The best restaurants in Craven Yorkshire and The Humber

Lovely staff here! Central location beautiful homemade food mum loved the steak and ale pie with veg chips and gravy I opted for the small plates. Well presented warm and good service. Scotch egg on the small plates would have been a lot better warmed up but was served cold so maybe can be an option I left half as would have preferred it warm. Salad garnish was lovely and nice drink comfy seats for mum as she has difficulty with her legs. Polite on the phone when booking and we left happy that there was food choices for everyone. Would definitely return !

Decided to try The Royal Shepherd for Sunday lunch as we hadn't been for a while. Very glad we did. My roast beef dinner was delicious even though I couldn't eat it all. Hubby had the chicken and ham pie followed by spotted dick! Both apparently were very good. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Will certainly return.

We stayed overnight in one of the freshly decorated rooms. From arrival to departure we were extremely well looked after by Richard, Amy and their team. The room was spacious and spotless and as advertised. The bar area had a great atmosphere and there was a great selection of real ales, ciders and beers. We ate in the evening and the food was spot on, certainly not shy with portion sizes. We sat and talked to Richard the landlord later in the evening and it is clear that Richard and Amy have big plans - I wish them every success, we will 100% be back. Highly recommend!

Sam and his team looked after us (18 people for our son’s 18th) ) from start to finish. Food was gorgeous, great, friendly venue and would highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

Visited this lovely pub twice during our week's holiday and really enjoyed the food and the great atmosphere. The hosts were really friendly and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

great pub, was enjoying it, at least until I had an encounter with Isobel (short hair) who was incredibly rude. She should be ashamed of herself. Her attitude in the workplace is concerning. After this, I will NOT be returning, and I will NOT recommend to any of my family or friends. Some people really need to learn some manners and how to speak to people.

Currently closed down no information anywhere online confirming this until I actually visited.

The haddock batter was soggy and oil loaded the chips were dry and wizened and Luke warm ! Clearly reheated from the night before ! Not cheap at over £20 either for two portions ! When I rang to complain and said re chips re heated the owner just said “ OK IF YOU SAY SO AND PUT THE PHONE DOWN “ appalling . DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS !!!! The worse fish and chips we have ever had ! He doesn’t deserve to be in business ! Most of ours went in the bin !!!

Great sandwiches and cakes. Staff lovely and friendly too. We really enjoyed going there as felt welcome. Shame they probably lose out to other places more central.

Found this superb restaurant on google maps! We arrived a little bit before opening time but they suggested we stay for a drink in their longe area. I ordered the mixed grill which was amazing and hubby ordered a curry again superb. Service was fabulous and I would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant

What a lovely warm welcomeing pub.It was very cold but lovely and toastie in the pub.Staff were really lovely and friendly.Food looked great and our pizza was also fab.

Great sports bar with comfy chairs, loads of TVs, good range of drinks at a sensible price. Four of us went in late Saturday evening to watch the Osik/Fury fight. Managed to grab a sofa for four, right in front of the TV screen - perfect. Very busy place but managed to get served quickly each time we went to the bar. Can highly recommend.

Lovely, welcoming and warm. Gorgeous open fire that was tended to throughout the evening. Pool table. Good prices. Lovely staff. We were so happily surprised by this pub. Really clean, really pleasant. Would happily go here over and over. Not everyone’s first choice but everyone should give it a go as they would be surprised. Best pub of the evening!
