Pizza Express in Craven

Went for meal with 3 friends. After ordering, 2 meals arrived and then we were told we would have to wait about ten minutes for the other 2 meals so we started eating otherwise would go cold. One of the meals - prawn peperonata - eventually arrived but the pasta was hard, chewy, undercooked and cold. It also had a very strong flavour of garlic and chilli, not enjoyable but edible - the menu said a pinch of chilli flakes. Also concerned about the prawns being cold. My friend asked to return it and the rest of us started eating our food as it would have gone cold. We had all finished eating by the time my friend’s second pasta dish arrived. It was now piping hot and the pasta cooked properly. However, the flavour was extremely strong with garlic and chilli - to the point that it couldn’t be eaten. There was far more than a pinch of chilli flakes and it was far stronger than the previous dish which had been cold and hard. I tried 2 pieces of pasta and it was inedible with the overpowering flavour of garlic & chilli flakes. Because of this my friend couldn't eat the second plate of food either. The waitress was very apologetic & understanding, even though it wasn’t her fault, and said to my friend she was really sorry & it wasn’t nice for her. They didn’t charge for the 2 inedible meals and my friend ended up leaving the restaurant having not eaten anything at all - having been served 2 dishes which were inedible. I really don’t understand what is happening in the kitchens as the quality of food served was unacceptable and I have read other reviews of undercooked food. I have never been out for a meal before when somebody has been served 2 plates of inedible food and left a restaurant having not eaten. Definitely won’t be returning and it’s put me off going to any other Pizza Express now.

Absolutely shocking service. The waitress was borderline rude and didn’t smile once. It took over half an hour for one starter to come out, then another 40 minutes for our pizzas (which came 5 minutes after I asked how much longer it was going to be). My little boy ended up in tears as he was so hungry, and was so worked up he didn’t eat anything. No one asked us how the food actually was and then we were charged full price despite the terrible slow service. We usually love pizza express so really disappointing.

The service is a bit slow. Not the staffs fault though, there just wasn't enough of them for a busy night. The Pizza was very good when it arrived. Definitely worth a visit, but be patient.

I ordered lasagna & there was no meat in it at all!!! Just pasta & a sauce!!! We booked for 12pm & they had run out of chicken goujons! for my grandchildren. When I asked the waitress if they could just do a piece of chicken she said no as it's not on our computer system!!! Even though chicken was on the menu as part of other meals. It's expensive & a rip off. We will never go there again!

Ordered food as a take out. Sent a completely different order to our house. As I am gluten free couldn't eat any of it. Spoke to pizza express refused to sort the issue joke place. Do not order from them!

We visited yesterday a a group of three, and definitely won’t return. The welcome was poor. We waited whilst a table was prepared, right at the back of the restaurant and away from any other diners, which was strange. The drinks order was taken quickly, as was our food order. The food took almost an hour to arrive, despite there being only 8 other diners. We sent one pizza back as it was undercooked and definitely lacked toppings. To her credit, our waitress handled the situation well, but the whole experience was just sub-standard. Pizza Express isn’t exactly cheap and there are just so many similarly priced alternatives. We left feeling disappointed.

On arrival we were not greeted with a good evening or a hello, but with “ have you booked as there’s a wait on food”. We had booked. The restaurant was empty upstairs and about a third full downstairs. It’s a big restaurant. The staff were friendly and polite. The restaurant itself is nicely laid out and you can watch the chefs cook. The food was tasty but thank goodness we were using Tesco vouchers as it was expensive for what you got! The drinks are very over priced too, higher than other restaurants. I feel a few things need improving to make this a better spot to dine.

Pizza Express back on form again. After a nightmare last week at the Ely branch, the Skipton branch was excellent for lunch today. Good attentive service and the usual high quality pizza. Also a side order of Haloumi bites with a tomato dip.

Text: Having visited last year and left a damming review I decided yesterday to give it another chance . More fool me . Not much has changed . In brief We wanted olives in our calzones , waitress said not possible even though they had olives ! Apparently the system wouldn’t allow it or I suspect the Calzones are not made in the premises . Pizzas took nearly an hour 30 mins after ordering my daughter and grand daughter were told they had no pasta. Is this an Italian restaurant? Reminiscent of the cheese shop sketch Monty Python . Beers were warm . Manageress was ineffectual The Ilkley branch is a whole different story, well run and a lovely experience. This time we won’t be back .

Well, one word, ignominious…let that sink in. Garlic mushrooms served raw, when questioned taken away and came back 0.5 deg warmer but still not cooked. Selected the motherdays special and then when asked for the bill we were asked to calculate our own bill as the customer through one of their apps. Took over 20 minutes to escape the restaurant. Was then told pre paid vouchers didn’t apply to specials? Didn’t see this in the literature and also wasn’t briefed on this. Was them given a bill that was still incorrect but the voucher honoured. Avoid this amatuer eatery with what appears to be a poor operating model leaving their untrained and under resourced staff to deal with the embarrassment. The ladies were lovely and I felt sorry for them. Utter omnishambles from Pizza Express Skipton. Best Steve

Food and service very good, especially Vincentia who helped us navigate the app! Restaurant had a good atmosphere. Will definately be back.

Having been friendly at the beginning and found us a table for 6 plus a high chair, this sadly diminished when we all sitted. After deciding what pizza's we wanted to eat, nobody came to take our drink or food order for over 20 minutes. The staff waited on other customers that had seated down after us and did just ignore us. After this point we asked one young lady if she could take our order "one sec" and she never came over again. We then asked a young man who answered "one minute" and again completely ignored us after this request. After being ignored by the staff, which l found very rude, we decided to leave. Due to the rudeness of the staff this will certainly be one of the Pizza Express we will never return too. Manners cost nothing.

Lovely food, the lasagne was delicious and piping hot, the staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Vincenza!

We travel to many pizza express’ and this the best, thankyou to dan, alex, shane for an amazing meal as always, the trafford centre should take note…this is how to cook pizza !!

Great food - vicenza was brilliant as always - professional & friendly at the same time & makes us feel at home everytime

I went to Pizza Express with a friend who was visiting from London. We were greeted almost instantly at the door, given a choice of tables and given menus promptly. We noticed that they had an offer of free dough balls when you signed up to their app, which the staff very patiently explained what we needed to do to download and receive the offer. Being vegan, I like Pizza Express because it has so many options for me and for my non vegan friends. We ordered, the dough balls came which were delicious and were cleared away promptly after we finished. There was a little bit of a wait for the main course but it was delicious when it arrived. If you’re like my friend and I we didn’t really notice the wait as we were talking so much. We both opted for pizzas. For dessert we had a mini cake and coffee - perfect because we were full after the main. The service was professional and friendly, food delicious and the atmosphere very pleasant. I would definitely recommend if you’re in Skipton. ⭐️ Friendly, professional service ⭐️ Lovely restaurant ⭐️ Delicious food ➖ a bit of a wait for the main course ➖ need more vegan dessert options

I visited here about six months ago and it was shocking. The worst ever and I put a review on to that effect. Last night my kids insisted on going to PE for tea and I begrudgingly agreed to take them. Wow, what a change, the waitress with the food fear has left, they have chefs who can cook and my waitress Vincenza was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for her. And yes, they know how to smile. So well done PE for turning it around and delivering food of a standard that one expects from your chain of restaurants.

I have had a few disappointing experiences with this Pizza Express, mainly around service but thought we would give it one last try. Unfortunately it was just more of the same. It took 30 minutes for our order to be taken and a further 45 minutes for us to get the food. Very difficult to get the attention of the staff who seemed to be occupied by lots of takeaway orders and no sign of a manager on shift. Saw a couple of tables walk out due to not being served. It seems like the place needs to go back to basics with training. Will not be visiting again, a shame as the food is generally good.

We pre booked for a family of ten to celebrate a child's birthday. Other family members had been here before but this was my first experience of a Pizza Express. From point of arrival nothing was too much trouble for Vincenza and her colleagues Shane and Rachel. Everything arrived as ordered, with efficiency and smiling faces. We had varying orders from child's party meals to adults hot and spicy, and vegetarian. All arrived hot in a timely manner without any query or hitch. Everyone enjoyed the excellent food which I considered to be good value, and tasty. Thanks for a great and memorable evening, Thanks to the hard working staff and well done to Pizza Express for getting the service and products right. We will be back.

I've visited a few times over the past year and always had a lovely experience. I visit with my partner and young daughter and are always made to feel welcome, food is always good, and service is good and usually quite speedy. I love that you can see pizza being made in the open kitchen. The restaurant is always spotlessly clean too. The atmosphere is always good and I feel relaxed even when dining with my child. My most recent visit I decided to try a pasta dish (the cannelloni) which was nice but in the future I would probably just stick to the pizzas. I think pizza express is a bit on the expensive side for pizza but the quality usually makes up for this, however i was shocked to see i had been charged for a tiny bit of extra dip! 🙉 Additionally, i probably wouldn't bother with the desserts again although presented well, the portions were small and not exceptional in taste/quality. I didn't think it was anything special, having said that maybe I would need to try something different. Also it would be fab to have some cocktail options such as strawberry daiquiri.

We often visit this pizza express normally with no issues however our recent visit was not good. Our table was booked for 6.30 it was fairly busy and we waited over half an hr for somebody to take our order and after a further hr of waiting for the food it still hadnt arrived during that time Nobody came up and apologised for the wait just left us there when I managed to attract the waitress attention and asked how much longer she wasn't very helpful so in the end we walked out along with other unsatisfied customers who had also been waiting a very long time !!! They seemed to be preparing too many takeaway pizzas for delivery and leaving the customers in the restaurant never again ...

Appalling - I rang and was told they only had one chef on so couldn’t take my booking however another member of our party had meanwhile booked online , when we arrived there was 4 chefs . I was blatantly lied to. We waited over an hour for starters . People were leaving in there droves without eating due to wait times . Calzone had no filling , lasagna looked like baby food and looked like it had come out of a bucket . Take aways had priority . One of the chefs was very cocky . Staff we’re arguing with each other . one good waitress ( dark hair older lady ) I will never return.

We would have been better ordering a Deliveroo to our table. We waited over an hour for starters meanwhile about 8 takeaway driver came and went. The wait wasn’t worth it. Poorly trained staff. Leader out of her depth. 4 tables walked out while we waited. All rightly without paying for the drinks they had while waiting. We were 2 minutes off walking out also when the starters arrived. When the mains arrived one has been missed! There were only 4 of us for goodness sake. Kitchen staff openly arguing in front of us. Just so poor all round. The only one reasonably efficient and far more on the ball than the rest put together is the Italian lady who has been there a number of years. I feel sorry for her. She used to be part of a good team. Make her the manager for goodness sake.

We have visited this restaurant a number of times and always enjoyed the food. However, the service has gone from Slow to No. After waiting for an hour and a quarter we left and so did two other tables. Really poor management, kitchen staff arguing and take -aways prioritised over the restaurant. No apology just a vague "I'll check" from the manager. We won't be back, and it's a real shame. Appalling.

Slower service even than normal…. 1 hour for starters, 20 minutes later mains and a 2nd drink. Too busy with takeaway orders and although service is usually bad this made it even worse. Most of the staff are rude and ignorant and the lack of any apparent management is shocking.

Went today after waiting for 1Hour asked how long the dough balls was going to be .came back 10 minutes later with the dough balls they was burnt and not properly proved .in fact I left most of mine .when the waitress came I said the dough balls was horrible.waited 1/2 for pizza that was cold and dough base was not nice. Had better dough balls in Tesco . I go a lot to Skipton pizza express and never had any complaints but today was not one of there good days.where we sat there was 5 tables and everyone was complaining about something.

Standard Pizza Express fare, but nicely presented. My GF pizza was nice, and my family’s lasagne and cannelloni, really nice, would visit again. A sepcial mention for Vinchenza our waitress!

Consistently lovely food here and the restaurant is very clean and spacious. Great pizzas and good service. Keep up the good work.

We visited with our two sons this evening and had a very pleasant experience. We had a warm welcome from the lady on the door and lovely friendly service from our waitress Vincenza; both made a fuss of our children and made us feel like valued customers. We have absolutely no complaints about any of the food - we had the lemon and herb chicken wings and pollo milanese to start, followed by the 'Nduja calzone and Calabrese pizza. The pizzas are a tad on the expensive side here, as are the drinks, but they are topped with lots of nice ingredients and are full of flavour. My husband had the tiramasu to finish and I chose the mini lotus biscoff cheesecake with a latte from the Dolcetti section, both of which were lovely. Our sons ate from the kids menu and had plenty of choice, we are also always impressed with the activity sheets and little paper hats given to children to keep them entertained. One of our sons is too young to really appreciate them at the moment but still enjoyed looking at them and playing with the crayons! We were served quickly, but without being rushed to order, and didn't have to wait long between courses. 5 stars!

Arrived at the restaurant about 17:30 and despite nobody else waiting to be seated we had to wait for quite sometime while a group of staff were too busy talking. Shown to a table in the far corner without being given menus and none of the staff bothered to come and and ask if we'd like a drink, despite there only being three tables occupied with customers, while the staff were in a group talking by the counter. After about 15 minutes we managed to attract the attention of a young waitress whom reluctantly gave us the menu.We were just about to walk out when a very nice and helpful Italian waitress (Giovanna?) came to take our order (she just started her shift?). She was attentive all the way through our meal.

I regularly visit pizza express in Skipton and have always had a very pleasant experience in the past. Today, however, I was shocked at the appalling service and general uncaring attitude of our waiter. Our table was booked for 12:30, however our order wasn’t taken for over 20 minutes and the food took a further hour to arrive to the table. The pizzas were delicious as always, but waiting over an hour to receive them was ridiculous. Some tables around us waited even longer to receive their food. I have worked as a waitress for over four years and was overall very unimpressed with the attitude of our server. I feel that a polite and attentive server will often go a long way when a restaurant is busy and people are waiting, however this was not the case today and it made me very unhappy with the overall experience. The server generally acted like he didn’t care whether people were satisfied or waiting for food, and appeared rude and awkward whenever he came over to the table. We were seated upstairs which felt isolated as it was difficult to find members of staff to speak to and felt like we were forgotten. I do appreciate that the restaurant was very busy but this is no excuse for the attitude we received from the waiter today. This is not the standard of service I am used to from pizza express and overall it really ruined the experience today.

My wife and I visited Skipton especially the casttle. Opposite was Pizza Express the young lady (Italian) that served use was friendly, professional and extremely helpful .The pizza was delicious 😋 a really delightful experience

This was not nice, also, since when did a ceaser salad include boiled egg, white anchovy (no taste) too much green, hardly any chicken and hardly any cheese

Having found Pizza Express to be almost uniformly good over the past decade we looked forward to our meal, particularly as they were boasting the New Vegan menu.The starter was a great as ever the Olives were as usual excellent. My Pizza a mix of peppers was good, well made and good flavours. However the "Sloppy Vegan" pizza was tasteless, just how you can have so many ingredients and toppings and come out bland is a mystery.Then onwards to Desserts, oh dear, of the fourteen available, three were Vegan friendly, of the three only two were available ! Hardly a success - Sorbet or Strawberries !We then ordered what turned out to be not as I thought Brown hot water but Coffee, weak wishy washy and undrunk.I hope this was a one off but it looks like cost cutting is being passed on !

Staff were lovely and the food was delicious.However, service was extremely slow…there were only two staff on front of house with 60+ diners to contend with…poor show!Food was limited vegan wise. Starter consisted of dough balls, one vegan pizza available and zero dessert options as all were either unavailable or uninspiring.The side of slaw was overpriced…one julienned carrot and a slice of red cabbage for £4.20!!Came here with a view to a decent feed, left feeling hungry.

We called in for lunch after visiting the caslte as its right over the road from the entrance. The staff were lovely and so was the food.

Quick service. Tasty food. Pizza’s were especially good! Our server Vincenza was amazing, funny and attentive! She made the evening 10x better. I would visit this same location purely for her! A perfect example of exceptional customer service. Thank You Vincenza! I will be back! :)

Arrived 16:45 and were served with drinks and order taken within 5 minutes. Very cold Peronni, promising start, restaurant was not very full. 17:15 no food had arrived (2 pizzas). Food arrived but mine wasn't as per my order (american hot with n'duja sausage), I was provided extra pepperoni. To be fair, the manager offered to get me another, but we no longer had the time option as parking expired at 17:45. Started eating the pizza (Romana base), to discover both bases were under cooked. Ate what we could and left the rest to get to our car before parking expired ( we would have had plenty of time had the pizzas been quicker). Fairness to the manager, he did not charge for mine, but still not a good experience given it was my birthday and we were looking forward to it

Having 2 dogs meant as it was a nice evening we chose a click and collect as we couldn’t eat in. Order went through online for 2 new fungi bosco pizzas. We turned up 3 minutes early and gave our details to waitress. Some 15 minutes later still waiting and waiter asked if we were being served. Said I wasn’t sure anymore so gave him details again. He returned with pizzas which we took to seating area 2 mins away. Pizzas stone cold . Walk back with dogs, wait for new pizzas to be cooked, delay walk back to accommodation. Not really an option. Shame as pizzas would have tasted lovely.

I was thoroughly impressed with the excellent service I received. The waiting on staff are fantastic and my meal was lovely. I would definetly recommend.

We come here 2/3 times a month but the last visit we were so disappointed!! We were stood at the door 10 mins before being seated (it wasn’t busy) when we were eventually seated the service was appalling, 30 mins to take drinks order, food order taken at the same time. 45 mins for food to arrive by this point we were absolutely ravenous. We mentioned the times they weren’t botheredWe paid and left but the conclusion with the slow service was because they were concentrating on the take out side. Such a shame we will not return!

first time at Pizza express in Skipton .Been to many of them in London innumerable times..They do what it says on the tin ...quick reliable food and service.wanted a quick meal...it took 2 hours to get fed and watered .we had done in most of our wine before the starter arrived..Amy who was looking after us was brilliant, even though she was only a trainee. we didn't complain but won't be returning..the manager seemed to have gone missing in action

We popped in for a weekday lunch for four during a visit to Skipton, we had plenty of choice for tables as it was early. We checked in as required and noted the reduced menu. Drinks arrived promptly and the food was ok, it was functional. When times are a-changing it seems more important than ever that staff provide some kind of personality or buzz but there was none on this occasion. We tried to pay via the app but it wouldn't work, the server then said she had changed the number of the table and that was why we couldn't pay quickly or in a contactless manner. It's all very well having new rules to keep folk safe but if the staff choose to go off-piste we're all heading downhill. There are better choices in Skipton that's for sure for lunch.

Dependable Pizza Express - Friendly staff. One way system through the restaurant was good. We enjoyed our usual dough balls and tomato mozzarella starters and classic pizzas. Finally we shared a delicious dessert and bottle of wine. Decor lovely

Paid £12.95 each for pasta Bolognese and £5.45 for garlic bread was more like a starter meal than a main.very dissapointedAnd left still hungry after spending nearly £80.00 for the four of us and wouldn't of ordered had the prices been on the menu and would of refused the meal when it was served.

Went twice within the eat out to help out scheme with my mum. Servers were fantastic and seated us quickly, food was very prompt to say how busy it was and was up to the usual standard. Super cheap and lovely as always. People need to cut servers more slack during the eat out to help out scheme, they were trying their absolute best and did a great job!

Nice staff, hard working manager and fantastic dinner.... me and the hubby were both of the same opinion!We called to amend our table reservation thinking we were going to be late after being stuck in traffic, happy to amend on a Tuesday despite it being rammed on eat out to help out....turned out we were in fact still going to be on time and the manager said no issue. Ordered and the pizzas were lovely, my 5 year enjoyed every part... all staff were who approached us very attentive...well done to all staff here, under the current situation you are doing a fabulous job. Keep up the good work.

Booked table and called in during day to confirm booking. Minimal menu and sadly 3 starters were not available! No social distancing in place so close to next table where teenager flopping about everywhere falling asleep (if your tired go home don’t spoil night for others when you’ve finished eating and drinking) appetiser didn’t arrive before starter so cancelled it. Pesto pasta dried up at edges and no offer of cheese or black pepper! Lots of uncleared tables didn’t seem enough staff. Wouldn’t visit without Tesco vouchers. Disappointed in visit tonight,

Pizza Express Skipton.Nice Location. Clean toilets.VERY SHORT STAFFED.We waited 15 minutes for our order to be taken. After our mains we waited 25 minutes for the waiting staff to return and ask us if we wanted a dessert. We had wanted a dessert but had only paid for 2 hours at the car park, so we had no choice but to leave.There were only 2 waiting staff for the whole restaurant, and one of them was gone for about 15 minutes, presumably taking a much needed break.Very poor service, but I do not blame the waiting staff as they were constantly busy.Get some more staff please.The food is, as ever, very limited in variety but this has always been the case at Pizza Express, the starters and mains are pretty much the same thing; dough and tomatoes.I cannot eat cheese, so I ordered a prawn starter and a bruchetta starter, the prawns were semi cold and swimming in a watery tasteless liquid liberally sprinkled with chopped tomatoes acompanied by dough balls. The bruchetta was a piece of dough smothered in chopped tomatoes.The rest of the party had pizza and pasta which they enjoyed.I know it may be difficult to source some ingredients at the moment but really ...unless you are a SUPERFAN of dough and chopped tomatoes I wouldn't go here.

6 of us decided to visit and use up some vouchers. Thank goodness we have used them up. Rubbish service, shared 3 starters, 1 failed to turn up until 5 minutes after the other 2. Ordered 6 mains. 1 failed to turn up until 5 minutes after the others. Ordered Chardonnay got Sauvignon Blanc. Pasta portion size tiny, never offered black pepper or parmesan.Food when it arrived was ok but no better. Drink ridiculously overpriced £6.60 for a bottle of beer!Wont be visiting again, there a an awful lot of better restaurants in Skipton, although to be fair I dont suppose all are suitable for kids.

Firstly I have to say the food was lovely - my 8 year old stepdaughter ordered an American classic Pizza which she loved, I ordered the Pollo Chicken Salad which I asked to cut out the dough sticks, goats cheese, olives and croutons (all my favourite things but currently on a health kick!) and the fact I could order the dressing on the side I was really pleased about. The salad was absolutely excellent value for money and even more so with all the extras that I asked not to be served! Second great point was that we had also brought our dog and I asked a couple of staff whether if we sat outside would they allow our puppy to sit under the table - they agreed but unfortunately the only tables outside were in the 34 degrees heat with absolutely no shade - I was really surprised there wasn't any umbrellas or something similar? I get they cannot control the weather but the chairs being plastic and the metal tables were scorching hot - even on a nice summer's day it's not exactly comfortable? One staff member was great - very friendly and even brought our puppy a bowl of water. But they other couple of members of staff were very distracted - I felt like asking for menus and asking about how we order/pay it was like I was such an inconvenience. I loathe customer service like that - again I understand things are running differently with Covid and everyone has to adapt but I really don't appreciate feeling like I am a nuisance when I'm actually a paying customer. Great food like I said and one member of staff was fabulous - just such a shame a couple of other members of staff were so flippant and huffing and puffing/leaving us waiting.

Booked here whilst staying in Skipton ive eaten here before in previous years should of known from the previous experience to avoid. Ordered two starters dough balls- not cooked enough and garlic bread with mozarella-bland needed a good crack of black pepper. Initially ordered lasagne few mins later waiter said they had sold out. Ordered two pizzas margharita can't go wrong with that hubby said it was good. I had pollo ad astra which was far too seasoned looked like they had knocked a whole pot of cajun onto it by mistake then just left it! Needless to say I ate around the over done seasoning. Just happy the government 50% discount was applied as I wouldn't of paid full price. Covid 19 precautions were non existent staff not wearing visors and only a hand sanitizer at the main door.

Visited Monday lunch time with my daughter. The staff were attentive and polite, the restaurant was clean and spacious in line with the new restictions.We ordered the double dough balls to share for a starter with the 3 dips, these were just delicious.I ordered the goats cheese and caramalised red onion pizza which was very disappointing, very little goats cheese and I think they actually forgot the caramalised red onions although there were a few raw red onions on there! My Daughter ordered the Pollo Ad Astra, which she said was a bit herby but enjoyed.The service was quick and the cashless payment system worked well.I have always found Pizza Express a tad pricy (our bill came to £50 for the starter and 2 pizzas with 2 soft drinks). With the choice of restaurants in Skipton I do not think I will return unless i can just order the dough balls !

Went there with the family, starters was fine and mains was average. When it comes to customer service, needs improvement.

We recently came here for a 3 course meal. All of the food was delicious, couldn't fault taste or presentation.I had the brownie for dessert, expecting it to come served warm I was slightly disappointed when it came chilled from the fridge. May I make a suggestion for all puddings like this you give the option for it to come warm or cold?Service was average. We could tell that they were understaffed when it got slightly busier as we waited a while between meals and a considerable amount more for dessert.Overall it was a lovely meal and we will be back :)

We have been to a number of pizza express restaurants recently and the service has been slow. The service in Skipton was quick and polite and the food was good.

Came for lunch using the o2 priority moments 2 for £10 main course deal. Casually mentioned to the waitress, Anna, that we were planning to get two mains and share them from the plate. She brought out the food having split the pasta into two bowls and halving the pizza on separate plates already! Great intuition and very grateful for doing it without our asking! Very impressed Anna! Thankyou :)

Just popped in to escape a rainy Skipton and avoid the hustle of any cafes. What a treat. We shared the new carbonara pizza and it was delicious. Would definitely have again.

Really good meal 2 courses for a tenner with 02 priority. We did not book but we were seated quickly - both waitresses were polite and kind. Vincenza was our server she attended to our every request, water glasses, takeaway boxes etc. We were very impressed. The service overall was quick and the quality of the food was good! Will go back soon to try a pasta dish.

Great time had by all at pizza express and good service by The manager Anna who we were particularly impressed with how when it was quiet she did a big clean clean!! Also was impressed when she did a quick change like superman to become evening waitress. Worth the visit just to experience this great service.

Wanted a nice meal for 2 on our return from the theatre. Really poor service from start to finish. My chosen drink wasn’t in “stock” neither was my chosen starter - both current specials. Chose a different starter to share, on arrival had to ask for a second plate. Main course took a while to arrive, then I got my lasagne but hubby didn’t get his pizza... waited and waited, managed to catch a waiter, arrived eventually. Asked for a spoon for the lasagne and was given a teaspoon! Asked a second waiter! First waiter then came to apologise said he’d forgotten the second main... for a couple, how can you only bring one main to a table??I love Pizza Express lasagne but from now on it will have to be a takeaway. Seems they are short staffed and poorly trained. Very disappointed.

We have been to Pizza Express twice now and have really enjoyed it. The food is good and the service has been excellent. The first time it was a bit noisy as there was a lot of young children messing about and the adults did nothing to calm them down! My only quibble would be the prices, they are a bit too much, but if you can get a voucher it makes the bill a bit more acceptable. We especially like the dough balls for a starter, they are so nice. We will be back soon!

My daughter and had an enjoyable evening here on Saturday night celebrating exam results and university entry. The pizza and pasta we ordered were excellent.

We came for our 10th year anniversary, we booked a table for 2 at 7pm. When we arrived we were given the menu and asked if we would like a drink. The drinks came and they were both wrong. Not ones to make a fuss we left it. The young lady (long hair with facial piercings) came back after 10 minutes to take our order, we asked for the lasagna and we were told they had run out, my husband asked for another pasta and she explained they had run out of an ingredient to that specific pasta but could make it without it. I asked why we were not told on arrival what the kitchen didn't have. we were told 'it was't hzer job to advise us on the menu'. A table near us over heard what was said and explained the same thing happened to him. Absolutely raging we were about to leave and the lady chased us like criminals to the door because we had not paid for the untouched wrongly given drinks, after we explained we didn't order them drinks she demanded we came inside and paid for one of them my husband had taken a sip out of. I wouldn't recommend.

Good pizza and garlic bread with mozzarella. Outdoor seating available if you prefer. Got half price starter and main meal with meerkat meals 🙂

This is a very clean restaurant with very friendly staff and delicious foods for all the family. Very child friendly and has very nice outdoor seating. Food arrived quickly and efficiently.

Arrived with family and seated promptly as restaurant was quiet. We ordered food and mentioned that one of the party was gluten free. So was advised that dough balls are gluten free and that the Romana pizza could also be gluten free. Based on the menu we decided to share a Romana due to its size. The food came promptly but when it came to our main course, we were given a "normal" Romana pizza which we had to decline as it wasn't the gluten free option. This left us just with the side orders while the new pizza was being made/cooked. After having to eat the side orders before they went cold, the gluten free pizza arrived. BE WARNED!!! the gluten free version is half the size of the normal pizza. At no point was this communicated to us when we ordered the pizza and clearly commented on how hungry we were. Bit disappointing and showed a lack of attentiveness from the waiter. Needless to say, we won't be going back as Wildwood just next door seems to offer a nicer environment, more gluten free options, similar Trip Advisor ratings all for the same costs.

Staff here are nice even when it is extremely busy, there are two floors and an outside eating area, the downstairs is fully wheelchair accessible and has a disabled toilet, if busy it can be hard to get through all the tables to get to the toilets at the back of the restaurant. Food is of good quality, however unless you have vouchers or discount codes works out expensive! Vegetarian and vegan menus are extensive and allergies etc will be taken into consideration. Booking is easy but unfortunately if you need to ensure an accessible table we found you had to actually visit the restaurant to book as the telephone booking is automated and there are no options for wheelchairs/prams etc

Good enough food but unbelievably noisy cannot hear yourself think or talk without shouting. Needs some acoustic upgrade.

visited 29.5 in the morning to book a table for 6.30 that evening. A very helpful young man dealt with me and a table at the far end was chosen as being quiet - necessary for friend with hearing problems. However when we visited at the appointed time it was obvious that there was a problem - food was being taken to the table we had especially ordered. We were left standing in a very crowded restaurant and eventually walked out. This does not encourage a return visit!

Went for an afternoon treat. Food good. Enjoyed the rhubarb cocktail. Our server Enza was very attentive and made us feel relaxed. 😊

We regularly come here as there is always a great offer/discount on their app or O2 or Meerkat movies. The only reason I gave it a try was because I got a free pizza offer by downloading their app but i'm a convert, we tend to go early lunchtime on weekdays so have never been when its packed. Staff always hepful and patient with us (bit indecisive at times) great with us having the buggies and babies in and lovely to sit our in the back when its sunny

Good food, somewhat slow service and not really an understanding of what you should do or where you should go for example; I don't think there should be confusion about how to get the bill - do you go to the counter, do you ask a waitress? All in all good but could have a bit more customer service.

Big thanks to Adam and staff. We had throughly enjoyable lunch! We were a large group of youth footballers and coaches/parents. Adam was so accommodating and everyone enjoyed their food - the veggie option was lovely. We had a nice space and our orders came through quickly and accurately...and with a smile. I wholeheartedly recommend coming to Pizza Express Skipton especially if you are bringing a large group.

We ordered on the Meerkat movies deal but we would have paid full price. First visit and it exceeded expectations. Food cooked and served within 15 minutes. Staff super friendly, food was amazing. Really exclusive for vegan options! Will definitely be back.

Visited pizza express for a quick lunch. Staff were very attentive and took drinks and food orders swiftly. Usual high standard for food when it arrived, tasty and well presented. All staff were excellent.

Called in after visiting Skipton Castle. Nice open contemporary place and food on. Staff very accommodating. Certainly would call back in.

Once again on one of our regular visits to Skipton from London I have encountered our favourite waitress Enza, she is an asset to your team and I can’t recommend her service and impeccable good nature enough. The food was excellent as always and the atmosphere and surroundings were nothing short of perfect. We will definitely be returning soon. Big well done to Skipton pizza express!!******

I visited this restaurant with my partner on the day of her 50th birthday. We could have chosen any one of numerous eateries in Skipton, but have previously visited many Pizza Express outlets together, including York and Edinburgh, and have never had anything less than fantastic experiences. Hence our choice for this very special occasion.

Having visited this restaurant a few years ago and been less than impressed I can say this placed has definitely changed. The staff were friendly and engaged the atmosphere was perfect and the food quality was always was impressive. Great work by the team and clearly headed in the right direction.

Came with two girl friends, food was good but nothing special - seems the prices have gone up a bit especially for drinks! We’re sat in round table by the kitchen but when it got later the chefs started banging around without a care in the world for the guests and really disturbed the atmosphere. Was also most unimpressed with the attitude of the waitress when we asked to use two different discount vouchers she said no, so we asked to split the bill and she said she didn’t have authority but also there was no manager around to do so. She then told us she had no idea about the T&Cs; of the vouchers as she never reads it. Would expect staff to have knowledge and training of all vouchers. Food was good but always is standard pizza express however left a little frustrated after paying the bill.

On our second night in Skipton as part of our anniversary treat we walked from our hotel to Pizza Express. Lovely new building and a very friendly welcome. It was reasonably busy for a Monday evening. We both had legerra pizzas which were lovely. Our waitress was Italian. Great meal. lovely occasion.

Me and my friends got two pizzas they were so thin u could hardly pick it up. Staff was very rude towards us. Very disappointed

Stopped in here for an early dinner on a Saturday afternoon. The waitress was friendly she said we could sit anywhere except where the menus were laid on tables she recommended the back of the restaurant by the toilets (no-one in there at the time we arrived) after ordering and receiving our main meals which we couldn't fault two pizzas were very nice and not over cooked. During our meal a children's birthday party arrived where the staff seated them opposite us and then the family's next to us which took up the whole of the space at the back of the restaurant. If I'm honest we felt very uncomfortable and couldn't enjoy our meal with parents dropping kids off, talking loudly it made us ask why did the waitress seat us in this section knowing there was going to be group party coming in which took up the whole space! We had the choice of pretty much the whole restaurant but they decided to sit us there....bemusing! When walking out we noticed tables of two all of whom were seated at the front of the restaurant. Would of stayed for pudding but didn't feel comfortable staying. I'd recommend the food but the service could improve.

Family decision to eat at this establishment. My review could be considered biased as I would never choose a Pizzeria for a meal out, (but nobody would know that if I hadn’t mentioned it) as for me, Pizza isn’t “dining out”.

We visited for a meal with family here. The food is very bland, we had some kind of pasta which was very boring and a Caesar Salad which was tasteless. The drinks are very expensive and for two people for lunch we spent £60!! Not somewhere we would return again. The only good thing was the staff were very helpful!

My family went here on our first day out in Skipton over a week as we know it’s pretty good with the allergies and intolerances that we face.

My husband and I decided to try pizza express as we had heard that the food was delicious. We certainly weren't disappointed. Our food was perfectly cooked, my husband had lasagna and I had margarita pizza, both were equally delicious. We were served by a lovely lady named Enza, she was extremely professional, her service was impeccable and we couldn't of asked for a better waitress. We will definitely be returning in the near future, thank you for a wonderful evening.

Nipped in for something to eat yesterday, it was busy so we were pleased to get a table. Good points stop there. The whole place was filthy. Kitchen, tables, floor, toilets. The door to the team room is testament to how much cleaning goes on there, big black dirty marks where they open the door. The server we had sprayed me with food as she wiped the table next to us with a filthy cloth. Plates not cleared after starters, still there when the mains came out. The food was ok but we wouldn't go back.

Really enjoyed our visit to Pizza express in Skipton. Food and service really good. Kids menu lots of choice and value for money!
