and a bit warm inside so when we ordered, we were told that we would have to come in and collect our food when it was ready. No problem there so we started on our drinks in the pretty much deserted beer garden (They do have a marquee available too but it was closed on the day we went as the tables and chairs had all been repainted we were told - at least we knew) I think it was a bit noisy in the bar area as only one part of our food order was taken and to be honest, the price of the total bill told us we had only ordered one main meal but, when it arrived, it was massive and actually was almost too much for us to share. We had the fish sandwich - not a fish finger sandwich - this was a great slab of fish in a butty with some lovely salad on the side - amazing! We had ordered some chips alongside so to be honest, we were gizzened afterwards. We would have needed some assistance if we had actually ordered two main meals. The place was clean, the loos were fresh and clean too. The only issue we had was we thought it was raining onto our patio umbrella but it was a swarm of flying ants which the pub can hardly be held responsible. Afterwards, we went up the Ribblehead railway station and the flying ants were out in force there too. I m led to believe they only swarm for a day or stwo so unlikely to be an issue for anyone else. Would definitely return here

We ordered our drinks and asked if we could have a tab because we was going to order food once we had looked at the menu, " No problem " was the reply and the lady told us the soup of the day etc.We both ordered a starter and a mainSoup of the day was homemade vegetable curry which might sound a little strange but was the nicest soup I'd ever had. Drinks orders were taken immediately and delivered promptly. We could have eaten in the marquee, but they said they would try to get us inside. That was achieved within a short period of time and we ordered: haddock and chips plus Cumberland sausage in a giant Yorkie with mustard mash and vegetables. They did explain there was a 20 minute wait for food, but it didn’t feel that long before it arrived, plentiful and perfectly cooked. I and a group of friends visited this establishment during undertaking the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge. We entered the pub outdoor seating area with the intention of buying drinks and having our pre made packups. A young member of staff promptly came outside, saw we were eating our own food, made no issue of it whatsoever and started taking drink orders. She had served around half of the group and went indoors, she returned with an older member of staff who continued to take drinks orders. Upon completing around three quarters of the drink orders, she loudly, condescendingly and rudely announced to the entire group (in front of other customers) that we shouldn’t be eating our packups. She spoke to us in a way that was absolutely disgusting, degrading and embarrassing. The worst I have ever been spoken to in a customer service setting. She came over to me and asked if I wanted any drinks, to which I calmly said “not anymore after the way you’ve just spoken to our group”. She proceeded to wildly and aggressively shout at myself (in front of other customers) about us eating in the garden. (I did not say anything else as to calm the situation down as I felt she could become violent). She then proceeded to take more drink orders, nothing else was said from ourselves and she came back and shouted at myself again asking “if we were going to be funny with them”. We stayed for around 30 minutes and as we were about to leave the younger member of staff told us that we could not use their outdoor bins to dispose of our rubbish (a tiny amount may I add). The way we were spoken to and shouted at was absolutely disgusting, I have never had such a degrading and embarrassing experience. Firstly, there was no signs to indicate you could not eat there. Secondly, A members of staff clearly saw us eating and had no issue with it and proceeded to take drinks orders. Thirdly, we had no issues whatsoever in not eating if they didn’t want us to but they were so aggressively rude about it. Fourthly, paying customers don’t qualify for using their outdoor bins at this establishment, how poor is this?? For an establishment that gets a lot of trade from customers walking whernside, surely they would be happy to take a bit of your rubbish to save you keeping it with you all day? Obviously not!I rarely ever review establishments negatively as I would not like to affect people’s livelihoods through a review. However, the woman that spoke to us was likely a manager and I feel that she does not deserve further customers if that is the way she feels necessary to speak to people, she needs further training in customer service and the basic manners taught to people as a child, anger management classes wouldn’t go amiss either.

We were able to order our food when the drinks arrived, it then took around 20 minutes for the food to be served. My Son and I stayed here for a night, extremely comfy beds and warm open fires. The food was delicious and enjoyed a few pints of their own stout. The boiler had broken but it was still warm and comfortable, and they were hospitable enough to give us free accommodation and evening meal for the night to make up for the inconvenience. The staff are friendly and helpful too.

My wife and I stopped over in our campervan and where made to feel very welcome. We only bought drinks (their own Station Inn stout is ace) but were offered some sandwiches from a buffet - they were not your typical tiny triangles but chunky . Would have ordered 9ff the menu if I wasn't stuffed from the sandwiches. The place has two open fires and lots of different options for seating. It was redesigned last year and taken back over by the owners, so no more grumpy landlord. Love the place.

wwe visited here as part of out friend's birthday. 6 of the others stayed in the bunk house, we stayed at the B&B. The room was clean, big and had an amazing view of Whernside. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel really welcome. Had some great banter about rugby league and yes Bradford are better than the Rhinos!!. Ate here for dinner and the food was gorgoeus, very generous portions too. We then had our breakfast and again very nice. I have forgotten the name of the lady who took us to our room but she was very friendly and also chatted to us a lot the next morning. We are returning in March.

Woman behind the bar with an arm tattoo and glasses was very rude within seconds of us waking in the door. “What do you want?” The Black Sheep beer tasted nothing like black sheep and was flat and nasty tasting. Pub was empty but she made no effort to make us feel welcome and we chose to sit outside.

Went in after a wet walk up Pen Y Ghent, we had changed into dry gear but still in need of a bit of warming up. Sat by the fire with couple of lovely pints, fabulous ploughmans for two and a bowl of cheesy chips. Absolute belter and good value. Friendly staff, beautiful interior and hot coffees finished off a cracking visit to this pub.

We went out to see the viaduct on the day that Yorkshire experienced hailstones and the bridge was washed away. We escaped the rain in the pub just reading our books and drinking coffee. The staff are not gushing they are practical and were helpful. We were left alone, the barman explained to other visitors when they were cooking hot meals again and explained their dog policy (dogs were welcome as long as they were well behaved and didn't react to other dogs or people i.e. barking when someone walked in or at another dog). We spoke with them and agreed to return for dinner, taking a walk out to the viaduct. The meals were standard prices nowadays ranging from £10-15 but the portion size was massive.

A difficult one to write as everyone has high expectations after the change of management from the previously appalling one. I walked in and was surprised to see the same barman as a few months ago. Apparently he left with the previous landlord to go to the new pub but has now returned to the Station. He was a sight more welcoming than last time when he was refusing to give drinks in glass if we were going outside because he couldn't have glass thrown all over the road??? However no warm food as according to him the kitchen has been "condemned ", his exact words. The beer from Settle brewery is £3.95 a pint where it is £3.00 just about everywhere else in the valley, including at the New Inn at Clapham under their new management. The barman said that the price was due to extra travel charges from the brewery, something I know to be a porkie. The beer to be fair was decent even if obscenely expensive. This time the pub had at least got rid of Kerrang on the tv, the heavy metal channel that was blasting out last time. Pub still has no WiFi, no reading matter etc and is still not aimed at attracting locals, cavers, regular walkers back in. It seems aimed purely at the occasional visitor who won't complain about its shortcomings. Something other than a change of name above the door needs to happen before this pub again becomes the glorious spot it used to be. This will mean pricing, staffing (or at least some proper training for staff who are remaining from the previous managers) , and generally trying to lift the place out of the doldrums. If it stays the way it is now it will have more dreadful reviews, be totally lacking in local trade etc. A statement that there has been a change of management is just not enough. Sad because this used to be a local for me and was superb. It gives me no pleasure to write a poor review because nothing would give me more pleasure than to wholeheartedly recommend it. Time to pull your fingers out guys to get those good reviews.

Been to the station pub few years back before the new bar movement. Must same was better then . The ales were artful if I had gone outside and filled my glass up from a dog bowl it would have been better. And expensive to boot. My wife wanted half rice and chips with her chillie when I asked the land lady was quite rude NO YOU CAN NOT !! Also she wanted a coffee after her lunch . Chap behind the bar said . NO CHANCE ON A SATURDAY WHEN IT'S BUSY. ?? And he was rude said there's a Starbucks not far ???. He looked like he just got out of bed the scruffy sod. Food was ok . But it's a dirty place . floors dirty one of them places cause there's no were else close by they have you over a barrel with the prices of the drinks. Young lass behind bar coughing her guts up glade he wasn't serving the food . All in all not a great experience considering the amount of money we spent and the rudeness. Won't be returning much better places to spend our time and money .

After a long day out in the Dales, a group of us called here for a pint. We were somewhat taken back by the “greeting” we received on arrival, however after reading other reviews about the Station Inn as we travelled home on the train, we understood that was not unusual. It was however a fine pint of beer.

I stayed here on the second day of walking The Dales Way, the welcome wasn't the friendliest after walking all day in the pouring rain but at least I got a bunk for £15 which I thought was very cheap. Very standard room and not the comfiest mattress but that didn't really to me but I can see why it would to others.

£90 B&B; bed with bars/rails digging into me every 4 inches down my body all night - even after 15 miles of walking the Dales Way impossible to get a decent sleep. After the 3rd call to Alan, the owner of the pub, with me asking for a £25 refund (out of £90) and Alan not budging from offering a £10 refund, woefully inadequate given such a deteriorated mattress, I decided the only fair way is to let others thinking of staying there to avoid it at all costs and not make the 3-mile round trip deviation off the Dales Way. If you consider life too short to stay at an inadequate accommodation then it's much better to push on towards a B&B; along the Cowgill Road

Unfortunately, the worst meal I've ever had at a Weatherspoons. Gourmet steak for me and char grilled chicken for my wife. Both sent back as being tough and uneatable. I suspect these had been pre-cooked and warmed up. The replacements were marginally better but not much. Very dissapointed.

We came here not knowing any review or the place itself. We came on a Thursday evening about 6pm, were greeted politely and shown to a table. The server provided us with menus and came back five minutes later to take our order. Prices are reasonable, portions are a good size and the service and food were excellent. I don't always believe the odd negative review of Fish n Chip Restaurants as not all positive reviews are recorded, just the negative ones. We will definitely be returning when we are in the area again.

Waited over 15 minutes to get served a drink. One uninterested barman for over 70 people. Had pre-ordered our food . It was given to someone else. The management refused to replace it as the kitchen was about to shut. Very arrogant attitude. On the plus side, a good pint of beer. Ate next door at the very friendly Lister Arms.

We booked a table here the other night for 5.30 and we had the fish pie and lamb shank and a pint. Food arrived in good time. The portion sizes were huge and very tasty and only just fit on the plates. The food was definitely warm enough as it took a while to cool to eating temperature. The Fish pie had lots of fish and prawns in it aswell as a really delicious sauce and creamy mashed potato. The lamb shank was large and very tasty. Nice friendly staff. Very reasonable prices and good beer. Decor had a nice old fashioned pub charm which unfortunately you don't see anymore with bistro ponsy pubs everywhere. Not sure where all the negative reviews of this pub are from, probably by miserable customers who expect royal service and silver tableware but don't want to pay the price for it. Would highly recommend this family run pub.
