The best restaurants in Craven Yorkshire and The Humber

Ordered food via just eat and got a call from a very rude man within minutes of placing my £60 order saying that we are over 2 miles away so need to pay a delivery charge on arrival despite it saying free delivery of order over £20. He kept hanging up on us and was very very rude. I was on google maps and we was only 1.8 miles away from the restaurant but he continued to rant about he is too busy. I am just so glad I ordered on credit card as I will be doing a chargeback based on service/order not received as he has refused now to make our food. Never order with this place as service is well below the standard of any other place I have ever used.

Best part of £10 for a ham and cheese toastie ,and the weakest poorest hot chocolate ever experienced ,no cream no marshmallows ,no flavour ,toasties was just ok but how can it be wrong ,2 slices of bread toasted with ham and cheese (actually bought in product )captive audience and obviously know it

I received a Buy a gift voucher for £50 from me son, so I contacted the pub and asked if I could use the voucher and was told yes, contacted Buy a gift and they sent a e mail confirming, when I got to to pub I was told I had to contact a third party ???? In the end I was told I could only have a certain beer and to choose from a set menu and only to the value of £28 what a joke I will never visit the Black Horse in Skipton again, talk about making it difficult and they have also ripped me off of £22.😡😡😡😡

Haven’t been to Pizza Express for over 10 years…… won’t be going back. The food was dreadful! Sloppy pizza bases and undercooked starters. An expensive mess on a plate!

We dropped in at the end of our walk on the off chance we could get some food. The staff were super accommodating and seated 11 of us in the restaurant. The waiting staff were so lovely, customer service goes a long way and the two waitresses that served us were great! All 11 of us had our food come out together, it was fresh and hot! Just what we needed after 12 hours of walking! Coming on here to review I was very surprised by other reviews, as we had a lovely experience! Thank you for accommodating and feeding some very tired and hungry walkers!!

Shall we go away for the night? Yes we did and my husband found this little gem! Wholeheartedly we would stay again, warm reception from Mike the owner and the room was lovely, Loved the claw bath and the view out of the bedroom window was amazing

Visited mid week (9th Aug) to grab a takeaway, before I’d even stepped foot inside the shop a black B Class Mercedes drew up directly outside, boot opened and the driver pulled out a large clear bag (size of a bin bag) of raw chicken legs & thighs literally dripping/ leaking with blood and other raw chicken liquids (sorry). The boot liner was awash with leakage from the bag - no refrigeration in sight. The stuff of nightmares. A man appeared at the shop door (a chef?) in filthy clothes, the bag was carried across the pavement, up the steps, into the shop with a trail of chicken blood and raw liquid leaking everywhere - unbelievable. Further food and stock for the shop was retrieved from the contaminated car boot, whilst empty trays & boxes were put back into the car. Plus there were kids in the back seats! I have never seen so many hygiene contraventions so blatantly and so openly revealed in full view. Disgusting, frightening, unacceptable, dangerous. I attempted to speak to the person behind the counter to ask that they at least disinfect the shop floor and outside area but they ignored me!!! Avoid at all costs - I did, and have contacted Environmental Health. I like to support local business in Settle but not at any cost.

Called in with my wife. I normally don’t leave reviews but the two staff whom appeared to be owners were so rude. they have no idea of customer service . The attitude to me was bad but to another gentleman with a child was absolutely vile.

Great service and fantastic desserts... will deffo be visiting again... Battenburg Cheesecakes are AMAZING!

Had a pizza for a change from skipton it was really nice we had extra toppings lots of them will go there again . Better than some other takeaways

Usual slow service like all McDonald's these day's. Priority is given to the guys with delivery bags again like all McDonald's. Very infuriating when you've queued at the counter for 10 minutes. I also noticed the bins are back in the car park, looking and smelling lovely as well as taking 3 much needed spaces. Every other McDonald's manages to hide their bins away. We've actually driven away twice now as there was no parking anywhere near !!

Ordered scrambled egg on toast and I was disgusting. The eggs were like rubber and it was left on the hot plate after cooking for 3-4 mins because nobody would pick it up and bring too us. The staff have no get up and go. They walk past dirty tables leaving used crockery on the table so nobody else can sit there. Worse cafe ever been in.

Say open till 10 but was closed at 9 . Shouldn't have opening time if not going to honor them. Not the best ...............

Worst ever in 40 years - soggy white batter - rock hard cardboard chips - so bad it doesn't deserve 1 star - 6.70 down the drain - an absolute disgrace

Ordered food through just eat app, upon delivery sandwich missing and a steak bake and a free sausage roll. Tried ringing, just kept cutting of, no one answering, so one of us missed out on lunch, disgusting!!!!!!
