I've had many take aways and many meals inside. I've lived in halifax for 3 years now and tried all the locals and this takes 1st prize, and all the staff are really nice. Tonight we had the 'tawa for 2' and it was perfect. update# the last few visits have been a little hit and miss - I normally get the same but it can be very different and has been poor once or twice - not sure if there's been a change of owners or not but i'm hoping it picks back up again. Also the pricing when you get the bill can be different to what is shown in the banners, menus and walls...

Don’t order the beef burger or the treacle tart. The duck was good. The baileys mousse is like angel delight if you like that kind of thing. The bread starter was good. The squid is too salty and not a lot of it. The service is amateur. There is a good view of the opposing hillside. The restaurant was warm.

I have never eaten at this restaurant but someone must ov gog hold over my card details and ordered from one of there outlets and tried a second time but that was blocked I phoned my local outlet Halifax to see if I could get any help finding out more about it ,I wasn't actually expecting much from them but WOW THE management were absolutely fantastic they took my details and passed them on to there head office and I have had more help and respect from them than I have had of my bank who have taken 3 weeks to finally realise some one has been trying to rob my account ,top notch service thank you very much

First time. Me and my daughter had breakfast. I can honestly say one of the best scrambled eggs I have had in a restaurant. Staff so pleasant and polite. Definitely will be back thank you

First visit here Lovely friendy atmosphere and lovely building The Two stars are for the lovely staff and the coffee. However the salad and bruschetta were awful 😣 The Salad stated it had avocado and celery which it didn’t, but had radish in it which it shouldn’t have . We sat across from the kitchen and could see inside unfortunately. The lady had no gloves on and tore up the up the ham and I know there is no legal requirement to wear gloves although common sense would seemingly be appropriate especially when she drizzled the salad with a dressing and dug her hands to the bottom of the dish and proceeded to mix it in ! Now anyone knows that rings harbour both dirt and germs so that was an appalling thing to do ! The bruschetta looked delicious but tasted soapy for some reason?? We did try it but had to leave the whole meal . We will definitely be back for the coffee and the staff there are lovely but next time it will be a drink and traybake !

I’m owed 18.5 hours worth of wages from this company. I’ve contacted everyone I can and I’m being ignored. Shameful display, I await contact to resolve this, if I don’t receive any contact I’ve been advised by Unison workers union to progress this matter to the small claims court.

Wow. Excellent Mothers Day brunch. Whole family said it was the nicest food they'd ever had.

This is a review for the takeaway, not the restaurant upstairs. Usually great chips, usually poor fish. "Large" haddock is very, very small, and sometimes... well, I'm really not sure it's actually haddock. I grew up with family members in the trade, and my Dad's cousin Derek used to run a chippy - so I know what haddock tastes like!!

Some busy times as it gets more popular so time your visit. Great food every time, special specials. Convenient meeting place as near bus station

The pizza toppings were impressively fresh, though the overall experience was unremarkable. I enjoyed the dessert, a slice of chocolate cake with ice cream, which I consumed entirely. The restaurant's appeal may vary depending on individual preferences; however, those with hearty appetites will likely find it satisfactory.

Gorgeous piece of Victoria sponge cake with a pot of tea. Lucky to be sat in the sunshine too.

We went to visit last Saturday afternoon. Entered at 1pm, waited until 1:25 to give our drinks orders. Food was sat waiting on the serving counter as it went cold and the kitchen staff had to serve their own food. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive and I was told I would face a longer wait for any hot drinks. Ordered a burger and some fajitas. Old drinks were not collected meaning the food wouldn’t fit on the table. My spicy burger arrived with every chilli outside of the actual burger. The patty was set inside sloppy cheese which enveloped the patty and was at least 1 inch thick on either side. Grease covered my hands. Couldn’t eat it and finally left over 1.5 hours after entering. Avoid at all costs. Worst experience in Halifax.
