Currently closed down no information anywhere online confirming this until I actually visited.

Well cooked to order. Was surprised at the large portion for the price. A hidden gem !

Hours are wrong on here. So drove all the way to find out it's closed on Wednesdays. Disappointed

Great curry sauce , Two choices

Best chips had in a long while and choice of fruity or spicy curry sauce. Good find 😍

Excellent fish chips and curry sauce, cooked fresh, good price.

Hopefully we caught them on a bad day but these were some of the worst fish & chips we have had. Chips were clearly re cycled from lunch time, batter on the fish was greasy. I gave a star for the curry sauce which was very nice. What made it worse who we spoke to couldn't have been more disinterested but was flippant and rude. We won't be using them again.

It's a pity that when I arrived it was already 1:30 pm and I couldn't eat their fish and chips.

Both of us had the medium fish and chips and also a potato scollop today. The fish were prepared to order everything, fish, chips and scollop, were piping hot and of 5-star quality and at a very reasonable takeaway price. Never been disappointed with any of our visit to this chippie.

Lovely food but quite expensive

I called in at about 6.45pm one evening on my way from Lancaster to Leeds. The place is spotless and my order was cooked whilst I waited. I had the medium fish & chips for just £4.50! Really decent fish and chips at great value. Just what I wanted!

Great meals, I had sausage, gravy, and chips, my wife had curry, chips, and a burger, both really nice, tasty and great value!

Tried this for the first time the other day - unfortunately it was very disappointing. Arrived around 10 minutes after they opened expecting fresh food, unfortunately that just was not the case - the batter was soggy, the chips old & tasteless. The service was okay, the staff were nice enough but unfortunately that doesn’t make up for the disappointing food. The portions are also very very small. Initially the pricing seemed pretty good but upon realising how small the portions are, the pricing is not good. Maybe they were having an off day but I won’t be giving them another chance. How the food wasn’t fresh after literally just opening I don’t know.

Awful. Probably the worst fish we have ever left. Total batter which wasn’t very pleasant and got left. All in all a terrible meal and will not be visiting again

Have never spotted this place before despite passing many times. What we've been missing! £3.99 for medium fish and chips. Portion size was just right. Enough to fill you up without making you feel uncomfortable! Crispy batter. Tasty chips. Biggest plus point for me (as am immunosuppressed and very anxious about covid) was how safe the whole place felt. No-one sitting around inside waiting for their order. Masks encouraged. Thank you - it was really appreciated. Loved everything about this place. Will definitely return.

Brilliant fish & chips. Always call when passing if they are open. Always cooked fresh for you, never had and any horrid warm ups 🤢. Clean shop, pleasant staff, highly reccomend. Worthy of 5⭐

Popped in on way through as we were passing and needed food. Had fish & chips, battered sausage, scampi, mushy peas, curry sauce. All very tasty and service was safe and friendly. Worth a visit.

Called for fish & chips absolutely awful CHIPS had been cooked twice never again. I ended up throwing these away can't understand why Chip shops do this.

Superb fish and chips and great value too. I had the medium f&c and it was just enough for me. The chips are the best I've tasted for yonks !! They tasted just like ones I used to love years ago - I'm sure they must have been cooked in beef dripping 'cos they tasted so good.

Made me feel like It was an inconvenience ordering food from them, so miserable. I think they need to choose jobs where they do not deal with the public. This was the guy with the beard, the other chap seemed quite nice.

Tucked away on a side road right next to a pelican crossing is a small but great fish and chip shop. It is cash only but if plastic is all you have, you can pay by card at the sister off license on the main road. Regular and large fish available, regular was quite enough for lunch though. Friendly staff take your order and name through the door and you wait outside for your name to be called. Very nice fresh fish. Other non fish alternatives are on the menu. A good stop off point if your heading towards the Lakes.

We arrived from doing the 3 peaks at 7.40pm and found staff having closed the shop, even though it should be open till 8pm. Very disappointed: you'd think we've had enough of idling after lockdown.

We asked for a large chips and barely received a level polystyrene tray full, which was not enough for a family of four. We didn't realise until we took it back to our caravan. The chips were just warm (and we were literally 2mins car ride away so they wouldn't have cooled down that quickly). The fish was ok, a little greaser than I've had before. The chips were tasty though even if not hot.

Recently had fish and chips from H's Fish and chips and they were lovely. Warm, brilliant quality and will order again.

Best fish and chips I've ever had

We are so glad my father and I stopped here for their fish and chips. We arrived just 4 mins before their restaurant closed. But that was no problem to these delightful people. Really well presented and very enjoyable meal. Thank you both, once again.

We got there as the cafe was about to shut so we had take away Fish and chips. Lovely friendly staff, and the fish is cooked to order. We ordered a portion of fish and chips to share and as we were taking out, the young man serving us very kindly split everything in to two small boxes to make it easier for us. Fish was nice and flavoursome. Exceptionally good chips!

Proper Yorkshire fish and chips cooked how they should be., Not in that vegetable oil rubbish.

Saw that the fish came straight out of the freezer into the oil, not sure if this is normal practise but the fish was not flakly at all. it was served on such a small plate that i had to put the fish on the napkin to put salt and vinegar on the chips.

We have often passed H's Fish and Chip shop in Hellifield but never stopped. Tonight we decided to give it a try. It was 19:45 hrs and they close at 20:00 hrs midweek, so we got there just in time. We ordered fish and chips with mushy peas. We wanted to eat them outside on the picknic table as it was a lovely evening. There is a small dining area should you wish to eat inside or you can always take them away with you. The fish and chips are cooked to order, so prepare to wait a few moments, but the fish was well cooked, flaky and quite large. The chips reminded us of our younger days when you could buy chats. The chips were normal size, but still had their skins on, which gave them a distinctive taste. Very nice. Each serving comes in a handy poly box which keeps them warm. Not the cheapest fish and chips, but worth it for what you get. We shall certainly call in again.
